Michael was absolutely fantastic! He was super flexible with us throughout the whole process from initial meeting, through the wedding, and even with a follow up session. He strives to give you the best product out there, and he completely succeeds. He is easy to get along with, and isn't overly dramatic like some photographers can be. He also listens to what you want as well. He comes into a session with the first question being, "What do you guys want?" This made for a great experience, not feeling like we were being completely herded to get the shots that he wants. Would totally recommend Michael to anyone out there looking for a photographer!

Michael was so easy to work with and flexible. The photos that were taken were exactly what we had envisioned when this day come. It was refreshing for our photographer and us to be on the same page to be able to remember this special day for many years to come. We incorporated dogs into our ceremony and Michael was able to capture that moment for us as well.

Michael is an amazing photographer. Our wedding photos turned out absolutely beautiful. In addition to our incredible photos, he was amazing to work with. He made our couple photos so much fun. He also goes beyond taking photos: he would help me fix my hair to ensure it looked good for the photo, he would orchestrate our families and wedding party allowing the photos to flow much more smoothly, and he even fixed my eyelashes for me. All of his roles can not be overestimated. My husband and I truly enjoyed our time with him and could not be happier with the way our photos turned out. Michael was awesome to work with. He did the engagement photos, bridal shoot and our wedding. From a price point, you could not beat his prices. At the same time we received a fantastic collection for photos that captures our story and wedding. Michael was very patient with us and was completely understanding of all the things we were asking for. My husband probably drove him crazy with all the emails but he was very understanding. I had my engagement photos, bridals, and wedding photos done with Michael Board. He was extremely understanding when I had to cancel the DAY OF my engagement photo-shoot due to food poisoning and reschedule! He was willing to listen to all the requests I made, even the most trivial details I had were important to him. Our wedding day pictures turned out great! I especially loved the in action shots of our guests playing giant jenga. Michael did a great job of capturing the tiny decorative details I put into our day. I've already recommended him to people I know who are currently in the wedding planning process!

Michael Board was our photographer for our April 23 wedding. Michael was very professional throughout the whole process. He was always quick to respond and helpful with any questions. He had a lot of experience and it shows in his great portfolio that he let us preview when we first met. His experience really showed on the day of the wedding; he knew exactly what we wanted and was very good about getting everyone organized and getting the best shots. We have already received all of our photos and they are unbelievable! Definitely 5 stars and highly recommended!

I honestly don’t know where to start with Michael. If you can find more synonyms for amazing, talented, true to his word and wonderful then please ingrain those in your mind as you read the rest of this review. We selected Michael after having met him. Just like you, we used theknot.com to find our vendors. I reached out and scheduled a meeting with him to meet with my (now) wife and I. Yes, this is a groom writing this review. We could not have been more impressed from the start. He brought pictures of his work, his work that has been published, and gave us a rundown of our day would go. He was knowledgeable, professional and above all ready and excited. He was the first vendor we booked and proved to be a great resource for many of our questions, even if they were off topic. To us Michael was more than just our photographer. He was a guide and an orchestrater for us on our wedding day. He helped to tell us where to go, where to be and what to do. He was more like a friend that happened to be very very very great at taking pictures, which is an absolute understatement. There are tons of photographers out there. Plain and simple. I am telling you though, there are not many, if any, that can match the quality of the photographs with the quality of the person. Michael is just that. In closing, I must say that my words cannot even come close to explaining how happy we are with him. I encourage you to meet with him, book him, and experience that for yourself.

I absolutely could NOT be happier with our engagement pictures! Not only was Michael easy to work with and made the entire session fun, he understood what we were hoping to achieve with our pictures and allowed for us to be natural and totally ourselves! Not a single picture looks posed or unnatural, and the attention to space and light is just perfection. I may have a few items left to check off my list for our wedding in October, but I am completely confident that the pictures will be just as breathtaking. I can't wait to see what's to come!!

Michael was amazing! He is one of the cheaper wedding photographers I could find, and yet he does such amazing work! My husband and I aren't very touchy in front of the camera, but Michael directed us through the whole thing. I made a Pinterest board of pictures I wanted him to take during my ceremony and reception, and he actually printed off the list and brought it around with us when taking pictures to make sure I got everything I wanted. He was very kind and professional. And his product is GORGEOUS!

