Mike is an absolute professional. Worth every penny!

I can't recommend Mike enough! We fell in love with his style while looking for a photographer in the Austin area and set up a call with him immediately. We were looking for someone that could work with color and be down for a more relaxed wedding. Mike was absolutely perfect for us! He's a delight to work with and he helped keep us relaxed throughout our whole wedding day. He handled our families with ease and had us laughing constantly through our portraits. Our guests adored him and were happy to have him around. On top of all of that, the pictures that Mike took for us are beyond our wildest dreams! Mike is a wizard with a camera and everything he took has turned out so, so beautiful. It was even better than we had hoped for! I promise you'll not regret working with Mike for any of your photos. He's an amazing photographer and a phenomenal person!

Mike is very professional and friendly. He got to know us before the wedding to see our personalities in true form and communicated very well throughout the whole process. On the day of the wedding, I as the bride, was all over the place but, he was calm and cool. Capturing all the moments. I didn't have to ask or guide him in any way. He is very intuitive. He grabbed us for some fun shots after the ceremony before the reception. It was nice to be away from the crowd for just a moment to enjoy each other. It was everything to me to be able to be present with my loved ones and not have to worry. The photos are incredible! All the laughter, slight glances, spontaneous moments; it is all there in the photos. He captured it all! Oh, did I mention he was in the process of moving to CO while our wedding planning was going on in Salado, TX. He didn't skip a beat. He’s great!

Mike was amazing! He and his assistant met us at the venue (coming from CO) well in advance of the ceremony start time to discuss shoot locations and procedures. He took the time to shoot us, as well as family groups separately, in multiple configurations. The pictures turned out phenomenal and in abundance. Only reason not five stars was the turn around time for photos was longer than expected. Would definitely recommend Mike for a great photographer!!

We hired Mike for our wedding photos, and he was excellent! The photos were so important for us to have, and he nailed it. We loved his natural style in the photos. He knew our venue well and got us great shots in beautiful locations. We were so comfortable around him that we totally forgot we were being photographed and had a great time! Mike was an absolute PRO! I look at my wedding pictures at least twice a month just to relive the magic. Like a lot of people, we weren't very comfortable in front of the camera, but Mike made it all so easy and natural and then when we saw the end product we were absolutely blown away. He perfectly captured the happiness and joy of the day, our humor, our love, everything! Also, he totally listened to how we wanted it to go - we weren't the couple that needed 1,000 family groupings, hands holding, kissy kissy, etc, we wanted to get some lovely shots and then go party with most of the shots being candid - and he did just that but also made sure we didn't miss any grandparents :) He helped us secure a vision and executed it in the best possible way. In fact, several people came up to me after the fact and said "OMG your photographer is amazing!" I would 3000% recommend Mike to anyone looking for a professional, kind, and beyond talented photographer for your special day!

Mike was absolutely incredible. We asked Mike to take both our engagement photos and the wedding photos. Both sessions were easy-going, flexible, creative, perfectly captured me and my husband’s relationship and personalities as well as the breathing taking Hill Country sunsets at our unique venue. They were filled with laughs, a ton of fun, and produced some truly magical photos. Mike is a wonderful marriage of professionalism and genuine friendliness. He always arrives early, has a game plan, and is a wizard with lighting /all fancy-photography-things. We received edited previews very promptly from both sessions and then all of the photos shortly afterwards without any problems. Mike and his team were able to capture all of the small details that we put into our wedding day and also snapped some truly incredible photos of not only my husband and myself, but all of our guests, and the pulsating joy of our wedding day. Mike Reed was the photographer for my bridal session in late June and our wedding in mid-September and the photos are beautiful! From the get go, Mike puts everyone at ease with his knowledge of photography (all of his guidance was on point!), his professionalism, and his humor. On the day of the wedding, he made everyone feel so comfortable and the pictures he and the second photographer took are just beautiful. They captured all of the happy, joyful and playful moments from our day perfectly. Our families have loved looking at the photos and we cannot wait to build our album! There are so many more highlights of working with Mike including how fast he is able to turn the photos around and the way he makes sure he really gets to know you as a couple, but above all else, he was a joy to work with and we are beyond happy with the photos!

Holy crap, y'all - what can I say about Mike that would do him justice. 1) During our first meeting, he took the time to really get to know us as a couple. We wanted to make sure we hired a photographer who took us as we were - a generally goofy, not-so-conventional couple that was less concerned with tradition and more with creativity and joy. He delivered that tenfold with tons of off-the-wall ideas for our engagement photos and our wedding photos. 2) Our engagement session was incredible. We took some pictures at Pinballz Arcade and he even arranged for my husband (then fiance!) to get inside one of the claw machines. It was so much fun to work with him then, and it helped us prep for our wedding session the following year. They were the perfect mix of joyful, sweet, loving, creative, and fun - exactly what we were going for. And he had so many awesome and hilarious and fun ideas about poses and props. Such a great experience. 3) We just got our wedding prints back, and OH MAN. We are SO happy with them. He and Barbara just nailed it in every shot. The day was a day full of joy, laughter, and - above all else - not taking anything too seriously. And that's what the photos reflected. All of the photos were so *us.* I wish I could express how happy were are adequately. Related note: he was incredible at managing and working through all of the logistics of the day (as well as with guiding our family portraits along). He's a consummate professional and we were so glad to work with someone who was so on top of everything that happened. Hiring Mike was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. Part of me is tempted to get divorced this week and then have another wedding and have him shoot it again (that's a joke, husband). But seriously, we cannot recommend him enough. A true treasure of a person and of a photographer.

