Mike Medved Weddings- All Day Musician and DJ

ached out to inquire about becoming a preferred vendor at the venue I was managing at the time. The minute I met him I knew he was a unique vendor - live music, DJ’ing, and honestly one of the kindest people I’ve ever met. We asked Mike to play a number of community events and recommended to our couples, and he was always so easy to work with (and honestly made my job a lot easier on event days!) so I took my (now) husband to see Mike play and he agreed - Mike HAD to be there for our big day. The morning of our wedding, I was so disappointed to see rain in the forecast, as our ceremony was set to be outdoors. Mike was such an advocate for my dream ceremony - he did everything possible to get us outside. He moved his setup around to accommodate us and made it happen. We had a slight window where the rain stopped and we were able to have our perfect ceremony by the lake. The tears really started flowing when I heard Mike playing the song I’d chosen for my entrance, and I think I actually started crying harder when I saw him as I walked out, because I knew how hard he had worked to make my ceremony so special. The tears continued as he played the most wonderful version of “Sweet Child O’ Mine” for the father daughter dance. My dad was so skeptical at my song choice with a Guns N’ Roses song, but he actually leaned in mid-dance and said “Hey Mike is really good, this song is pretty great.” Dad approved! ✔️ All of my family and friends were so impressed between the live music at the ceremony/cocktail hour and Mike keeping the party going DJ’ing throughout the rest of the evening. He kept us on track with all events (which was really important to me as a former wedding pro!) and really just made every aspect of the day so special and magical for Paul and I (not to mention he was extremely organized pre-wedding and I had absolutely no doubts day-of, he really put us at ease). I truly cannot recommend Mike enough, I would hire him a hundred times over. If you’re looking for a way to make your day unique, Mike is your guy!

w lucky we got with Mike! The dance floor was packed all night, I never wanted to leave! Mike played all of our requests and also played other music that matched exactly what we wanted. He honored all of my requests and do not play list and brought every idea I had in my head to life! He coordinated with us over the phone ahead of time which was so awesome and helped plan how the night was going to run. On top of all of that, Mike is a talented musician who did an acoustic cocktail hour and sung our first dance song! It was such a unique thing that I've never seen before at a wedding and I didn't think it was possible, but I love Mike's version of our song more than the original! was receptive to music requests we had, but he able to explain what would best acoustically as we mapped everything out! He was so incredibly patient with us as went back and forth with our first dance music. He also coordinated a surprise song for me with my Dad.. a moment we will cherish forever. His live performance of our own first dance song was beyond beautiful and even with the rain we experienced, he was so relaxed and was a HUGE part in making our wedding day so fun! Speaking of fun, he was perfection when it came to navigated our dance floor... we had people on the dance floor all night! We cannot thank him enough for what was the best day of our life!!

Not only was Mike professional, kind, flexible and accommodating while working with us, but our other vendors and guests had nothing but positive remarks about Mike. On our wedding day, the venue took our cake away before we had the opportunity to cut it. Mike went into the kitchen and stopped the caterers from cutting our cake so that we could have that special moment. And that’s the beauty with Mike, he wants you comfortable and wants you to provide the vision and he will adapt accordingly. He allowed us to give him lots of direction. He’s a great listener. What’s also nice about Mike though, is that the times we were hesitant or uncertain … we could lean on him and he would take the drivers seat. He’s seen so many weddings in his career which makes him very knowledgeable about the many little things we never thought about during the process. The guy is kind and patient. He has the ability to take a back seat and listen and also knew when to push us to get things moving. He knew all the right questions to ask us so we had a great plan going into wedding day. His versatility is incredible. We saw him at a friends wedding and knew we had to book him and we were not disappointed. All our guests went out of their way to complement his talents. “Where did you find this guy” they would all say. Mikes is also great at understanding weddings are expensive and he will work with you on payment plans to make sure you can pay him over time prior to the start of your wedding day. It helps so you don’t have to cut one check upfront or the day of your wedding. But let me tell you he is worth every dime. I would hire him again in the future for other events. an acoustic cocktail hour for us (which was actually almost 2 hours) and then became the DJ for the evening. He is super organized and did everything through google docs which was a DREAM since we were planning from afar. He learned a few of our favorite songs (this is not extra, just something he does!) and even gives the option to play the first dance song live. He has a ton of experience and made the entire evening flow effortlessly. The sound system he used in the barn was fantastic and he and my photographer (who did not previously know each other) worked together so well. Two of my favorite moments from the day were the bridal dance and our last dance, both of which Mike played a huge role in. Not to mention, the dance floor was never empty even with the high temps!

He is the most unique DJ in that he will play acoustic and sing for a live cocktail hour experience as well as your first dance if you would like. What makes Mike unique is the fact that he not only pumps up your dance floor, he also sings and plays the acoustic guitar live. We had Mike play live for our ceremony and cocktail hour (you can create your own set list or choose from a list of songs he provides), and our guests were floored with his talent and the uniqueness that having a live musician brought to our special day. We cannot imagine having chosen anyone else as our DJ! Run, don't walk, to send an inquiry to Mike- you WILL NOT be disappointed.

It is something so different from other weddings that we have been to and our guests raved about it. If you want to add a unique touch to your wedding without doing any extra work, Mike is your guy! Mike also kept our dance floor full and entertained our guests for hours. Some friends had requests and he made sure it was ok by either the bride or groom before it was played which was nice. Also, we could put the venues disco ball on and he ran it by us for approval before there were any changes, so he really made sure the day was everything we wanted before anyone else. We knew he would do a great job but he really exceeded our expectations. Mike took the time to make our vision come to life. My father wanted a mashup for the father-daughter dance and Mike put together a few different mashups to choose from. Mike was also quick with any responses, questions, and changes that we had. The day before, we realized we needed another set up area for him to perform for the cocktail hour. He was so attentive and had no problem making any changes that we needed the day before. You can tell Mike just wants to make your wedding day so special and he makes sure that happens. We can not recommend Mike enough. He was thoughtful, kind, and paid attention to all the details. Definitely check him out!

ike even learned some very special music for my husband, which made us both so pleased. Mike has the most beautiful voice and gentle manner which blended wonderfully in our garden setting . Mike is great at communicating through email and phone and outlining the whole process. We knew everything would go smoothly and it did! He is the best. Pick him!

was extremely important to my sister, so I really wanted to make it special for her. I could not have picked better people to make this happen. Although Mike did not perform for the event, all my communication was with him. He was attentive to what my sister envisioned, but made suggestions to make the day that much better. Mike’s colleague, Ty, is who performed. Everyone was so impressed with his talent, so much so that we requested he stick around for an extra hour! His acoustic and vocals were beautiful, but he also knew what songs to play to get everyone on the dance floor. I would strongly recommend Mike and Ty. I promise, you will not be disappointed!

He learned the song and sent us a BEAUTIFUL recording that we used as I walked down the "aisle" in the woods.
