I loved Michaela’s style and reached out to her to schedule an engagement session-the best decision! We both immediately liked her and how comfortable she made us feel. For two people never professionally photographed, we felt so natural and perfectly represented as a couple (even in the cold temps of October). We were so lucky she was open to shoot our wedding day the following September, we had to snag her! Not only are our engagement and wedding photos some of the most stunning photos I have with my husband and families, but they are everything I envisioned and more. Her communication leading up to our day was insightful and supportive without being overbearing; she helped fill and arrange the gaps in our timeline without making us feel foolish. She understood every request and captured details I worried about having a picture of since I hadn’t remembered to bring it up. She remembered and captured everything. She is an expert yet approachable, the comedic relief when needed, and a professional dress train-fixer. We got many compliments on the vendors we chose, as most couples do, but the compliment we got the most hands-down was how stunning all of our photos are. The other photographers we had reached out to were much less responsive, which made Micahel’s responsiveness stand out even more! This responsiveness and promptness continued throughout our time with Michaela that had us feeling informed, secure, and cared for. We had a lengthy list of questions for Michaela as well as we started working with her, but she answered each one promptly and in such detail that we instantly felt great confidence in her abilities. The follow up meetings bolstered this perception as our zoom meetings with her were very organized and we could tell she took good notes. Michaela had a preset approach to get the conversation going which gave us insight into how she conducted her work, and she adjusted and shaped it to meet our expectations and things we wanted out of a photoshoot. Included in our package with Michaela was an engagement shoot. This was the first time we had spent any lengthy time in front of a camera so focused on us, but Michaela made the whole experience fun and light with her personality which made the process feel like a collaboration with a good friend, shedding us of the awkwardness and uncertainty. All the while, she consistently demonstrated her professionalism with creative and varied positions for the photoshoots that had us looking our best and highlighting our personalities. Michaela was even more amazing on the actual wedding day which had a steeper list of demands than even the engagement shoot. A second shooter (Aponi) worked with the groom while Michaela worked with the bride. Between the two, they captured beautiful and special getting-ready pictures, first-touch pictures, detail photos of the attire and rings—everything for us to remember and look back on for years to come. On this day, we had a long and detailed list of pictures we wanted which we did supply to Michaela ahead of time. A series of pictures were to be captured at the church where we were married, with more to follow at the reception venue about 15 minutes down the road. It required wrangling and coordinating photos with 30+ family members. But Michaela was undaunted. She worked efficiently to capture all the family portraits we had detailed for her in the list to be captured at the church. Michaela always kept things moving along and checked in with us at regular intervals, both to make sure we were good on time and to make sure we were getting what we asked for. The same efficiency, care, and professionalism continued at the reception venue where we took pictures outside during cocktail hour. Michaela followed us throughout the rest of the day, capturing our grand entrance, speeches, cake cutting, first dances, and more! Furthermore, there was a quick turnaround time on receiving photos from Michaela. Pictures from the engagement shoot (approximately 70 photos) were provided 10 days afterward, and the wedding photos (approximately 800 photos) were provided in just under 6 weeks. We were very pleased with the quality and timeliness of her final product. We highly recommend Michaela for your photography needs, and we plan to contract her again in the future.

Our theme we was black and white and somehow she made those colors POP. Despite running behind schedule on the big day, she handled everything with grace and flexibility, making sure we still got all the important shots. She also managed to navigate the chaos of guests wanting their own pictures with patience and a calm demeanor, ensuring everyone felt included without compromising her work. Her talent and professionalism exceeded all our expectations, and we would absolutely love to work with her again.
