Choosing a wedding photographer can be stressful because this is the person charged with capturing one of your most important life moments. Working with Michael Brook was a breeze! From the moment we sat down and talked to him, we immediately felt like old friends. He can make anyone feel comfortable in front of a camera and he has a knack for capturing the sweetest, candid moments. Michael also made sure to learn who the most important people in our wedding were so that he could get as many pictures of them as possible. On the day of the wedding, he was punctual, energetic, and professional. He brought an assistant that was just as wonderful and together they captured beautiful photographs that we will forever cherish. I would recommend Michael to anyone looking for a stress-free wedding with gorgeous photographs!

Before working with Michael, I found myself somewhat skeptical of his 80+ perfect reviews. Could that be real?!? Now that he's shot my wedding, there is no doubt that he deserves that perfect rating and more. Michael was incredible to work with from day 1. He communicated promptly and easily and asked all the right questions about our vision for the day. He expressed genuine excitement and had immediate ideas about how he could fit in and enhance the experience. Leading up to the wedding, I never once felt like I had to worry about whether I was a priority to him and whether he would come through (and that most definitely is NOT a given. I should mention that he made me feel this taken care of even though I did NOT book him for an entire day and had a smaller wedding that only required a few hours.) The day of, he was so easy-going and professional. He somehow made everyone feel at ease, remembering family members' names and juggling all personalities and quirks. I felt incredibly hectic and stressed the entire day and somehow Michael made that melt away as soon as he showed up. He was prompt, organized, thoughtful, quick on his feet, and also kind and funny to be around. If that all wasn't enough, he also captured gorgeous photographs (way cooler than I could have imagined, honestly) and had them back to me quickly. I really can't say enough about this experience. He blew us away. He was the shining light of my wedding and by far the best "vendor" decision I made that day.

Michael was so great and we could not be happier with our choice of photographer! I met with him a year in advance and he was always available and responsive to answer all of my million questions. He initially stood out because of his excellent candid photos, they are amazing and he did not disappoint! His portraits are also outstanding and he gave valuable instructions in an encouraging way for the intimate photos and large group shots. Always attentive to our needs and wishes for the day, he talked with me on the phone about 6 months before the event to get a better idea of what was important to capture on the day. A month before, he sent me a file to fill out of who was important to know (he memorized all the names of people in the wedding party) and what photos were essential to get. All day he was behind the scenes taking pictures and we were thrilled with the final collection of photos. He dresses to fit into your setting, my wedding was formal and he wore a nice black suit. He was very enthusiastic about the pictures, gave great instruction for the portraits when needed, and added a positive presence to the day that was appreciated by everyone. Of all the vendors involved in the wedding, Michael stood out as the highlight and I’m so glad he was part of the day. The pictures and memories he captured were priceless and I would highly recommend Michael for any event!

We had the most fantastic experience with Michael. His professionalism and attention to detail are much to be praised. He left such a great impression on our guests. They absolutely loved him! He was patient and understanding during the most stressful moments, and he was so great at making sure everyone was positioned just right for each photograph. We really liked working with Michael! He is a soft spoken man who has a keen artistic eye. Initially, we chose him because his photos looked natural and vibrant, but after meeting in person we really liked his calm demeanor. With the amount of stress that can be experienced in wedding planning, he was like a breath of fresh air. We were not used to being in front of the camera to that extent, but he always made us feel relaxed. We found it particularly helpful when he guided us along with the wedding party to be positioned in the best light and flattering angles. He also gave a very quick turn-around with our wedding photos. If you haven't been a part of a professional shoot before, Michael is a wonderful choice.

Michael Brook is an excellent photographer and an excellent communicator. The latter quality was very important to me and my husband because we were planning the wedding remotely and wanted to minimize the stress. Michael was very responsive via email and also provided the photos about 12 days after the wedding (while we were still on our honeymoon even). On the day of, we found him to be very friendly and easy to work with. The photos themselves are beautiful and fun, and we're sill enjoying looking at them weeks later (and hopefully for years to come!). My husband and I both happily recommend him to anyone getting married in the area.

