If you're hesitant to book, I'm here to give you that extra nudge! ;) Midtown Strings were the perfect addition to our cocktail hour, adding that extra touch of elegance while still keeping the music fun and modern. The quartet played during cocktail hour, where guests started dancing + even requested a few songs, and then moved onto the dance floor of the ballroom while guests entered to be seated. Not only are they incredibly talented and professional, Natalie and team were super responsive and easy to work with!

I learned about Midtown strings while attempting to find vendors that were in Detroit and owned by women. Midtown strings checked all the boxes. We hired a string trio for our wedding at The Guardian Building in Detroit. I am so happy with how the day went, the strings were incredible. We chose specific songs including a Persian song to go along with a specific part of the ceremony. After finding the sheet music the trio played it with ease. My mother in law was in tears! I loved every bit of working with Natalie and I would highly recommend working with Midtown Strings for your event. Having live strings for the ceremony was an amazing touch especially while getting married in a historical building.

Working with Natalie from Midtown Strings for our wedding ceremony was an absolute pleasure. She answered all of our questions in a prompt manner and was able to provide an additional sound person when we needed one, AND brought us an extra music stand as a last minute request. The string trio that played at our ceremony sounded amazing; and they accompanied two of our friends who sang and played guitar as well as played the prelude, processional and recessional. Their playing and professionalism was stellar, and we received so many compliments on them. It was an absolute pleasure to work with Natalie and the Midtown Strings, and I recommend them to anyone looking for strings to accompany their ceremony or otherwise!

We hired Midtown Strings for ceremony music for our wedding on 9/23/2023 and I still think it was one of our best decisions and one of our favorite things about our wedding. They were so easy to work with, so professional, and the music was beautiful. Having live string music really added so much to our ceremony. Our guests absolutely raved about Midtown Strings. They have a very large list of music that you can choose from for them to play, and they even offer to learn a few songs if there is a song you would like that is not on their repertoire. I would hire them over and over again. I highly HIGHLY recommend them to make any occasion beautiful and memorable. We love Midtown Strings!

Midtown Strings performed at our ceremony on the skydeck of Lacuna Lofts and truly made it a magical night. They even learned "Girl on Fire" for me for my walk down the aisle. We got so many compliments on the rooftop ceremony, and they definitely set the vibe for us. We loved that we could choose so many contemporary songs on the strings. Midtown Strings exceeded all of my expectations for my wedding day! We hired them to play before/during the ceremony and during our cocktail hour. They were so easy to work with and made every step a breeze and even added 10 songs that we wanted played that were not apart of their library. We knew it would be an extra charge beforehand but we really wanted the songs played, we were expecting to pay a couple hundred dollars for them to add and learn them but they only charged us like $30! Their rates are extremely reasonable and they are all so talented! We got so many compliments about how awesome they were! I highly recommend hiring them for your wedding or whatever event it is where you might need some beautiful strings playing in the background!

We booked a string trio from Midtown Strings for our wedding ceremony and they did an incredible job. They had a huge repertoire of songs for us to choose from, but they also said that we weren't limited to that list and that they could learn pretty much whatever songs we wanted played! We picked a couple of songs that weren't on the list, and they played them beautifully. I have no complaints and am so happy they were able to do our wedding. Would highly recommend to anyone within their location range!

We could not have been more impressed with Midtown Strings! We relied a lot on reviews from other couples when looking for musicians for our ceremony and we were not disappointed. They were always very communicative and even adjusted to our desire to have an additional cellist a couple days before the wedding. The music was absolutely beautiful and we got so many compliments on what a beautiful tone the musicians set. If you're looking for badass female empowered musicians for your big day, I would really take a look at them. We'd 100% book them again if we had a re-do!

