I don’t really know where to begin with Michael. I guess to start I’ll tell you what my wedding planner told me, “Don’t think, just hire him”. If you are debating whether or not to hire him, stop thinking and just do it. You will not regret it! Michael is the best. He has an incredible eye and he caught images that truly made our jaws drop. I would work with him 100/100 times. Trust him to capture your special day - you will not regret it I promise.

If I could give 10 stars, I would. Michael Segal is incredible to work with from start to finish. He shot our engagement shoot, rehearsal dinner, and wedding day. His energy is contagious, and he knows how to bring the best out of the people he is capturing in photos. I normally do not love pictures of myself, but I swear after seeing some sneak peaks of our wedding photos I thought I could model!! We did an additional shoot Sunday morning after the wedding, where I could take pictures more freely without worrying about my dress, and we ended up with some of the best photos of the weekend from that morning. Michael brought Tomer with him for the wedding day, and my guests kept ranting about both of them. My guests would be trying to take a picture of a couple or group on their phone and all of a sudden Michael or Tomer would be there to snap a photo. With as much energy as Michael brings, he also has the ability to just blend in when needed to capture truly candid photos. The photographer was the MOST important vendor to me when planning my wedding, and Michael Segal and his team exceeded all expectations. He is not only a fabulous photographer who somehow knows exactly where the perfect light is, but he is also just an amazing human being with so much passion for all things in life. If there is one thing you can do to make your wedding weekend magical, it is to HIRE Michael Segal Weddings. You will not regret it.

We loved working with Michael Segal photography for our engagement photos, rehearsal dinner and wedding day. Neither my wife or I had done an extended photoshoot before, and while we had some ideas about the vibe we wanted, we didn’t have a clue about how to choose locations or poses. But shooting with Michael was a breeze. He gave us clear instructions, tons of positive encouragement, and made us feel relaxed and comfortable. Michael uses this same warm approach to put your guests at ease, and is great at capturing all your loved ones. Plus, he was knowledgeable about the area we were getting married (Palm Springs), and suggested some creative locations. Some of our favorite photos came from a spot Michael recommended in the open desert. The photos came out incredibly. Michael did a mix of more “classic”, restrained poses and fun, creative shots. Plus, he shoots so efficiently — often a single take is good enough, and then you’re on to the next group or location. He has an incredible eye for lighting and interesting backdrops. We are beyond thrilled with how our photos came out, and Michael made the process easy and fun. Even if you don’t think you’re natural on camera, Michael will make you look and feel like a movie star!

We were so pleased to have Michael as our photographer for our wedding! He was such a joy to work with and made the process so easy and fun. The pictures were better than we could have ever imagined. We found him to be so personable and enjoyable to interact with. He really knew how to bring out our most photogenic selves, as well as with our guests! Michael is the best wedding photographer out there. He made us very comfortable, he was fun, and man he took some absolutely incredible shots. If he’s available for your date, you need to book him because he’s absolutely the best out there. The preview came super quick and all the photos look like they belong in a magazine. Loved working with him!

Michael shot both our engagement and wedding pictures. He was an absolute blast to shoot with. Michael helped us be comfortable and break the ice. The shots all turned out amazing. I asked him to pick our outfits and he chose which one worked best with the atmosphere and lighting. He had great spot for the engagement shoot, came up with places at the venue to shoot that we never would have thought of and those pictures turned out incredible too. Honestly even my family was raving about Michael. On our wedding night, my husband and I talked about how much we enjoyed shooting with Michael. It was an all around incredible experience.

Michael is an amazing photographer! We hired him for a casual and small beach vow renewal. He was easy-going and professional. Fit right in and adapted to our group (including many rambunctious kids). The photos are very natural — thanks to his wonderful technique and great direction. Very responsive with a quick turnaround for photos. We are very thankful that he helped enhance and archive our special day. Would hire again in a heartbeat!

Michael is amazing photographer and a joy to work with. He shot our wedding in Palm Springs on 12/31/22 and our engagement photos and rehearsal dinner. The results turned out incredible and will be cherished for the rest of our lives. He has a special eye for framing and lighting and is an excellent director as well. He has an infectious personality that helps even the occasionally self conscious feel comfortable and able to be themselves. He really was able to capture our personalities and love in his photography, and that extends to our guests as well. Although he was there and captured all the moments, his footprint was very small and not at all intrusive. Where do I begin? Michael never fails to make us look like "movie stars" or "celebs" as so many of our friends and fam have put it. He has an artistic eye and I truly love all of the shots especially the ones with an editorial or fashion spin. He has a calm demeanor and is also super fun to work with. All my friends and family were gushing about how good our photographer was and I couldn't agree more!

