Michi's

e get to the food (which was absolutely amazing), we wanted to highlight their professionalism and the general care they showed us throughout our year of planning with them. They were very timely in their responses, thorough in their explanations, and helpful in providing their expert advice. They have been in the game for so many years, and it shows how well they’ve developed their craft and systems. We never had to worry if they would deliver on our wedding day because we knew we were in good hands with Mike and Raphael. We also got to meet Michi a few times and he is truly such a sweet man! You can really tell he loves what he does and genuinely enjoys meeting and celebrating couples on their big day. Onto the food: truly such amazing food and you better believe our guests told us so!! We were able to choose from such a comprehensive list of items for cocktail hour and dinner. They were very generous with the tastings, and we were able to try so many different things before finalizing our menu. They were also able to accommodate our late night request for lumpia + hawaiian pork sliders! Everyone loved the sushi handrolls too. Our favorite thing about hiring them for our food was that no guests left hungry. Usually, portions at weddings can be underwhelming but Michi made sure to feed our guests, vendors, and us with seconds, and even thirds! Overall, we’re very happy with our decision to hire Michi as our wedding caterer. No other family we’d trust to feed our family on our special day.

m. They are a family run business - their true passion and care for their craft shines through so clearly, and it was an absolute joy to eat their delicious food, but also just to get to know them as people. We had so many guests tell us the food was the best they've ever had a wedding. The cocktails were really delicious as well. Their entire staff was very professional, responsive, detail-oriented -- and extremely friendly and fun to be around! We had an insignificant amount of guests with food restrictions, and Michi's went above and beyond to make sure every single guest had a great experience. If I could, I would give Michi's 10 stars for their expertise, dedication to service, and quality of food. Thank you, Michi's!

stress-free! We got married at Viansa winery in Sonoma and we heard about Michi's from our wedding planner. The food was absolutely incredible and we got so many raves from our guests about it. The live bar (bao bar) was so much fun and so delicious and our guests loved it and couldn't stop talking about it. All the dumplings for the appetizers were amazing. And then the dinner - even my little cousin couldn't stop talking about how amazing the salad was, the salmon was my personal favorite part of the meal, and my family members messaged me afterwards just to talk about the japchae (glass noodles with vegetables). Raphael and Mike were both so organized and accommodating of all guests with food allergies and restrictions (even quite restricting ones!) and had so many amazing vegetarian and vegan options. Every guest was thrilled with the menu. Mike worked with us to put together the bar menu and we could not have done it without him! We were really excited about coming up with signature cocktails and mocktails, and Michi's took all of our ideas (even some wacky cocktail flavor combinations) and brought them to life, and our guests LOVED them. We got married at a winery, so we were responsible for ordering all the alcohol, which I was pretty nervous about but Mike made it so much easier on us. He helped us come up with a full shopping list based on our guest count and bar menu. I don't know what we would have done without them! Michi also handled all of the rentals and making sure the reception looked perfect, and it was such a help. Through this whole process, Mike and Raphael kept in mind that we are still in a pandemic and they were so wonderful about working with us for last-minute changes as well as the cost of the catering. Finally, Mike, Raphael, the whole Michi family, and the Michi team were all so amazing and wonderful to work with. We had multiple tastings with them (they even helped us figure out how to do tastings when we were on the other end of the country!!) and each time they made us feel so special and taken care of. The Michi family really seemed to care about us and they truly made our wedding perfect. We could not say enough nice things about them and we wholeheartedly recommend working with them.

food, vegetarian and vegan friendly options. Additionally, we wanted yummy food (as we are foodies at heart) and within our budget. We heard many great things about Michi through some friends, as they are using Michi for their wedding too, so we decided to go to a tasting. Their tastings are free, which nowadays is a rarity. Additionally, my husband and I were able to bring 2 guests. We brought my parents to our tasting and we were all blown away. The tasting takes place in a private area at Matrix and we were able to enjoy an evening with the Michi family and try amazing food. When you think of a free tasting, you would probably think there would be just a few items to try. This is definitely NOT the case here. We got a huge spread of different dishes to try..honestly, we were so full by the middle of the trying all the dishes, but we wanted to keep trying the other dishes. We were able to get to know the Michi family and connected with them. They are very family-oriented, professional, and down-to-earth. By the end of the night, we knew we wanted to go with them. They make you feel like you're family. The Michi family went above and beyond for us. Along our wedding planning process, we felt as though the Michi family was with us every step and so supportive and encouraging. They were super responsive and our day-of coordinator always mentioned how quick they were to respond to her. Additionally, we asked them for some vendor recommendations and they were always so quick to get back to us. For the wedding food options, we went with the live sushi bar during cocktail hour and we opted for a salad plated entree and buffet style. The buffet option gives the most bang-for-your-buck and is the cheapest option compared to family style and plated. Initially, we wanted to go with the family style, as most of our Asian relatives are used to for Asian banquet weddings. But it was the most expensive option. So we went with a hybrid approach. We did want our guests to have a "plated feel" too, so we went a plated-salad option. Another thing to note, many caterers provide soft drinks and for other drinks, the bride and groom would have to purchase those beverages. We felt very appreciative of the Michi family, as they provided soft drinks and other beverages as well. We asked if they would be able to provide apple cider and ginger beer (as one of our signature drinks was a Moscow mule) and without any hesitation said they would provide it for us. Woot woot! Trying our best to stick within our budget, this helped us tremendously. During our wedding day, the Michi family checked in on us multiple times and we were glad everything went without a hitch. (They even signed our guestbook!!!! It's the little things.) Our guests enjoyed the food and we heard comments of "this is the best wedding food ever!" We are so glad our guests enjoyed the food, as much as we did! The live sushi bar was such a hit as well. We are so glad the Michi family and team were a part of our big day. I would highly recommend Michi's Catering and we look forward to continue working with them on future parties and events.

ese and we knew that they were expecting a feast. However, we both didn't want to have our reception at a Chinese restaurant and wanted to also incorporate some Japanese and Korean food into our wedding. Michi was the PERFECT choice for us. He specializes in Asian fusion and his food was AMAZING. Our friends and family were raving about the meal and were stuffed that they could barely finish it all. We had about 6 courses with a sushi bar and a whole roast pig with roast duck. Seriously people were just eating the entire time. Michi was also super nice to us. He provided us with servers, dishes, utensils, bartenders, literally everything. He became a great friend and constantly was telling us how he and his family were praying for us, which was really nice. He also let us do two tastings, hosted us at his community club, and invited us to some really cool art exhibit that he was catering. Everytime his food was amazing! The fish is so fresh and cooked perfectly. Highly recommend booking with Michi. You will not regret it.