We are so glad that we chose Michael to capture our wedding day. He made the shortlist based on the numerous awards and glowing reviews he has earned, and his photojournalistic style appealed to us because we aren't into cheesy poses. When we actually met him for the first time, I was instantly at ease with his warm personality, gentle humor, and obvious wealth of experience. He never pressured us to spend more than we were comfortable doing. We did an engagement shoot which was actually a lot of fun and was good practice for being ourselves in front of a camera. On the big day he bravely came to the hotel at 4:30AM (we had constraints on the timing of our ceremony for religious reasons) and even offered to bring coffee for us! Throughout the day he remained discreet, and I often forgot I was being photographed which was a good thing. He had the online images ready within a couple of days and was very responsive about retouching images and was flexible about the album design. I highly recommend him - my sister is getting married next year and I've already told her she shouldn't bother interviewing any other photographers!

It was a pleasure and honor to work with Michael. He is so patient and knowledgeable, and worked really closely with me and my husband to make sure we had to photos and vibe we wanted. He was very flexible with requests on specific shots I did and did not want, and also has a flair for capturing details. A sense of community was very important to me for the occasion, and Michael was able to photograph so many candid moments at the perfect time. Beyond making us all look beautiful, he captured a sense of the relationships and emotions of the day - every time I look at our album, it takes me right back to the wedding. Michael is an extremely talented photographer with the most calm, relaxed, and professional demeanor. He photographed my friend's wedding (in which I was a bridesmaid), and I knew that I would hire him for my own wedding because he did such a fantastic job. I called the photography studio at the last minute to schedule an intimate private wedding due to family health issues. Michael was very attentive and prompt. He delivered all that he promised and more. I was so excited that I ended up with 200+ photos!!! When I saw them back I was surprised at how much he was able to capture. When planning our wedding, photography was one of the most important pieces to the puzzle. I was lucky enough to witness first hand Michael's amazing photography skills at my sister's wedding. First let me start off by saying how friendly and helpful Michael is. He took the time to really listen to understand what I was looking for . The photos were amazing. He captured all that I wanted plus more. He is now our family photographer! Any new addition to our family Michael will be taking the first shots! Everybody who start planning for a wedding knows all the stress that comes along with the preparation. Having contractors like Michael really made a difference as every body felt at ease with him, lowering the level of stress ! Very reliable, Michael is fun to work with and build very quickly a relation of trust (we organized our party mostly remotely). Michael took our engagement photos and they turned out better than we ever thought they could. What can I say about Michael? He photographed my best friend's wedding and I knew then that I wanted to work with him. He's so calm and positive that he makes everything around him feel peaceful. I had a great meeting and correspondence with Michael through our first emails when I asked to hold my date, to engagement session, to payment plan/retainer. I was ready to sign the contract and send the 1st half of the deposit. 2 days after our payment arrangement he emails me to say that he is regretful to inform me that he has become booked on my wedding date. I was dumbfounded - who can we set up a payment plan and then suddenly you book with someone else? As the person who first held the date, I should've been alerted that he had others looking at my date and then given then opportunity to get my payment in first or otherwise lose the date. I cannot believe that he didn't give me this opportunity. Looking back its probably for the best - my engagement photos were decent but some directly during the session could've clearly helped (meaning, if my hair was flying all over the place, he could've asked me to fix it before snapping the picture). I'm super disappointed and now I'm in a panic to find a new photographer.

Michael met with us before our wedding to discuss our preferences and to get a sense of what we were looking for. David was our photographer. David called us to talk about the specifics and talked us through the details. He was great and fun to work with. The photographs came out great. Michael processed the photographs and shared them with us within a week of our wedding. Both Michael and David were a pleasure to work with.

We contacted Michael while we were living in London, and he was incredibly accommodating. We told him we were going to have a non-traditional wedding and he was completely on board with what we had in mind. Our photos were gorgeous, crisp, and natural. His style is more photojournalist and less staged than other photographers we have seen. While he did get some large staged shots, he was also able to catch some great little moments without intruding. He did not push anything on us that we did not already discuss with him. A great guy, a great experience, and one less thing that we had to worry about on our wedding day.

