We were lucky to have Michael play at our ceremony and cocktail time. What an amazing job he did. So professional too! We received numerous compliments about his music and a few people inquiring about him! So happy we had him be a part of our day!

Michael played our 9/30, 2017 wedding. He had come recommended from a family friend, and when we drove out to see him perform at one of his shows, he had us sold after covering both Johnny Cash and the Backstreet Boys in the same set. I won't comment on the quality of his music here because if you can't tell that from the videos he has posted, you can't be helped. That said, we were similarly pleased with the quality of his disc-jockeying. A member of our bridal party, who is also a deejay in a major market, said that Michael was hands down one of the best wedding deejays he has ever seen. There was not a single song when the dance floor wasn't full (which is saying quite a bit, considering how many Panic! At the Disco songs the groom requested). Seriously though, Michael read the crowd's moods perfectly and played music that we loved and that engaged each person in the room. Past this outstanding quality as both a musician and a disc-jockey, I'll say that it truly felt that Michael was a guest and a friend at our wedding. He laughed with us, wondered with me how we could get the Vikings game on the radio the next day driving home from central Wisconsin, and really helped create the exact environment we had hoped for at our wedding. A few months later, we went to see Michael play at a packed concert in Minneapolis, and he recognized us at the bar before his set, hugged us, and asked us how we'd been. It's that kind of personal and authentic touch that he brings to his relationships and his work that makes us so happy to have hired him to play at our wedding. We couldn't recommend him more fervently.

Michael played at my best friend's wedding October of 2016. I fell in love with his style in the months leading up to her wedding. The night my fiance and I got engaged in November 2016, I immediately wrote his name down, knowing I needed him at my wedding. The easygoing communication, aside from his talent, was one of the best parts of booking Michael. His musical talents are unbelievable. Growing up with a dad who played guitar in the house for years, Michael brought me right back to what I loved about music. Michael's acoustic abilities with the looping of the guitar and vocals, along with the ah-mazing sound of his voice put him above any other musicians I have listened to. I sent him a list of songs I wanted for my ceremony.... as a normal bride would, we listen to these songs on repeat up until the day of the wedding. I will honestly say, I could not make it down the aisle without crying as soon as I heard him playing, the pictures definitely show it. He timed and faded the songs I picked perfectly to the timing of our ceremony! I am so happy we booked him for our ceremony and cocktail hour. I would have kept him our entire reception if I could have! We LOVE Michael Shynes!

"Perfect" That is the best word to describe Michael and his band. We hired Michael to play our ceremony music, social hour, and reception for our wedding in September 2017. We knew he would be amazing the minute we heard him sing online and we were not disappointed. He was so easy to work with and even cut a sample of our first dance song "Perfect" for us to use as we practiced our dance before the wedding. We added a female vocalist to the mix as we had one song that was better as a duet and the mother of the groom wanted their mother/son dance to be sung by a female vocalist. Michael waited to hear which songs we were going to use before picking a female vocalist he thought would be best for those songs. Her voice was stunning. Our guests were in love with our wedding before we even arrived as they got to listen to Michael play. Our dance floor was full all night which is exactly what we wanted. No one has stopped talking about the music at our wedding. We're all trying to figure out what we can hire them for next. I just can't say enough about what Michael and crew added to our day. They made it exceptional!

Michael preformed at our wedding ceremony and he was nothing short of amazing!! He was open to the songs we wanted and was willing to learn them if he didn't know them. His voice is AMAZING and set the perfect time for our ceremony. All of our guests could not stop talking about him and how fabulous he was and our wedding venue coordinator absolutely loved him! Michael was recommended to us by my (now) sister in law. She heard him perform at a wedding a year ago and loved him. We loved what we heard and fortunately he still had our wedding date available. He was so easy going and great during the whole process leading up to the ceremony. He went above and beyond and learned some special songs for us during our ceremony as well. He performed at our ceremony in the church and the reception to follow. He set the tone to make our wedding ceremony even more special and touching than I could have ever imagined. Words do no justice describing how beautiful he sounded inside the church. Everyone was already raving about him during and after the ceremony, and were even more excited to see that he was performing at our reception as well. He sang and played the perfect songs at the perfect time for all of ours guests and had so much fun with all of us all night. I have had so many people tell us that was the best time, and best music at any wedding they have ever heard. Everyone was and still is asking us about him. We even had some wedding crashers from the bar inside our reception venue because they wanted a better listen at what they could hear outside! Michael Shynes is a rare amazing talent, we feel so blessed that we could have him perform on our special day, and we are still getting compliments because of him.

