Michael was an absolutely brilliant photographer for my daughter’s wedding. Not only were the pictures beautiful but the professionalism and friendly down to earth attitude of Michael and his staff made them such a wonderful part of our day. Not only did he have some amazing photo ideas…but he allowed the day to unfold with out being overwhelming. Thanks so much!

I don’t really know where to begin with Michael. I guess to start I’ll tell you what my wedding planner told me, “Don’t think, just hire him”. If you are debating whether or not to hire him, stop thinking and just do it. You will not regret it! Michael is the best. He has an incredible eye and he caught images that truly made our jaws drop. I would work with him 100/100 times. Trust him to capture your special day - you will not regret it I promise.

We loved working with Michael Segal photography for our engagement photos, rehearsal dinner and wedding day. Neither my wife or I had done an extended photoshoot before, and while we had some ideas about the vibe we wanted, we didn’t have a clue about how to choose locations or poses. But shooting with Michael was a breeze. He gave us clear instructions, tons of positive encouragement, and made us feel relaxed and comfortable. Michael uses this same warm approach to put your guests at ease, and is great at capturing all your loved ones. Plus, he was knowledgeable about the area we were getting married (Palm Springs), and suggested some creative locations. Some of our favorite photos came from a spot Michael recommended in the open desert. The photos came out incredibly. Michael did a mix of more “classic”, restrained poses and fun, creative shots. Plus, he shoots so efficiently — often a single take is good enough, and then you’re on to the next group or location. He has an incredible eye for lighting and interesting backdrops. We are beyond thrilled with how our photos came out, and Michael made the process easy and fun. Even if you don’t think you’re natural on camera, Michael will make you look and feel like a movie star!

We were so pleased to have Michael as our photographer for our wedding! He was such a joy to work with and made the process so easy and fun. The pictures were better than we could have ever imagined. We found him to be so personable and enjoyable to interact with. He really knew how to bring out our most photogenic selves, as well as with our guests! Michael is the best wedding photographer out there. He made us very comfortable, he was fun, and man he took some absolutely incredible shots. If he’s available for your date, you need to book him because he’s absolutely the best out there. The preview came super quick and all the photos look like they belong in a magazine. Michael shot both our engagement and wedding pictures. He was an absolute blast to shoot with. Michael helped us be comfortable and break the ice. The shots all turned out amazing. I asked him to pick our outfits and he chose which one worked best with the atmosphere and lighting. He had great spot for the engagement shoot, came up with places at the venue to shoot that we never would have thought of and those pictures turned out incredible too. Honestly even my family was raving about Michael. On our wedding night, my husband and I talked about how much we enjoyed shooting with Michael. It was an all around incredible experience.

Michael is an amazing photographer! We hired him for a casual and small beach vow renewal. He was easy-going and professional. Fit right in and adapted to our group (including many rambunctious kids). The photos are very natural — thanks to his wonderful technique and great direction. Very responsive with a quick turnaround for photos. We are very thankful that he helped enhance and archive our special day. Would hire again in a heartbeat!

Michael is amazing photographer and a joy to work with. He shot our wedding in Palm Springs on 12/31/22 and our engagement photos and rehearsal dinner. The results turned out incredible and will be cherished for the rest of our lives. He has a special eye for framing and lighting and is an excellent director as well. Where do I begin? Michael never fails to make us look like "movie stars" or "celebs" as so many of our friends and fam have put it. He has an artistic eye and I truly love all of the shots especially the ones with an editorial or fashion spin. He has a calm demeanor and is also super fun to work with. He was a pro - he captured the truly special moments - so far beyond the classic, boring photos - from my nieces dancing, to my husband and I locking eyes, to heartfelt reactions as my father spoke. We were so appreciative of his presence on the day of our wedding - Michael was a warm, comforting support without taking up space - and were even more grateful when we got our photos. One funny anecdote, Michael gently asked us to walk along this wall before we were dressed and my husband and I both were like "ok, fine" and it is one of our favorite photos from the whole weekend!! Michael was simply amazing! We had a 300 person wedding planned last April and then COVID Hit. We rescheduled for labor day weekend with only a month to plan and we made it an intimate backyard affair. We moved the date to a sunday to make sure he was available and we are so happy we did. He caputred every intimate moment and detail. He was pleasant to work with, super accoomdating to all the other vendors and our videoography. He was a true professional. Our photos really turned out amazing and will last an eternity. Michael was such a joy to work with and really felt part of the family. This is most important part of the wedding, so I feel so lucky that we nailed it with our decision.

