We loved working with Mike for our engagement and wedding! He is so friendly, open, and engaging in his demeanor. We loved how communicative he was. We so appreciated his directions as my husband and I have no experience with portraits. He knew just how to place us for the best shots. We recommend him without hesitation!

Mike is who you want to be your photographer! He has a special talent for connecting with people, making you feel comfortable, and getting amazing photos. His philosophy is to tell the story of your wedding through photos and he definitely achieved this when I look back now. Mike was friendly and communicative from the start. He asked what style of photos we wanted and he delivered on our vision. Everyone at the wedding including family and the vendor was raving about how great he was. From start to finish, Mike was attentive to detail and went above and beyond to help us capture our vision for our wedding day. The thing that drew us to him was his extensive portfolio that allowed us to see his work going back to 2016 and seeing how his work has developed over the years. It was clear from the start that he was experienced and we would be in good hands. After reaching out to Mike, we set up a phone call and he walked us through what our wedding day would look like with him. This part was especially helpful because it was obvious that he had a systematic approach after years of experience. Closer to the wedding day, we met in person to go over details and the itinerary for the day. We have a very big family - we had over 30 family photo combinations to take with the largest being 50+ people. We were surprised by his lack of concern for the amount of photos we wanted. The day of, these photos went faster than we anticipated and we finished ahead of schedule! Mike was great getting people organized and kept up with all the moving parts. Some of the guests commented on how discrete he was! He floated around during the ceremony and reception to capture the day but was not intrusive or clunky. We received the final portfolio exactly 3 weeks after our wedding day which included tons of candid photos of us, the guests and the space. The quality of the entire collection is excellent! We loved working with Mike and recommend him to everyone!

I can’t say enough good things about Mike. From the second we connected with him, our experience has been amazing. He is prompt with communication, friendly, personable and makes you feel comfortable in front of a camera. He made all our friends and family laugh, even in the coldest of temperatures. Our wedding day was magical, and so much of that we owe to Mike. Before the wedding there was great communication, planning, and an easy going engagement shoot that definitely helped us get more comfortable being in front of the camera, especially with Mike’s guidance. On the wedding day Mike was everything we could have hoped for, and more. He was professional and enthusiastic. He helped capture all of the moments we wanted and was invaluable when it came to directing the family for portraits. Mike was INCREDIBLE!! We just got married on Saturday and he made the day so seamless and so fun. He and Miranda were incredibly organized throughout the day and so photos were super efficient. He went above and beyond to make us feel special on our wedding day (such as buying umbrellas in case it rained, getting to the venue early, etc). Mike was an excellent photographer. He was extremely professional, hopping on the phone for an hour to get a sense of us as a couple, establish our interests, and to give us insight into his approach to wedding photography. The engagement shoot with Mike was a lot of fun, he immediately established a rapport with us, which continued through to the end of our wedding. We had lots of fun stopping traffic all across Portsmouth NH to take our engagement photos, and Mike was very good about directing us to ensure that we had many photos with a variety of poses. With our wedding, Mike was a photographer, coordinator, and constant source of entertainment. He helped the groom pin his boutonnière, directed the bride to the first look, entertained the children, and wrangled a large wedding party to knock out all of our day-of photos. We cannot recommend Mike enough and wish him all the best in the future!

The best photographer in New England. Mike did my fiance's sister's wedding and I absolutely loved how he made them feel so comfortable. I booked him right away when we got engaged! He recently did our engagement shoot. The best part about Mike as a photographer is that he is going to photograph authentic pictures. I have seen pictures that seem too staged and the poses aren't natural. With Mike, he just wants you to be yourself and allows you to be in front of him because he is so easy to be around. It was touching to see how excited he got while taking our engagement photos. He had never been to Crane Beach and really enjoyed taking photos there. I am so excited for him to take photos at our wedding! He makes you and your partner feel special and beautiful, so it is natural for your photos to come out great.

