Minnesota Wedding Party

well. However, after our meeting I sent him a follow-up email with a question regarding our conversation and didn't hear back for over a week. I followed up again just touching base on that question, and he eventually replied. I then let him know that my fiancé and I wanted to book him for our wedding, but unfortunately I never received a response back to that either. While I understand how busy wedding vendors can be, the lack of communication/responsiveness was disappointing.

as so attentive to us on our big day! We felt very special and would definitely hire him again!

ere perfect. He was easy to get a hold of and communicate with prior to the wedding, and was prepared and timely during the wedding day. HIGHLY recommend Tim

and and I. We told him up front that we are country fans, and I understand that not everyone likes country, but we’re paying you! Second: My husband had one request for a specific song to play as the last song of the night and we had to beg him to play it. We got our wish …but the lights were all on and he played it super quietly… not the vibe we wanted for our last song. Third: During our wedding when we were trying to get guests from the dining room to another room for dancing he came up to me and said rudely “your family isn’t listening to me so it’s your job to get them in here now” … um wtf? Lastly, at the end of the night once it was time to go home he came up to my husband and I (as we are both an emotional wreck leaving our wedding night) asking when we were going to pay him the rest of what we owed. DUDE you could have asked at any other point… not as 1am as the bride and groom are leaving their wedding night. He also was hard to communicate with and would say “sorry life has been getting in the way” when he wouldn’t reply for days. I had a great wedding day and our dance floor was a party but I would not use Tim if I could go back and do it again.

time and the dance floor was full all night long! Would definitely recommend.

thanks to Tim's excellent DJ skills. Tim also took the time to get to know us and help out as a pseudo- second coordinator. You're in great hands if Tim is your DJ.

m a diverse playlist—ranging from Hip-Hop to Classic Rock—and he handled it effortlessly. Jeff had every generation on the dance floor—Baby Boomers, Gen X, Millennials, and Gen Z—all celebrating together. The energy lasted all night, and the fun didn’t stop with the music. The Photo Booth included in our DJ package captured so many amazing memories. Thank you, Jeff, Tim, and the Minnesota Wedding Party team, for making our night truly special. If you’re looking for a professional and entertaining DJ, I can’t recommend them enough!

ls and music selection, and Tim was very responsive to text messages regarding any questions we had leading up to the weeding day. He had a lot of great suggestions as well, which helped things to flow seamlessly day of. One of my favorite suggestions was to record a message for my husband that would be played prior to going down the aisle, everyone loved this! Tim also had mic packs for us to ensure that all of our guests would be able to hear our responses during the ceremony. The reception was also amazing, Tim played exactly what we asked for, and kept people on the dance floor all night long! We got so many compliments on how good Tim was, everyone loved him. He also offers an "audio guestbook" where guests pick up a phone and leave a voice message for the couple, which is then compressed into a digital file for you to listen to later. Super cute and a very unique/fun twist on the traditional guestbook! Tim also did a great job at making sure we stayed "on task" and that there wasn't a lot of waiting around before moving on to the next thing, whether that was pictures, dinner, speeches, etc. We cannot recommend Tim and the Minnesota Wedding Party enough! Thank you Tim!!!

inding ways to make moments we still talk about for weeks after the wedding!

reading me with likes and dislikes of things that are happening. He went above and beyond with the grand entrance, went above and beyond with the lighting, surprised us with a sparkler event for our photographer and us, and the best part of the night was playing a slow dance song and including our vows from the ceremony which made me absolutely loose it in tears. If you need a dj that respects YOUR wishes and YOUR wedding day get Tim! He made the night the most memorable! 10/10 would hire him again!

making sure every guest was up on their feet and having a blast. Not only was he a fantastic DJ, but he was an exceptional host, keeping everything running smoothly. The biggest surprise of the night was when he played the most beautiful song during our reception, overlaying our vows through the speakers. It was an unforgettable, emotional moment that left everyone in awe. He truly went above and beyond to make our day magical. If you’re looking for someone who will create an unforgettable atmosphere and add those special touches, look no further. We couldn’t have asked for a better DJ! THANK YOU TIM!!