I originally met Michael when he shot my friends wedding a couple years ago. After her wedding, we talked about how awesome the pictures were and loved how he captured so many different moments throughout the night. When I started planning my wedding, I knew we had to have him too! He made everything about our wedding day so easy and calm. He just has that kind of demeanor about him! He got all the shots we wanted and more. My husband and I BOTH cried looking at the photos because he captured so much emotion in his pictures. Michael also photographed my bridal portraits which I also love. As soon as I got to the location and got my dress on, my eyelash started coming off! Michael, with his calm and collected self, glued my eyelash back on by melting a glue stick and using a Bobby pin to apply the glue. The eyelash stayed the rest of the night. My husband and I have already said we will be using Michael for photos from here on out!

Jason and myself were very pleased with Michael. We wanted a very affordable and a memorable experience throughout our whole engagement and wedding time. Michael was very easy, fun, and laid back to work with. The pictures from our sessions were lovely and we have gotten so many compliments on them. We loved how open he was for our funny Friday the 13th Jason photo and how he caught one of our special requested Gazebo shots.

From our engagements, to my bridals, to our wedding day, my husband and I (and my parents) couldn't agree more than Michael and his wife Jennifer were worth every penny. We were searching for a good and affordable wedding photographer who would fit our laid back style... and he fit the bill perfectly. We met Michael and Jennifer at the bridal showcase in Charlotte and turned around to book him about five minutes after walking away from his booth. His photos are beautiful, and more importantly, he was easygoing and wonderful to get along with. Our engagements turned out so amazing that we thought they couldn't be topped... and boy were we wrong. The day of our wedding was muddy and rainy, but you can't tell from any of our photos. He kept us laughing and at ease throughout the entire day. The best part about Michael is that he captures the real moments. You won't see anything staged or cheesy with him. My husband and I are so thrilled to have worked with him, and we have recommended him to countless people looking for a photographer. We are so thankful to have met Michael and Jennifer, and we are so excited about the memories he captured that will last us a lifetime! ABSOLUTELY the best money we spent on the entire wedding!

Michael Board was fabulous to work with. From the bridal portraits to the ceremony and reception pics, we could not have been happier. He captured moments that I did not even know had happened until we received our pictures. I highly recommend him. You will NOT be disappointed! Going into wedding season, I had two asks of our photographer: 1. Make the bride happy 2. Keep it as painless as possible for the groom Michael did a great job on both accounts. She is in love with the final result and I managed to enjoy myself. Michael goes about his business in a professional manner that doesn't intrude on the moment. He's in the mix, grabbing the important shots, but he was never in the way. There was never an awkward moment, and no "do something silly" photo shoots (but if you're into that I'm sure he'd happily oblige). Michael is the kind of guy that can talk sports, enjoys the outdoors, and just happens to wields a mean camera. In summary, my wife had 12 bridesmaids - they all loved him. I had 12 groomsmen - they all loved him. Hats off Mr. Board. Hats off.

Michael and Jennifer were very professional and pleasant to work with! During the engagement session, Michael made me very comfortable, which is important considering I hate to have my picture taken! His pictures of the reception captured many things that we either forgot, or were unable to fully appreciate on the hectic wedding day. The best by far was the butter picture which I not have as my computer wallpaper. I just wish we could have taken Michael with us on the honeymoon so we could have had even more awesome pictures!