Hands down the best photographer you can choose for your wedding. We met Mike a few years back and knew we wanted to use him whenever it came time for us to get married. We even set our wedding date around his availability because he’s THAT good. Not only is he a phenomenal photographer, he has the best personality as well! He made us feel comfortable and made the process so fun. Although he’s a busy guy, he made us feel as though our wedding was one of the only weddings he was shooting this year. We cannot say enough about how wonderful Mike is to work with. We were lucky enough to have him do an engagement shoot for us a year ago, as well as our wedding two weeks ago. Mike was fantastic to work with from the first time we reached out. I couldn’t believe how quickly he would respond to questions big and small. From our first phone call with Mike, his enthusiasm and love for photography is palpable, as well as how much he cares about giving his couples the best experience and beautiful photos to cherish forever. My husband and I are super uncomfortable in front of cameras, but Mike eases that discomfort. For our engagement photos, he met us up in the White Mountains and hauled his equipment through the woods to take our photos at a waterfall in the forest. This first experience of working with Mike was wonderful and we knew we’d be in great hands for our wedding day. Our photos came out amazing, and we were able to get beautiful fall foliage shots that would contrast nicely with our summer wedding photos. Leading up to our wedding, Mike was in constant communication, which was very reassuring. He developed a day-of schedule for photos, and we had a phone call the week before to go over details and our “must-have” photos for the wedding. On the day-of, Mike and his second photographer, Ed Moran, worked seamlessly together to be present with myself and my bridesmaids, as well as with my husband and his groomsmen. Mike and Ed were easy to work with, kind, kept us all laughing, and adapted on the fly to changes. Mike also worked so well with all of our other vendors, many of whom he had worked with in the past. We had our full gallery back within three weeks, which was amazing and so much faster than we could have hoped for! We are so happy with the photos we have that we can look back on as we remember our most magical day. Please book Mike for your wedding photography!!

All I have to say is, you NEED Mike as your wedding photographer! He is absolutely spectacular. I received back all the photos from our wedding and they are just stunning. He was amazing at both our engagement shoot and wedding day. He is such good energy and makes taking pictures easy and relaxed. Also my favorite thing about him is how easy he was to work with and he followed through with any and all of my requests! Definitely would recommend 10/10!

Hiring Mike was one of the best decisions that we made!Mike was absolutely amazing from the moment that I had my first phone call was him. Answered all questions that we had (and there was a lot). Mike did our engagement shoot as well as our wedding. Our engagement shoot was so amazing, we did it in downtown Salem. The excitement from Mike was so amazing, he had not shot there before so you could see the inspiration pouring out of him! For the wedding Mike and Miranda got awesome shots of the boys getting ready! And we are so in love with how all of our wedding photos came out! He was always on time (by that I mean he always there about 15 minutes ahead of time! Which was greatly appreciated!) Mike and Miranda were both so professional! We loved that he was always game for whatever ideas we came up with for pics and he always had an idea for us if we couldn’t think of one! Our wedding party also loved him! They thought that he was an amazing photographer but also has an such a great sense of humor. He knew how to take the stress out of the picture process, everything was so easy and together it made it such a smooth process for my husband and I. If we need a photographer for anything else we don’t have to look because we know who we will be calling! I know i said amazing a lot in this but there is really no other way to describe the experience that he created and just him as a person!