Amazing doesn't even begin to describe Michael Shynes. We have enjoyed listening to him play around town for a while now so it was a no brainer to have him play at our wedding. We had him do our ceremony and our cocktail/dinner hour. After we booked him he was extremely helpful with picking out music. My husband and I spent a lot of time listening to songs and comparing them to Michael's style. We chose songs that we felt fit both his style and ours and we couldn't have been happier! We got so many compliments on him from our guests. He really turned our backyard wedding into an incredible time! WOW! Where do I even begin?!? We found Michael through the Knot and listened to his songs on Spotify -- we were instantly hooked!! Michael performed during our ceremony and cocktail hour and it was beautiful! He is incredibly talented. From the outset, Michael was professional, positive, fun, open, and worked with us to design a music list that was just our style! We didn't want more traditional wedding songs and he (and his cellist) more than delivered with songs from Mat Kearney, Andrew Belle, and Jason Mraz. His sound is so versatile and people are still talking about how great he was!! Seriously, we're looking for another event we can have him at! For my husband and I, Michael was exactly what we were looking for in our day. My suggestion for future brides and grooms is to snatch him up when you can -- he will add something special and so unique to your day!

Walking in Memphis. That is what Michael played during his sound check at our wedding in May. People tell you that a bride and groom do not remember much of the wedding day, but for my husband and I, hearing that song sung so beautifully during our family photo session remains one of our most precious memories. It was made even more memorable given that all of us, including the photographer, stopped what we were doing for a moment and listened. And that sentiment continued throughout the day as our guests came up to my husband and I asking…where did you find this guy, his is AMAZING! Michael Shynes is an amazingly talented performer and songwriter, a true professional and I would recommend him for any event.

Wow!! Having Michael perform at our wedding was one of the best decisions we made. The music was breathtaking and a highlight many of our guest brought up as well. Michael was great to work with ahead of time & nailed our vision for the ceremony. Our only regret was that we didn't hire him for longer! If I could give Michael 10 stars I would. What can I say? He made my day feel like a fairytail. He was extremely professional and easy to work with and is an incredibly gifted musician. He really blew me away and completely exceeded my expectations. I simply gave him a few songs to play, and he took it from there and just showed up and did his thing. Since he plays a lot of weddings he knows the drill and how things should run, so our ceremony went very smoothly. I HIGHLY recommend Michael to anyone who is looking for a talented singer/guitarist. I can't say enough

This man’s talent is incredible. We had the honor of having Michael sing during our pre-ceremony and ceremony for our outdoor wedding at Bayview Event Center. He truly made our wedding ceremony an experience we’ll never forget- I still can’t believe I got to walk down the aisle to his amazing voice. We had some unique song choices and he sang them better than the originals. He sang Tenerife Sea during our wine box ceremony and I tried to go as slow as possible, just to be able to hear him sing longer! Future brides, if you are looking for someone to play at your wedding, your search has ended! The first time I heard Michael perform was at a restaurant with my now husband and family. After the first song he played, I was so mesmerized by his voice and I knew immediately that I HAD to have him play at our wedding. Michael played during our social hour before our wedding ceremony and during the actual ceremony. I had countless guests asking my family who he was and where we had found him. Even my bridesmaids were asking me to "turn up the radio" when he started to play and I had to explain to them that this was someone performing live outside. Michael performed at our wedding recently with about 2 weeks notice. His time involved performing an hour before the ceremony and a half an hour during. Michael is an incredibly talented musician! I've had the pleasure of listening to his music for the last five years. He is extremely professional and adaptable. I gave him a few songs to play at our ceremony and even let him fill in some of the gaps with instrumentals. He did amazing. I was married on 8-14-15 and I get compliments about Michael every time I come across a wedding guest! He even took the time to write a beautiful song for my father/daughter dance. I gave him a list of memories and he translated it and turned it into the best gift ever! I wouldn't recommend anyone else. Michael is perfect!