We found Mike after searching for local Austin photographers online and immediately loved his focus on bright bold colors. After meeting him in person, it was clear he was very easy going and knew how to read our relationship quite well. He got to know us a bit as a couple and then helped us polish our loose vision for engagement photos--going tandem biking in Zilker Park was perfect. There is so much to anticipate during wedding planning, so we were relieved to find an awesome photographer for our wedding the following year. Mike and Barbara were fantastic on the big day! Mike Reed was not only an amazing professional, but he also was just a wonderful human being!!! I took to the internet to find a photographer and was immediately blown away with Mike Reed's website. I was a bit nervous because Mike was a male, and I really wanted to do a boudoir session (I had never attempted anything of the sort before) as a wedding present for my husband. I spoke with Mike over the phone and met with him in person. He had many examples and ideas- you could tell he knew his stuff and wanted you to 100% happy with your results. It immediately put me at ease, and I couldn't be happier with my decision. If you are thinking of doing a boudoir session with Mike-DO IT! It was not awkward. It was completely professional, and your husband will drool over the results. For the wedding, he kept up with me throughout the year and helped me make photo lists to ensure a smooth and stress-free wedding day. He also was able to work with spur of the moment changes such as the sun, the heat, "my bridesmaid wants this picture", "the groom's grandma is missing", etc. LOL. My wedding was perfect. His pictures are flawless, and he will go above and beyond to give you what you want. You'll love him as your photographer!

They were awesome!! We are so happy with our photos. We chose Mike pretty quickly after we saw his work. He brings such vibrancy to his pictures that makes them really beautiful. They were great to work with and made us feel really comfortable. They seemed genuinely excited about the photos there were getting which made it so much fun to do. I would recommend them to anyone!

Mike and his assistant Barb were superb from start to finish! We had a rather large wedding, so it was fantastic to know that we would have 2 photographers to cover the entire event and not miss any details. The highlight of it all was that Mike is also a Star Wars fan. My husband incorporated Lightsabers in our wedding reception, and Mike ran with the idea to do a short photoshoot with them! We ended up with super awesome silhouette shots of me "battling" my husband with lightsabers!! He is extremely open to ideas of the client and doesn't ever make you feel silly for asking him questions or asking him about a silly photo you want to take. He suggests venues for engagements and bridals and will provide advice on anything you're curious about - light, time of day to shoot, poses that photograph well, anything. Our pictures turned out better than any expectation we could have had. Spontaneous, artsy, capturing every moment of the evening and each detail, beautifully. More importantly, Mike and his crew were absolutely fabulous to work with, I didn't even realize they were there after our formal shots. They were a blast, and our formal photos not only look outstanding, but we all had a lot of fun (and he put up with our rowdy group). I literally want to put every single picture he took in our album. Too many perfect pictures to choose from. Wouldn't have changed a thing!!

Mike was fantastic, from the pre-planning meetings to make sure every picture we wanted captured and where was planned out; to the day of when he followed us to our new house being built to snap a few shots before heading to the reception; and to the final product of each and every picture captured and the layout of our photo book (I'm still editing it and choosing pictures because there were so many good ones to choose from!) Mike photographed our elopement at Hotel Saint Cecilia in Austin this past July and I couldn't be more thrilled with the photographs! Several months prior, I had interviewed three photographers over the phone and after speaking with Mike I immediately knew he was the photographer we should go with. Since we were eloping and wouldn't need wedding party and guest pictures, he recommended that we go with the Engagement Package and that he would be certain to get all of the important shots. When the wedding day came Mike was fantastic! He gave just the right amount of direction, he was very friendly and easy to talk and joke with. He was also great with our dogs. Now for the best part! He sent us the edited wedding photos that night!! We were able to view our wedding photos and email them to our families that same day. What a surprise! Mike Reed and his assistant Barbara are awesome. My groom and I got married at Umlauf Sculpture Garden and it started raining right as we were supposed to start "first look" pics. Mike and his team quickly reconfigured the set up and found an indoor space for us to take the photos-- they turned out great. Luckily the rain stopped and we were able to get some great outdoor pics as well. I recommend Mike for two big reasons: 1) he doesn't do the soft-focus, white washed wedding pics that are all the rage these days. Our photos are colorful, vibrant, and look like real life. 2) he gives you a copy of EVERY pic he takes, not just the ones he thinks are the best. This made me happy because there are some great, hilarious pictures in the b-sides! I would definitely recommend Mike to anyone needing a wedding photographer.