He was a pro - he captured the truly special moments - so far beyond the classic, boring photos - from my nieces dancing, to my husband and I locking eyes, to heartfelt reactions as my father spoke. We were so appreciative of his presence on the day of our wedding - Michael was a warm, comforting support without taking up space - and were even more grateful when we got our photos. One funny anecdote, Michael gently asked us to walk along this wall before we were dressed and my husband and I both were like "ok, fine" and it is one of our favorite photos from the whole weekend!! Michael and his team are phenomenal. Michael was exceptional to work with, start to finish, and was extra patient with us during some COVID-related rescheduling. Day of event Michael was a calming presence and so many of our guests commented on how great he was to work with. Most importantly, the shots turned out AMAZING. Michael was simply amazing! We had a 300 person wedding planned last April and then COVID Hit. We rescheduled for labor day weekend with only a month to plan and we made it an intimate backyard affair. We moved the date to a sunday to make sure he was available and we are so happy we did. He caputred every intimate moment and detail. He was pleasant to work with, super accoomdating to all the other vendors and our videoography. He was a true professional. Our photos really turned out amazing and will last an eternity. Michael was such a joy to work with and really felt part of the family. This is most important part of the wedding, so I feel so lucky that we nailed it with our decision.

Michael is prompt and responsive. He was excited and happy to meet with us, discuss our wedding plans, and travel for our engagement shoot without one complaint or additional fee. We had the best time shooting our engagement photos and he even sent us some photos the next morning! The pictures exceeded our expectations and we are extremely pleased with how they came out. He is awesome and we're so happy we found the best photographer for all of our future events!

All I can say is WOW! Michael drove all the way to Joshua Tree for our engagement shoot and took such amazing photos. I personally have never had professional photos taken, but he made us feel so comfortable and happy the whole time. He really captured the best of us, and we had a great time! My husband and I hating having our picture taken. There are so few photos of us because we are so awkward in the front of the camera and never like the way we look, but Michael made us feel SO COMFORTABLE and we could not stop laughing. Now we have to endless AMAZING photos of us to look back on and share. He is funny, nice, and incredibly accommodating. He even came to Vegas with us for our elopement before our backyard ceremony with our family. Our plans changed multiple times due to COVID and he stuck with us through all of it. Our weddings would not have been the same without him.

Michael and Jenna are creative geniuses with flawless execution (a hard combination to achieve). They delivered the best wedding photography and experience by making us feel comfortable and energized while capturing every angle of emotion. Food for thought if you're trying to figure out how to choose the right photographer: a photographer is one of the most important aspects of a wedding because of HOW they can make you FEEL. They are with you all day/night and set the tone for your event. It's worth optimizing this piece of your wedding! The difference between just liking someone or LOVING every minute of your time with your photographer is huge. And then when you receive incredible photos on top of a great experience, it's even better. Michael Segal and Jenna are the kinds of people that you will adore and you'll respect and love the result even more.

Michael was so nice and accommodating. He was not available on my wedding day and gave me to his associate Jenna Janelle Rose! She was absolutely fabulous! Michael is an incredible photographer. We couldn't be happier with all of the photos from our wedding in October. We were apprehensive about doing a really early am shoot the morning after, but we trusted Michael and those pictures are our absolute favorite from the entire weekend. I don’t think I can provide enough accolades for the photographic services Michael provided to us at our wedding! Michael had come highly recommended to us, but even then, he exceeded expectations. On a day that often seems a bit chaotic and certainly active, Michael had the perfect combination of creativity, energy, and presence to make his role as photographer flow seamlessly into our wedding day. I’ll admit, as a somewhat circumspect groom, that at the time of some of the photos I thought to myself, “This set up is a bit over the top …”. However, when the pictures arrived post-ceremony, the genius of Michael was more than apparent in what he captured. Image after image caught a great mix of serious and formal, with lighthearted and spontaneous mixed in. His use of light and scenery was extraordinary. Before carrying on with this review, let me be very clear and say that as a reviewer I am not Michael’s father, brother, uncle, cousin, best friend, associate or even Michael himself. I am often suspicious of reviews that seem a bit too positive to be real; but both my wife and I shared the sentiment that he was a perfect component of a perfect day. I would also mention that I am not trying to portray myself as an expert on the nuances of photographic images. But everyone who we have shared our wedding pictures with has glowed with praise on how wonderful his images are, and some of them have significant experience in the world of photography, fashion, and television. Finally, I would add that beside his photographic skill, Michael struck us as just a really good person. He was fun to be around, has the presence of being an artist without being presumptuous in the least, and truly seemed to share in the fun and joy we experienced in our wedding day.