Capturing my wedding day was the most important thing for me and Michael did an amazing job doing just that!! Planning a wedding is fun but can also be stressful at times. Michael and Jennifer were by far the best "vendor," choice Ben and I made. He came highly recommended from a friend of our's who used them for their wedding 2 years ago. Michael was extremely easy to communicate with from our first conversation until the day of our wedding. Our engagement session went smoother than imaginable, even with my 100 lb German Sheperd being there. Michael genuinely cared about making sure he captured the type of pictures that we wanted. He made it hard on us to pick a picture for our save the dates, we loved so many of them! Him and Jennifer's professionalism and experience made the day of our wedding a breeze! They were absolutely phenomenal! They both had great recommendations as far as day of timing went. When we looked through our wedding pictures for the first time we did nothing but laugh and felt like we were reliving the day! Our Wedding happened last year was on 12/13/14, a very busy time of year for most of us with Christmas around the corner. Michael (Michael Board Photography) was such a pleasure to work with. He was very prompt on our wedding day getting there early to get the layout he would be working with, as well as meeting the Wedding Party & Director to insure he would get the right photo's at the right time. The pictures were awesome. They had great clarity and he even had a lot of the shots in black & white which really gave a totally different character to the shots. He was always in the background during the wedding and reception and just blended in so you really didn't notice him which made us and our guests never feel like we were in the way of a shot. I admit I was a little skeptical with his lower price than most wedding photographers, but I have to admit I could have paid twice as much and the pictures could not have been any better. I would highly recommend him to anyone because his work is great. As a side note he kept in touch several times along the period of time from booking him till our wedding day making sure he had all the details. Searching for a reasonably priced yet awesome photographer was one of the biggest challenges we had as an engaged couple. There are so many photographers to choose from but when we saw Michael Board Photography at a wedding show in Charlotte, we knew he could capture exactly what we wanted and in our budget. Michael was always on time for all of our photo shoots and made us feel comfortable. We had a lot of fun taking pictures... and my fiancé does not like be photographed. We thoroughly enjoyed working with Michael and his wife for our engagement, bridal, and wedding photos. Neither my husband nor I really enjoy having our picture taken, but we felt very comfortable working with Michael and Jennifer. They were very easy going and willing to go above and beyond to get the photos we wanted, which included making a 3 hour drive so we could have our engagement photos taken at Campbell University and taking bridal portraits outside in 90+ degree weather. When I was looking for a photographer for my engagement and wedding pictures, price was not the only thing I was considering. Creativity, reliability, response time, and originality were just as much, if not more, important to me. Anyone can pick up a camera, but Michael has a very special talent. From day one, ANYTIME I had a question Michael had a response and I usually got it the same day. I received my pictures back quickly and I didn't pay a fortune for them. He was always on time and ready to shoot and never hesitated when asked to do "special" shots. He didn't mind me throwing out ideas at him in the spur of the moment, and because of this I don't have cookie cutter pictures like every other wedding/engagement shoot I see. Mine are unique, mine captured the true essence of who my husband and I are, and my pictures are breathtakingly beautiful. I cannot say enough how grateful I am for such gorgeous pictures, my wedding day is perfectly preserved in photos that I will forever cherish. Michael Board photographed our wedding in Uptown Charlotte in September, and we could not be any more happy with the results! Michael had a very professional and easy to get along with personality, which helped keep a calm rhythm throughout our big day. He arrived right on time, and ensured that we had taken all the photos we wanted before leaving. We also loved that he brought his wife who was shooting photos throughout the night from different angles. This was especially great for capturing the ceremony itself. All of our family photos turned out crystal clear and well lit; he was even able to make everyone look natural which is no easy task! After the ceremony, we headed outside and he got some amazing photos of the bridal party posing at various places in uptown Charlotte. We could not be more happy with the experience we had and we HIGHLY recommend him for any event.

I got married this past July and used Michael for the photography. He was wonderful! At our initial meeting with Michael, both my fiance and I were impressed with his easy manner and his low pressure presentation - plus the quality of his photos - that we decided to book him for our January 2014 wedding. Michael took our engagement pictures in the fall of 2013 and we LOVED them! He was easy to work with, had some fun ideas and was open to any requests that we made. We had requested a 2nd shooter and his wife Jennifer came on the day of our wedding to take pictures from other angles. Both we very professional and I barely noticed that they were there! The final pictures arrived a few days ago and my husband and I are having a great time looking through them - we just can't seem to pick a favorite! Michael captured so many special moments - in beautiful, colorful detail. We had a great experience and would recommend Michael to other brides!

Michael did a great job with all of our pictures. We booked him for engagement, bridals, and for the wedding. He was very patient with me (the bride) and allowing me to really utilize our personalities shine in our pictures. He was willing to go to multiple locations and really worked to get the shots we wanted with both engagement and bridals. On the day of the wedding, we had a bit of a sticky situation- torrential rain. We were unable to get the outdoor shots we wanted until after the wedding, and then our time was limited with the amount of daylight left. Michael did a great job of just going with the flow and doing what he could to make things painless. The real reason we went with Michael was not only the quality of his photos, but his friendly nature. My husband is a bit of a "shy guy" and for some reason I felt that he and Michael would hit it off. I was right, and my husband was able to relax (somewhat) during a big pressure day. I attribute much of that ease to Michael's personality and experience with weddings. I highly recommend Michael. He will do his best to get the shots you want, just let him know ahead of time. Like anyone involved in a wedding, photographers have a lot going on, and a list will help. Thanks Michael for all you did for us!

