The only down fall on the hair side was my mom didn't get repinned before she left and her hair fell out on one side of the look. . . as far as the make up goes ... and there is A LOT to say my mom barley had any on she did not pop instead looked very dull and pale pale pale white, I don't even think mascara was put on her face. my little sister left the room and cried and had to wipe off all of the make up and redo hers herself, I looked ghastly we had to use my own eye liner because I wanted black liner and she didn't have one that was black atleast that's what I was told, in this process the eyeliner somehow dripped onto my chest and all over my brand new get ready 100 dollar bridal pajamas. when she saw it at the end she said is that eyeliner and i said yes and she didnt do anything finally she was about to put make up on my chest and I said yo her are you going to get that out ? and she did kind of at least what would come out. she then wanted to spray make up on my chest bit I still had my shirt on because I wasnt told anything else and quite frankly I didnt understand what was going on so she I guess air brushed my chest and it looked like i had a brown area in the center of my chest. . she couldn't put my lashes in and had to call over the hairstylist to assist still she was too nervous and ended up having to give me strip lashes, this was when I was told that it was her first bridal party EVER ! I spent $3600 not including travel, tax and the $800 plus tip I gave so lets say about in the end almost $5,000. In writing I have that I would have 2 top level artists no matter what and while the hair stylist was beyond top notch the make up artist brand new didn't know what to do could only do one look no pop nothing I had to reblend my contour out because it was all over the place my bronzer on one side was all over my cheek frankly I looked horrible. i wanted to air brush but when I saw my sister crying I got scared and didnt want to chance it. I paid for hair and make up for my mother in law she only got hair still have not heard anything from them about that in regards to a refund not that they would give it. honestly horrible experience for the amount I paid for the amount my ladies paid and for what I looked like. I have pictures of me getting contoured and literally my face was missing foundation in patches. i dont do eye shadow so we agreed on a cream color for a little pop, she put pink/purple. i had to wipe off my eyeliner with her in the chair with me. at the end of it she said you made me work for this ... i paid your company 3600 dollars I should look like Jennifer Aniston right now and nope. my make up fell off my face about 30 min into the reception I had black liner smudged all under my eyes. I knew the moment she pulled out some bunk ass setting spray that I had gotten got and played a fool and my money taken. My photographers did a great job at bluring out some of the pictures for me but in the end this company was my biggest regret. I cringe just thinking about it. Shepkha the hairstylist was PHENOMENAL.

I had to postpone my June wedding until September due to Covid. Thanks to Denise, moving the date was extremely easy & she worked with me to ensure that my main artist, Adi, would be available for my new date.
On the day of the wedding, Adi and the other two artists were extremely professional and they made us feel safe and took all the necessary Covid precautions. They worked fast but did phenomenal jobs. Everyone’s makeup stayed on all evening long. No one who had an updo had hair falling out and everyone’s curls stayed perfectly in place. The makeup looked absolutely excellent. Natural and flawless!

actly as I pictured it and if I gave her any feedback or changes, she didn't hesitate to make it exactly what I wanted. My bridal party adored her as well and they were all so thrilled with how their makeup came out. We are all very different and I think it is a sign of a truly talented and brilliant makeup artist when she can still get everyone's unique style and turn it into different, yet equally outstanding looks. Denise at MG was also a dream to work with. She answered my inquiries so quickly and was able to give me quick, professional responses to any questions or concerns I had. Before MG, I had a very negative experience trying to book another makeup artist who was making up prices as he went and clearly trying to overcharge for services. I never once felt that way working with MG. They are the perfect beauty stop for a bride or bridal party looking for a professional experience working with brilliantly talented makeup artists!

Anyone who has been planning a wedding knows how much time in advance you need to book everything, especially hair & makeup..in NYC..on a holiday. MG hair & makeup could not have been easier to work with. Not only did they reply to my emails within the same day (mostly within the hour), but they also provide more than reasonable prices for their amazing services! My artist, Tracey, was the BEST! She arrived to my hotel room even earlier than expected, set up and we got right to work. She asked for pictures and gave me exactly what I was looking for, if not better. Not only is she super talented, but the sweetest easiest person to speak to. She definitely helped put my mind at ease during such a crazy morning. pleasure to hang out with her during both the trial and the wedding day. I don't wear a ton of makeup at baseline, so I was so happy that the foundation she used felt like I barely had anything on, yet it still provided full coverage.
The organization of the company was wonderful as well. I had planned out who in my bridal party was getting which services, and the company created a timeline for they day-of that was extremely clear. I requested 2 artists for 3 hours (rather than 1 for 6 hours) and while it was a little pricier, they threw in a third stylist at no charge which totally eased my mind on the timing of everything. They were right on time in the morning and finished way earlier than expected- so calm! They also come to you for everything, so I didn't have to worry about travel to/from a salon right before my wedding.
One thing to be aware of- they request full payment after your trial, so it is hard to have your bridal party pay individually for their own services. I paid up front for everyone and had to request repayment for my bridal party later, which was a bit awkward. If you choose to gift the services to your party, then it's no issue, but if not, just be prepared for the up-front payment.