Midtown Strings is made up of some extremely talented musicians, and I’m so glad that they performed at my wedding last month! Their repertoire is huge and my husband and I had so much fun picking out our songs for the ceremony. We both love The Beatles, so our processional was a medley of Beatles songs. It sounded exactly like we were imagining, and made our ceremony even more special…and definitely made me cry like a baby. Many of our guests mentioned how much they loved the pre-ceremony selections as well, which were some modern and more classic songs that we felt connected to! The group was so professional, knowledgeable and responsive! I would absolutely recommend Midtown Strings to anyone planning a wedding in Downtown Detroit. :)

I cannot say enough about how wonderful it was to work with Midtown Strings and have them perform at our wedding. First of all, they were professional and easy to talk during the planning process. Secondly, they were all so talented - their performance during our ceremony and cocktail hour was perfection. I gave them a pretty long and specific list of songs we hoped to have played, and they played them all exquisitely. However, even if you don't have a list planned out, they offer a diverse repertoire of songs to choose from or help guide you. If you're looking to have beautiful instrumental music played at your event, I highly recommend contacting Midtown Strings!

I love partnering with Natalie from Midtown Strings. Beyond being extremely talented herself, she's also connected to a lot of other awesome and talented artists in the city. My business (event planning) has partnered with her to bring a variety of different music genres to life for our events - violin + DJ, violin trio, folk band with vocalist, jazz trio, etc - and each one brought a huge WOW factor that our attendees loved! Midtown Strings played for my daughter’s wedding in Chicago. They were totally professional. We hired a string quartet for the ceremony and a jazz trio for the cocktail hour. Besides sounding terrific, they were SO easy to work with. They responded to all my requests with ease. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone for any occasion. Everyone we hired are versatile and played the songs I asked beautifully!!! Again, would recommend to ANYONE - 10/10 for every aspect of any wedding or event!

We originally hired a different trio to play our wedding, mainly because their prices were lower than Midtown's. However, that soon proved to be a terrible decision. To make a long story short, we fired our original trio and hired Midtown Strings to play our Guest Arrival, Ceremony, and Cocktail Hour. On our wedding day, MTS arrived early, dressed professionally, and were very organized and prepared. THE CEREMONY WAS FLAWLESS. MTS was outstanding and we continue to receive feedback from our guests on how beautiful our ceremony was. I know MTS were largely responsible for making that happen. I would definitely recommend Midtown Strings for any wedding or event!

The ladies at Midtown Strings completely elevated my entire wedding. They played during the ceremony and cocktail hour and the guests were completely blown away by them!!! They had a huge repertoire and were also happy to learn additional songs in advance per my requests. They were super professional, looked amazing, and just made the entire space feel so much more regal, elegant, and special. Extremely glad I hired them! My only regret is that I didn't get to see them more as I was taking family portraits!!

Midtown Strings was the perfect touch to make our wedding ceremony magical at Robin Hills Farm! They were very professional and easy to communicate with leading up to the wedding. They provided a great list of music to pick from and were receptive to any unique requests we had. They were fantastic!!! There was a lot of uncertainty with planning a pandemic wedding, and they were very flexible and easy to work with. They curated a wonderful playlist that balanced traditional classical music with fun rock, pop, etc. based on the situation, and they sounded great. Our family and friends really liked them and gave a lot of positive feedback. We highly recommend them and would use them again for any other events.

Two ladies from Midtown Strings played violin and cello for our wedding reception. Although I didn't get to hear much of it (being hidden away prior to walking down the isle) we received several compliments from our guests! When I did walk down they played beautifully. WOW! Where do I even begin with how thankful I am for Natalie Frakes. Originally, my husband and I booked a different violinist for our 10/2/21 wedding. This violinist had something come up last minute, so she referred us to Natalie...and we couldn't be happier! Natalie had less than a month's notice, but she took our vision and executed it flawlessly. Our ceremony music was so elegant and romatic (we requested Disney songs), and our cocktail hour music was upbeat and energetic (top hits/classics with backtracks). She really set the tone for the entire evening and I have had multiple people reach out asking for her contact info. Natalie is flexible, kind, talented, and everything we could've imagined. I will absolutely be calling her again for future events. Natalie provided the special touch we needed for our ceremony and cocktail hour, and we are so grateful.
