We just recently had a wedding here. At first this venue was fantastic as well as the owners. Yes, run down and need of TLC but we originally saw it during off season so we thought...
it would be better by our wedding. Throughout the process the owners kept making up random fees to charge. The kitchen in the barn was disgusting and we needed to clean it before we could use it. Mold in fridge, trays full of dirt and ants everywhere. The bathrooms downstairs “bridal suite” and other had so many cobwebs and broken shower. The lodge was beautiful to the eye but was infested with rodents. All our food was ruined, lots of leftover food from previous clients left, one room smells so heavily of urine, broken shower, toilets that don’t flush well, hot water would not stay for peoples showers. The owners dog did not make people feel comfortable and was slightly aggressive. Also, they charges us $25 for dog feces disposal BUT it was not our dog, it was their dogs feces! During our event no one was around really to help and we had to take it upon ourselves to even bring up the table and chairs in the barn so we could set up. Yes, we have brought everything to their attention but they take zero accountability. This venue has so much potential and can be beautiful but I think it’s past it’s prime at this point. Ultimately, I would NOT recommend this venue for a wedding.
The tour we took of Millstone was nothing like these pictures look at all. We drove three hours round-trip for a very, very outdated barn. There were tacky signs all over the wall ...
and basically looked like this families knickknack storage closet. It was so disappointing. The pictures made it look so beautiful, but it was completely rundown. It might be fine for a work Christmas party but definitely not for a nice wedding like these pictures show. If they do clean it up for events, it’s hard to see the picture when everything’s so cluttered. Why would you show it to people like that?
Millstone Hill is a hidden gem for weddings. It is gorgeous without pretension, which created a lovely genuine atmosphere to celebrate our wedding. We rented the whole property for...
the weekend at a very reasonable price: we had family sleeping in lodging available and friends camping in the small but charming campground. We had the rehearsal dinner up near the lodge, the ceremony outside under the shade of apple trees with mountain views in the background, cocktail hour in the gardens around the barn, dinner and dancing in the celebration barn, and ended everything with a big bonfire.
It's a venue that might not be for everyone, but it was everything we wanted and more. If you want a big, clean, cookie cutter wedding with everything already planned for you, this might not be the venue for you. Millstone Hill has a homemade and hardworking vibe to it. You’ll have to hire all of the vendors yourself, but this means that you have the flexibility to plan a unique wedding.
Frankie and Pierre were consistently helpful, communicative, and flexible during the whole process. It’s clear that they take great pride in taking care of and sharing their childhood home.
I wish everything that happened leading up to our wedding and on our wedding day didn’t ruin this great venue for us. The views are fantastic and great parking, but very outdated i...
n need of TLC. Siding was promised to be done by wedding and wasn’t and ruined some of our outdoor photos. My understanding is it was also promised to previous brides as well and never completed. Venue owners were great at first then became difficult to deal with on simple request, and seemed very unwilling to accommodate basic wants for layout and set up. Bathroom doors don’t lock and lots of knickknacks and clutter that made it feel smaller. We only hosted 109 people and it was extremely tight. All of the tables being different sizes makes it challenging to accurately fit the same amount of people at each table. We also had an issue with the venue owners dog, biting our son on the day of our wedding, which was then dismissed by owners as not being a big deal. They certainly didn’t ruin my wedding day, but I would never recommend this venue to anyone I know.
Millstone was great. They tailored to our every need and made our day special with no hiccups in between
We enjoyed the weekend and the option to have all of our family stay in one area! There were a few items that happened inside the lodge leading up to the wedding; toilets not work...
ing properly, lights blowing out, leaks in the windows, but we made the best of our time together and did not concentrate on the small issues.
Amazing experience. I would highly recommend the Inn. Situated along a dirt road not too far off of 89...the Inn was perfect for our wedding party to stay all weekend for our reh...
earsal dinner, reception and brunch. The brunch provided by Pierre, Inn co-owner, was nothing short of amazing! Frankie his sister and co-owner was very communicative throughout the planning process. Perfect.
The location is beautiful and has many opportunities for beauty year-round. The lodge has 5 rooms (b&b style) for your wedding party/friends to stay in. There is also a small l...