My family was delighted to have Michael Segal behind the camera to capture all of the once-in-a-lifetime moments for our daughter's recent wedding in Malibu, California. Being a photographer myself (albeit not a wedding photographer), I recognized the many challenges that presented itself at the wedding venue from harsh lighting to very cluttered backgrounds. Michael is nothing short of a magician with a camera. He took lemons and made lemonade in the most delicious way. His work ethics, talent and artistry are much appreciated as is his easy going, friendly style that makes everyone feel comfortable and beautiful in their own skin! I mean, if anyone ever deserved infinite stars it would be Michael. I HATE being photographed and yet, my engagement photos and wedding photos ended up being the most beautiful of anyone I know. With Michael you'll get an album of eye candy, but what I love most about his photos is that they make you feel like you are right there in the moment, like a time machine. Isn't that really what pictures are at the end of the day? Never once have I seen memories captured the way Michael does. He's a genius! Take it from me, someone who has a deep fear of settling for ordinary when things can be extraordinary, he's THE BEST and I thank my lucky stars every time I see my pictures that he was our photographer.

Other than your spouse, Michael will be the most important part of your wedding. Do not skimp on the photographer, your photos will be one of the only things from your big day that lasts forever (besides, you know, your love). My husband and I are super awkward in front of a camera but Michael made us look like Will and Kate. We shot photos on the Colorado Street bridge in the middle of a bright hot day, but by the time Michael was done with it that hot and dusty highway off ramp looked like a fairy tale setting. He is truly a master and also extremely fun and sets everyone at ease. I can't say enough about Michael and I'm forever grateful we were able to book him. I agree with the other reviewer who said don't book your wedding date unless you know Michael is available!

I booked Michael 9 months prior to my wedding. I specifically wanted him as my primary photographer. Less than 2 months from my wedding date, Michael cancelled due to Avon needing him for a longer period of time than they originally booked him for. John Boone of Boone Studios stepped in (I HIGHLY recommend him), and he really made our wedding day special. What Michael did was unprofessional, and he never bothered to personally apologize; his assistant did it, and it wasn't genuine.

Is there a way to give a million stars? Michael and his amazing wife flew to Cancun to shoot not only my wedding, hit three other insanely fun photo shoots (including two sunrise shoots and one in a jungle! A frickin jungle!) I could not love this guy more...My hubby and I were comfortable with him from the first second (maybe because we hung out at a bar and drank together the night before) and had the best time in front of the camera! And the pictures...omg. Anyway, could talk about Michael for hours but long story short the second I'm ready for some maternity I know who I'm calling. Xo!

Michael was our wedding photographer at Shutters on the Beach and he was amazing. He was a blast to work with and he was really able to capture the feeling of the day with stunning pictures. Michael came to Shutters the day before the wedding to scope out the best places for family photos, bride portraits, and for our first look. He thinks outside the box to create photos that are fun and exciting. He did a spectacular job and we highly recommend him!!

Absolutely stunning photos! Michael Segal is top notch! My fiancé and I had our engagement photos and also our wedding photos booked with Michael Segal and his amazing team (Jenna and Nikki) They were professional, organized, fun and knew all the important shots to take. I took photos in Laguna for my engagement shoot and in San Juan Capistrano for the wedding and Jenna was super knowledgeable about where to find all the best shots. They sent me an amazing link to a webpage where all the pictures could be accessed by my family and also usb with all my pictures as well. I would definitely recommend to anyone getting married!

Michael took photos at my rehearsal dinner and on my wedding day. Michael was our wedding photographer and it goes without saying that his work was absolutely excellent. But looking back, what really sets him apart is how brilliantly unobtrusive he is. He works so quickly and confidently, and it's never a chore or, even during the staged family shots. Many of our friends say they didn't even notice we had a Wedding photographer, and yet he captured all of them in wonderful, natural pictures. After watching so many friends struggle with demanding photographers who 'take over' the event, it was so wonderful to work with someone who has such a confident, laid back style. Michael Segal is the most talented photographer I have ever met. My husband and I feel blessed to have been introduced to him through our wedding planner, Tessa of Tessa Lyn Events. We also had him shoot our engagement photos and from that point forward we knew we were in the most capable hands. The communication throughout the planning process was seamless. Sheila, Michael's assistant is a dream. The duo provides excellent customer service and pricing is very reasonable. I can't recommend Michael highly enough. I would hire Michael Segal again in a heartbeat. The photos were incredible and transport me right back to the day of the wedding. There were a combination of artsy Bride & Groom shots of the kind you might see in a magazine, as well as a general candid/editorial approach to the rest of the set. We paid for Michael Segal and one assistant, and we got two. All of them were a pleasure to work with. They were very easy-going and unobtrusive, and for much of the time I didn't even realize they were there. However, somehow they managed to capture everything. The bride got the jitters in the run up to the day about timing and logistics (we had a very long gap between ceremony and reception, and the contract was for 8 contiguous hours). Michael Segal full alleviated her concerns and was there throughout the entire day. Michael Segal is an interesting character and exudes a positive energy, putting his subject at ease. His team was extremely responsive to us both before, during, and after the wedding (which was appreciated as we had radio silence from some of our other wedding vendors after committing the deposit). Worth every penny.

