Working with Mikkel over the last year has been such a pleasure. She is kind, attentive, organized, responsive, professional, resourceful, and very skilled. We used Mikkel for our engagement shoot as well as for our wedding. Prior to both our engagement shoot and our wedding, she made a detailed plan, outlining the locations we would go to. This made both occasions smooth and seamless. Mikkel made my life easier leading up to my wedding, too, as she reached out to my other vendors to ensure they were all on the same page and everyone knew the logistics. Mikkel is also very level headed, which is so important for a wedding photographer. Her presence is very calming and she made sure I was relaxed and happy the entire day of my wedding, even when we fell behind schedule due to a transportation hiccup. Chances are, something is not going to go as planned on your wedding day. I'm so grateful that Mikkel was there to remedy the situation. She really is the best and I would hire her again!

Mikkel was truly amazing! She was very professional, responsive and an overall great person to work with. We had to postpone our wedding due to COVID and she was very accommodating and sympathetic as it was a very stressful time. Her artistic vision definitely showed through her work - the pictures and album came out amazing and we were more than pleased with it. Mikkel is the best decision we made while planning our wedding photography. She was super responsive, flexible, funny and incredibly easy to work with. I have spent the last hour writing reviews for all the lovely vendors at my wedding and frankly I was not prepared to write this particular one. I simply do not have the poetry of language to describe how amazing Mikkel was. She was a DYNAMO. Prior to the wedding, she worked with us to create the best version of our website, even offering to help us resize photographs my father had taken to put up. Every conversation we had leading up to the wedding was thorough, she even considered the comfort levels of our wedding party during the event prior to so there were no awkward conversations the day of. That day she came in like a gale force wind, sweeping through to ensure she captured each moment with grace and care. She made everyone she took photos of feel like they were their best selves, calling each person by their name without ever having met them. Everyone glowed when she finished talking with them. While I could gush over how amazing she was that day, it will never live up to sitting in our living room one week after the wedding when we received an email from Mikkel with our FULL gallery of photos neatly organized. We quickly picked our jaws up off the floor and spent hours reliving our wedding day for our ONE WEEK anniversary. Nothing can compare the positive memories she has given us throughout the experience and the EXTREME customer service she provides during your entire journey.

My husband and I hired Mikkel for our destination wedding in the Dominican Republic. To say that working with her was one of the best decisions we made is an understatement. It wasn't just the pictures that left us speechless, which is obviously reflected in all of her work, it was the entire process from beginning until months after our wedding day. She really proved how professional, caring, prepared, and hardworking she is. We always think about how blown away our family was with her. The day after the wedding, everyone asked us about her methods. "How did she remember everyone's name?" "How did she know who was related to who?" "How did she move so quickly?" We laughed as we explained how Mikkel met with us several times to understand our family and relationships so she could integrate herself into the wedding seamlessly. Her prep work was visible to everyone! Mikkel arrived a day before our actual wedding and took the most beautiful photographs of our resort which we did not expect at all. Our location was a massive property and was admittedly difficult to navigate because it was so large. Within a few hours, Mikkel knew where to go for EVERYTHING. We didn't even know where we'd do our First Look or where we would take group pictures but somehow Mikkel figured it all out. When you're in the middle of greeting guests and coordinating your bridesmaids, the timeline and location of things just slip out of your mind. We are forever grateful for this because we honestly did not think any of that through! Quite honestly, we were never nervous in hiring Mikkel. We knew from past experiences and from referrals from good friends that she was the person we wanted on our team. We trusted her from the start and it's something I would tell all couples when hiring her. Just trust her. She will respect your vision and go above and beyond to exceed your expectations. She did that for us and we will always be grateful!

