When my fiancé and I booked with Butternut farm, we got the "Vendor inclusive" package, which lucky for us came with Metzger Studios for our photographer! Scott Metzger is one of the kindest, prompt and easy to work with gentlemen I have ever gotten to work with. Scott called us a few times before the big day just to talk and get our ideas and the time frame of everything. On the day of the wedding, we were getting ready at two different locations, so Scott came to me and his partner went to my fiancé. You would think a poor guy walking into a room full of frantic women getting their hair and makeup done might be little timid, but no! Scott came in and instantly had us all comfortable and excited to get started! The ideas he had for the ready photos covered everything you'd think of and then so much more! He had me and my bridesmaids being our natural silly selves taking goofy photos on hotel trolley carts that came out amazing! He had amazing and unique ideas for dress photos that completely blew us away! On our way to the venue he made sure to get there before me to get shots of us in the limo and coming out all together. We did first look photos at a covered bridge that was accessible by golf cart. Scott drove me down a long, narrow, bumpy road to get there with nothing but confidence and didn't miss a beat! The first look photos were so fun and intimate, and that "awkward feeling" you get knowing someone is taking your picture just did not exist. Scott made every step of the way and every camera click so effortless and comfortable for us and that was more than we could ever ask for. The wedding went until 10:30pm and Scott stayed until just about the very end, weaving his way on and off the dance floor to get some amazing and fun shots of everyone. It was only a few days before we got a small album sent to us with the top photos from every part of the day! I don't know how he picked his favorites, because shortly after we received all of the photos and to say they are ALL perfect would be an understatement! Scott managed to capture our entire day so perfectly without keeping it to just the safe and generic wedding photos. He made the whole day look absolutely perfect, and if you are looking for someone who will get it done right, he is the one for you!

He had a great eye for unique, creative shots, while also making sure we got all of the traditional photos we wanted. From start to finish, Scott was great to work with! He was organized, professional, kind, energetic, and very open to feedback of what we wanted our wedding day photos to look and feel like. We had our engagement shoot with Scott as well, which I would highly recommend, and it allowed for us to establish a rapport with Scott prior to the big day. On our wedding day, Scott was able to capture every important moment, and even took our inspiration photos into account to make sure the photos fit our preference and style. I especially liked that Scott had a great balance of being present to capture the important moments, but also giving us time to be present in the moment and enjoy our day.
After our wedding, we were truly surprised by how quickly Scott was able to give us our proofs and final photos! All of our friends and family have had nothing but wonderful things to say about how great the photos turned out, and we cannot stop looking at them. We also ordered an album through Scott, and his editing and layout of the album was incredible.

He made time to take key photos our our bridal party and immediate family in between focusing on us. Scott knew when to whisk us away for some key photos throughout the night and didn't take any useless photos that we would never look at. All of the photos were so great it was so hard chosing for our album. I love that Scott picked out his own favorites to give us a second opinion. , and professional (and funny!) the entire time we worked with him. When there’s so much going on and you feel like the world is spinning, it’s nice to have someone there to guide you. Scott had no problem directing us while also checking in to make sure we were okay (it was cold and windy on our wedding day!). And on top of that, the pictures he takes are breathtaking - it takes a talented person to be able to cut through chaos and get a beautiful picture out of it all.
When you’re getting married, you don’t know what to expect. You hope you can plan it all but in reality, you never know what’s to come. Having Scott with us felt like we had an anchor. I think it’s important to see his pictures and determine if his style is right for you but I also think it’s important to consider how genuinely helpful and caring he is. He went above and beyond for us and we couldn’t be more grateful. The fact that we have these beautiful pictures to capture one of the best days of our lives is priceless. Scott is worth it, I can’t recommend him enough. His prices are fair, he communicates clearly, and he’s very nice. What more could you ask for? Thank you for everything, Scott!

iately knew he was the one to capture our big day. He went above and beyond in record breaking temperatures to ensure our engagement shoot was absolutely perfect. He communicated with us frequently throughout the year between our engagement shoot and our wedding day to keep us updated and make sure our timeline was perfect and all of our special moments were captured. He showed up early the day of our wedding to capture the most beautiful getting ready pictures and detail shots and took time to make sure our bridal party pictures were perfect despite our VERY large wedding party. Neither one of us feel comfortable in front of the camera but he truly made us feel like the camera wasn’t there & captured the most beautiful pictures throughout the day that truly tell the story of our wedding day. He spent so much time with us while also allowing us the space to enjoy our day while capturing special moments. Not to mention he spent several hours in the snow and freezing cold temperatures ensuring we got the perfect shots. Based on experiences our married friends have shared, we anticipated to wait weeks-months for our photos but Scott delivered them promptly and sent a print for us and our two sets of parents. He was exceptional and we could not ask for a better photographer for our wedding day and would recommend him to anyone and everyone.

