Michael did such a great job on our wedding on 12-16-23! We took our portraits around the quarter before the wedding and he made us feel really comfortable and just let us go with the flow. He also helped with poses since taking pictures can be awkward. Once the ceremony and reception started, I barely noticed him haha. But I am so thankful for all of the pictures he took and his reasonable prices, especially if you are having a smaller wedding.

Michael was on time and very professional. He kept up communications before and after so we knew exactly where we were in the process. Gave us freedom to pick locations for pics but also directed us on the best lighting/placement/poses and made sure we got all the shots we wanted before he packed up; our pictures turned out great! The quality of the prints he produced are excellent as well. Definitely recommend him for wedding photography!

We just got our wedding pictures back (after only 3 weeks) and WOW! Michael made us look like models. He instructed us just enough to get amazing shots without being intrusive. Given we had a full day of events, the fact that he worked with us to keep our budget manageable was a huge bonus. I used Michael Caswell Photography for my daughter's wedding in November. He and his assistant did an amazing job. We felt comfortable all night and he took so many fabulous shots. He was easy to work with and I highly recommend him as a wedding photographer. We couldn't be more pleased with the photographs we received. He is professional to work with and on top of that friendly as well. We also used him for her engagement photos and it was an excellent experience.

Michael was professional and efficient. We did our engagement photos with him as well as our wedding. He got so many photos during our one hour engagement shoot! It was awesome. We have gotten a sneak peak at our wedding photos and they are perfect. He was also very on board with our food photo shoots at the end of the engagement session and wedding 😂 He was so much fun to work with. We really enjoyed our time with him.

Michael was awesome photographing our elopement. Being from Ohio, we were out of our element finding a photographer to document our special day in New Orleans, but after doing a rather exhaustive search online, I was lucky enough to find Michael. I reached out to him via email and he almost immediately responded back. I discussed w/him what we liked, what kind of places we were looking for and right away he had a game plan. Unfortunately, the COVID lockdowns hit and we decided that it would be better to postpone our elopement from last year to this year (2022). I contacted Michael and he couldn't have been more understanding and accommodating as we pushed our date back a year. Our day finally came and again, being from out of town we were nervous about how everything was going to work out, but Michael had everything worked out and it was a stress free and perfect afternoon in The French Quarter. He had all of the areas that we wanted mapped out and showed us several places that we of course didn't even know about. The pictures came out amazing and everyone that has seen them have commented how great they are. Michael was very professional, personable and we couldn't have been happier. Michael accommodated us with our special requests which we were very appreciative of. It made us out-of-towners feel like we were able to capture the at-home perks. Our pictures came out like they're from an editorial magazine!

I would add as many stars in the galaxy if I could. Mine was an unorthodox wedding featuring costumes, props, performances, and many big and colorful personalities from all over the country. Michael didn't just document the madcap fun; he captured and memorialized it, gorgeously. The "wows" and "oh my Gods!" are coming in from all our guests seeing them for the first time. Artist-meets-documentarian. And, a total professional who did what he said he would do, delivered when and how he said he would, for the price quoted. without a nudge or reminder. Superb.

5 stars all around! We hired Michael as our wedding day photographer. We talked with him a few times on the phone before the big day. Throughout all our interactions he was polite and professional. He sent a questionnaire to us beforehand so we could fill him in with all the details. I also had a long list of “must have” picture combinations that I provided to him as well. He arrived with a second shooter on the day of. Everything was smooth and he captured all of the pictures I requested plus more. We received our photos within a reasonable time frame after the wedding. We were impressed with the quality and quantity of photos. The pictures are perfect and we will cherish them for years to come. He exceeded our expectations!

