Midway village museum was amazing! Andrea, our point of contact for sales was absolutely amazing!!! We hosted our ceremony and reception here. The whole staff was so helpful and ki...
nd. Shout our to Scott for being so amazing on the day of our wedding! They do offer a limited catering options but they are all so nice. We went with ABC Catering and they were amazing!!! We had so many compliments on the food they served and had tons of left overs to take home!
The venue it's self is very unique and that was something we really loved.
Be aware that you have to set up your stuff yourself. For me that was perfect because I had a great wedding party that was so willing to help. We decorated everything ourselves which really made it customized to our vision. We were a little worried if having the dinner on the second floor of the barn and the Dancing and bar in the first floor would be weird but it was not! We had a great dj who was instrumental in instructing our guest downstairs for first dances. Having the bar, photo booth and dance floor downstairs ended up being a huge advantage, it kept everyone on the dance floor and made for a great party!
Midway Village has many venue options and combinations on site. Our wedding was in October & the fall colors were beautiful & in full bloom all over their venue. They have outdoor ...
& indoor options & accommodate any size of wedding party.
Our wedding at Midway Village Museum was beautiful!!! Lisa and the staff are very easy to work with, and allowed us ample time to set up and prepare. They are flexible and worked w...
ith us to make all our visions become a reality for our special day. There are so many beautiful areas for photos. We held our ceremony at the gazebo, and it was absolutely gorgeous! The barn for the reception is perfect for a rustic barn wedding. Our guests had a great time and raved to us about how beautiful everything was. I cannot recommend them enough!
We had our wedding at Midway on 10/15/22. The place was gorgeous, my friends and family were blown away. Lisa from Midway was very responsive to requests and made our day perfect...
. The entire staff including Louis were accomodating and kind. They all worked well with our vendors to make the day seamless. I could not recommend Midway Village Museum enough for your wedding!!!

hose Midway) the barn was amazing. Lisa was amazing I had a 1000 questions from the time we put the deposit down to our wedding and she responded quickly and didnt get annoyed at all! if I had to get married again I'd do it here. hoping I dont have to though lol.
absolutely beautiful, a pleasure to work with, no issues, great flexibility!!!!!
When choosing between this location and one other I’m not gonna lie, it was mildly difficult. The second I saw the barn though I knew this was wear I wanted to have my wedding. The...
garden ceremony was gorgeous and the barn reception was adorable. This venue was definitely worth the money for the photo ops alone. Working with Lisa was also a blast! She was super nice and easy to talk to, not to mention easy to work with. No matter what questions I had she was right there to answer them! And even with another wedding there the night before, there was no evidence after the cleaning crew showed up! 10/10 would recommend <3
Wow! We had an amazing experience using the Midway Village Museum for our ceremony venue this past July! The property is unique and gorgeous, with endless picture opportunities -...
we did not even have a chance to explore the full property despite best efforts!
In addition to getting married at the Midway, we took our engagement pictures there as well. They have multiple ceremony sites but we got married at the gazebo site. The garden near the gazebo was in bloom and stunning the day of. The historical buildings are simply charming and whimsical, it tied in perfectly with the look and vibe we were going for. The staff at the Midway was so accommodating and laid back. They were quick to respond, easy to talk to and patient with questions we had about the ceremony space, timing and on and on. We were able to easily set up times to view and tour the venue. Lisa is a breeze to work with and they try to make things as easy as possible. We had no issues whatsoever. They had the site set up as needed for our rehearsal and wedding day. Our wedding coordinator also had a positive experience working with Lisa. They have a gorgeous bridal suite to use for pictures and getting ready on site and were accommodating with special requests. This venue should be on your short list! Working with people that care about making it a good experience makes all the difference in the world.
What a beautiful, quaint place to get married! They were very professional and nice. The church was perfect for the amount of guests we had, as well as the room for the reception.

