Nancy was great at responding to all of my questions very quickly and was at MGC the day of the day of the wedding to help make sure everything ran smoothly. Throughout the planning process, she was very helpful and gave us many good recommendations. Another bonus of MGC is that the venue is so beautiful on it’s own, it requires very minimal decorations. One thing that was very important to me was that there were no hidden fees, I have many friends who have gotten burned on that in the past. Nancy and MGC were very upfront with their prices and we had no hidden fees. The food was made in house and was absolutely fabulous. We did passed appetizers and a plated dinner and got many compliments on it throughout the night. One thing I did like about MGC, is they do allow you to bring in your own desserts for free, there is a cake cutting fee, but we did cupcakes, so this wasn’t a problem.

We got rave reviews from our guests that drinks were made well and efficiently (no waiting in line) and that all the food that they provided was delicious! I don't have a bad word to say about MGC, don't hesitate to check them out!

The venue was STUNNING. We leveraged the bridal suite to get ready in the morning and it truly made the start of our day so smooth and easy and was the perfect space for our large group to get ready. The views of the golf course in the main ballroom and access to the veranda overlooking the course set a gorgeous backdrop for our evening. The food was incredible and we had many guests comment that it was the best meal they had ever had at wedding before. From the apps, to the main courses, to the late night snacks and desserts— everything was top notch and priced at a great value. The staff was helpful, professional, and genuinely cared about every guest. They worked hard to ensure everything ran smoothly and had no trouble pivoting when there were delays in our timeline. Hands-down the best wedding venue and event/catering team in Minneapolis! Cannot recommend MGC enough!!

We planned our wedding from out of state so we relied on Nancy to help us and she knocked it out of the park. She was efficient in her communications and her recommendations were spot on. The course and venue were absolutely beautiful (especially with the fall colors) so we didn't need a single decoration. Our guests did not stop telling us how perfect everything was. Also, the late night pizza was a BIG hit for our guests.

She answered every single email within 24 hours, and was always available for a quick phone call when we needed her. The bridal suite at the venue is a dream and we had so much fun getting ready there. We had just about 200 guests, and the space was perfect for both the ceremony and reception. The food is incredible, as well. If you're looking for a low-stress, elegant experience, I cannot recommend MGC enough.

ncé and I toured MANY places and let me tell you, they have it all. We chose to postpone our wedding an entire year because of COVID, so we had a LOT of time to get to know Nancy and the staff. Nancy always emailed us back right away and answered any question we had, no matter how silly or stupid. She clearly knows what she is doing, I didn't hire a day of coordinator or wedding coordinator because Nancy was so great at answering questions. Maggie (who helps day of) was so helpful and excited for us. When I got there at 10am she was practicing setting up our head table to make sure I thought it looked good. I don't think there was a single request I had that the staff said "no" to. I still can't believe it. The chef was also amazing with accommodating our requests. We had a non-traditional winter wedding buffet of brats and sauerkraut, BBQ chicken, cornbread, and man & cheese. This was not on the menu, so Nancy asked the chef and he said he was able to do it, no problem! We got SO MANY COMPLIMENTS on the food (like, more compliments on the food than my dress! I digress). One last thing - I highly recommend renting the bridal suite and buying the package with mirrored stations and getting ready in the room. All of my makeup artists and hair stylists said it was "the nicest bridal suite they have gotten to work out of*. And the lighting coming from all of the huge windows in the suite is *chef's kiss* simply perfect for getting your makeup done. The lunch was delicious too - we dipped the homemade chips into the egg salad for egg salad sandwiches like it was going out of style. And none of us are big into egg salad? But it was so good. Well if you for some reason are still reading the rest of my novel review, please go and book a venue tour at MGC. You won't regret it.

