If I could give 0 stars I would. I am getting married in June of 2023, in January 2022 I signed a contract with MATTHEWS INC PHOTOGRAPHY The agreed price was $2,499.00 which is reasonable for a full-service wedding contract. HOWEVER, the first red flag was the engagement shoot, we had to wait and extra an extra 30 to 40 minutes for her to get to the meeting spot. The shoot was great but felt like it ended early because we were running out of daylight. We received our photos from our shoot a week later than promised. Fast forward to June of this year, we attended a beautiful wedding for which she was the photographer for. SHE SHOWED UP AFTER THE CEREMONY TOOK PLACE. This was the final straw for my fiancé and myself. We decided to break our contract with MI PHOTOGRAPHY, INC. and look elsewhere. When I received the cancellation contract it states: “MI Photography shall reserve the date and time agreed upon and not make any other reservations or accept any other clients for said date and time. For this reason, in the event that the Client cancels this contract for any reason, all monies paid shall be retained by MI Photography in order to offset its loss of business in addition to the engagement session ($699) that has already been delivered and completed.” Jackie owner of MI PHOTOGRAPHY, INC. is withholding $700.00 from my fiancé and I. We were told that if we cancel the contract, we were told we would be getting everything back except our deposit if we canceled later than 120 days before our wedding. We were fine with that! We have paid her $950.00, that’s including the deposit. I have NEVER heard of an engagement shoot being $700.00. We GAVE her a 10 month notice and she is still refusing to give us our money back! I am posting this because I want everyone to beware of how this “business” works. ROBBING PEOPLE BLIND. I will never give Jackie Matthews our business again and I will continue to warn people of what she is capable of. It is not fair to go back on your word that is written on a contract!
