About this vendor
Mill Creek Equestrian Center is an estate located in Statesboro, GA that can function as a wedding venue. It also serves as a location for boarding horses, a training center, and is near both downtown and Georgia Southern University. Between the forests, idyllic meadows, and strolling horses, the property of 140 acres offers a sophisticated setting for your “I dos”.
Michelle Higdon is the owner of Mill Creek Equestrian Center. She has a great appreciation for horses and started the facility for those that want to learn more about the animal. Gaining new knowledge is something that is important to her. This is reflected in her work on the board of the Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and Spiro Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies at Clemson University. Besides offering a place of learning, Michelle also provides her center for events, giving couples the chance to celebrate among the beauty of nature.
At Mill Creek Equestrian Center you can host both your ceremony and reception. You also have the option of enjoying an entire wedding weekend and may book The Manor to stay in. This accommodation can house 12 individuals, be it your family members or the wedding entourage, and is designed with comfort in mind. In the backyard of the house is a spacious lawn that has waterfront vistas and functions as an area for occasions under the sky. Luncheons, showers, and rehearsal dinners may also be held in The Manor. In addition, you have the option of booking The Stables which is a 12,000-square-foot structure with a contemporary design. For a more countryside locale, The Barn offers a rustic ambience and is likewise available for events. It is constructed from wood and has a classic-barn facade in natural tones that pairs with a variety of wedding themes. With so many spaces that can suit different functions at your wedding, you can organize your special day in a way that is unique to you.

September 12th, 2020 will forever be our favorite day... At our favorite place! Wow, where do we even begin?! Every second of the weekend was a dream and would not have been possible without the wonderful accommodations and folks at Mill Creek Equestrian Center. Y’all truly make the world go round! Being a 2020 bride was far from easy, but Michelle was such an answered prayer. She treats everyone like family! Mill Creek Equestrian crafted a recommended vendor list, which made selecting credited vendors extremely easy. In addition to the most gorgeous 150+/ acre working horse farm, there is a Manor on site which is beautifully decorated in an upscale gypsy western fashion! It was the perfect place for a rehearsal dinner and place for the bridesmaids and family to stay and get ready! In addition to this, there’s is a bunkhouse available too that is also decorated beautifully and is a great place for the guys to get ready and stay! The Sip N Spur 2 horse trailer converted to a bar was the perfect touch for the reception. Michelle’s creativity and passion for young people and the wedding industry is evident by every little detail at Mill Creek Equestrian. Mill Creek Equestrian, thank you for your time and for your talents. ✨
I had my wedding at Mill Creek Equestrian Center on 11/24/18. The grounds are absolutely stunning and accomodating! Michelle is very responsive and helpful when we were scheduling and planning every aspect. There are beauitful barns, horses and the house is absolutely stunning and available to get ready, take pictures and even stay the weekend. This is a perfect setting for a beauitful wedding! I would recommend a 1,000 times over!
First, let me say that this venue was the perfect choice and we would choose it again and again, a thousand times over. I cannot stress how important it is to have a venue owner who loves what she does. From start to finish, owner, Michelle Higdon played an integral role in helping us pull off the wedding of our daughter's dreams! We felt like family and it was very clear that she is passionate about both the venue and the couples getting married there.
One unique feature that we fell in love with was the Manor located at the venue. The wedding party was able to stay on site in the most luxurious home for the entire weekend! What fun it was to have everyone staying and celebrating the big event. It also made it possible for us to be close during set up for any issues that arose. My daughter even had a special treat waiting when she arrived the Friday before from the Venue! That special touch meant so much to us and helped set the tone for the upcoming weekend! I wouldn't hesitate to encourage brides with OTHER venues to look at the Manor as an option for out of town family or pre-wedding celebrations! It really is THAT gorgeous and so comfy!
We chose the peninsula as the wedding sight and held the wedding right at dusk. Floating lanterns in the pond, combined with Michelle's already beautifully lit space made for the perfect Fairy Tale night wedding. I could not have been happier with the outcome and cannot wait to see the final photos and video of that night!
There are so many unique features about this venue. We truly had trouble deciding where and how to coordinate the wedding. There is an amazing old barn on the farm that called to us. The fencing, lighting, the pond, horses grazing in the fields...So many options to use for photo ops and wedding settings! We even had the option to move to the new state of the art covered horse arena should rain grace our day!
A couple of helpful hints should you tour the place:
1. Beg Michelle to show you her new "Sippin' Spur" (a horse trailer converted into the bar of your dreams!) Consider it as an option for your wedding. So cool!
2. Don't be afraid to speak candidly about any unusual requests you might have (we temporarily installed a lantern on the peninsula for our wedding).
3. Don't panic if it looks like rain. We had rain right up until the Thursday before the wedding. Michelle made a point to meet with us early the week before and help plan the back up. (PS. The rain stopped, it drained off nicely and the wedding was amazing)
4. Don't let the dirt road leading to the event deter you. Michelle is amazing about staying in touch with county road maintenance and the road was perfect the night of our wedding.
5. Book Now and Early! Michelle is constantly refining and working to make this the go to wedding venue in our area! Her passion, dedication and obvious love of the place and the people she is serving, coupled with the stunning beauty of the venue itself, it isn't hard to see why her calendar stays booked!
A million thanks to Michelle and her staff at Millcreek. As with most mothers, my dream has always been to give my daughter her "Fairy Tale Wedding". I can honestly say, without reservation, Michelle and Mill Creek Equestrian played the single most important role in helping us bring that to fruition!
How do you even begin to explain one of the best experiences of your life? Ms. Michelle's facility is beyond beautiful and the environment that you walk into is perfect for your memories that is meant for a life time. The venue has perfect surroundings for pictures, comfort, and flexibility. I couldn't have picked a better place. There is a backup plan for "rain" so that is always nice for a bride. The bridesmaid party stayed at the venue the night of the reception and being able to wake up in such a comforting home on the day of your wedding allows a ton of unnecessary stress to be relieved. I would recommend this venue to anyone a million times over. This is by far the place little's girls thought they could only dream to get married at. <3