My husband Stephen and I got married two weeks ago in Providence, RI. We feel SO pleased that we chose Michael to be our photographer and are SO satisfied with his work. In my search for a photographer, I looked for: 1) the ability to capture light / bright-looking wedding photos, 2) the ability and intuition for good capture of emotions and happenings, and 3) affordable for Stephen and me. I decided to contact Michael after seeing that he had been named "Best of Weddings" on the Knot for five years in a row, reading a lot of positive reviews, and looking at his portfolio online. Meeting Michael in person was a special experience for Stephen and me. Michael exudes kindness! You will know what I mean when you work with him. It was really a joy to meet him. We had many questions for him and he gave us respectful and informative answers. In our subsequent correspondence leading up to the wedding, Michael continued to impress us because he was accessible, receptive to our requests, and organized. I had a lot of trust in Michael on our wedding day. I felt comfortable the moment he arrived and confident that he would do a good job. Throughout the day, he gave helpful instructions for various shots and worked efficiently. We all felt comfortable with him! At one point during the reception, Stephen and I marveled over the personalized menu and asked Michael to take photos of it, only to learn he had already captured that detail and much more. At the end of the day, we spontaneously asked if we could pay him to stay another hour, a request that he graciously accepted. We were pleased to receive positive comments about our photographer from our family; one family member commented, "He's very good. You didn't really notice him until he wanted to make himself noticed." This trait was crucial for group shots of different sides of our family (large family, dozens of people from each side, let me tell you), with everyone looking in different directions, fidgety young children, and other iPhone-equipped family members competing with Michael for shots. Michael handled these situations very well. Stephen and I were pleasantly surprised on our honeymoon to receive a link from Michael to the viewing gallery of our photos. Soon thereafter, he linked us to the final gallery of edited photos. When asked for CD's of the photos, the very next day Michael met with Stephen to give them. We were so pleased with his promptness. We LOVE our wedding photos. I can hardly believe they're pictures of us! Bright, well-framed, beautiful, and opportune captures. Stephen and I are so pleased we have these photos at a price that was affordable to us. We highly recommend Michael. Not only is his work such high quality, but interacting with him is a true pleasure. Like I said before, Michael exudes honesty and kindness. You will know what I mean when you work with him.

Michael was so nice! He remembered the names of the entire bridal party before the ceremony. He was very flexible with the date/time of my wedding. He was also able to make arrangements through e-mail since I live out of town and always responded to my e-mails promptly.

Michael Brook was SPECTACULAR to work with for our wedding, I cannot recommend him highly enough! I contacted him on pretty short notice for a wedding (5 months out) with a smaller than usual, somewhat out-of-the-box backyard event, and he was totally flexible in providing what we needed. He checked in regularly with me during the planning process, and he was always upbeat and excited about the big day, which made me more excited! As the day approached, Michael set up a call to get a feel for the specific shots we wanted to capture as well as the feeling that we wanted from our photos. We shot in a bunch of different locations with different lighting and other logistical challenges, and Michael handled them all like a pro, while helping us feel relaxed. As a business owner, Michael was very straightforward - we knew exactly what to expect ahead of time. He was extremely accommodating in giving us control over our images. He was absolutely professional throughout our experience, and made things easier for us at every turn. As I looked around during our toasts toward the end of the evening and saw Michael - shooting while mixing with our friends and family and having a great time himself - I knew we had worked with the perfect photographer. Michael was great. He was very organized and met with us shortly before the wedding to address any concerns. He was able to get some specific shots we had asked for. He learned the names of our immediately families and bridal party so fast and put everyone at ease when doing pictures. He moved around seemlessly at the wedding and didn't draw attention away from the festivities. We got our pictures back SUPER fast and were really impressed by his work.