We loved working with Michael Segal and his entire team. Being a cinematographer myself I was extremely meticulous in finding a photographer for our wedding and additional events. When I came across Michael I right away caught on to his artistic approach, appreciation for photography and most importantly an eye for capturing emotion. We had our engagement photos taken by Michael which were unbelievably AMAZING, followed by our wedding this last weekend. I can't say enough wonderful things about both Michael and Jenna. Michael Segal Weddings photographed two events during our wedding weekend, Michael Segal and his assistant caught some of the most amazing moments, and the beauty of the venue and our guests. They were very easy to work with and helped us through the stressful pre-wedding hours. The photo studio was a blast at the ceremony, and the pictures are priceless. I work in photography and so I was worried about getting a wedding photographer I would like. But I didn't want to force my photographer friends to have to work. Michael Segal replied immediately from the get go. He also seemed sincerely happy for us on our big day. The pictures were stunning and his highly responsive studio turned around prints and albums in no time. For a bride working full time and with very picky taste in photography, this was a tough one and Michael Segal Photography totally nailed it. The pricing was fair for all they did. My photographer friends urged me to splurge on the best portfolio and they were right. Not only that, Michael really responded to what my particular tastes and my needs were. Every bride is different. He listened to the pictures I responded most to in his portfolio and really delivered in the spirit of that work. I hope I don't get married again, but Michael Segal would be my photographer of choice if I ever did!

My husband and I were planning a trip to Palm Springs to celebrate our 10 years of marriage. I knew I wanted to do something special, and memorable. We thought about renewing our vows, but wedding/ten year anniversary photos in the desert sounded more fun and memorable. I checked a few websites for wedding types of photographers, and I found Michael. His work looked perfect for what we were hoping for. Our experience with Michael was everything I was hoping for, and even more. He was fun and professional (with a lot of personality)! Our pictures are sensational, and he made me look like a model! He has a "technique" while shooting that gets his subjects to smile more intensely than any other photographer we have worked with (eight or ten), but I will keep his secret, and you can find out for yourself about "his "technique" that was so fun for my husband and I to work with. The even more surprising thing was that my husband had fun with the experience, and would love to do it again - now, that is saying something! If I knew now what I didn't know BEFORE our wedding, we would not have set the date unless we knew that Michael Segal was available to photograph it. I kid you not. Do not set your wedding date unless you know Michael's available--it's just that simple. In the end, the photographs will be one of the most important decisions you make in archiving the day. To say that our pictures came out great, would be an understatement. What Michael is exceptional at, is figuring out who you are as a couple and really capturing the collective and individual personalities of you both. More so, he captures the emotion, fun and the very spirit of the day--not just of (and for) us, but of our entire guest list as well. There is no way we would be able to cherish the memory of the day without him. How does he do it? I'll tell you. He has a winning personality and he seems to really love what he does. There's no way the pictures would turn out as well as they did, if he did not. One last thing. Are you one if those people that thinks you never have a good picture taken of you? Not with Michael. Some of the best pictures ever taken of us occurred with Michael Segal. In fact of everyone at the wedding and reception looks great. By the way--Spend the extra money for the "studio kit". It's classy and well worth it--the guests LOVE it. An easy way for people have to have a great time celebrating your wedding (and something that will make your reception stand-out from the all the others). Come on, what are you waiting for? I could not have been happier working with anyone else. Michael Segal Photography delivered exactly what I wanted at every step of the way. They were prompt and professional in our communication and planning early in the process. Michael and team were incredible to work with on the day of - funny and interesting and totally took the pressure off so we could all have an amazing and FUN time together on our special day. They took control and managed everything. They had a very personal touch and I so appreciated that both Michael and his associate Steph made it a point to say goodbye to me before they finished shooting and left the reception. My wife and I decided to elope in Palm Springs six weeks before it actually happened. That left a lot to do in a very short period of time. We came across Michael on a blog post of another couple who had eloped. From the minute we looked at his images we knew we would book him - they were breathtaking.