We did an engagement photo session with him where he had plenty of location suggestions to guide us in what we envisioned, and then brought takeaways from that session into our wedding day. My husband and I are very casual and love a good crowd! Our wedding guest attendance was ~180 people and a majority under 30 so it was LIVELY to say the least. Scott captured all the high energy fun in his creative shots and moved around the venue space seamlessly to secure the key moments. Our sunset pictures and final wedding album came out absolutely stunning! creative with his vision, and most of all, he cared. A few days before the wedding we needed Scott to show up an hour earlier than scheduled and he was there without question. He stayed as long as we needed him to and he made sure he was respectful with our time, getting us back from pictures to spend time with family and friends as quickly as possible, but without sacrificing any shots. Not to mention, the shots came out INCREDIBLE. My husband is not a big picture taker, but Scott’s fun attitude and presence brought out a whole new side of him. Scott was fun and excited and made the whole process so enjoyable. If you are looking for a wedding photographer to do it right, Scott is your guy. We planned a roaring twenties wedding and he captured a lot of photographs that emphasized the romanticism of our style.
Scott charged us a very reasonable priced considering the fact that he arrived at 1:00pm and stayed well into the reception to take photos.
I highly recommend this photographer for your wedding!

I am so thankful to have. Moments I didn't see or wouldn't have thought of documenting. He is so beyond detail oriented it's incredible. I have photos of every moment of family and friends laughing, to table settings, the cake, dance moves, emotions and BEYOND. He also is SO creative. At first I wanted something super classic BUT he does it all and captured some of the most fun moments at my wedding. I would be doing a disservice not attaching some of the incredible moments he captured.

he groom’s sister’s wedding a few years before. The photos from that wedding were creative, artistic, and, simply put, stunning. It didn’t take much to convince either one of us to go with him as we were both drawn to his unique style and original point of view.
Scott was so easy to work with, right from the first time we contacted him. All of his responses were timely and professional, whether via email or phone. We met via Zoom to discuss his services and pricing and immediately felt at ease. For an incredibly fair price, we got Scott and a second photographer (Kathy) for 8 hours. Also included was an album with 60 retouched photos, a thumb drive with all the photos taken, and an incredibly sweet blog post highlighting some of the gorgeous photos from our day. He also guaranteed that if he couldn’t make it on the day of the wedding for whatever reason, he would provide a back-up photographer for us.
On the actual wedding day, we gave Scott complete artistic license to bring our day to life through photos. His work with reflections is so second to none; it’s so interesting to see ourselves reflected in a wine glass or a table top. He did a great job corralling our large families to get all the shots we had asked for, especially given that the sun was setting and the natural light was quickly disappearing. He kept everyone on task and did it in such a way that it only enhanced our experience with him.
Many of our friends and family complimented Scott's (and Kathy’s) professionalism and willingness to accommodate any requests that our guests made of him for their own unique pictures all while making sure we were his priority throughout the day.
After the wedding, Scott created a beautiful slideshow on YouTube that we were able to show our guests. It so perfectly encapsulated our day, especially given how quickly it seemed to pass for both of us.
We cannot recommend Scott Metzger enough. His artistic vision is eye-catching and visually appealing. He is very fairly priced and incredibly easy to work with. If you’re looking for a photographer with an artistic eye and that listens to what you want out of your photos, please consider Scott.

From the first consultation to the final delivery of our photos, Scott was the epitome of professionalism, skill, and adaptability. Moreover, Scott was fantastic with our multi-lingual guest list with many guests speaking only mandarin or only Cantonese and very little english.
Scott's professionalism was evident from the outset. He was punctual, well-prepared, and exuded a calming presence that immediately put everyone at ease. He truly understood the significance of our special day and took the time to get to know us as a couple to create the perfect portfolio. The fact that he is experienced with wedding photography as well as experience shooting at our venue before made things smoother and we could clearly see the added creativity and skill he was able to bring from that experience.