Mikkel is truly one of a kind! She captured all my favorite moments during our wedding and was amazing to work with from the very beginning. This amazing lady puts so much effort in making your day go smoothly that you don’t even notice when she is taking photos (unless it’s one of your requested staged ones)! I was recommended to Mikkel by a friend and after talking with her via text and email, I immediately fell in love! Sadly, she was not available for my big wedding and I was distraught. I had a crazy idea though and wanted to shoot a fast engagement shoot at a specific location. Mikkel not only quickly responded to my inquiry but also respected the time on my mini-shoot and teeny budget. She put my fiancé and I so at ease, that after 10 minutes, my normally super shy, introverted and PDA-hating fiancé was flipping me around, dancing and dipping me, kissing me for the best photos possible. She gave us some direction and encouraged us to do our thing and there was no awkwardness at all! We had literally just met her! She is personable, fun, easy-going, organized, professional, and sets your mind and anxieties at ease on your big day! My big wedding had to be rescheduled due to COVID-19 and we threw together a small wedding at our family farm within a week. I texted Mikkel a week before our quickly planned wedding and she was all in! She even created an amazingly organized timeline for my small ceremony with lists of family pictures that needed to be taken. Because my budget was tight, she kept us on an organized schedule and made sure we captured every picture we wanted while respecting my timeline and budget. This women is amazingly talented and captures the most precious details, (even little ones that she wants to know about!) in a quick snap, saving them for you for eternity! My wedding guests even recognized her talent on the big day due to her organized, yet laid-back demeanor. Mikkel also memorizes your family and wedding party's names!!!! How about that for service??? Instead of herding cats, she was calling on people (to their face!), and pictures moved so quickly! I didn't even have to yell at any family members! Everyone loved her presence and are now enjoying her work as she makes your pictures internet accessible to your family members. No more emailing aunt Bessie screenshots, just send her the photo link! The photos are the best part, as every image is so special and so amazing, it's difficult to decide which ones to frame!! You will not be disappointed with Mikkel as your photographer!

Our wedding planner, Sweet Sarabelle, recommended Mikkel to us and we enjoyed working with her so much! She took the time to really get to know us and remembered so many details we'd shared. Her photography style was exactly what we were looking for, crisp and detailed with vibrant colors! We loved her attention to detail not only in her photos but in getting to know us. We couldn’t recommend Mikkel more... hire her!! From my initial inquiry, to planning, to the actual day and getting our wedding albums, our experience with Mikkel was absolutely incredible. Not only is Mikkel an incredibly talented photographer, but working with her (contract, communication, coordinating with other vendors, etc.) Couldn’t have been better. She genuinely cares about her clients and getting to know them (and our families, she knows everyone’s names and remembers every little detail!). Leading up to the wedding Mikkel was incredibly detail oriented and organized - making sure the timeline was right, having us fill out questionnaires to make sure everything went smoothly day of. That really put my husband and I at ease, especially in the last couple months of wedding planning when things get crazy. Her level of professionalism is unparalleled. We absolutely love our photos, as do our families. If I could go back and redo our wedding all over again, I 1000% hire Mikkel in a heartbeat.

Let’s start off by saying that we could not recommend Mikkel highly enough. From the very first informational email she sent us to delivering our wedding album, working with Mikkel was one of the best parts of wedding planning. Communication and organization. After falling in love with all of the details on Mikkel’s website and reaching out. Mikkel went above and beyond by recording a personalized video to introduce herself to us, which she sent along with all of the photography program details. Her level of communication and organization was consistent throughout the planning process, with regular check ins and timeline drafts up until the day itself. We also filled out a super detailed questionnaire that allowed Mikkel to keep track of all of the specific photos that we wanted and helped create a timeline for the entire day. Professionalism. While being utterly professional and driven, Mikkel is also so fun to work with. She scoped out optimal locations for our engagement shoot and the wedding itself, which meant maximum efficiency. She’s also done this a million times, so we were able to relax, confident that she would capture each moment perfectly. Neither of us are selfie people or take tons of photos of ourselves, but Mikkel made it fun and kept us laughing! Also on the wedding day itself, Mikkel was able to wrangle our unruly family for the group shots that we wanted, which was no easy feat. (Another bride mentioned this in an older review and she wasn’t kidding.) Style. Lastly and certainly not least, Mikkel has the exact style that we wanted. Some photographers’ work washes out colors or makes the photographs too dark, but Mikkel’s bright and colorful style is perfect for us. We have several prints from our engagement shoot and wedding framed in our apartment, adding beautiful pops of color and amazing memories. She captured our wedding day so beautifully and designed a wedding album for us that required barely any changes from us. One of the things that we love most about Mikkel is that she made the effort to get to know us personally, which is now reflected in our amazing photography. All in all, choosing to work with Mikkel for our wedding was one of the best decisions that we made. Thank you for everything, Mikkel!

