Michaels Entertainment is a wedding DJ business in Troy, MI. Our wedding DJ's begin with the end in mind. We're talking euphoric bride, hands in the air, loved ones all around - everybody having the best time ever. Then we take you there, guiding the special moments you've been imagining all your life. You'll hear the words, we'll play the song, and then you'll blink and it's your first dance. We make planning a breeze. We'll bring the speakers, the mics, and the skills needed to rock your party, keeping it all going smooth and enjoyable. On top of that our Photobooth was designed to be open and inclusive - fit for a fun-filled party! Thus was born the unique design of our sleek Modern Open Booth. Included also are high-quality props, digital photos on-demand, unlimited prints on-site, and a customizable design just for you. We also have a lovely leather-bound guest book your loved ones can slip their photos into and write cute notes for you to look back on for years to come! Finally, Expand your color theme throughout your space with our battery-operated, and wirelessly controlled uplighting. We're talking unlimited color possibilities. Most couples like to use one solid color during cocktail and dinner, but once the dancing begins have the lights beat to the music during fast songs, or fade slowly to the slow ones. Maybe our standard dance floor lighting is enough for you, but if you want, consider upgrading to our luxury level event ambient interactive lighting

ment. From the first conversation I had with Richard to the end of the celebration with Seth, their company was professional, proficient, and went above and beyond our expectations. The week of the celebration, we added music outside the venue as there is a large outdoor patio at the Myth. Seth did not hesitate to meet our needs and was there early to set up his equipment. Any change that needed to be made on the day of the reception; he accommodated every request. His positive energy and upbeat personality matched the energy of the room and we had so many positive comments from our guests. His music choices reflected the energy of the room and kept everyone having a great time. Our dance floor was never empty. We cannot thank Seth and Michaels Entertainment for their services and would tell anyone in the future to use their team!

tial time on the phone with us making sure everyone was on the same page about the style of party we wanted.
We sent him an extensive playlist of our favorites and included a challengingly comprehensive list of “do not plays”. Zac had a great attitude about getting this much guidance and asked the right questions about the musical interests of our expected crowd.
He was able to blend his own knowledge of party flow and crowd work with our preferences to create our ideal environment on the dance floor.
We were concerned that a wedding DJ may have a formulaic approach to the evening or fail to adapt on the fly. Zac proved us wrong. Without having to be told, Zac identified that I, rather than my partner, was more receptive to communication during the wedding, and he communicated exactly the right amount to ensure everyone agreed things were on the right track.
We were pretty skeptical of the conventional wedding DJ approach going into the wedding, but we came out of it with nothing but praise for DJ Zac. We got many compliments that it was the most fun wedding dance floor people had experienced, and a testament to that was the completely full dance floor as we approached our last song at midnight.
More generally, I will note we hit a minor snag in communication with Michaels Entertainment during the booking process and management was immediately impressive in reconciling the problem for us. Top marks and a strong recommendation from us for Michaels Entertainment and DJ Zac.

Michaels made everything very easy on us from the first phone call we had with Richard, to the in-depth questionnaire which guided us through the entire evening playlist. They provide videos of their DJs so that you can get a sense of their experience and personalities and they maintain contact with friendly reminders to reassure you that they're on top of everything.
I would highly recommend Michaels to anyone seeking a DJ for their wedding or for any other occasion. If you don't check them out, you're making a mistake.

any days after the wedding, guests were raving about how good the DJing was during the evening. For our must play songs, Richard knew all the remixes for them and worked them the perfect remix based on how the crowd the reacting at the time.
Beyond the dance floor, Richard expertly managed all the sound throughout the day, from the ceremony to the reception to the toasts. There was also a chance of rain forecasted during the ceremony, and when we shared our contingency plans with Richard, Richard just said without hesitation that he was good to go with whatever plan we decided on. He was very personable (he looked like he was having almost as much fun as we were) and checked in with us frequently to make sure things were going well, but never too frequently that we felt like we were being interrupted. If we ever have another event that needs a DJ, we will most definitely be requesting DJ John specifically, and we've recommended him to our friends who are having weddings in the future.

d. We had a great meeting the Monday before the wedding to go over all the details, and wow, I am glad we had that meeting! Even though we didn't have everything decided in that moment, Mark was understanding and accommodating. My new last name is hard to pronounce and Mark was diligent about ensuring he said it exactly the right way.
Mark also has an awesome voice - great for announcing. He showed up on time, worked with my ceremony performer and was dressed appropriately for the venue (something I've been told not all DJ's do). He even came prepared with backup plans in case things went wrong. He solved an issue with some speakers presented by my venue that I didn't even know about until well after the wedding.
Terri was our photo booth attendant and she was great! All our guests had a blast with it.
Overall, I can't say enough good things.

ted by our initial DJ's contracting COVID. DJ Kevin proved a perfect replacement for us. He dove right in and worked closely with us to learn what kind of feel we wanted and where we needed his guidance. It was a great partnership, as we came to the table with a lot of specific music and DJ Kevin brought his expertise in mixing it together into an evening of seamless flow and entertainment.
All the touchpoints of the reception went flawlessly, and Kevin worked closely with us to handle a small schedule adjustment that arose. He didn't miss a beat, flowing from one moment to the next, until the open dancing began. Once the party started, it was fire. There wasn't a moment when the energy level dropped, as Kevin mixed our tapestry of songs into a weave of music genius. Yes, that may sound like we're laying it on thick, but we mean it, and it's the truth.
We're middle-aged, so our crowd was older than most weddings, but there was never a moment when different people weren't drawn to the dance floor. And towards the end, they were even drawn onto the DJ stage itself into the most intense dancing of the night.
Oh, and I wanted to mention how pleased we were with the use of the advanced lighting set. They accented the ballroom beautifully without detracting from it, and it really helped amplify the dancing without distracting.
We genuinely appreciated the synergy we had with Kevin and the entire Michael's Entertainment team. We would gladly recommend them to others.

We also used Michaels for our videography and it was everything we could have dreamed of! We got an incredible highlight video just about a week after the wedding and the full film not long after so we could quickly relive all our favorite memories.