revious venue was going to be burned down that I decided to switch to the Minneapolis Golf Club, and I could not have been happier with the decision. The golf course and landscaping provided a BEAUTIFUL backdrop for the ceremony, reception, and our photos. The staff was prepared, efficient, and quick to respond to email inquiries. I literally had no stress because Nancy and her team were so on top of everything - very professional and experienced with great advice for brides like me who need all the help they can get! We ended up having our rehearsal dinner at the venue as well, and the crew was so accommodating. We just made sure to serve a different entrée and salad for the rehearsal dinner than the day of the wedding so people didn't get sick of the food. Speaking of which - the food was absolutely amazing. The day of our wedding we served the Filet Mignon & Poached Shrimp and Crispy Tuscan Chicken with the mashed potatoes and asparagus with each. My guests and I all agreed that the food was superior to any other wedding meal we have ever had. We had the ceremony in the same space as the reception, and our guests went and had a cocktail hour in the bar/main hall area while the staff flipped the room. Honestly, the cocktail hour (technically it was an hour and a half because we hired a crew to set up linens and flowers so it took some time) was perfect and went by so quickly. The staff served all the delicious appetizers of our choice to our guests and had champagne ready for everyone as soon as they exited the ceremony so as not to overwhelm the bartender during the cocktail hour. It helped avoid lines at the bar, and people were able to continue mingling while butlers passed the horduerves around on trays. The reception space had a dance floor in the front of the room in front of the huge windows for a lovely backdrop, and the Club has a lit-up balcony that guests could cool off and mingle on during dance breaks. Our guests had a great time hanging in the bar area, balcony area, and dance floor all night long. The staff helped to make sure we had everything wrapped up by 11:30. One tip: the bridal get ready room is awesome, and I highly recommend paying for the package that includes the vanity mirrors, breakfast buffet, and mimosas. It was SO much fun for all of us, and we really got pumped for the walk down the aisle. Choose this venue! You won't regret it!! Many of our guests raved about the filet and we knew they would based on our tasting. We also enjoyed working with Nancy because she has a ton of experience with large events, has great ideas and is very detailed oriented. I have one piece of constructive criticism about the menu. We chose the mac and cheese for a late afternoon snack, it didn’t meet my expectations, especially when compared to the quality of their other dishes.

o COVID, and the manager there, Nancy was very understanding and helpful through the process. As far as the day-of the wedding, I highly recommend to do the bridal suite upgrade. It turns out beautiful and really sets the tone for the day. The food was 10/10 (so many great options to choose from). Lastly, I cannot emphasize enough, that Maggie (who is the day-of go to gal for the bridal party) was the biggest star of them all. She is incredible at what she does and is a ball of energy, who is excited to help with anything and everything you could ever need. If I could do it all over again I would choose this venue in a heartbeat. They have it down to a science! HIGHLY recommend this venue for your wedding.

They only have one room for getting ready so we had a room separator put up so the guys and girls could interact. It was so much fun to have the whole wedding party together. The guys went down to the bar while I got in my dress before the first look. The food was spectacular. We still get comments from guests on the food and how good it was. There are hotels not far away which was very convenient to get to for out of town guests. The whole wedding party and many guests went to the bars in West End after the venue closed to end the night which was so much fun and easy to get to. Highly recommend this venue due to staff, clean and organized, location, amazing food, and so on!

We walked away from that first meeting feeling confident and excited! Unfortunately, our original wedding date (like many others) was affected by COVID-19. However, instead of stressing about how this would change our plans, Nancy asked to set up time to talk about our options. She immediately put our minds at ease and helped us reschedule a new date. No pressure or questions asked. We had many other friends who planned to get married in the summer of 2020 and did not have this same experience with their venues. We knew we were in good hands! Fast forward to our new date in June 2021 and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Nancy and her team were phenomenal to work with from start to finish. In addition to answering all of my questions in the months leading up to our reception, Nancy also communicated and coordinated with many of our vendors to make the day run smoothly. Our reception turned out more beautiful and better than I could have ever imagined! When Nancy brought my mom and I into the ballroom before the dinner started, it literally took my breath away. The MGC team went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Our guests raved about the food, friendly staff and beautiful indoor and outdoor space. If you're looking for an elegant, fun and beautiful space to host your wedding (with a team you can trust), the Minneapolis Golf Club is the venue for you! After seeing other venues online that cost an ungodly amount of money just to rent the room, we were so pleasantly surprised by MGC's very modest room rental fee and food and beverage minimum. Especially because it's a stunning banquet hall and the food is amazing. And not to mention, Nancy Johnson (the Director of Events) and the whole catering staff are just wonderful and easy to work with. The day of coordinator, Dan, was great and ensured the day ran smoothly. This was the easiest part of wedding planning because of their team. Cherry on top: Nancy's communication is incredible. She is excellent at communicating with couples so you're never in the dark (example: she was going to be out of town for a week, and took the time to send a letter to all of her couples well in advance letting us know and reassuring us that we would hear back promptly upon her return.) we knew this had to be our venue. Nancy made us feel so welcomed and at ease. My parents were from out of state and met Nancy for the first time at the food tasting. After the tasting, my parents commented that this was the first time they felt comfortable having the wedding in another state because of how professional and prepared Nancy was. When it came to the wedding day, it was nothing short of a fairytale wedding. Nancy and her staff had the venue looking absolutely amazing! All night, I kept getting compliments from my guests about how beautiful the venue was (keep in mind, I only brought in a few flowers for decoration), how nice the staff were, and how amazing the food was. I genuinely didn’t have to think about a thing the day of my wedding because the staff was so prepared and took care of everything. If I were to do it again, 10 times over I would select the Minneapolis Golf Club as my venue.