My wife and I had our wedding about 6 months ago, but it still feels like last week because of how smoothly everything ran! We attribute a great deal of that to Mikkel. In addition to being an excellent photographer, Mikkel is a seasoned expert in all things wedding-related. With her meticulous planning, warm demeanor, and cool head under pressure, she helped keep things running smoothly and on time (even facilitating the work of our other vendors!). Mikkel is an immensely talented photographer and also one of the nicest people on the planet. As a wedding planner, I've worked with Mikkel on multiple weddings and other projects. She is a whiz at making couples comfortable in front of the camera--always bringing out the best in them. She's warm, friendly, and has a wonderful sense of humor. I discovered Mikkel while looking at blog posts of other weddings that had taken place at our venue. Browsing her galleries, I instantly fell in love with her style - fresh, natural, clean, bright, fun, active photos. No cheesy Pinterest poses, excessive use of sepia tone, etc. Throughout the process I was impressed by her organization skills, professionalism, prompt replies to messages, upbeat personality and can-do attitude. If we had a wedding related question, she went above and beyond to help us - even for things that weren't 100% photo related! Most importantly, we loved the end result - our gallery was gorgeous and was delivered to us super quickly after the wedding. In the end we have a collection of beautiful images to remember our special day and we made a new friend! Would highly recommend.

After getting engaged there was no doubt I would hire Mikkel after the way my now sister-in-law raved about her wedding experience with her. To be honest, Mikkel's work speaks for itself. Every single photograph is beautiful and it is an impossible task to choose which photos to display. Working with Mikkel was absolutely seamless. She is extremely responsive, getting back to emails with all my silly questions within less than 24 hours (usually much less). Also, her professionalism in the way she runs her business made her stand out in comparison to my other vendors. I was able to pay everything online, with detailed invoices, sign contracts etc. When we received the final photographs, they were categorized and organized. Plus you can order prints right from the site! I cannot imagine how my wedding day would have played out without her. She made sure we were on schedule, and that everything ran perfectly smooth. She went out of her way to make sure we captured all the family photos and as well as special impromptu moments throughout the day. Even more importantly she was so sweet to our family and so accommodating of our elderly Grandparents needs. She truly made our day, and we will always cherish the absolutely beautiful pictures! Mikkel is the best photographer ever! We couldn't imagine having chosen anyone else to capture our Disney Cruise Line wedding. From the moment we reached out, she was extremely prompt in getting back to us, so friendly and very personal. Before we even hired her she had a video call with us to talk about our options, get to know each other and see if we would be a good fit. Leading up to the cruise, she put together a detailed photography timeline and went over every detail with us on another video call. We felt so confident knowing that everything was planned out! On the cruise she went above and beyond her role as a photographer, helping with details like pinning on the boutonnieres and making sure that everything went smoothly. We really felt like she was in our corner and she made sure we got every photo we wanted! Mikkel was a pleasure to work with from the time we met her. We loved the light and color in those pictures, so when we got engaged we reached out to Mikkel right away. We were so happy working with her. She really listened, taking the time to get to know us and what we envisioned for the day. She went out of her way to scout out locations for photos that were just beautiful. I met Mikkel when I was a bridesmaid in a friend's wedding and absolutely loved her spirit. When it came time for me to be the bride, I couldn't imagine having anyone else capture our special day. She provided recommendations for vendors, reminded me of what to pack for the wedding, and even got to know my family and friends by name. She became a friend through the process and I am happy to recommend her for any future bride looking for a top-notch, talented, professional, and fun photographer. We just received our wedding album and cannot be happier. Mikkel did such an amazing job from start to finish and was so helpful with the entire process. From the very beginning, she listened to us, helped us to make the right decisions and was so professional all the way through. The days leading up to the wedding were hectic and decisions had to be made about where to take First Look photos made challenging because of the weather (wedding was in January in Central Park). Mikkel was a champ and came up with some great solutions for us. But her involvement did not end there. Working with Mikkel was a dream. She is funny, caring, professional, and organized. She makes you feel as if you have been friends for years. We spoke about our visions for the wedding through both e-mail and facetime. Every time we spoke I loved her more and more. Her attention to detail made for the most gorgeous venue pictures. She captured so many details that we didn’t get to see the day of. From our first look to the crazy dancing, I can still feel all of the emotions when I look at the pictures. They captured every feeling we had that day and it makes us love them that much more! Everyone from our bridal party, family and guests loved her. Her ability to make you feel comfortable while getting your picture taken is uncanny! She was even able to capture pictures of our fur babies in the most adorable way. For our wedding we had to come up with two plans, a rain plan and a sun plan. Mikkel provided timelines for both, and helped us choose a picture location for the rain plan. The week of the wedding Mikkel facetimed us to discuss both plans and various picture options. We ended up with our rain plan option but Mikkel’s pictures did not disappoint. Even with the rain, Mikkel was able to capture the most beautiful pictures filled with soft light and amazing color! We truly loved working with Mikkel! Kevin even mentioned that he wants to take more pictures now! We wish we could do it all over just to work with her again. She was one of the best parts of that day! We would highly recommended hiring Mikkel! We are so grateful for all she has done :)