ze. We could not be happier with our choice to go with Minnesota Wedding Party. Thanks so much Tim

ith both of them. Jeff and Tim had great attention to detail and you can tell they both love what they do. The mirror Photo Booth, audio guest books, and cyro guns are amazing additions to their services and I 10/10 recommend them for your wedding or event needs!

astic time” My family also mentioned that he wasn’t just a DJ, he was an “everything guy.” He kept the timeline on track, he dealt with issues that arose, he got drinks for myself and my Husband. His TVs that he uses to display music videos were also a huge hit and everyone commented on how unique that was. He has a photo booth as well which I booked and it got a TON of use. It was very convenient to have one vendor for both DJ and photo booth. The booth comes with props and an attendant, and she makes a photo book for you by the end of the night! It was all really perfect and I would highly recommend.

he was engaging and created a lively party even with a less-outgoing crowd.

to maximize what our venue offered. He helped us personalize our day. He worked so well with our other vendors and made a point to get to know us and talk with us. He checked in with us multiple times throughout the day and grabbed us drinks before dinner. He included the audio guestbook in our package which was a hit! Tim was so responsive, often responding within a few hours. We are so, so, so grateful for him. Absolutely above and beyond in every way!!!

groom, or wedding party. We were so busy with all the details that having him there was really great! At the end of the night he put our vows together with a special song and we ended our beautiful wedding on the dance floor with an extra special moment and everyone in happy tears. We highly recommend Tim!

sts needed to return to their seats before he would turn his music down. We asked him again, and said if he turned his music down, that would be a sign for people to return to their seats, and my husband could use the microphone to let people know the speeches were going to start. He would not consent to doing this until the manager of the venue came in. We believe he was irritated with us after this, and he played music that our daughter had on her “do not play list” all night long. He also stopped playing the music one hour earlier than he was supposed to. He was very arrogant and it was all about him. It was not Tim Folkenson that showed up that day, It was his brother. We don’t understand why he wouldn’t keep to the Brides timeline of when she wanted the music turned down so the speeches could start. Then for us, the parents to request a few times for him to turn it down thinking he maybe forgot the timeline. It ended up being 50 minutes later and also causing stress that wasn’t needed that day! This wedding was Oct 14, 2023

as most important to us was Tim described himself as a host more than a DJ. He was truly integral to making everything flow seamlessly. Would highly recommend him for your special day.

s, Tim guided us through everything we needed to know regarding the DJ services for our ceremony and reception. He was incredibly helpful in making recommendations as we selected music and made decisions around ceremony and reception logistics. My husband and I got married at Chanhassen Dinner Theatres, and Corey from Minnesota Wedding Party was our DJ. Corey is awesome! We appreciated that he is intimately familiar with the venue and its staff. Corey helped ensure the flow of the evening was seamless. He is very professional and did such a great job with music selection, announcements, and keeping the fun going throughout the evening. We added on the Mirror Photo Booth from Minnesota Wedding Party, and we are so glad we did! It was a huge hit with our guests and so fun for my husband and me to receive a photo album with all of our guests’ photos. The photo booth was staffed by Mel, who was so fun and great with our guests. She really did a fabulous job! The photo booth was an amazing addition to our reception that we would highly recommend to others.

st to hang out and party with Tim!

we were staying on time, got drinks for the head table & family tables during dinner. He was so helpful and checked on us frequently for anything we might of needed. I HIGHLY recommend! Our wedding was located in Nisswa, MN and he made the drive to be our DJ.

cake cutting, & first dances. The Photo Booth was an absolute hit! Highly recommend! We also got to test out the phone booth for a voicemail guest book for another memento from the day.

ng the planning process to answer questions and suggested amazing ideas. We would 100% book Minnesota Wedding party again - and if you can, I would definitely upgrade and get the photo booth, our guests absolutely loved it.

les for dinner, giving mics to people for speeches, and getting EVERYONE out on the dance floor…we loved him. Tim, thank you for making our wedding a night to remember!

