If you're looking for an all inclusive venue where all your friends and family can stay together, Migis Lodge cannot be topped! We loved having the entire property to ourselves to ...celebrate our wedding with our favorite people. Kate, Maddy, and all of the Migis staff were friendly, easy to work with, and provided top notch service throughout our wedding festivities. The ease of not worrying about transportation or a ton of vendors was what made this venue so attractive to us in the first place. It does come with a hefty cost though.
We toured (and fell in love with) the property in the fall of 2022 and were hoping for a 2023 date but FYI: they have a VERY limited number of dates available for weddings each year (19 in 2023 and only 17 in 2024 including Saturdays, Sundays, and in 2024 a Monday wedding on Memorial Day). When we toured in 2022, they hadn't released their rates or dates for the 2024 wedding season, so we referred to the 2023 pricing. Unfortunately their prices increased dramatically for the 2024 season, as most wedding industry vendors did post-pandemic. We were added to a waitlist (of 20+ couples) to choose a date and ended up with our top choice of Memorial Day; being a Monday it was the most affordable option. There are additional charges beyond the per person price (some of which are clearly outlined in the contract) for a ceremony fee, bonfire fee, and other add ons, which felt a little unnecessary considering how much we were already spending.
We were required to host an 80 person (minimum) rehearsal dinner the night before (all Saturday weddings require 100 people minimum). We turned this into a welcome dinner for all guests joining our wedding which was lovely since so many people travelled from far away to be there. It was a buffet style dinner hosted outdoors and the food was delicious. It also took a lot of pressure off of the wedding, getting to see and talk with everyone at the welcome dinner.
We loved how much flexibility we had with choosing our wedding menu, rehearsal dinner menu, and the bar options. Our cake was also included with the venue. We opted for an ice cream sundae bar for our guests and had a small cake for ourselves. The options for food are endless - Chef John and Cait can do it all!
The overnight accommodations and lakefront location are incredible. Each cabin is absolutely stunning and there is more than enough room for everyone to spread out. We loved being able to assign our guests to cabins and loved all of the options of cabin sizes (almost all of the 2+ bedroom accommodations have ensuite bathrooms which was a huge plus for our guests!) The discounted overnight rate was appreciated and included breakfast each morning.
My only gripe with Migis is that they do not accept cards. All payments (for both us and our guests) needed to be paid with cash or check at check out. Having our entire wedding bill given to us the morning after, and having to pay cash or check for it, was slightly overwhelming.
All in all, we would highly recommend Migis Lodge for your special day. The location can't be beat, the food and overnight accommodations are impeccable, and the all inclusiveness makes for easy planning.
