My now-husband and I had a fairly short engagement. She was able to do three rounds of alterations, add a belt to the dress, and even added a final fitting (at no extra cost!) in approximately 2.5 months. She was incredible kind and we enjoyed conversations and laughs together while she completed my fittings. Moreover, each fitting only took about a half an hour in length so it was not a difficult interruption to my schedule on days I had appointments. I had some questions and ideas along the way, which she listened to and didn't make me feel bad about asking. She wanted me to feel beautiful and confident in my dress. I have gotten alterations and fittings before, and my experience at Mila's Golden Thread blows those experiences out of the water! It was definitely affordable as well, which helps calm wedding planning and financing nerves. My dress ended up fitting just right! I had an issue with how the dress was initially sewn, which caused a somewhat exaggerated fold at the front which distorted the view of a large piece of lace, she worked several techniques to try to correct the problem. Her final recommendation of wearing a hoop skirt was the perfect (inexpensive) fix! I would not have thought of that solution on my own. It was a simple thing I could do to make my dress look perfect on our wedding day, and I am so thankful she helped me come up with a way to make my dress beautiful, but a happy after-thought when focusing on the events and beauty of the wedding day itself. I knew my dress looked beautiful so I was not distracted on the big day! :) I was getting married in a different state so at one of the final fittings, she had me bring a coworker along to practice and record how to do the bustle. She had made the bustle not only work seamlessly, but she actually did some work to make the original bustle design more beautiful in the back. It was amazing!
