Commissioned by San Clemente's founder, Ole Hanson, in 1937, this Spanish Colonial Revival masterpiece opened its doors on May 12, 1938, as the San Clemente Theatre. Designed by renowned architect Clifford A. Balch, the building quickly became a beloved community landmark with its distinctive 44-foot tower visible throughout town. Rechristened the Miramar Theater in 1969, this historic venue has witnessed decades of laughter, celebration, and community gathering—and now creates the backdrop for love stories to unfold.