She communicated clearly and was willing to work with us on everything. She provided excellent feedback and ideas to us, working to make sure everything was coordinated and setup. It felt almost like she was a mini Wedding planner for us, it was amazing. The meet-up a couple days before the reception really went smoothly and helped to keep both of us calm and collected that everything was in good hands. Food - MGC did a great job with the food. We did the filet and the Tarragon Chicken and they were both spectacular! Not to mention the delicious appetizers that were served to our guests via butlers. The social hour was a hit with the delicious apps and the wine station (plus bar). Timing and Service - Excellent service, everything moved very smoothly from course to course. The staff was well-dressed and very polite, making sure to keep everyone fed and keep wine poured. They also did a good job keeping an eye out to make sure no one was over-imbibing. They were also very helpful in directing traffic and helping some of our more elderly guests to each location. The venue itself was beautiful. The room for the social hour was very well organized and made for great times to chat and catch up with everyone. The banquet hall itself was also beautiful - well lit, clean, and elegant. We had about 160 people and the room felt spacious. The dance floor was in a great location and as night fell, the patio outside was lit with pretty string lights and the golf club had gas heaters outside for anyone looking to take a small break from dancing. The pictures outside are great, it has a really cool old-school golf club feeling with the covered entrance, foyer, and pillars in front. The rear side is also a great place for photos - we are so happy with how they turned out. As another small note, there is a bridal suite on the 2nd floor that was incredibly convenient to use - it was large and had a women's bathroom right across for privacy. It was a good place for the bridal group to catch a breath and store anything that might be needed through the night. We would highly recommend MGC to anyone looking to have an AWESOME reception. We only can hope we get to attend more weddings at this cool venue.

Some of our must haves were a venue that included highly rated in-house catering (check), a space for ceremony and reception with a view (check), a large space for bridal party to get ready in (check) and a beautiful landscape for outdoor pictures (check). From the start, Nancy, the event coordinator was quick to respond to our inquiries and requests. We toured the venue during the off-season (February) and had our wedding on October 19th, 2018. MGC is a charming, elegant, romantic setting. It was cozy, welcoming and just hands-down beautiful - no matter what time of year! There were a few things my husband and I wanted changed or do differently than what MGC typically does, and Nancy was always supportive and accommodating of our wishes. There was one hiccup (on our end) of a family member that was trying to get information on our wedding that we were not comfortable with. Nancy handled the situation in a professional, calm and respectful manner. I was so thankful for her support and reassurance that we were her clients and she will do what we need for our day. Our tasting with Nancy was laid back and fun! We walked through all the details and my husband and I knew we were in good hands. Nancy really knows what she is talking about! Oh, and the food and wine were out of this world good!! Our final walk through the week of our wedding was nothing different. Nancy was able to answer all our questions and calm our nerves; it felt like we were working with a friend! All the waiting staff were also accommodating, respectful and made sure we had what we needed when we were on the MGC grounds. Where MGC truly shinned was on our wedding day. We truly felt like royalty on our day. Crystal, our day-of personal waitress was energetic, positive and attentive. She checked in while we were getting ready and made sure everyone in the room had what they needed/wanted. I was calm throughout the day, as my personal attendant was in communication with Nancy making sure all the décor and vendors were set up and ready to go. My PA told my Nancy had everything in control and there was nothing to worry about. After my husband and I walked down the aisle, Nancy was there greeting us with two glasses of champagne to congratulate us! Fun fact – it was her anniversary that day too! It was a small gesture that had big impact on us. Our photographers and videographer were able to take our pictures on the golf course, the picture-perfect grounds made for amazing backdrops for our photos. The evening went on without a hitch and all our guests continued to say how fantastic the food, drinks, service and venue were; we couldn’t agree more! While there was a slight mis-communication about our late-night snack, Nancy was very professional and communicated with us about the situation. If this was the only issue that happened on our wedding day – I’ll take it! After our wedding, we received our final bill and the estimates Nancy had were nearly spot on! She is amazing. As my husband and I look back on our wedding day, we would choose Minneapolis Golf Club again – 100%! We are highly impressed with their service, catering and willingness to accommodate to ensure our wedding was unique and personalized. Our wedding day was the best day of our lives, and we have MGC to thank for that. Must-haves about this venue: Champagne toast, hors d’oeuvres, gas lamps on veranda, and Nancy & Crystal!