our wedding to make sure I had everything he needed and it definitely helped with planning! On the day of our wedding, he was so helpful with everything! He helped clean up tables, always made sure we had a drink for us at our table, and was wonderful at communicating with our guests. When it came to our dance, he kept the dance floor packed all night long! He truly made our wedding night absolutely perfect. On top of that, we received multiple compliments from our guests on how much fun they had and how great of a DJ Tim was! We are so happy with our experience with Tim as our DJ!

t music to making sure we were on track with timing, to even providing tissues for our bridesmaids to discretely hide in their bouquets for the ceremony- he did it all. Tim is truly incredible at what he does, and anyone who works with him is lucky

nds. Not only is he an amazing DJ but he is an awesome guy and we couldn’t appreciate him enough

moothly. He was so easy to talk to and so kind! His experience showed through on the wedding day as he stayed on top of the timeline and made sure transitions were smooth. He coached us through cake cutting, checked in with us frequently, helped direct guests, and even grabbed drinks for us during dinner. The music selections were great and the sound quality through the ceremony, social hour, and reception was excellent too. Tim was receptive to our requests and played a variety of music that kept people dancing all night. He was also an exceptional host throughout the night! We had such a blast and our guests were raving about Tim both during and after the wedding. He truly went above and beyond our expectations and I'm so glad we had him as our DJ!

n to have great music and a full dance floor. Jeff did awesome and okayed a variety of music that kept the dance floor full all night. Would definitely recommend Jeff for your DJ

red to get us drinks at the head table and checked in with us throughout the night. And this was all before the dance started! Tim knows the right songs to play to keep your guests on the dance floor and having a BLAST! We were so happy we found Tim and would recommend him to everyone!

ning and considered every request that we made for music. We had requests for an acoustic video game song for our ceremony and Polish disco music (DiscoPolo) for our reception and Tim made it happen without batting an eye. Tim knows Chanhassen Dinner Theatres inside and out. They did the sound for our ceremony and worked with our videographer to support microphones for staging, recording, and live-streaming. He also gave us fantastic suggestions for our ceremony processional, as well as photoshoot spots for our photographer. Tim thinks of every detail that can make your day magical and does their best to deliver on it. His music choices and mixings were incredibly fun and he helped keep everyone dancing for hours. An additional note: we are an LGBTQ+ couple and Tim always made us feel respected and valid. They are simply an amazing human being that truly cares about their clients. Seriously, any couple looking for a wedding DJ: book Minnesota Wedding Party. You won’t regret working with them. We definitely don’t. :)

e did an incredible job with both the ceremony and reception. We were pleased with sound quality at our outdoor ceremony, guests could hear from every seat! The same goes for the reception during speeches. Throughout the night Jeff would check in to see how everything was going, which I thought was sweet. The music flowed nicely throughout the night. We had a blast dancing the night away.

everal of our friends used MN wedding party and had such a great experience, and we had such a good time at weddings where MN Wedding Party was hosting and dj'ing, we decided to hire them for our wedding reception and dance. Tim provides more than just the DJ'ing service, he's your wedding day reception guardian angel. Tim has been in the business long enough, that he's able to see beyond his role as a dj, and take the stress off of the wedding reception and and dance by being another person connecting all of the day-of-wedding activity at your reception site. You'll be surprised how helpful he is on your wedding day, ensuring that everything is running smoothly, and you and your guests are having an AWESOME time. Days after our wedding, we were still receiving compliments from our guests about how memorable Tim and MN Wedding Party made our night. I've been in the large event business for 20 years, and Tim is someone who truly "gets it." Sometimes its hard to explain it, until you've lived through your wedding day, but looking back, hiring Tim with MN Wedding Party was the best decision we made. We were so lucky he had our date available. I would recommend ensuring a memorable low-stress wedding day by hiring Tim with Minnesota Wedding Party.