Dave and I were recently married in Mattapoisett, MA in late September. Michael met us at our rehearsal dinner venue and took both candid and posed shots. It was so nice getting beautiful pictures taken in a more relaxed setting prior the wedding. It doesn't get any better than Michael Brook Photography. Micheal perfectly captured our December 2011 wedding in Southern California. I, as the groom, had only a few responsibilities for the wedding and I'm humble enough to say that I knocked it out of the park with MBP. What a joy to work with. He made everything easy and made US feel completely comfortable. And the photos! So great. Our wedding album is stunning and we (possibly annoyingly so) show EVERYONE when they come to our home. Now that we're expecting our first child, I'm reminded of Michael and hope to have him as the photographer at the birth (J/K!).

My wedding day was the best day of my life and I had the most fun I've ever had with all of my family and friends. But it also flew by. Thanks to Michael, I have amazing pictures that will last forever. Michael took over 2,000 quality photos of me, my family, my friends, couples together, family shots, and little details. As the bride, I missed things like my cocktail hour, my harpist at cocktail hour, and the desert table. Michael captured all of the details and decor, while still focusing on the people. Our wedding pictures were back very quickly and were great quality. I had about 175 people at my wedding and I highly recommend Michael for any wedding large or small!

We interviewed a few photographers, and Michael immediately struck as someone who was—to use an overused, but in this case, completely appropriate term—a professional. First off, his book was filled with gorgeous pictures, many of them candids, or at least the types of shots that go beyond the typical posed photo that we've all seen a zillion times. These were artfully shot pictures, with attention to lighting and composition and often capturing some detail or aspect that might easily be overlooked, but that end up as the images that reflect an event's individual personality and character. Michael's calm demeanor and reassuring manner during our initial meeting gave us the confidence that he would be good to work with on a potentially frenetic day, and that was the case. We told him that we did not want our wedding and reception to be about taking pictures—we'd rather miss Aunt Sally in a group photo than completely miss our cocktail hour—but rather we were relying on Michael to document the event as we participated fully and enjoyed our special day. Michael understood completely and he worked within that, identifying opportunities for great shots along the way, and worked quickly and efficiently to get through the group shots we wanted—he seems to have a natural ability to effortlessly direct large groups of people—without taking any more pictures than necessary, so things kept moving. Michael captured all the critical moments before, during and after the ceremony and at the reception, as well as dozens and dozens of portrait-quality images of guests—both candids and quick poses---and details from throughout the afternoon and evening. Perhaps my favorite pictures were from the dancing at the reception, where Michael's documentary-style action shots captured the exuberance and joy of the guests as they careened around the floor, or, in quieter moments, couples dancing cheek-to-cheek under the shifting colored lights. Michael was put on the spot when, unexpectedly, a fireworks show erupted over the harbor in the middle of our reception, and we now have a series of incredible, amazing, picture-perfect fairy-tale-wedding images of us smiling, kissing, twirling, and being in love while fireworks explode above our heads. Afterwards, Michael gave us access to an on-line gallery that allowed us to view all his images in one mega slide show, or within more manageable categories ("Pre-Ceremony"; "Ceremony": "Details"; etc.), and provided all the original image files---gigabytes and gigabytes worth---for downloading via DropBox. I could not have been happier with our choice for our special day, and I could not have been more impressed with the job Michael did. We felt as if we were in the hands of a real pro the entire time.

One of the best decisions we made for our wedding was hiring Michael as our photographer. Not only is he a VERY talented photographer who took 100's of beautiful portraits and candid photos throughout our wedding day, but he is an absolute pleasure to work with! Michael always responded in real-time to my emails and gave detailed answers to my question prior to the wedding. We also chose to do an engagement shoot with him and had an absolute blast doing so! He arrived early the day of the wedding (which makes every bride relaxed), and during our photo sessions he always remained calm, focused, and organized. He brought the list of pictures I had previously told him I would like to take and was flexible enough to take spontaneous photos as I came up with them throughout the day. While on our honeymoon I got an email from him saying my gallery was ready for viewing online and I had digital copies of all our pictures within a month after our wedding. I 100% recommend Michael to all brides and would definitely use him again for other milestones in mine and my husbands lives. Thank you for everything Michael we loved working with you.