Where do I even begin!? We were sold even before our first consult call. Mike's work is stunning. And his passion for photography was obvious once we spoke with him. He took so much time talking with us, getting to know us, and explaining what to expect. We could not be happier with our engagement and wedding photographs! They are stunning! Mike can be described as producing classic / clean photos that have a sophisticated touch to them. He is punctual, organized, down to earth / funny, makes you feel comfortable, and is so quick with giving you sneak peeks or even entire albums. My husband and I requested a second photographer for the wedding day in order to capture moments of both of us getting ready with our respective bridal parties and to ensure that moments during the ceremony were not missed. Not only did we all love working with him but so did my ENTIRE wedding. Everything that I expressed I wanted in our wedding photos was captured and more. Prior to our wedding we met with several different photographers to get a feel for them and see what they could offer. After ending our first call with Mike we knew that he was the photographer we wanted to go with. He communicated his process to us very clearly and identified a good timeline for us to follow on our day, which included specific photos we wanted. This was very helpful to us as it helped us coordinate photographs with our wedding party and family prior to the ceremony. In the months, weeks, days leading up to the wedding Mike stayed in contact with us to make sure we had everything we needed so that our day was as flawless as possible. If we had any questions about anything, Mike was always very responsive, we never had to wait long for an answer! On the wedding day Mike and his second photographer showed up and we instantly knew we made the best decision. He brought a tremendous amount of energy and had everyone in the room laughing and smiling. He captured all of the photos that we wanted, and he did so in a way that did not make it seem like a burden. Mike’s creativity is outstanding, he was able to capture several shots that we were blown away by (and we still get comments on the photos to this day). After the wedding, Mike got us our photos very quickly (we even had a few samples the same night!). Mike truly is an outstanding photographer and an even better person, we could not be happier with our decision to have Mike be a part of our wedding day. Mike was our photographer for out wedding this October and also did our engagement photos back in Oct of 2020. All I can say is that I can't imagine choosing anyone else to help us capture our most special moments. Mike is absolutely INCREDIBLE!! Not only is his work is beautiful but he also has the perfect balance of a easy-going, funny, and professional personality. He is punctual and conscientious, and more importantly, he made myself, my husband, and our entire wedding party, look and feel their best. We had an amazing experience with Mike, and the pictures are to die for!!! He was attentive, responsive, and creative from the start. On the day of he showed up early and got beautiful pre-wedding photos that we had not even planned on. He was super kind and patient with a lot of moving pieces (two venue changes the DAY OF due to weather) and made the day very special for us. Plus, we LOVE our photos!! They were a great mix of landscape and setting, flowers and little details, and lots of creative and also traditional angles of the ceremony and location shots afterward. It was a rainy day and he knew exactly how to work with lighting to make the shots absolutely gorgeous! Five stars!!!

Mike was awesome to work with! He puts everyone around him at ease and was very attentive and professional during all of our pre-wedding phone calls. He was wonderful at capturing the spirit and vibe of our day - we couldn't be happier with how our pictures came out...It is going to be very difficult to pick which are our favorites as they're all amazing! Mike was an absolute delight to work with! He was responsive and thorough leading up to the wedding, totally on top of things the day of and, most importantly, his photos were incredible. He did multiple rounds of edits for me without complaint and was just really on top of his game overall. We paid to have a second photographer with him, Melissa, who was also very talented and able to capture some amazing shots. While the second photographer isn't always necessary, our wedding was on a mountain top and our reception at a separate location so it was good for them to split up when needed. It was also cool to see different angles and perspectives on similar shots. My only regret was not hiring Mike to stay longer into the reception to capture our "silent dance party!" but that's what iphones are for I guess! I'd recommend leaving the option open to add extra time at the end of your night if you have the budget to do so. Overall, working with Mike was an amazing experience and I'd recommend him to anyone and everyone! If he's willing, he will certainly be our go-to person for family photos in the future!

Mike was wonderful to work with from start to end. He is professional, easy-going, and incredibly talented. The posed and candid photographs came out beautiful; it's hard to believe he photographed as inconspicuously as he did! He worked seamlessly in tandem with my videographer as well. I notoriously have that "one family member" who, unsurprisingly, began to step into Mike's space with her point-and-click during the family photography session. I was beyond impressed with how lighthearted but professionally Mike handled the situation without making anyone feel uncomfortable. It was a brief moment, but one that showcased Mike's innate ability to problem-solve and still be personable to everyone around him. On a more personal note: I was very anxious during my wedding prep, and he provided an incredible source of comfort and reassurance. I feel incredibly blessed to have had someone so empathetic and passionate about his art be a part of my and my husband's big day. Thank you, Mike, for all your kindness and hard work!

I looked at many photographers before reaching out to Mike for his style of photographs and - to be honest - love of literature. My first impression was that he was thorough, candid, and communicative. We did both an engagement shoot and our wedding with him, so I can say with absolute certainty that Mike is a truly excellent photographer. I've almost never done professional photographs, and the ones I have were always awkward with posing... Not with Mike! He knows how to pose and direct you into natural shots. Mike also takes risks with his photos which results in stunning photos that you'll cherish forever. For the day of the wedding, he was punctual and organized. He took control of the shots and did exactly as we asked. He was almost invisible, too - he was never in the way of anything and blended in so well with the events. We got photos of every single thing we wanted, from important moments to guest shots, as well as unique photos during the reception itself. I had some sneak peeks quickly after the wedding and the whole package of photos were delivered soon after! Each one is a treasure and I wish I could print out and hang every single one. I couldn't recommend Mike more! Thanks again for so many beautiful photos.