over a weekend), when there was a mix-up with the initial trial date to get it re-scheduled for very soon after. My stylist was Megan O., who was great to work with, and willing to try multiple styles for both hair and makeup until she was sure I was happy with where we landed. I wanted to look like myself with a few enhancements for the day and didn’t want too much makeup weighing me down. The end result was perfect for my outdoor wedding. Megan also did a fantastic job with my bridesmaids. Even without the benefit of a trial, she nailed their hair and makeup, and I couldn’t have been more pleased. Her calm demeanor never made us feel rushed or overwhelmed and she was a great addition to our relaxed bridal suite vibe that day. If you’re looking for a service that is responsive, convenient, and provides stylists who are great at what they do, then MG is for you!

Nikolette even accommodated my mother's sudden request for a blowout, which was very much appreciated (the bill for the extra came through email quickly so payment was still quick and easy). hs before the big day, I realized it had to be done or it wouldn't get done--and the availability in the NYC metro area was, unsurprisingly, severely limited. I came across MG Hair & Makeup on The Knot and they were so accommodating of my late-to-the-game timeline. Even with weeks of me balking after initial contact, I was able to line up a hair and makeup artist 3 months before my wedding day. My stylist came to my home in Staten Island for hair and makeup trial and she listened to my every want (neutral colors on my eyes and lips, nothing even approaching dramatic, hair that was loose in design but pinned tight enough to last through a 15-hour day) and I was so happy that the results were the same on my wedding day--I felt like a more beautiful version of myself, not unrecognizable or overdone. She also did hair and makeup for my mother and three bridesmaids, though their hair did not stay as long as mine did, probably because I had a pretty rushed timeline and so most of the morning was spent on my hair and makeup. Overall, though, highly recommend if you are looking for beautiful, natural look on your wedding day--even if you are in an outer NYC borough and in a total timing bind, they'll make the whole process as simple as possible and the results are great!

ned for myself. Then I came across MG Hair and Makeup and it was the best thing that could have happened. I had my trial with Ashley and knew right away that I wanted to hire her for the wedding. She did exactly what I wanted - she made me look like a better, more enhanced version of myself, but still natural enough that I looked like me. She's also an absolute master when it comes to eyelash application, which really made a huge difference. She's equally talented when it comes to hair and really gave me the soft, romantic updo I was looking for. The day of the wedding came, and I didn't think it was possible, but Ashley did an even better job than at the trial. She really knocked it out of the park. My hair and makeup were absolutely perfect and they both held up into the next day - even in the July heat! Since we had 9 people getting services, I also had another artist, Alicia, onsite, and she was amazing as well. I was so impressed with the bridal party's hair and makeup, especially since Alicia and Ashley were working off of photos and inspirations they just received that day. They took direction so well and really listened to what people wanted. Everyone looked beautiful and I'm convinced all of the photos turned out so well because everyone really loved their hair and makeup and felt amazing. What more could a bride ask for!

They listened to what we wanted (suggested we bring photos of looks we liked) and kept everyone on time and on schedule. Cinthya did a really amazing job for me and my mother - our hair and makeup was perfect. The other two stylists who were there were alright, so I would recommend doing a hair trial for a bridesmaid as well. One of the stylists made the hair sloppy, so it threw the schedule off when Cinthya needed to fix styles to look more like the pictures we provided.
Overall I would recommend - but definitely worth getting a trial on the bridesmaids to ensure that everyone looks picture perfect.

