We were over the moon with our reception at the Milwaukee Public Market. The staff went above and beyond. They were so accommodating, helping us through the entire process. We had ...
so many excellent choices for food, flexibility on the layout of the space and help with decorations. The space itself is beautiful with the full length windows overlooking the city and the buzz of the market while the space was still open to the public. It was such an enjoyable experiencing planning this with them. We also received so many compliments from our guests about the staff and the florist raved about them as they helped her take down the flowers later at night. Can’t say enough great things, it was the perfect location to celebrate our wedding!!
The Milwaukee Public Market staff is the best in the business. Hosted our welcome party (rehearsal dinner )for roughly 100 people on the upper level of the Market. Opted for a semi...
private rental meaning we did not have a fully private upper level but most of the mezzanine was blocked off for our guests. The food was fantastic as you'd expect at a culinary staple. The MPM team created flower arrangements for the event all we had to do was drop off flowers and vases and the rest was taken care of. We had lots of out of town guests in Milwaukee for the first time, the Public Market is a must visit spot for visitors so it was great to showcase the awesome space for our wedding weekend.
Ellen, Esmeralda, and Crystal were so great to work with at the Milwaukee Public Market! They calmed my nerves and were so easy going! They are open to any ideas and are willing to...
do whatever to make your wedding a truly unique special experience. The food was amazing and the whole night was perfect! I highly recommend looking into the Milwaukee Public Market if you are looking for a great, modern, flexible, wedding reception venue!
We had an amazing experience working with Ellen K. Any food options came from all of the restaurants below. They even decorated and tore down for us! ABSOLUTELY recommend! What a u...

Great to work with! The milwaukee public market is a unique venue that our guests loved. The food was amazing and customized just for us!

weat. She dealt with requests out of left field and talked to both my mom and dad regularly, and never bat an eye - talk about a SAINT. When I struggled to find other vendors, she was quick with suggestions, without being pushy. She was beyond accommodating and allowed us to store a massive amount of decorations in her office space. When it came to the day before, we went over how things should be set up and she blew every expectation out of the water. She was there our entire wedding night, assuring us everything was going according to plan. She even put together a plate of appetizers for us to make sure we were eating. I cannot say enough about Ellen, her team, the chefs at the market, and everything else that goes into make a wedding there go perfectly. We couldn't be more thrilled with how everything went and will be singing Ellen's praises for the next few decades.

We chose the Milwaukee Public Market for it's unique look and feel, and because we liked having our wedding in a venue that was personal to us as a couple. We frequently ate at the...
market and had taken cooking classes there as well. We ran into a scheduling issue with the Market when we were first setting our date, but they handled the situation very promptly and professionally and were able to purpose other date options and offered a discount. The staff was was so helpful and accommodating during the whole process. We couldn't have asked for a better venue to work with. They executed the layout, decorations, and food to a T. The food was also so amazing, we had several guests say it was the best wedding food/ some of the best food they had ever had.
We used the Public Market for our rehearsal dinner, and were super happy we did. The setting was beautiful, and our guests loved the unique (and very Milwaukee!) experience. We had...
a range of amazing dishes - cheese and fruit, hummus, salad, fall veggies, roasted potatoes, and different types of sliders, and arranged for mini desserts with the bakery so people could try a few different things. All absolutely delicious.
There was some slight miscommunication the week before about where we'd be located and final cost (lower than original though!), but Ellen was apologetic and very helpful, and more than made up for any confusion. She was excellent to work with and made sure we were comfortable and happy, and everyone had a great time. I definitely recommend.
MPM was a very unique venue which caught our attention right away! We loved the relaxed and romantic atmosphere with the lanterns and lighting! The price was great for renting and...
they took care of all the food and alcohol we wanted. It was so easy and convenient for us-we are from out of town and all we had to do was drop off décor with instructions and Ellen and her fabulous staff worked their magic for our reception and it became a vision! We were so pleased with how well it turned out and Ellen was very attentive to our every need with any interaction before hand(she's great to email! :) and throughout our whole night again! We couldn't have asked for a better reception without them!
We had our reception at the Market, and so we had to use them as our caterer. No complaints about the food. They were able to make everything we wanted, even if it wasn't a typical...
thing for them. They served guests efficiently, too. I do wish they had been able to serve a plated meal, but my wedding was apparently too large (130 guests) for them to be able to accommodate that with their staff. They did a great job setting up, putting together my s'more bar, and handling our chocolate chip cookie station, though!
There were a few hiccups with the service that may or may not have been able to be avoided (like changing of event planners 3x in 6 months), but I would recommend the Public Market...
for it's selection, options and access. In the city, it is hard to find parking and the Public Market's lot is free. You are able to choose meal options from the many restaurants inside the market. You could get your flowers and your cake there too, if interested. The rental fee was small in comparison to places like the war memorial, the polish community center, the women's center of Elm Grove, etc. We ended up paying much less than we thought when looking at most other large scale, elegant venues. Definitely recommend.
We were looking for something different in downtown Milwaukee and the price to rent the Milwaukee Public Market was the best value we found. Be aware that they do have some extra s...
ervice fees that are not included in the rental cost, but are added on later. The food far exceeded my expectations and so many guests told us how delicious everything was. Ellen, Jan, Katie, and the whole team set up all decor and perfectly captured my vision - there were so many details captured in photos that I didn't realize during the wedding but made the photos after! The next day all we had to do was stop in and pick up anything we wanted to save - such a value considering all of our guests traveled in for the event.

my nerves... Everything looked awesome and the food was delish. We're still getting rave reviews from our guests. I'm not sure if I can adequately articulate how happy we are with how everything turned out at the Market. It definitely made our wedding night extra special.
We loved our reception at the MPM. Ellen is awesome to work with, and I was an out of state bride, so I needed awesome. She made my life so easy and made our reception beautiful. ...
She even added special touches I didn't even think of. She communicated with me via email and by phone and I never felt like my being out of state was an issue. MPM is beautiful, unique and will not be a special place for us forever. I highly recommend the Market if you are looking for something different yet beautiful.
My husband and I cannot say enough good things about this reception location. We had such a good time planning everything and having our wedding at this unique wedding location in ...
Milwaukee. I have lived all over and so when we were looking for unique wedding venues -my one requirement was that it didn't look like a banquet hall and we got more than we were looking for. This unique venue helped with a lot of things, the food and service was outstanding, and everyone is still complimenting us on how nice everything was!

y reception. One unfortunate part is the poor service my guest received from the bartenders. They were two very unfriendly men, even to me. For me, I was treated poorly after the reception such as being told there was someone smoking in the men's room. I guess it made me feel like I should've somehow policed the bathrooms during my wedding. In addition, the staff was not very helpful at working out a payment plan for the beverages and in fact became very short with me. They expected me to have this all figured out, when I was waiting for their guidance. Overall, I have good memories of the evening but am not sure I would recommend the hassle of poor service to another bride.
We used the MPM for our 100 person wedding reception and it turned out well. They were very flexible with the menu and were easily able to work within our budget and needs. Plus, a...
ll of the food comes from the local vendors downstairs, which we really liked. The only drawback is that the staff is a bit laid back, which could be a positive if you are okay with just letting them do everything, but if you want to be a bit more hands-on, this could be a concern. There is also no offical printed floor plan of the space, so our plan was hand drawn and our tables ended up not being in the correct places and my family was seated at a table on the dance floor, right by the noisy speakers where she couldn't really see me. So just be careful of that. But overally, we had a great time and would definitely recommend the MPM if you are looking for a unique, affordable option for your small wedding reception!
