Mid 80s Media is a wedding videographer based in Baltimore, MD. Owner John Braden makes it his mission to capture the special details that you worked so hard to plan. His films encapsulate the essence of your unique day and serve as a stunning reminder of your love story.
John had a successful career but he knew that he wanted more. He set out to find his true passion and he was able to find it in creating breathtaking wedding films. He and his photographer wife, Lacy, work to preserve precious moments in the lives of their clients. His enthusiasm for his craft is infectious as it translates to his ability to film honest and authentic memories.
Mid 80s Media provides customized packages to best suit your needs and budget. Your full-length wedding film will vary in length from 7 minutes to 20 minutes depending on your package choice. Raw footage of your wedding day will also be included. For those that are in need of additional coverage, a second videographer may be available for your wedding day. John will be with you for up to 10 hours of your event to ensure every moment is accounted for, from morning preparations to celebrations on the dance floor. As weather and location permits, he can add a dramatic feeling to your video with sweeping drone footage of your venue.

hearing from multiple people that they wish they had or that it was their best investment, we decided to take the leap. Seeing John’s portfolio made him a clear choice, as the way he layers high-quality audio recordings with stunning imagery cannot be beat in a highlight video. Seeing these amazing shots from our wedding day playing over the audio of our vows will never stop making me cry. Few videographers also offer raw footage now adays and the footage of our ceremony, speeches, and first dances is so gorgeous it feels like a fully edited film. My brother wrote and officiated our ceremony and I am SO glad I will have that entire thing to watch over and over again and eventually to show our kids. We were truly amazed at the quality and creative vision of his work and are so grateful we hired John.

There were a couple of small changes we requested and he took our feedback and applied it right away. To quote a comment on my mom's Facebook page, "This is the best wedding video I've ever seen!!! I felt like I was watching a Hallmark movie." I've watched it an embarrassing amount of times. Not only is his work fantastic, but he had such a calming presence the day of. He got beautiful footage of us, our loved ones, and the venue. I can't recommend him enough. If you are on the fence about a videographer, pull the trigger. One of the best things we and many of our guests appreciated about John was his ability to put people at ease. He is very confident in finding shots and directing you, but he is also very calm, with a friendly demeanor that makes him very personable and easy to talk to and follow. It is very clear he enjoys not only videography, but working on weddings and being a part of making happy people even happier.
We are very happy with the pre wedding, day of, and post wedding experience with John, and most importantly, we love our highlight and "big moments" videos.

He was unobtrusive during the event and worked in concert with the photographer. The result – an amazing video that effortlessly told the story of the intimacy and love of our marriage day. When I hired John he was fairly new to the wedding videographer business, but I could tell that he had a great eye for video and a lot of talent based on couple of videos in his portfolio (and he’s only gotten better since then!) So glad we hired him because the wedding video he did for us is gorgeous, and he’s also affordable.
Our wedding day was a whirlwind but John was great at directing and framing shots. We got married in a stream and he was walking around in the water with us and willing to get the angles needed to make a great video.
Unfortunately our live-stream for our families (coronavirus wedding) cut out and nobody could watch it, but John was kind enough to stitch together an entire video of the ceremony (complete with 3 camera footage and audio) the day after the wedding so we could send it to our families. This was way above and beyond our original agreement (a 3-5min hight-light video) and I am so thankful that he put it together for us so that I didn’t have to on my honeymoon! Turnaround on the highlight video was also very quick (1 week) and we’ve gotten so many compliments on it. All in all, I’d highly recommend Mid-80’s Media.
