Cati was my and my mom's hair and makeup artist (and I did a trial with her, too). She was amazing to work with, and we got along really well. During the trial, she took almost three hours with me to try out two different types of hairstyles (up and down) using the extensions I provided. For makeup, she totally got my desire for a natural look and nailed it. I felt that she took feedback with true professionalism and not at all personally - everything was about "okay, no problem, how do we make it what you want?" On the actual wedding day, she was right on time and got our hair and makeup done in a timely way. She also continued to adapt, like when I said I thought I needed a little more drama in my makeup. My mom also has tricky, short hair, and Cati tried several things until mom felt it was right. That kind of dedication to client satisfaction is so important and we really appreciated it. One last thing - Cati wore her mask without fail, which I really appreciated as a pregnant, Covid-conscious bride. Thanks to Cati and Lucy and the whole team for excellent service.

Our wedding party decided to walk from our Airbnb, ride the subway and walk the rest of the way to the venue - my look was STILL pristine! Through the wind, cold and joyous tears during the ceremony, my beaten face and snatched hair didn't move an inch! I danced throughout our reception...I even took a nap and wore the SAME hair and makeup out all night in the city. I received compliments from friends to strangers, feeling so stunning for my husband on our wedding day. Do yourself a favor and add them to your vendor list because Lucy is much more than that - she's an angelic, patient, hilarious and beautiful human who for over a year, planned all the details with me, ultimately making me the most gorgeous bride I could have ever imagined! Zully perfectly understood what kind of vibes and look I wanted for my wedding, and put me at ease. Lucy then organized two extra artists so that we could make sure everyone’s hair and makeup would be done early enough. The two artists she sent were just as incredible as Zully. My mother in law does not speak english, but the makeup artist really went out of her way to make her comfortable and use Google translate (and some hand gestures) to make sure she was happy with everything. I felt so beautiful on my wedding day, and my hair and makeup held up perfectly all night and into the wee hours of the after party.

When I finally met Lucy in person for my second trial, it was like reuniting with an old friend! I knew I was in great hands. She is truly dedicated to making your vision a reality. Also as someone with sensitive temperamental skin, I LOVE that all the products they use are organic and hypoallergenic. When our big day finally arrived Lucy and her team was phenomenal! My bridal party’s hair and makeup were flawless! Lucy traveled with us to the venue and stayed while we took our pictures before the ceremony. I’m so happy Lucy was there because it was a very windy day and she kept us all looking perfect! Hiring Lucy is truly one of the best decisions I have ever made.

Truly helps with the wedding nerves! Before the wedding, she was also very on top of her emails and would respond to all of our questions within 24 hours. I'd highlight recommend booking Lucy and her team for your wedding day!

I initially planned to work with another hair stylist/makeup artist. I will explain some of what happened during the first trial to highlight to you Miss Harlequin's professionalism, organization, attention to detail and, most, importantly, talent! My initial vendor cancelled our trial after I texted to confirm 2 days' before. The rescheduled trial left me completely unhappy about how I would look on our wedding day and worse yet worried if she would even show up. I explained that I wanted a "natural" look - to look like myself, but elevated - and I wanted my hair in loose waves. During our trial, she proceeded to cover me in layers of foundation, concealer other products, which felt heavy on my skin, stating she needed to take out my color then add it back in. At the end, she said she forgot a few steps along the way and added them out of order. I looked like a clown and was a cakey mess with limp hair within 1 hour after the trial. When I explained that we just found out that NYC rescheduled the 5 Boro Bike Tour for the day of our wedding, she yelled at me that her gear weighed 75 lbs. and she could not get around without her car. I needed to hire a new, reliable and skillful hair stylist/makeup artist 1 month before our wedding. The night of my trial, my fiancee and I contacted numerous vendors to find someone who would be available during this crazy busy wedding season on 1 month's notice. ENTER LUCY! We found Miss Harlequin on Yelp. We were impressed by the reviews and the pictures on Instagram. Lucy was extremely quick to respond to my initial request for a quote and every email that followed. She answered every question that I had almost instantly. She sent clear and helpful instructions to prepare for the trial. Cati did my hair and makeup for my trial and on our wedding day. She patiently looked through the pictures I compiled to show how I wanted my hair and makeup to look. Miss Harlequin uses airbrushing which covers imperfections and feels light on your skin. My skin was even-toned and had a beautiful glow. Natural, but elevated! The results were exactly what I wanted! The trial was on a hot and humid July day. Afterwards my fiancee and I walked all around the Upper East Side and Midtown for hours to run errands for the wedding and my hair and makeup both held up as if Cati had just finished her work!!! We thought the worst thing we would have to deal with was the street closures due to the bike tour on the day of our wedding. Nope! The bike tour was cancelled (again) due to Tropical Storm Henri. Despite torrential downpours, Cati and the rest of the Miss Harlequin team showed up before 6 a.m. to get started. My small wedding party and I were extremely happy with hair and makeup and we received so many compliments. Cati stayed for 2 extra hours for touchups during our pictures. I could not be happier with our decision to hire Miss Harlequin. I apologize for the long-winded review. If you have reached this point, rest assured you are in wonderful hands. You cannot hire a more professional and talented team.

I showed a couple of pictures of the look I was going for and she was able to deliver with ease - I barely requested any adjustments. The makeup and hair lasted all night and most importantly for me I felt like I looked like an enhanced version of myself. The makeup and here was very polished but still popped in photos. Cati was also very calm day of and easily able to work with a five year old flower girl who was also super excited about how her hair looked.