Michael is prompt and responsive. He was excited and happy to meet with us, discuss our wedding plans, and travel for our engagement shoot without one complaint or additional fee. We had the best time shooting our engagement photos and he even sent us some photos the next morning! The pictures exceeded our expectations and we are extremely pleased with how they came out. He is awesome and we're so happy we found the best photographer for all of our future events!

All I can say is WOW! Michael drove all the way to Joshua Tree for our engagement shoot and took such amazing photos. I personally have never had professional photos taken, but he made us feel so comfortable and happy the whole time. He really captured the best of us, and we had a great time! My husband and I hating having our picture taken. There are so few photos of us because we are so awkward in the front of the camera and never like the way we look, but Michael made us feel SO COMFORTABLE and we could not stop laughing. Now we have to endless AMAZING photos of us to look back on and share. He is funny, nice, and incredibly accommodating. He even came to Vegas with us for our elopement before our backyard ceremony with our family. Our plans changed multiple times due to COVID and he stuck with us through all of it. Our weddings would not have been the same without him.

Michael and Jenna are creative geniuses with flawless execution (a hard combination to achieve). They delivered the best wedding photography and experience by making us feel comfortable and energized while capturing every angle of emotion. Food for thought if you're trying to figure out how to choose the right photographer: a photographer is one of the most important aspects of a wedding because of HOW they can make you FEEL. They are with you all day/night and set the tone for your event. It's worth optimizing this piece of your wedding! The difference between just liking someone or LOVING every minute of your time with your photographer is huge. And then when you receive incredible photos on top of a great experience, it's even better. Michael Segal and Jenna are the kinds of people that you will adore and you'll respect and love the result even more.

Michael was so nice and accommodating. He was not available on my wedding day and gave me to his associate Jenna Janelle Rose! She was absolutely fabulous! She was sweet and worked with everyone perfectly! She brought along McCall who was also amazing and super sweet! We loved our experience and would recommend to everyone! ❤️❤️❤️

Michael is an incredible photographer. We couldn't be happier with all of the photos from our wedding in October. We were apprehensive about doing a really early am shoot the morning after, but we trusted Michael and those pictures are our absolute favorite from the entire weekend. I don’t think I can provide enough accolades for the photographic services Michael provided to us at our wedding! Michael had come highly recommended to us, but even then, he exceeded expectations. On a day that often seems a bit chaotic and certainly active, Michael had the perfect combination of creativity, energy, and presence to make his role as photographer flow seamlessly into our wedding day. I’ll admit, as a somewhat circumspect groom, that at the time of some of the photos I thought to myself, “This set up is a bit over the top …”. However, when the pictures arrived post-ceremony, the genius of Michael was more than apparent in what he captured. Image after image caught a great mix of serious and formal, with lighthearted and spontaneous mixed in. His use of light and scenery was extraordinary. Before carrying on with this review, let me be very clear and say that as a reviewer I am not Michael’s father, brother, uncle, cousin, best friend, associate or even Michael himself. I am often suspicious of reviews that seem a bit too positive to be real; but both my wife and I shared the sentiment that he was a perfect component of a perfect day. I would also mention that I am not trying to portray myself as an expert on the nuances of photographic images. But everyone who we have shared our wedding pictures with has glowed with praise on how wonderful his images are, and some of them have significant experience in the world of photography, fashion, and television. Finally, I would add that beside his photographic skill, Michael struck us as just a really good person. He was fun to be around, has the presence of being an artist without being presumptuous in the least, and truly seemed to share in the fun and joy we experienced in our wedding day.