The day of the wedding, she came early to make sure everything/everyone was ready to go. Mikkel is my favorite vendor we used for this wedding- I can't recommend her enough!

We're so excited to tell you about our perfect experience with our wedding photographer, Mikkel. Mikkel is everything you want in a photographer and everything you didn't know you wanted in a photographer! Things we knew we wanted: someone who was familiar with traveling. Mikkel's portfolio of destination weddings and travel blog was proof that we would be in the hands of someone who was familiar with the climate and had an eye to catch every unique backsplash. We knew that we wanted someone who could give us guidance (so that we weren't always staring directly at the camera, for example). We knew that we wanted to look natural; Mikkel taking the time to get to know the kind of couple we are gave our photos the direction we wanted. From day one, she was interested in who we were as a couple. We set up Facetime meetings to meet "in person" prior to us finalizing our arrangement because Mikkel wanted us to be sure that she was the right fit for our special day. What we didn't know we wanted: Unless you've planned a wedding before, you were probably unaware of the strategic plan that you need to walk into that special day and include everything you wanted to capture before the sun goes down! Our ceremony started at 5:00 PM and the sun set just before 6:30 PM. With such a small window to take photos of the entire family and wedding party, we were contemplating doing a first look (which neither of us wanted to do). Little did we know, Mikkel had already laid out a detailed schedule for the day that we were able to stick with perfectly and incorporate photos before the ceremony and leave plenty of time after to capture the bride/groom and family photos. Every aspect of the day was thoroughly thought out by Mikkel- I mean everything! She scoped out areas of the resort to photograph the groomsmen and ran back over to take pictures of the bride and bridesmaids. Not to mention, it poured rain until about an hour before the ceremony and the breathtaking photos she took are memories that we will have for a lifetime. The first time I saw Mikkel's work was also the moment I knew I needed to meet her. My college friend has just received her photos back perfectly edited and I was blown away by how soft and natural everyone looked! She was an absolute delight to work with- never stressed, never rushing, always smiling and full of wonderful ideas. We were certainly a couple that needed direction and she willingly offered up suggestions when we asked for advice. But by the time the big day came, we didn't have to ask because she had taken such an investment in learning our likes and dislikes and our style. I look at our photos every day and I am so honored that we had the privilege of working with Mikkel. By the way, the photo lab that she recommends is definitely worth it! Mikkel has captured some of the happiest moments of our lives including our proposal and our wedding day! We chose Mikkel because she is a very talented photographer who has the ability to capture details and moments in a very clear, artistic way. We love how well she shoots color with such a timeless look. On the actual wedding day she was with us from the beginning to the end. She was very professional, guiding us to the best locations at the venue to snap photos. Mikkel was fantastic! She made our wedding day a very easy, streamlined experience, and gave us gorgeous memories of it for years to come. Choosing Mikkel was a no-brainer: her light, emotional photo style was exactly what we were looking for our intimate, end-of-summer garden party wedding. She had everyone on the same page in no time, no matter what language they spoke. Mikkel was also very relaxed and non-judgemental about many less traditional aspects of our wedding. Finally, our pictures came in maybe just a couple of weeks, and they were magical! Mikkel truly captured the spirit of the celebration, and looking at the shots we find ourselves back in that lovely August day of our wedding. The candid shots are beautiful and festive, and even the formals are lovely and natural. Mikkel also made a beautiful blog post about our wedding, which came handy for quick sharing with friends and family. We were truly delighted with Mikkel’s work and hope to continue working with her for other formal occasions in the future.

