Planning an Austin wedding from Houston with two busy careers is difficult. It also was disappointing because we weren't able to do the longed-for cake tasting. However, Michelle worked with us on that (letting us swing buy on a drive-through... Austin to pick up a box full of sample cakes, cupcakes, petit fours, and cookies) and was exceedingly patient in talking with us about how much cake we would need, the most well-liked wedding flavors for guests, and how many of each dessert we would need. We ended up with a three tier cake and a dessert bar of cookies, cupcakes, and petit fours.
We never had a "vision" for what our cake should look like. So I told Michelle what I did not want, which was an easier question to answer, and let her creativity guide her from there. The cake was absolutely elegant, classic, and beautiful; it was perfect. That's to speak nothing of the flavors (italian cream, honey lavender, and pumpkin) or the dessert bar. Everything…EVERYTHING…was incredible. It was delivered and set up with care and attention to detail. It was delivered on time. The cake was fresh and moist, even after sitting on our table until the morning after the wedding. The cupcakes and petit fours were full of flavor and had the perfect amount of icing. The cookies…the cookies! The caramel cookies were a crowd favorite, as were the fudge crackle. I would suggest your event manager or a highly trusted friend set aside a few of each dessert before the guests have at it, because everything will be wiped clean!
We definitely will be using Michelle's Patisserie in the future for parties, special treats, Mondays…DELICIOUS.