Words cannot express how thankful we are that we elected to go with Mike Sears for our wedding photographer! After seeing his work following his capture of my cousin's wedding, we knew that we would not only be getting a highly skilled professional to take care of us on our wedding day, but also someone who truly cares about his clients. His warm, down-to-earth attitude makes everyone feel comfortable, included, and frankly improves the entire vibe of the wedding (we had so many guests come up to us and ask about our amazing photographer friend!). And Mike manages to capture every detail while being efficient, so you get to enjoy your day (this skill cannot be overstated!). We absolutely adore our photos - they truly capture that rare moment of shared love that defines your wedding day. And I honestly believe the final product wouldn't be possibly without a photographer like Mike, who combines skill with kindness, and artistry with joy. I could go on all day, but I'll close with a quick story that truly illustrates the kind of person you'll get if you work with Mike. A few months before our wedding, I let Mike know that we had a large (100 lb) shepherd who we wanted in our photos but who is nervous with strangers. Mike didn't hesitate; he drove down to Massachusetts and met us for a little hike so my dog could meet him (and bark at him) before our wedding day. The man tramped through the woods with awful mosquitoes for an hour and was nothing but pleasant the whole time. All so that we could get the perfect photo we wanted on our day. Mike, thank you really doesn't cover how we feel about you. I'll say it again: Book him immediately if you can ☺️.

I spent a lengthy amount of time looking for a photographer that I felt would capture all the special moments of our wedding. I did my research, checked out instagram, facebook reviews etc and then I came across Mike’s photography. I was blown away by his work and reached out immediately to him. He was so responsive and easy to communicate with, which made the process much easier! We quickly booked Mike for our wedding and had an engagement session with him that was included in the package we chose. One of my favorite things about Mike is his ability to make people feel comfortable! He was personable, made us laugh, and we walked away both saying how much fun we had! The pictures came out stunning too! Last week we had our wedding and our entire bridal party was late due to traffic. Mike went around taking detail pictures of the venue and then when we arrived he quickly got to work capturing all the group shots. I felt so bad that we were running behind but Mike adapted and got in all the shots we could’ve wanted. In the following days after the wedding I had multiple people reach out to me commenting on how great our photos came out and asking who our photographer was because they wanted to use him for their wedding! Mike truly is a wonderful person and photographer. I would give him my highest recommendation any day!!

I have probably re-written this review over ten times. Each time I write the review, I tell myself that it just doesn't do him enough justice. I could really go on forever happily singing his highest praises. So, I guess I will sum it up by saying the following... With so many photographers out there to choose from, it really can feel like an overwhelming and impossible task to select the "right" photographer. I looked into probably a hundred photographers on The Knot... Googled, looked at their pictures, looked at their bios... I mean really did my research. What stood out to me and sets Mike apart from other photographers in the business, were his genuine, relaxed, and natural photographs. As a wedding photographer, Mike ensures he gets your bridal parties and families and other "staged" photos, but he does so in a way that makes them feel natural and not "posed". He grabs beautiful candids and a full spectrum of the emotions of the day. It can be uncomfortable having your picture taken, especially when you are not used to it. My husband detests having his photo taken... and I was so nervous that he would be complaining the entire day about the pictures. However, this was not the case at all. In fact, my husband STILL raves about Mike and the photos a month after our wedding day. Mike shoots in a way that makes the subjects feel relaxed; he is insanely funny and we were constantly entertained. From the second that Mike walked in (which, by the way, was like over an hour early to just check the place out and get to know us and check everything out), I literally had a calm come over me. It can be difficult and awkward working closely with someone you don't know, but Mike immediately makes you feeling comfortable and like he is an old friend. At that moment in time, my beauty girls were late starting my hair and I knew that we were behind schedule, but as soon as Mike walked into the room, I knew that everything was going to be fine. He told me he was there and would handle everything -- and he did. He did not ever make us feel rushed, but also helped with time management as the day can really get ahead of you... especially when we were needing shots at three different locations. He is truly a professional and knows exactly what he is doing every step of the way: from getting to know you and your fiance before the big day, to getting to the site early to plan out shot locations and where the best lighting will be at what times, to working right along side you to make sure your day is captured just like you want, to grabbing last minute family pictures you hadn't originally put into your planned shot list. At the end of his time with us, Mike was not in a rush to leave as he made sure we had everything we wanted from him. His extra shooter was amazing and was, without a doubt, a professional as well. The two of them worked so well together as a team. Again, I could go on forever about Mike. Our guests at our wedding were raving about Mike on the wedding day and continue to do so weeks after the fact. My husband and I could not be happier with the pictures Mike sent so quickly after our big day -- I am obsessed and still keep in touch with Mike as he answers my printing Q's. Mike encompasses all of the best qualities that a professional photographer should have: he is flexible, incredibly organized, ingenious and creative, laid back, amiable, and INSANELY talented. I truly give Mike my highest review -- he is the best of the best.