Michael and his team were amazing. He was super responsive throughout the whole process. On wedding day he was very attentive to my husband and I, checking in to see how we were doing and making sure nothing was missed while at the same time melting into the background and allowing us to share this special time with each other. Michael was fantastic. He communicates mostly by email which works well for me. I was able to keep track of his recommendations and review later if needed. He responds quickly and was very easy going. He was so easy to work with and I am so pleased with the results. My father loved him and thought he was very polite and easy to work with as well. Michael captured gorgeous photos of us, our wedding, and our reception! If you want more live-action, photojournalistic photographs, Michael is the BEST! Our photos from the reception bring back the most fun moments of our wedding. Most of the time, I didn't even know Michael and Sara were there taking pictures, which allowed me to enjoy the day and evening without having to think about which pictures I needed/wanted to take. I also loved how the photos look so realistic. Michael's editing style makes sure that moments are captured clearly and without filters that may not age well.

I got married on January 29, 2022 in Picayune and just wanted to say that Mr. Caswell is wonderful! From start to finish I could not recommend him enough. He is one of the few vendors who has an answer to every question I could think of on his website. I'm the type of person that pays attention to the little details and he was the only vendor that I had to ask just one question: are you available for my wedding day? I am SO happy he was! Mr. Caswell was fantastic to work with. He even met us at our outdoor ceremony location so we could determine what time of day would have the best light for our ceremony and our family portraits afterwards. Our wedding day was wonderful! We got our wedding photos back recently and we love all of them! It is going to be hard to decide which ones we want to print, frame, or put in an album because they are all so beautiful. 10/10!

Michael Caswell is the most amazing photographer! I did a lot of research before I chose him and made the perfect choice. He listened to all our requests and documented our most special night exactly the way we envisioned it. He came early and stayed late to make sure he captured all our special moments. He brought Allison with him and they were a great team. So many incredible photos to choose from. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Michael Caswell is the absolute best wedding photographer in New Orleans. We hired him early 2021 for our engagement photos where he captured beautiful (and fun!) photos in Audubon Park; he really let us be ourselves but still gave guidance on positioning (much needed since we're definitely awkward with photos!!), and captured both formal shots and wonderful candids. We knew immediately during our engagement shoot that he was THE person to capture our big day! Fast forward a year and a half to our wedding day, and Michael was truly incredible. Ours was a Jewish wedding with multiple events leading up to the actual ceremony & reception, and he (+ his assistant) captured every moment with ease. He expertly and swiftly guided family members-- easier said than done when you're trying to organize 20+ family members, bridesmaids, groomsman, etc for formal group shots-- and kept on our wedding planner's timeline perfectly. Michael's magic comes from his ability to shoot timeless, artistic shots without you realizing he even took the picture. When we were walking down the aisle, saying our vows, out on the dancefloor, second lining, cutting cake, laughing with friends, and other countless moments from the joyous occasion, he was able to capture every moment flawlessly without being in our face or getting in our Guests' views. We could truly enjoy our event trusting that he was capturing it, without feeling the need to pose or ensure we were facing the camera at all times. We even had Guests come up to us after the wedding (even before seeing any photos!) complimenting his style and how wonderful it was to have such a skilled photographer navigating the event. Look no further and book Michael. You AND your guests will love him!

Michael was courteous, smart and easy to work with. He was very accommodating and eased the stress of taking photos in the limited amount of time we had. He is also very reasonably priced. I would recommend Michael for any event in the New Orleans area.

This guy was fantastic! I've never seen pictures like his at other weddings. Standard wedding pictures are always necessary but what is missing from other photographers is getting into the reception and catching the fun moments that really make the wedding memorable. Barely noticed he was there but he got the best moments. A month after the weeding, we still keep looking at the pictures and laughing!

Michael was so lovely to work with when he photographed our wedding in October 2021. Completely professional, engaged, on time, and always where he needed to be. He somehow made himself blend into the crowd but was also right there to capture every important moment. I appreciated his creative eye and how he listened to my tastes and feedback - I didn't want to do a lot of overly staged/posed photos, and he made sure to capture the traditional classic photos but then stick to more candids. Michael was wonderful! When I first began planning the wedding, I knew that having a good photographer would be important. Since the day goes by so fast I wanted someone who would make sure they got all of the requests for photographs. During one of our first meetings with Michael, I requested that I get a picture with my cats in my wedding dress. On the day of the wedding I forgot about this request, but he took the time to make sure we got the perfect shots. Also, for my bridal portraits he had the pictures ready within the week of the portraits. He does great work and he makes sure that all of your requests are met. I would HIGHLY recommend him!