Michael recently played at our wedding and was not only the nicest person we met that day, but exceeded our high expectations as a performer. Our wedding was at Aria, a large space with tricky acoustics. He softly filled the room and gave our guest chills. He learned a song we requested for the bridal entrance with one day notice, and was so good at the cocktail hour that our guest started dancing! He couldn't be more talented and we couldn't have been more pleased!

Michael was the musician for our 9/4/15 wedding. He did an amazing job and our guests (young and older) absolutely loved him!! He was so easy to work with and was 100% flexible with our schedule and the songs that we requested. We hired Michael to perform at our wedding ceremony and social hour. Everyone could not stop raving about how great he was. I couldn't keep count of how many people kept asking me who he was and how we found him. He played When I Say I Do during our wedding ceremony as well as a few prelude and recessional songs. One of the prelude songs was Marry Me by Train and we had one guest say "It was like you had Train at your wedding!" Everyone also thoroughly enjoyed the social hour. I only wish my husband and I could have spent more time listening to him that day but we were so busy!! :-) He was also very easy to communicate with and was willing to learn a few new songs for us. Second, the variety of songs he could play we loved as well- country, pop, alternative, classics. In conclusion, he was awesome and the guests and us loved every minute! Amazing! We had a small wedding of 50 guests but I bet we got that many compliments on our musician. Our favorite quote was from one of our very best friends who doesn't show his emotions who said "your musician was so good, it gave me goosebumps". That confirmed to us that we had chosen the right guy. Michael was an absolutely terrific choice for our wedding. In the planning stage he was very responsive and open/honest about what he could and could not do. He was also extremely flexible to our requests for specific songs. His willingness to travel (our wedding was in Illinois) was an added bonus. Michael came through on short notice and was very flexible and accommodating. He provided a half hour of acoustic instrumental music before the ceremony, cued the recorded music for the processional and recessional, and did a lovely solo during the ceremony. Everything went seamlessly and was beautiful! His setup was discreet and the volume arrangements just right for the venue. He was on time, respectful, cheerful, upbeat, and friendly. He really made us feel he was glad to be a part of our special day, not just another "gig". His rendition of a popular song was tasteful and heartfelt. Ladies listen up! I am not one to do a review like..ever! But I just have to because I need to share the wealth. I am a gal who researches a lot before I do something. So needless to say when I wanted a live artist at my wedding, I searched and searched. I hired Michael Shynes to play at my Sunday brunch wedding and he was amazing. From the business perspective.. the coordinating process before to the day of, everything was smooth!! He is reasonable, and easy to get in touch with. I never onced worried about it once I booked with him. The day of the wedding, he showed up on time, set up and was ready to rock and roll. He literally is one of the most talented musicians I've ever heard. I gave him a few songs to play and let him choose the rest, which was great! His voice is amazing, his guitar skills are phenomenal! My husband and I keep talking about how much we just enjoyed listening to him. We got so many compliments throughout the day. Michael was amazing and really great to work with. He was accommodating and very responsive leading up to the wedding. His voice is great and he plays a lot of good songs. He is even willing to learn new songs for your ceremony. So many of our guests asked about Michael and where we found him because they loved his music so much. Great experience overall.

Michael Shynes was an amazing part of my wedding. He was a great performer for our guests and throughout the ceremony. We received many compliments of his singing by our guests. Our ceremony official confirmed that he has never done a wedding where every guest was focused on the musician and not talking with other people around them before the ceremony. Michael Shynes did an excellent job with responding to emails right away and even going above and beyond by recording songs of choice we have chosen for our wedding and he played them so we could hear how they would sound and they were terrific. We even have out of town guests who could not get enough of Michael Shynes because of the artistic ability and compatibility he has for certain songs. We could not have been more grateful for Michael Shynes to be a part of our wedding ceremony as he was the best musician we have ever heard

Michael is an amazing artist! He performed at a friends wedding and we instantly wanted him to be a part of our wedding day! He was so nice and was willing to learn a new song for us! Everyone loved him and we got many compliments and requests for his contact info! Will definately hire him again!