More catering options would have been nice though.
Lisa is THE BEST! We were booking from out of town and she made the process so easy and answered all of our questions so quickly. Unfortunately we had a surprise move prior to our ...
wedding so we had to cancel. We are so sad because the venue is beautiful and Lisa was amazing! But even in canceling she was so helpful! Look no further than Midway Village! Thanks again Lisa!
We just got married this June at midway; ceremony at the gazebo and reception in the barn. Because midway is a small village of old buildings the photo opportunities are endless. O...
ur photos were stunning and the colors were so vibrant! We rolled the dice with and outdoor ceremony but it worked out perfect. The barn doesn’t have air condition (yet) so it was really really hot and most people spent their time outside the barn. I was a little sad we didn’t spend a lot of time in the barn because it’s gorgeous, but the grounds are beautiful as well so it worked out just fine! My guest told me it was the hottest wedding but was one of the most stunning venues they had seen. We couldn’t do anything about the heat so we just went with it and everyone still had a blast! Lisa is now in charge of wedding events and I absolutely loved her! She was fantastic, gave me ideas I didn’t think about and got back to me quickly about all my little questions. I would highly recommend checking out midway for your wedding celebration. I wouldn’t trade my photos for any other place! Midway Village Museum works great for any budget!
Everything and everyone who was involved with our wedding was just wonderful!! We planned our wedding within 2-3 short months and Midway Village (Lisa) was very willing to accommod...
ate with everything given the time allotted. We had our wedding ceremony at the old church in the village which was so memorable and unique. We were able to decorate to our satisfaction both in the church and in the wedding reception (Lake View room). I also enjoyed using the “bridal room” in the museum to help us prep for the big day. Again, it was an awesome place to have our wedding and I highly recommend looking into them as it was VERY reasonable.
The reason I am rating this a 4 star instead of 5 is because you must use their preferred caterers. Which on their end, I completely understand. However, the cost of the preferred ...
caterers were all around the same price point. Mary(the lady that held our hands throughout our whole process) was awesome to us, but our vendors didn’t seem to enjoy working with her. She usually kept in close contact and did everything she could to accommodate us. There were only one thing that I feel could have been expressed in a little more in detail. One of which they have places you may rent on the property for an extra cost to get ready the day of. Overall, the venue rental fee is awesome (actually probably the cheapest I was able to find)! It definitely was an awesome rustic feel. If you decide to go with the barn, the only thing that was a little hard for me to adjust to was the fact that some of our guest had to be seated downstairs. However, everything ended up going very smoothly. Everything turned out just as planned.
The church in this Victorian village was perfect. It was built in the 1800's and still has the original pews. It seats 75 people which made it intimate and personal for our small w...
edding. Our theme was vintage so this church set the tone for the ceremony.
We had scoped out different venues in the Rockford area that we could have an outdoor ceremony. I had been to a few weddings at Midway Village and I loved the atmosphere it offered...
. I was able to book our wedding date 1 year in advance and get everything that I had requested. We had our ceremony at the gazebo and our reception in the Lakeview Rooms. We were also able to rent the Hotel Chamberlain for our pre-wedding hangout. The whole thing went off without a hitch and was absolutely beautiful! And the price was perfect too!!!
Beautiful location. Reasonable prices and friendly staff.
We rented the barn for both our wedding and reception. The venue was beautiful and in an ideal setting for our rustic theme.
We did hit a few snags along the way. When we met for...
our final meeting with the coordinator a week before the wedding we were told that there were no other weddings or events the day we reserved the village. When we arrived the day before to setup, we were informed that there were actually two other weddings besides ours. It didn't make too much of a difference but did mean we had to call a few of our vendors and ask them to enter the village using a different route so they weren't driving through another ceremony. I'm not sure why the staff wasn't aware of the number of events being held.
Also, when we booked the barn we were told it would be cleaned and the floors would be mopped. Upon arrival for setup all of our chairs and tables were in place but the floors were lacking. There were places where it looked like someone had cleaned all the rocks out of their shoes. There was also gum on the floor in two different places and cobwebs that hadn't been taken care of. We called the main line and asked they be cleaned again and explained the issue. When I was leaving I ran into the man in charge of maintenance and asked if he'd received the call about cleaning the floors. He told me "Well the floors aren't going to shine" to which I responded I didn't want them to shine, I just wanted them to be clean. He insisted he had mopped the floors twice but said he'd sweep again if I needed him to. Luckily one of my bridesmaids made a big enough stink about the mess that it had been cleaned when we arrived the next morning to setup last minute details. The disrespect I received from the maintenance person really sat with me the wrong way. I don't think it's unreasonable to ask that the floors be clean for an event in which someone usually wears a long white dress. And if someone has really mopped a floor twice, I'm not sure how gum remains.
Other than those issues, I would recommend Midway. The value was great and we had a lot of flexibility with our other vendors since they don't have a set list you must choose from. However, I would also advise that couples take a walkthrough their chosen venue the day before to make sure that the housekeeping is up to snuff.
The place was beautiful, with a million photographic opportunities. It was easy to afford, and it ended up being a great night.

f. You need to be out and cleaned up by 12:15 at the latest. Only beer and wine allowed, and must pay $200 alcohol fee.
We had our reception in the Lakeview room and it was great! I really wanted to have our reception in the barn at Midway but it was not big enough for our event so we did the Lakevi...
ew Room instead. I wasn't super thrill at first because it is a pretty typical room, but once all the tables and decorations were set up it was beautiful! I loved all the outdoor places for pictures, we took a lot on the bridge, by the old mill, the general store and the gazebo! All of the places were beautiful! Fran who coordinates the rentals is great and very helpful whenever I had a question. I loved having the reception here and working with the people at Midway!
Beautiful area to take pictures outside very large room perfect for 150 guests and with enough room to not feel crowded or too large;everything worked out great!