It was a sheer pleasure meeting and working with Mikkel Paige. We were blessed enough to find Mikkel on short notice for our wedding. Mikkel was amazing. She went above and beyond what we had expected from a photographer. I have a degree in photography and have shot my fair share of weddings and I know how hard it is to keep everything straight. She was great from the moment she walked into the bridal sweet to the end of the evening. She immediately brought a sense of calm and directness to the day. I don't think the wedding would have been as great without her. She has a perfect mix of humor and attention to detail and listened to everything that was asked of her. Before the wedding she came to the bridal sweet and immediately brightened the room with her presence. She came in and made jokes and somehow put everyone at ease. We got some great photos from that morning. She listened to an idea I had about going down to the bar in the hotel we were at and shooting my family having a drink before we left for the ceremony. It was fun and the pictures turned out great! After the ceremony we went out to take pictures of just me and my husband and she started singing a song from Troop Beverly Hills to get me to laugh. She remembered that I loved that movie from the first time we had spoken. Mikkel even had our prints ready to view and download by the time we got back from our honeymoon. Even sending a "teaser" a few days after the wedding for us to look at while we were away. Again, not something most photographers do. The pictures were brilliant and capture the feel of the wedding perfectly. The color and lighting are spot on along with a good mix of set up family photo's and the candid pictures that are sometimes more fun to look at. Love seeing the guests having a blast during the reception. The whole time she was shooting us, my husband, who hadn't really met her until the day of the wedding, kept whispering to me "she's great". I absolutely loved working with her. She made the day so much better just being there and I would recommend her to anyone. You will not be disappointed.