super flexible and understanding with us through the whole process. Tim was very responsive by phone and text while planning and gave me some great ideas when I was at a loss picking out songs for certain parts of the ceremony and reception. He has top of the line equipment and everything came through so clearly for both our ceremony and our reception, even my dad who is a total audio nerd was impressed! My uncle was our officiant and he was also very impressed by Tim and thankful for his help and preparedness prior to the ceremony. I added in a couple of readers very last minute and forgot to tell Tim but he came prepared for everything and it ended up working out perfectly! Tim also was able to make 2 very special things happen for us. We were able to give him a jump drive that had a speech my late grandfather did at our original backyard wedding on it and he was able to play it during our ceremony. It came through so clearly and there was not a dry eye in the crowd. He was also able to play a youtube video that one of my uncles made during our ceremony on his TVs that he brings and that was a big hit! He kept the dance party going all night and we got comments from all of our guests saying how great Tim was and how much fun they had! They also bring TVs that play music videos of each song during the dance portion and during dinner they display all of the pictures your guests post using your hashtag! Everyone loved it! You will be so happy with yourself if you book Minnesota Wedding Party for your event!

), and he was a terrific MC/host. He clearly has done this a time or two and know what to do in every situation. Highly recommend!

in any way.

ooo fun!

and asked what the chances of getting a dairy free meal were. He assured me he would take care of it. Not only did I receive a dairy free salad and entree (the same time as everyone else received their meals) but he found me in the reception to ensure it had come out properly. It was at this time that I realized he was the DJ and event host and not affiliated with the event center. All I can say is THANK YOU THANK TOU THANK YOU. Tim goes above and beyond and anyone looking for a DJ should definitely go with him.

to COVID, Tim was unphased by new challenges and did everything possible to still make our day awesome. Minnesota Wedding Party actually traveled all the way to Iowa for us! He worked seamlessly with all the other vendors to keep the entire day running smoothly, eliminating all stress from me. From the ceremony to the reception, our day was perfect because of Tim's confidence and expertise. Tim prepared a livestream to help with social distancing and also game show activities in the case that we wouldn't be able to have a dance. Luckily, we did get to have a dance and it was better than I could've imagined - I actually heard many guests say they had never been to as fun of a dance in their lives. The floor was packed all night long. Oh, and did I mention he made sure every person in the wedding party had drinks all night long?! Tim is everything you need in a DJ and more - look no further for your next event!

hs just to say he was thinking of us and hoped we were doing well! He was very attentive to details, and we reviewed out day of details a week before the wedding just to ensure we were both on the same page. Unfortunately Tim was working another wedding the same day as ours- but luckily we had Jeff come and be our DJ! He introduced himself right away the morning of the wedding- and he knew exactly what to do and when to do it! Tim filled him in on everything. Jeff was there from beginning to end and CONSTANTLY checked in on us to make sure everything was going well, ask any questions, and even brought us both a beer a few times when he noticed our hands were empty :) SO appreciated! He read the crowd very well throughout the whole day and always had the right kind of genre to play during different parts of the day. Would absolutely hire again- thanks for making our day perfect Tim and Jeff!! -Aaron and Kristie Daugherty 8.8.2020

y flexible when we added the shoe game in literally 5 min before the dance started! The photo booth and photo book was also a fun touch that was exciting to look through with my husband the next day! He also had an awesome electric piano that he allowed my brother to use for the singing of our first dance at no additional cost! The reason I gave them a 3 star review is that it was very difficult to get in touch with Tim and as a very detail oriented person I was incredibly stressed not getting in touch after the original booking until about 2 weeks before our wedding. Another issue we had is that photos and videos of our wedding were not only posted on his business Instagram but also on his daughters (who was running the photo booth) personal Instagram. We had our wedding on a Friday so we got the photo booth for “free” however during dinner he asked me if I had a vase they could use for tips at the photo booth. When I told him I did not want there to be a tip jar as it would detour guests from using it he was very understanding and did not put it out. In my opinion that should have been discussed before hand and not while I was eating dinner during my wedding. All in all Tim is a great DJ and charges a very reasonable price. If I were too do it all again I i would still use Tim I would just have had talked through specifics a little more and asked that my wedding not be put on his daughter personal Instagram page.