Words can't explain how happy we are that we chose Michael Caswell Photography for our destination wedding in New Orleans. From the beginning, Michael was very prompt and thorough. My wedding was scheduled for April 2020 but postponed to October due to the pandemic. We did not think this wedding would take place this year however, it did. Two months before the wedding, we had to find another venue to host the reception due to COVID restrictions. Not knowing what to do, I reached out to Michael, and he immediately gave us a list of recommendations. Michael also kept us informed about the opening phases for the City of New Orleans and surrounding areas. Michael was very accommodating with all the changes made due to the pandemic. Seeming that everything was on track for the big day, Hurricane Delta decided to hit Louisiana the same weekend of my big day! The wedding ceremony was to be outdoors in a museum's courtyard and a backyard reception on Lake Pontchartrain. As you can imagine, I was nervous about the weather. Michael reassured that everything would be okay and was ready to accommodate any further changes. Luckily the weather was perfect on my big day! Being that we had two venues, Michael was with us all day. He felt like a part of the family. He captured so many beautiful moments from the wedding and reception. The sunset photos on the lake were amazing. We even did a day after photo shoot the next morning in the French Quarter and those photos were also great. His versatility and style are exceptional! We were awed by how beautiful our photos looked. Michael's style of photography tells a picturesque story and my photos are evidence of just that. He truly knows how to capture every moment regardless of how big or small. My photos vividly take you back to the exact moment during that day. We also received our pictures quickly in a few weeks. We were successfully able to have a small wedding safely during this COVID pandemic. It was already a challenge planning a wedding in New Orleans while living in Georgia, but the pandemic made things even more challenging. Michael helped us fulfill these challenges. I couldn't imagine anyone else capturing my big day. Michael is very personable and professional. He's an excellent communicator and is ready to answer any questions you may have. We could not have picked a better photographer! All of our pictures are incredible and full of color and elegance. He did the photography for our engagement shoot and wedding day. I would HIGHLY recommend your choosing Michael Caswell Photography! My husband and I got married at St. Mary's (Ursuline Convent) and had our reception at the Roosevelt (Blue Room) in December 2019. Michael did a truly incredible job when it came to photographing our wedding. The quality of the photos was amazing - even the ones at night and in the dark venue - but beyond this he captured the various moments of our wedding day in such a beautiful way. The traditional shots of the bride/groom and wedding party were perfect - not too stuffy but still beautiful portraits! We love these, but my husband and I dearly cherish the pictures of the small moments throughout the day. Michael captured our personalities, details of the church and venue, and our friends and family so wonderfully. Looking back on these photos it is clear to see that they portray us in such an authentic way! He was also such a pleasure to work with. It never felt like he, or his team, were "in the way," particularly in the more intimate moments (like the bride/groom wedding suite photos). He was kind, attentive and flexible with us on the wedding day, and we are forever grateful! He even made sure we got photos with our beloved dog (yes, we are those people) amidst the chaos of the wedding reception, knowing that this was important to us. Seeing that this was my first wedding experience, the photography process was very confusing to me. Mr. Caswell answered any questions I had, he explained so much more for me to get a better understanding and took hundreds of pictures! He was everywhere and made sure he captured the most important moments! He was very considerate by asking if there were any family/personal issues in order to not put anyone in an awkward position, that meant a lot to me!!! The pictures turned out wonderful and beyond my expectations! He is amazing!!

Our photographer, besides the venues, was the first vendor we booked for our destination wedding in New Orleans. We came across Michael Caswell here on the Knot, and I reached out to him right away. Being from out of town, communication was really important via email and phone to plan for our wedding. Michael was very professional during the whole process. He sent price quotes, notifications of payments, a formal contract, and an on-going timeline of the wedding day that we can always update and edit so he knew exactly how to plan photos. He worked very well with our event planners the day of, and even brought an assistant to help him. His photos came out so beautiful, that we are going to have a hard time narrowing down there are so many good ones. He takes "in the moment" photos which are the best so you can actually re-live the moment how it actually was. His set up of our wedding album website is a great way to view, like ,and purchase photos and give access to our guests. I highly recommend using Michael, especially if you are doing a destination wedding in New Orleans.

