make the wedding day go remarkably smoothly. Not only did she have an answer for everything that came up, but she helped make sure the timeline ran on schedule all day. She was our biggest supporter on the wedding day! She was right behind us with waters and drinks all day, making sure we were as comfortable as we could be on a 90 degree day. She anticipated our needs before we even knew we needed something! We could not have made it through the last month without Lauren. Of all of the decisions that we made during the wedding planning process, choosing Lauren is one decision we would make a thousand times over. All of our guests were commenting on how amazing she was and we even have a bridesmaid that requested Lauren for her wedding next year after seeing her in action!

At one point, the band accidentally skipped our mother/son and father/daughter dances, but Kanoe was on it immediately and fixed it. She drafted a thorough contact list and weekend schedule that she shared out with all of our vendors along with confirming all of the timing and logistics so I didn't have to worry about reaching out to any of them myself in those crazy final few weeks before the wedding. Even after the wedding was over she was following up with vendors on my behalf to make sure we weren't charged for items that weren't delivered. but I am so glad we invested in a planner. The final month leading up to the wedding is stressful even for the most organized bride, and having a person to help alleviate some of the burden and be a sounding board is worth every penny! We had originally picked a different planner, but due to unexpected life changes, we were assigned Lauren a few months out. I'll be honest, being Type A and a slight control freak, I was nervous but she knocked it out of the park! Lauren's main goal was allowing the bride and groom to enjoy the day and not be bothered with any questions or issues. I felt so at ease the entire day and knew she'd handle anything that came her way. I spent nearly three years working with Ashely, and I simply cannot imagine how our wedding day would have possibly come together without her. She was kind, gently nudged me to be more responsive and organized when I needed to be, and felt more like a friend to me than a vendor by the time we finally had our wedding. In the last several months of planning, I had the pleasure of working with Alexa from MB. Like Ashely, Alexa was kind and generous with her time. Alexa was particularly keen to help take on some day-of coordination with vendors. Her presence made me feel so much better as I started to get more overwhelmed with details by the end. Even after the wedding, Alexa continued to be an MVP and help us with an unexpected rental return that she went out of her way to help us coordinate. om the beginning. If you are like me and get massively overwhelmed with all of the planning and coordination that comes with hosting an event… HIRE A WEDDING PLANNER! I felt like my life was just descending into chaos and then Ashley swooped in and lifted all of the weight off my shoulders in the last month - and so effortlessly! I have absolutely no idea what I would have done without her. She created a detailed wedding day schedule and coordinated all of the vendors using her years of experience rather than needing a ton of input from me (thank goodness because I was clueless about the timeline), but was always available to call or text if I had questions or changes. She also ran our rehearsal like a total boss and it was at that point I felt like I could breathe and just enjoy the weekend knowing everything would be okay. I am a person who constantly focuses on the worst case scenario so the fact that I could just relax and let go is saying a lot, but she was so comforting! If something went wrong, I definitely never heard about it. From our first interaction I trusted her fully and I'm sure the rest of her staff is just as amazing. Obviously all wedding vendors are important, but in hindsight I now realize that a coordinator or planner can be make or break. I have only incredible memories of my wedding day and I truly would not have enjoyed myself as much as I did without Ashley and Midwestern Bride. I can’t recommend them enough!

I am very Type A and organized, so I was a little nervous handing over the reins, but I knew after my first conversation with Kanoe that we were in great hands. She is extremely personable, detail oriented, down to earth, but at the same time very "no nonsense", essentially the perfect wedding planner. She does not push her opinions, but helps you make final decisions if you are having a hard time. She answered all my emails in an extremely timely manner and was even able to in the final week before our wedding secure our late night snack vendor that we were having trouble reaching for months. She was poised and in control our entire day and truly did not allow me to worry about anything, even if I tried! She kept in mind our hope to not spend too much time taking photos after dinner and came to get us for our first dances so our timeline did not get too thrown off. She also saved the day with a handful of safety pins when my dress broke with about an hour left in the night. I swear I had barely looked up after feeling it break and there she was already fixing the problem. We have gotten so many compliments about how beautiful our day was and I truly think Kanoe was a big part of that. She made our vision come to life. I would 100/10 recommend her to anyone.

