Mirror Image Photography

Renee was more of a blessing than I could ever explain for us and our wedding. We got engaged last year and due to my grandparents age we decided to fast-track our wedding to include them in the ceremony. Because of this and other factors we were already planning to host a wedding in 9 months on a limited budget. As the date got closer and our budget grew smaller I was so worried and I posted, looking for a last-minute photographer and by the grace of the universe, Renee reached out. I was already inundated with upwards of 30+ local photographers commenting and messaging me and when Renee messaged me I was so in over my head I was so close to throwing in the towel. Renee set up a call with me and right away she was eager to help, I explained to her the need for the rush and our limited budget and she understood 1,000%! We talked for almost 2 hours about different ideas she had to incorporate my grandparents into our ceremony and by the end of the call she managed to fit my whole wedding day and a one-on-one professional video of my 92 year old grandparents talking about their love story and memories that my family and I get to keep for the rest of our lives, all in the budget that other photographers were going to charge me for 4 hours of coverage. By the end of that call I was in tears, thanking Renee for her generosity, but that was only the beginning of the wonderful things Renee did for us. Renee followed up with my fiancé and I two more times in the span of the month before our wedding. She gave us budget tips and ideas, and even recommended some vendors for us to use that were cost effective! She met us at our venue for our engagement photos, in the snow in December in Vermont and they just turned out beyond magical. On our wedding day she came with the most calming and positive energy and was willing to put down her camera and get her hands dirty helping my family and bridal party with all of the last minute preparation things and her whole purpose was to be there for us with whatever we needed. She ended up taking some impromptu boudoir photos that morning before I got into my dress and at first I was hesitant. I do not have the best personal body-image by any means, but Renee walked me through it and made me feel comfortable enough in my own body to have these empowering pictures that I also get to share with my husband! But more than anything, the photographs Renee took of my husband and I and our family brought me to tears. We've had several photographers take professional photos of us for various things, but none of them have the emotion and artistry that Renees photos have. I can feel the love my husband and I share in every photo. Renee effortlessly led us through different parts of our venue to capture different lights, colors, backgrounds, and expressions and every single one of them is a stunning work of art. Renee has a passion and love for photography that you rarely see in photographers nowadays. Photographers are a dime a dozen and they're all competing to have the best photos at the most competitive prices. Renee is nothing like that and is truly in it for her passion of her art and it really, truly shows. My husband and I agree that Renee was the blessing of our wedding in Vermont. Everything that could have gone wrong went wrong that day, but Renee spirited us through it all the way. I cannot express how much I recommend Renee and Mirror Image Photography. If you choose Renee I promise you will not regret it.

We just got home from our engagement shoot with Renee and can’t say enough good about her! To start, she made us both feel so comfortable like an old friend; my fiancé typically hates being in front of the camera and PDA but right off the bat he was smiling, laughing, and snuggling in for photos. She helped us capture both real and posed moments inside using things that were meaningful to us (our special mugs and baking) before moving outside for a nature shoot. She approached every pose and spot within the location with such enthusiasm (she even got out on some rocks in the water on a 30 degree, slightly snowy day to get the shots we all wanted). We obviously haven’t gotten the edited photos yet but the raw ones she showed us were just amazing. She went absolutely above and beyond to get photos we loved and even helped us push our car out of a snow bank. We’re so excited to get the edited photos and to work with Renee for our wedding; the engagement session just solidified we’re in wonderful hands! Editing to add about our wedding day now that it's gone by! I hardly know where to begin; Renee has been such a joy to work with since we hired her in October 2022. We worked with her for an engagement session, a bonus engagement session, and our wedding and she gave us absolutely amazing photos for each one. She brings a special energy to each event and did such an amazing job making everyone feel like they look amazing (both in person and in the final pictures). She’s so flexible and goes with the flow as well; her assistant was sick on the day of our wedding so she showed up a bit early and got all of the photos on her own. We’ve gotten so many compliments from friends and family about her involvement throughout the wedding and the quality of the finished photos she’s gotten us (side note: she got us over 100 within a week of the wedding which I found pretty impressive). Overall, we and everyone at the wedding highly recommend her if you’re looking for a photographer.