ry talented. I had a trial with her first and she came right to my apartment, which was very convenient. She created the look I asked for and it looked amazing. I did end up changing my mind about the makeup look after the trial and wanted something a bit different, so I was a little worried how it would look on the day of the wedding as I wasn’t doing another trial.
On the day of the wedding, Cinthya was early and ready to set up. She first did hair for my two maids of honor and then did my look. As amazing as I thought my trial look was, my wedding look was about 1000 times better. I didn’t think that was even possible.
It was one of the hottest days of the year, reaching almost 100 that day, I was so worried about my makeup holding up and my hair staying put. Our first dance was also a fast swing dance, where my husband had to flip me upside down, so I really needed my hair to hold through all of this and it did! Cinthya made sure to do my makeup in a way that would not only hold up through the heat but also make me look fresh and glowy, without looking sweaty. Even when I thought I was sweating, my face didn’t show it. I also normally don’t wear much makeup so I really didn’t want the cakey look a lot of brides have, and Cinthya made sure to make it look natural and still look amazing in photos.
My hair never lost it’s volume or shape, and didn’t even look like it had much hairspray in it, it looked so natural and pretty. She did an amazing job! Thank you Cinthya!
The one thing I didn’t like about the company as a whole (nothing to do with my artist) was that they don’t really give you a chance to think since you have to book them within 48 hours of the trial and if you decide to book them after this time period, they charge you extra. I think that’s really unnecessary and only makes them lose business. They also tell you about this great special promotion for brides that lets you do hair and makeup for other wedding events for much cheaper than usual but don’t tell you that those also need to be booked at the same time as you book your wedding service. This was a bit disappointing since I didn’t even know about some of the wedding events I was having until after I booked them for my wedding.
I’m sure I will use this company in the future for other events and weddings, though, because they seem to have great artists and make it really convenient by coming straight to you. Their wedding services were very affordable, too. They are also very responsive to emails (Denise replied to emails almost immediately), accommodating, and seem to have great communication between point person (Denise) and artist.

I can't speak for their other artists, but she was so nice, so easy to work with, and did such a fabulous job on myself, my sister, mother, mother-in-law and flower girls. She was great with the little girls, great with our dog who hung out while we got ready, and when people didn't show up on time, she kept me calm. My sister and I keep thinking about where else we can go so we can use her again because we had so much fun with her and loved the way she did our hair and makeup.

his early. After a bit of searching on The Knot, Wedding Wire and Yelp, MG Hair & Makeup seemed to have the best rates for what I'd get. Even though I booked about 5 months out from my wedding, the cheapest level of stylist was already unavailable. They were still the best value!
I got matched with Talia, and I cannot say enough good things about her. She was extremely pleasant, willing to work with what I wanted, showed up early for the trail and on my wedding day and did a great job. She did the makeup so it looked natural yet my features were still highlighted for pictures.
I also have to mention Denise, who was always extremely prompt to reply to all of my questions and scheduling emails. She was also very friendly and clear, and made the whole process a lot easier.

. Denise was great to work with, quick to respond to any questions and helpful with suggestions and figuring out a time to do the trial that worked with my schedule and that of her staff. My hair and makeup was done by Mabree, who is one of the nicest individuals I've ever met and super talented on top of that. Mabree was able to work with me to come up with a look that I was happy with at the trial and then perfectly recreated it on the day of the wedding. My wedding ceremony was held at 8:45 in the morning so that meant an early day for everyone (5AM!). Mabree arrived at my hotel a few minutes early, smile on her face and ready to work! I had a long day ahead of me, my reception wasn't until 6pm that evening, so I opted for the airbrush foundation and definitely recommend it. ing married 2+ hours away from my home. My artist did a wonderful job with all makeup and hair. My only concern was that they chose an artist that lived in my neighborhood area and not in the area where my services were getting done and the day of wedding the artist was running late due to traffic. Well thats because she had to drive 2+ hours to my hotel from my neighborhood. Not the artists fault and she ended up finishing early which was great. I probably would suggest to request someone in a area closer to where your wedding location will be.

-Denise responded to every email of mine within the hour, if not within 10 minutes. Even on weekends. Your questions will be answered promptly and thoroughly
-When I had reservations about the training each artist received and the service I would receive, their founder and director offered to speak with me. We did, I am convinced of their expertise, and I am beyond grateful I went with MG.
>Style preference:
-Make-up: natural, while still looking good in pictures (I am an asian female)
-Hair: loose curls, half-up/half-down (I have thick, long hair)
>Quality of service:
-WOW. I don't usually get my make-up done because I don't trust others to know my face well enough, but Ashley blew me away. She made my make-up so good, and I still looked like myself. The right features were highlighted, and the make-up stayed on all day/night.
-My sister was so impressed after the trial that we reserved time for Ashley to do her make-up on wedding day as well
>Flexibility:
-Ashley met me, in my apartment, at 2:45am for my make-up trial. No extra charge. How crazy is that?! I wanted to schedule my trial before my engagement photoshoot, which we decided to do at sunrise. I half-jokingly asked if I could have my make-up done before then, and to my great shock, MG accommodated! You can't get more flexibility and selfless service than this.

scheduling of your trial and event is Denise, and she is incredibly accommodating and responsive. She answers emails super quickly and found ways to accommodate our needs. Second, the specific person who did my hair and makeup, Ebony, was AMAZING. When she came to do my trial, she was super friendly, took extra time to understand what I wanted, created amazing looks for my day and evening events.