I’m so glad we chose Scott as our wedding photographer! He did both our engagement photos and those on our wedding day, and each shoot was fun, relaxed, and packed with creativity....
He was always on his toes in his surroundings, looking for the next shot. He would set up one, and seem to think of the next three ideas right there and run with it.
He was very professional, and quick to respond to all of my emails. His quote and contract were very clear, and there were no surprises when it came to what we would be paying for his services.
I will always recommend Scott for any type of professional photography. I truly believe that no one else could have captured how lighthearted and whimsical our wedding day was quite like him.

Another 5 star review for Scott and he deserves it! Before we even got our photos back everyone told us how much they liked him because he's so creative and sets up such fun shots....
He commands the group very well (which is important when you have so many shots to get) but is incredibly nice.
The preview photos were posted quickly, and watching the slideshow was like reliving the day in the best way. He documented everything so beautifully and creatively.
He also carefully retouches the images afterwards, and prints them creating true treasures.
10/10 would use Scott again!!! Everyone loved him.

On our wedding day I can tell Scott & his assistant Patrick had a creative eye from the start. He wanted us to be comfortable and have fun with the shots. Throughout the day we rolled with the punches and even got some fun shots based on what was around us. Every photo came out amazing and makes it hard to pick pictures to print & add to our album. Would 100% recommend!

However, once Scott and I touched base by phone I was delighted to find Metzger Studios available in town for the Tuesday afternoon booked, and offering a reasonable package to suit our needs. Within just over a two hour span, Scott produce an array of over 300 photos so fabulous, my daughter hesitated to let me post them on social media at first for fear her friends she's had an elaborate full scale wedding and not invited them! None of us had any wedding planning experience, so Scot, like a seasoned pro, lightly guided us as needed to capture phenomenal photos capturing memories that will last a lifetime. Scott captured every moment behind the lense from out formal photos, ceremony, first look, reception, and multiple candid shots. Come the weeks leading up to our big day- Scott was so incredibly responsive and always answered every single question in such a timely manner. He helped us formulate a perfect day of timeline and also assisted in helping us think of some really good & fun shots for our shot list. Come the day of the wedding- Scott and his right hand man Javier were SOO efficient in getting SO many amazing pictures and really capturing the amazing day we had & they stayed right on schedule and did not delay our timeline what so ever which was amazing! Throughout those two years, Scott was always incredibly receptive and helpful when I reached out - even if it was just to make sure we were still on track, or just to say hello. By the time the wedding rolled around, Scott had eased every fear I had - he found a location for first look photos near the venue, had coached me on what kind of shots I might want to have, and had worked with me to figure out the timing of everything for the big day. I'll admit that my new husband and I aren't the most comfortable in front of the camera but Scott did an amazing job of keeping us smiling, happy, and looking natural throughout all of our photos. Javier was also an incredible addition to the team and acted like a guest at our wedding (in the best possible way - blending in to the crowds so he could grab shots from the middle of the action, and getting my 90 year old Nana out on the dance floor. I think she ended the night with a crush!) There was truly no angle spared, and I felt like Scott stayed for as long as I needed him to - well beyond what most photographers afford their clients! On the day of the wedding, I had a problem with my form of payment and Scott could not have been nicer about it - assuring me not to worry, and being willing to accept the second installment a couple days late because of it. Since the wedding, Scott has been prompt with communication/follow up and I could not be happier with the photos. I would highly recommend Scott and his team to anyone!

Scott was super communicative from day 1 when we first contacted him to ask about his services and how he operates as a photographer. Upon hearing his answer and learning more about his style of photography, we knew we wanted him to play a role in our special day to capture it and help make our memories last. Throughout the process of planning the wedding, Scott was great about staying in touch and planning a few times to call on the phone to touch base about the time line for the day, and responding in a timely manner to any emails we sent his way. The day of the wedding, Scott and Javier made the day so special, they came up with creative poses and photo opportunity ideas. They laughed with us all and joked around which kept the stress down to a minimum for us. The passion they both put into their work shows with how they were capturing the day, and the results were absolutley amazing upon seeing the slideshow Scott put together for us.