Choosing Mr. Caswell as our photographer was the best decision we made. I actually was so sure that I wanted him to photograph my wedding very early on as I had gone through multiple albums and this one album just stood out to me. I mean the quality of the images, the quality of the album was superb. You could absolutely see the difference in quality when compared to other wedding albums. I knew right then that wow I hope that I can have this person produce the images at my wedding and thats when I contacted him. It was the first thing I booked for the wedding after booking my venue because I could not have been any more sure. And let me tell you, I could honestly not have been any happier. He is so professional, so genuinely caring and REALLY makes sure that you get the shots that you like and the angles you like and captures the best moments. We had a destination wedding so communicating and booking with him was so easy and setting the time for bridal shoot was also very easy. He honestly went above and beyond during both the bridal shoot and the wedding. I honestly don't know how he did it but he was at multiple places at once and literally looking through the pictures he has captured every single thing at the wedding and it just brings tears to my eyes that I can revive everything from that night with all the beautiful pictures. We did not have a videographer for our wedding but honestly Mr. Caswell did such an amazing job with all the beautiful photos that no video is needed just the pictures are enough for us to remember everything about the wedding. I could not thank you enough Mr. Caswell for everything that you have done and for putting so much energy and capturing everything, not missing a single moment at our wedding. Every picture you have taken is so beautiful and I feel like a beautiful princess and you can just see the love and emotions in all the pictures. We could not recommend him enough. If you are unsure about your photographer, trust me Mr. Caswell is THE BEST. If you like quality like I do, he is the man. From the pictures to our usb, to the album, everything is HIGH quality.

Michael was amazing to work with. We had a destination wedding at the Royal Sonesta. Michael was flexible when we had to unexpectedly change the wedding date and made it easy for me, despite that being a bit stressful to manage. Our photos came out beautifully! I would highly recommend!!

We’re writing this review prior to even seeing the final photos (which we have no doubt will be perfect). Michael was amazing to work with from the beginning! We had a destination wedding and he was extremely organized and made the whole process so easy. He and his assistant, Sarah, were extremely patient during the reception and were very accommodating to take several impromptu group photos. There was so much excitement that day, it was sort of like herding cats for photos, but he was extremely professional. No matter where we were, Michael was right there with us all the time but was so non intrusive. He worked with our wedding coordinator and videographer seamlessly and we so look forward to seeing the finished product. We got to see a sneak peek of a few, and they were amazing!

Michael was the best! He met with me before the wedding at my venue to go over things that I envisioned and wanted for my wedding day. We did a first look and family/wedding party pictures before the wedding and everything went so smoothly thanks to Michael. Michael was great to work with from the beginning and so patient with me, a nervous, type A bride. Not only did he meet with me in person several times before the wedding, but he was always quick to respond to my concerns or questions. Having an all indoor wedding, one of my concerns was lighting and space for him to move in (we had a small ceremony space). Michael eliminated all concerns and executed flawlessly. And, unless he was taking portrait pictures, I didn’t notice him being in my face with the camera much, but he caught so many beautiful candid moments. Another concern I had was having enough time before the ceremony to get things done. One of the things I liked about Michael was that he offered to swap the engagement sessions for an extra hour on the wedding day and it was very much so worth it. He came to our hotel to take the getting ready shots, and then went to the venue for pre-ceremony shots. I was a very organized bride, and gave Michael a detailed list of all the shots I wanted and he followed it to the T. He has a very calming personality, but also gets things done quickly. He took his time to make sure shots were perfect, but got my long list taken care of. He really takes his time post-wedding to edit the pictures so they really pop, but has an excellent turn around time. He also includes a book of photos from your day in his packages. Michael was a dream to work with and I would recommend him to anyone.