Best decision ever was hiring Mikkel! Mikkel and her team were absolutely fantastic throughout our entire wedding experience! She made us feel incredibly at ease during our engagement shoot. When John & I got engaged there was absolutely no question on who we were going to hire to shoot our wedding! Mikkel is simply the best. I was a wedding planner turned bride so I am extremely detail oriented and wanted a photographer that I knew would think the same way - it's all about the details! Not only that, but she really, genuinely cares about you as a couple. We've worked together many times but when it was my day I assumed it'd be different - I was treating my own wedding like nothing since I had so many other brides to worry about. But Mikkel made me feel like I wasn't the wedding planner and kept reminding me that this was my wedding day and that I was a bride, and to enjoy it. She is a very positive and calming force that is certainly necessary while planning such an emotional day. She also seamlessly put together a time line and game plan and coordinated with what I'd already planned for my team to take over that day taking a lot of my stress away. One other thing that I really love about Mikkel is that she is no nonsense and gets the job done - she is stern while still remaining calm and in control of all situations. I filmed for SYTTD for my wedding day and can only imagine the stress of them all being in each other's way for the perfect shot but Mikkel facilitated things quickly and productively to ensure that she also got all of the shots that she knew I wanted. Not only do Mikkel's photographs speak for themselves, but I was introduced to her through a friend who hired her for her own wedding. The friend who recommended her was introduced to Mikkel because her sister used her for her wedding...and her sister found her through a friend who used Mikkel for her wedding too! We had a beautiful Hudson Valley wedding last October, and thanks to Mikkel's wonderful photography our sparkling memories of the day won't fade. Working with Mikkel was a joy thanks to her friendliness, warmth, humor, whimsy, and of course her professionalism, sense of style and skill behind the lens. We had met with a number of photographers, but nobody really clicked until - thanks to Jove Meyer, our wedding planner - we found Mikkel. I suggested an initial call since she was travelling, and she insisted we use Facetime to better connect (and did we ever!). When we met for the engagement shoot, she helpfully pointed out that she'd be the one with the pink hair and camera! We weren't terribly experienced in front of the camera and didn't really know what to expect, but Mikkel put us at ease as we wandered around the Battery Park waterfront. We were a bit nervous about affection in front of crowds, but she was understanding, patient and encouraging, and by the end of the shoot she was framing amazingly tender shots. Mikkel has a keen eye for location and perspective, and she did an amazing job of capturing us among a wide variety of Battery Park backdrops. When we saw the shots we knew we were in great hands for the wedding. Mikkel was extremely organized and professional in planning and executing the wedding, and her attention to detail was phenomenal. We met with her and our wedding planner Jove a few weeks in advance to discuss the day's events, the grooms and family shoots and other details. She also sent us a detailed checklist of things we should consider (most of which we hadn't), and she and her assistant coordinated closely with Jove both before and at the wedding. We explained early on that we preferred candid shots wherever possible and with her style and approach she accommodated that perfectly. At our request, she also encouraged our guests to avoid amateur cell phone photography, particularly during the ceremony. Despite wedding day nerves, the dressing and grooms shots were relaxed and fun, a great way to start the day. Mikkel also did a wonderful job working with our families for the family shoot, organizing various groupings based on our earlier conversations and managing certain relationship (and divorces) with a deft, diplomatic touch. And she coordinated a wonderful group shot of all 90-something of our guests immediately after the ceremony. During the reception Mikkel and her assistant were always there at the right moments, but they didn't distract at all from the merriment. And our guests loved her! We were delighted when Mikkel emailed us a link to our proofs just a week following the wedding. And the photographs are stunning, capturing our relationship, our friends and family and the whole day perfectly. We circulated them to our guests and got nothing but praise for Mikkel and her work. When Greg and I got engaged, we knew that we wanted to incorporate the different aspects of our lives into our engagement photos. Greg is a PhD student who's been living in New York City for the past 3 years and I am a veterinary student from California but currently living in Raleigh, NC. Some of our best memories have been in New York, but on the other hand we couldn't have engagement photos without the third member of our family- our little Corgi! It was clear that we needed to have 2 shoots, one in Raleigh and one in New York City. While looking for photographers I found Mikkel Paige. As it turns out, we learned that she's based in both Raleigh and New York City! Soon after we contacted her she sent us a personal recorded video which was such a pleasant surprise- it made us feel like we were already friends. After meeting her in person I knew that she was the right person to capture Greg's and my relationship. She is easy to befriend and is simply a genuine person! Despite the struggles (on our end) of trying to schedule two shoots when all 3 of us were actually in the same city, working with Mikkel has been nothing but a positive, fun experience. We wanted an intimate courthouse ceremony for our special day, but we wanted awesome photos to enjoy for years to come.
