Mignonette Bridal

There is no way a single review could do justice to Kpoene' and her work at Mignonette Bridal and Ette Tailor. I brought her my mother's wedding dress, from 1988, which she completely revitalized for my wedding in April. We removed a mesh collar and puffy sleeves from the original beaded bodice of the dress, then added layers of English netting over the original skirt and train to create a brand-new silhouette. Over the course of about a year, Kpoene' did the most incredible seamstress and design work I have ever seen. My dress was gorgeous, unique, an heirloom, entirely mine without being devoid of its history, perfectly tailored to my body, something old and new all at once. She offered valuable opinions, worked carefully to make sure the dress fit my vision, her vision, and my mom's vision (!!), made sure I was comfortable, encouraged me to eat more pizza when the stress of wedding planning caused me to suddenly lose weight...Kpoene' also ended up meeting about half of my bridal party, all of whom are now obsessed with her. She is the best person, and I mean that both in terms of being a dress-maker and designer, but also in terms of just who she is. It has been an absolute gift to have gotten to know her, even if only professionally. I, too, am obviously obsessed with her. She and the team at Ette Tailor also did the alterations on the dress I wore during the latter half of the reception. It is also stunning and something I think I will wear for many years to come. Kpoene' & co. absolutely managed to capture who I wanted to be on my wedding day and what I wanted to radiate, in both of my (very different) dresses. In sum, if you are looking to work with an heirloom gown, to revamp an older dress, or to seek out alterations on a dress, or to pick one of the beauties that Kpoene' herself has made...this is what you are looking for. My wedding would have been absolutely different, and substantially less magical, without Kpoene' and Mignonette Bridal and Ette Tailor.

I wanted to do separates for my wedding to change my look a little between the reception and the ceremony. I decided to try to make my mother's wedding dress into a reception skirt. Kpoene was AMAZING. She gave me EXACTLY the vision I had. When I was having trouble finding a beaded lace that matched my heavily beaded top, she found a lace similar and bought a variety of beads to HAND BEAD the lace at the top and bottom of the skirt. She even styled the lace to "crawl" up the back of the train. The team at Ette and Kpoene worked tirelessly on my project even the week of the wedding (I kept trying to maintain weight but was somehow losing it like crazy!). Working with Mignonette Bridal and Kpoene was one of the best wedding experiences! I cannot thank them enough.

Endless compliments on the uniqueness of my wedding dress. The lace was unlike anything anyone had ever seen. The alterations were perfect leading up to the event despite weight loss. She was so patient with me as I pieced together my vision, including accessories. When I mentioned I loved off the shoulder, it was her idea to make the straps removable - which was the best idea and made the transition to the dance floor seamless! If you are looking for a unique dress that is elegant and has a vintage touch look no further!

The ladies at Ette took care of my wedding dress alteration and I am extremely satisfied with their professionalism and work. My Pronovia wedding dress was a little hard to work on because of its intricate details, but they were able to delicately fix it so it would fit me like a glove. Ariana was really sweet and very patient with me when I asked for multiple adjustments on every visit. Everyone at the wedding (and even people who weren't able to make it but saw my gown on my social media account) complimented me about how beautiful and perfect my dress was for me. I am really happy I found this store and I highly recommend them to every bride who wants their wedding gown to be beyond perfect.