We have taken a while to write this review partly because there are so many amazing things we want to say about Mike we were almost not sure where or how to start. Simply said- Mike was amazing. His photos were creative and fun with a keen sense of light and color, while capturing emotion. We were honestly awed when we looked at the photos. The entire event was captured even better than we imagined. There were so many beautiful individual and family candids of our guests that we will all treasure forever. But that wasn't all! He is a genuine, helpful, kind and patient person. He immediately made everyone around him at ease. He showed up early just to take a look at the location, talk to us and our families. He helped the groomsmen with their suits and ties. He was ever patient with young children photobombing the formal photos. He encouraged other people to take photos even while he was taking formal reception photos. He was very timely in sharing the photo gallery with us after the wedding. He even kindly shared a specific photo directly with a guest who wanted a special photo of their child. He was able to capture the highest quality photos that really reflected the uniqueness of our wedding with such professionalism and experience that it seemed effortless. We can guarantee you that you will be making the best decision to have Mike Sears photograph your special occasion!

We are so thankful that we hired Mike to be our wedding photographer. He was extremely flexible and understanding with us when we had to reschedule our wedding due to COVID. I was also impressed with the amount of time he gave us prior to our wedding, having phone conversations and meeting with us in person so that he knew exactly what we were looking for from him. On the day of, I couldn't have asked for a better person to be joining our family and friends. Mike's kind and outgoing personality made everyone feel comfortable and relaxed as he took our photographs. We genuinely had fun with him and the result was beautiful and real photographs that truly showed how much we enjoyed our wedding day. Mike Sears was hands down an essential part of our wedding! Couldn't imagine this day with any other photographer. He brought so much good energy, was a blast to work with and his photos are everything we hoped for. Throughout, Mike put us at ease and was attentive to all elements of the process, from lighting and setting, to angles and beyond. He never rushed, and you could tell from his excitement, care, and creativity that he was enjoying the shoot just as much as us... which again, made us feel comfortable in front the camera. Our favorite shots by far were the candid ones, where Mike captured little special moments shared between us a couple. If you're looking for an engagement photographer, look no further. Mike is worth every penny and more, and we would recommend him to anyone looking to have memories captured for a lifetime. These are heirloom, capsule images we'll cherish forever.

When my husband and I were deciding how to adjust our "big day" after the pandemic hit and opted to completely forego the wedding, Mike worked with us to make the date special and captured the most beautiful photos I could have dreamt of. It was a frigid January day outside in the mountains and Mike worked diligently to get incredible shots with ample breaks to warm up!! Thanks so much, Mike!!!

Mike did an absolutely amazing job photographing our wedding this year. Of course, we had to make changes to our plans and our celebration was much smaller than originally planned, but Mike did such a fantastic job capturing the magic that occurred that day when our closest friends and family were able to be by our side on our special day. I seriously can't stop scrolling through all our photos! We really look forward to having him back for our larger ceremony next year!