It is hard to write a review for Michael (& Jennifer ;)!) because I could just go on and on about how wonderful and amazing our experience was with them. Seriously, incredible! From the moment we had our engagement shoot, we definitely felt a great vibe & knew Michael was going to be able to capture who we are in the photos. The whole photo process from engagement to bridal to wedding day was so easy and stress free. He definitely has a way to make you feel comfortable in front of the camera! His attention to detail and professionalism are unmatched. The memories that Michael has given us will be treasured forever! I cannot wait to work with Michael again for our 1 year "love shoot"! Michael really captured the day in a way that we could never have even thought. When things are happening it goes so fast so its nice to be able to go back and see the things that we might have missed otherwise. My grandparents are getting older and the pictures that Michael was able to capture of them are some of the most precious things I will ever own. Short & Sweet: Michael is a great photographer at an awesome price! He captures the moments that are important to a wedding and does a great job capturing the feel of your wedding. He’s easy to work with a willing to work with your schedule. You will be happy with your choice if Michael is your photographer! Photography was a super important part of my wedding day and I spent months looking for the exact right photographer (at the right price). Michael Board Photography was that for us. His work is fantastic and he is super talented. He takes great pictures without getting in the way but he will definitely get the important shots. Michael is very responsive to what you're looking for in pictures. If you let him know a certain pose/picture you want or a moment that you know will be important (e.g. - father/daughter dance), he will make that a priority. He is very easy to work with and is willing to reschedule your sessions if needed. We had to reschedule our engagement session because of bad weather. When we finally did reschedule it was something totally different than or original plan. Michael just went with the flow and was willing to work around our schedules. The only reason I have a four stars in the service is because it takes a long time to get the finished pictures back from Michael. It took about 8 weeks to get our wedding pictures back. But every picture is worth the wait! Michael's prices are extremely reasonable as well and he transparent with his prices on his website (instead of making you email to find out a price). We chose his package with an engagement session and 7 hours at the wedding. That was perfect for what we needed and more importantly it fit into our budget. I stumbled upon Michael Board Photography on theknot.com when searching for a photographer in the Charlotte, NC area. We did not want to break the bank on photography but I had my heart set on a more journalistic photography style to capture the moments of our wedding. Not only did Michael Board Photography meet our requirements but he far exceeded our expectations. From the numerous planning meetings/e-mails to the engagement photo session, bridal portraits, and wedding day photos, Michael was always so thoughtful and personable in his approach to making sure we had the best experience. Michael was willing to travel to various locations for each session. He stayed actively engaged through the wedding planning and even offered tips on how to coordinate certain aspects of the reception based on his experiences with the venue. At the e-session, Michael helped us feel comfortable as neither my husband nor I were familiar with having our picture taken over an extended period of time. The pictures came out very natural and Michael even indulged my husband when he had his own "creative" poses. Just based off a few meetings and a questionnaire, Michael was able to capture our personalities on camera without looking forced. Because the bridal portraits were taken on a hot July day, Michael took extra consideration in making sure I didn't get overheated and that my make-up stayed looking fresh. Michael not only has an eye for capturing the sun beaming through trees but in taking photos that make you feel truly beautiful. On our wedding day, Michael was with us before the ceremony up until we left the reception in a limo. Michael was able to capture pictures from the day that we didn't even know occurred. Michael Board Photography also always delivered the pictures timely on DVDs (print and web resolution quality) in clever (and cute) packaging. In my opinion, Michael's secret weapon just might be his lovely bride. She accompanied him during the bridal portraits to offer a woman's touch and a little peppermint oil (for behind my ears) and ice water within reach to keep me cool. She also saved the day by re-organizing our seating cards at the reception. There were little things Michael Board Photography did that went above what you would expect from a wedding photographer. I think the whole experience demonstrated that Michael has a passion for people and photography. Not only would I recommend Michael Board Photography to any bride, we plan to use his services to help capture future life moments.

We are so thankful that we found Michael Board Photography and cannot recommend his services enough. Michael and Jennifer photographed my bridal portraits and as well as our entire wedding day. From the moment I met them I felt completely comfortable and at ease. Despite the less-than-flattering weather the day of the bridal portraits, Michael was still able to capture stunning photographs. After our first meeting at the bridal portrait session, my mother and I were blown away by their professionalism, attention to detail, and eye for amazingly beautiful shots. Jennifer was there to assist Michael every step of the way and they were able to keep me calm and cool in my uncomfortable dress on such a hot and humid day. We did not hire a videographer so we are very thankful to have SO many amazing photos to relive that day. The quality of the photos really is indescribable. They are even better than the photos we see in wedding magazines and websites. Our families and friends are certainly not models but definitely look like it in the photos!