I always thought that people were crazy when they said their wedding day was the best day of their lives, but I was wrong, because my wedding day was just that and more and I truly believe that it wouldn’t have been as special and amazing if it wasn’t for Alex, my new friend, and Midwestern Bride. We had a meeting about a month before wedding when she went over EVERYTHING. She then followed up with all vendors to make sure everything was addressed and made a timeline (which is a lot harder than it seems). I had a lot of decorations planned and knew I was going to need someone to move them. A budgeting technique of mine was to reuse the ceremony decorations again in the ballroom. Ashley set up the ceremony and then moved it all to the ballroom. And not only was she spot on with decorations, she made sure the rest of the wedding went without problems. Once the wedding was over and guests were transitioning to cocktail hour, she was there asking us if we needed anything. She showed up during professional pictures outside of just the groom and I with waters (almost on que when photographer asked us if we had plenty of water during the day). She brought me appetizers and wine while my hair and make up got touched up. She came running into the ballroom to inform us of an unique photo opportunity (a rainbow). She was really there for EVERYTHING and I was almost stress free thanks to her and her team. Trust me brides (and grooms), her service is something that is worth it- I promise. Also, I commend her for her response to COVID and the postponement of our wedding. She allowed a change date without added charges or headache.

We were living out of town at that time but had a planned move to Madison coming up so I started to look for Midwest wedding planners and thankfully stumbled upon Midwestern Bride's website and instagram. I loved the photos of weddings she had done and after I reached out she responded first thing the next day - I appreciated her prompt reply and felt that her communication and accessibility throughout the entire process was excellent. That includes spending the first several months of planning during which most of the planning was done over the phone while out of town, and then transitioning to in person meet ups and her joining me to visit vendors once we actually moved to Madison. Throughout the time we spent planning she was fun, creative, reliable, and made me feel like our day was top priority even though I know she was concurrently juggling several other weddings herself and with her team. She worked with me to come up with unique details -- in my initial email to her I stated I wanted a "pinterest" wedding but did not have the time or experience to do that on my own - and she definitely delivered! She found me an amazing team of vendors who were perfect for us; the hair and makeup artists, photographer, florist, venue, caterer, rental company etc. were all also wonderful and easy to work with and pulled off exactly what was promised and more the day of. Ashley was also great at keeping us on budget, and adjusted plans as different parts of our budget changed throughout the planning process, keeping me apprised of where we stood at each step of the way. I really appreciated that she always suggested multiple vendors for each need (venue, flowers, catering, rentals, etc.) and encouraged me to tour (in case of the venue) or meet with more than one when time allowed so that I could feel confident in my choices. When something didn't feel like it "clicked" she would make sure she understood what it was I didn't like and suggest alternatives. She has so many contacts that finding the perfect vendors felt easy! My husband and I were so happy we found and went with Ashley. She made the planning process so much easier than it would have otherwise been, kept us on track budget-wise and timeline-wise even with our long planning window, let me have autonomy in my choices for different vendors and the overall style of the wedding while giving me plenty of options, took the time to get to know my husband and I so that she could make personalized suggestions for us, coordinated with all of the vendors throughout the months before the wedding, more frequently as the date got closer and made sure that set up and execution day of went seamlessly (including having to add a tent last minute for unexpected June rain). Our friends and family were super impressed with her and many commented on how professional she was at the wedding. We have absolutely no regrets about our decision to hire Ashley and are so grateful we found her while hunting for our planner. She is an amazing person and will be such an asset to you as you plan your dream wedding! Inexplicably, we had several gigantic problems before and during the wedding - including a major traffic accident 20 minutes before the ceremony that blocked off the venue entrance. Ashley expertly handled everything and was able to conceal the nasty details from us to allow me and my wife to enjoy the day. We are truly in her debt.

The location proved to be a challenge due to lack of reliable local vendors, but Ashley did not give up! She found the right people for every job, and they were all such a pleasure to work with. She kept us on schedule, coordinated with all vendors on our behalf, stayed on time and budget, and she even went out of our way to make sure our kids were entertained. All of our family said it was the smoothest wedding they've ever attended and all the kudos go to Ashley! The day was just perfect and we are so grateful that we had Ashley to help make that happen.