My family was delighted to have Michael Segal behind the camera to capture all of the once-in-a-lifetime moments for our daughter's recent wedding in Malibu, California. Being a photographer myself (albeit not a wedding photographer), I recognized the many challenges that presented itself at the wedding venue from harsh lighting to very cluttered backgrounds. Michael is nothing short of a magician with a camera. He took lemons and made lemonade in the most delicious way. His work ethics, talent and artistry are much appreciated as is his easy going, friendly style that makes everyone feel comfortable and beautiful in their own skin! Michael is an absolute astonishing photographer! My husband and I had such a wonderful time shooting with him - fun, crazy and artistic, just like beautiful photos should be. My father is a photographer so when it came down to searching for one for our wedding, there were many points that needed to be hit. When I came across Michael's work, I fell in love and knew my father would love the work he did. Michael is not your typical photographer, he is better. Rude & Unprofessional . I asked to take a photo of my girlfriend and the way we were sitting . The photographer demanded us to change positions of our seats to get a better photo . We asked to just take a photo of us the way we were sitting and declined our request followed by a rude comment " WHATEVER " and walked away . Approached a 2nd photographer , the photographer backed up the other teammate by defending them . Telling us the photos don't belong to the guests , that those are the photos of the bride and the groom . At the end of the day those are the photos being posted by me on social media , therefore i wanted to take a photo the way i pleased . I wanted to capture the moment i was having with my girlfriend and i rather than the appearance of the background . I do not believe that's the way guests should be treated, if i'm asking politely to be taken a photo from the angle i feel comfortable with , the photographer should not be against it .

There is no better photographer… Even through all the rain and an accident preventing us getting to the venue on time Michael was professional, easy-going, and made it all the more fun! Michael went above and beyond to make sure every moment was captured and we will forever be grateful! Thank you Michael! ❤️

I mean, if anyone ever deserved infinite stars it would be Michael. I HATE being photographed and yet, my engagement photos and wedding photos ended up being the most beautiful of anyone I know. With Michael you'll get an album of eye candy, but what I love most about his photos is that they make you feel like you are right there in the moment, like a time machine. Isn't that really what pictures are at the end of the day? Never once have I seen memories captured the way Michael does. He's a genius! Take it from me, someone who has a deep fear of settling for ordinary when things can be extraordinary, he's THE BEST and I thank my lucky stars every time I see my pictures that he was our photographer.

Other than your spouse, Michael will be the most important part of your wedding. Do not skimp on the photographer, your photos will be one of the only things from your big day that lasts forever (besides, you know, your love). My husband and I are super awkward in front of a camera but Michael made us look like Will and Kate. We shot photos on the Colorado Street bridge in the middle of a bright hot day, but by the time Michael was done with it that hot and dusty highway off ramp looked like a fairy tale setting. He is truly a master and also extremely fun and sets everyone at ease. I can't say enough about Michael and I'm forever grateful we were able to book him. I agree with the other reviewer who said don't book your wedding date unless you know Michael is available!

I booked Michael 9 months prior to my wedding. I specifically wanted him as my primary photographer. Less than 2 months from my wedding date, Michael cancelled due to Avon needing him for a longer period of time than they originally booked him for. John Boone of Boone Studios stepped in (I HIGHLY recommend him), and he really made our wedding day special. What Michael did was unprofessional, and he never bothered to personally apologize; his assistant did it, and it wasn't genuine.

Not really a team player...... Thinks it was their special day as opposed to mine...

Is there a way to give a million stars? Michael and his amazing wife flew to Cancun to shoot not only my wedding, hit three other insanely fun photo shoots (including two sunrise shoots and one in a jungle! A frickin jungle!) I could not love this guy more...My hubby and I were comfortable with him from the first second (maybe because we hung out at a bar and drank together the night before) and had the best time in front of the camera! And the pictures...omg. Anyway, could talk about Michael for hours but long story short the second I'm ready for some maternity I know who I'm calling. Xo!

Michael was our wedding photographer at Shutters on the Beach and he was amazing. He was a blast to work with and he was really able to capture the feeling of the day with stunning pictures. Michael came to Shutters the day before the wedding to scope out the best places for family photos, bride portraits, and for our first look. He thinks outside the box to create photos that are fun and exciting. He did a spectacular job and we highly recommend him!!