Michael did a wonderful job. Prior to the weddding he was organized and reposonsive to all of my emails and phone calls. He adjusted well to last minute requests that I had. I had so much trust in Michael going into my wedding day, that I was able to remain stress-free throughout. He kept us on schedule throughout the day so that I did not have to worry to look at the clock. The photographs turned out wonderfully. He captured all of the shots I was hoping to have of the wedding, plus many more that have turned out to be my favorites. All of his photos really captured the emotion and excitement of the day. Our wedding party had pictures taken in the Boston Common and Michael knew the best locations for beautiful photos and was organized in fitting in all of our must-have portraits within a short time frame. Michael was very promt in editing the photos and uploading them to the website. The wedding album is beautiful with crisp high quality photos and will be something that we will treasure forever. absolutely wonderful to work with! very responsive to emails/phone calls. he memorized everyone's name in the bridal party which made for a super easy and smooth portrait session. the best thing about his work is that he is very inconspicuous, you don't even notice him taking photos at the event. i've been to many weddings where the photographer was front and center with all their lighting equipment that they blocked the ceremony. definite thumbs up for Michael Brook! bonus: he found my husband's wedding ring when he lost it dancing at the reception. now THAT'S customer service :)

Michael Brook was a fabulous photographer at our wedding in Somerville, MA in May 2012. We chose him because we loved his candids and he did not disappoint. He also did a great job with the portraits. He was with us for 6 hours and he was nothing but professional the whole time and always had a smile on his face. He had great ideas that made for great portraits and he was extremely flexible. He even gave some of the parents a ride to the reception. Everyone has commented that our pictures are fabulous and for the cost, we think we got a great value. He was easy to work with and plan for the event as well. He seemed to disappear in to the background and still got amazing pictures. We asked him to edit a few pictures where a strap from my dress was showing that should not have been and he made the edit quickly and very well. We can't say enough good things about Michael. He had our pictures to us very quickly (I can't remember, but I think it was between 1 and 2 weeks) and he even hand delivered the DVD of full resolution pics to us. We highly recommend Michael Brook as a photographer for your event!

Michael was such a pleasure to work with. From our first meeting, I immediately felt comfortable with his calm professionalism - we really appreciated that he was able to offer very helpful guidance without being at all pushy. He really listened to our needs and our desires for the day. And the photos were beautiful! My husband hates having his photo taken and generally appears stilted in photos, but Michael managed to capture many lovely moments for us. We also appreciated Michael's willingness to go with the flow, changing schedules for before the ceremony photos at a moment's notice. In short, I would highly recommend Michael!

Michael delivered exactly what I asked: a record of our wedding day that was more documentary style rather than super posed, formal, or overly processed. It seemed from his website that he was one of the more versatile photographers in the Boston area, so when we met, I showed him the photos of his that I really responded to. Don't get me wrong, we do have a bunch of really gorgeous formal shots. But we also have amazing candid shots that helped me recall the evening, which was quite hectic and a blur. Michael was very professional and speedy in his correspondence and manner, and super easy going. He also was very unimposing while he worked, which was great. Thank you Michael for such an amazing record!

I loved Michael Brook. We chose him because he was actually there when my husband proposed -- just a coincidence. He was photographing another couple in the Public Garden, saw my husband drop to his knee, and rushed over to take a few pictures. We then exchanged email addresses and he sent them to us. He was so excited for us and kind (and professional), so we decided it was fate and used him for the wedding. I like him because he is laid-back and really sweet. The weather on our wedding day was so bad and all of our plans to take pictures outside around the beach were pretty much ruined. But, he was so relaxed and had a plan B and really put us at ease. He could have panicked, but he was completely calm. And, of course, the photos are wonderful and full of personality, which was exactly what we wanted.

Michael was a real sweetheart about everything! He put us at ease, made sure he captured all the moments that we wanted, and did it all with genuine sensitivity and caring. I'd recommend Michael to any couple looking for quality, whether gay, straight or anything in between.
