Words can't express how amazing Miss Lyss Photography and her team are. Our wedding venue, The Emerald Theater is a challenging venue to shot with no natural lighting and she absolutely exceeded our expectations. Her kindness and experience brought a much needed sense of calm to our bridal party while still keeping it fun and exciting. She truly captured our love and happiness on film and we cannot thank her enough. Seriously, if your looking for a photographer for any moment in your life look no further. We will be going back to her for all our future events. Even if we have to drive from Chicago to Detoit to get to her. We love you, and thank you!!!

I would not recommend Alyssa to anyone who desires timeless wedding photos that will last a lifetime. Even though she is a very kind woman, and when focused can be a great photographer; she unfortunately prioritizes "Instagram" artsy angled shots and her social media. Overall, I would recommend looking clearly through her more recent provided albums, and seeing if candid photography is right for you. She chooses very harsh lighting for dancing, and photographs uncentered photos often. For my husband and I, we are sad these photos will be very dated in a year or two, considering our theme was "timeless". After expressing our dissatisfaction, we were offered compensation for a small reshoot. We had to unfortunately decline at the cost it would take to either recreate the photos (makeup, flights, and rented suits) and due to the extremely inconsiderate way she chose to handle priceless family heirlooms. Alyssa chose to photograph our memory charms, which included a family member's ashes in one of them....on the ground on a rock. Our only copy of our wedding invites (which I hand made down to the stamp), was photographed on dirty concrete outside. Our wedding photos consist mostly of unflattering candids, a handful of awkward angle family portraits, and a ton of photos that are completely useless but cool shots for her instagram. Specific requests, like our memory table, have angles that do not show the entire thing. Her assistant was again, very nice, but unfortunately was more focused on filming instagram reels/stories instead of directing anyone. Every time I talk about my wedding photos I realize I do not have a full bridal party photo that is "normal" and posed, despite us spending 8 hours with her. Unfortunately closer to our wedding, our meetings were frazzled and disorganized. She was more focused on following her normal shot list opposed to actual requests. She took my request not to "fake" shots (like putting on my dress hours after I had it on), and took that as if I didn't want any posed shots with my family. Poor communication is what led to our wedding album to be almost all candid photos, which directly conflicted with our prior conversations about timelessness and high importance on portraits. Our engagement photos were amazing, which is why I am leaving her at two stars opposed to my disappointed family members urging me to review zero. Unfortunately Alyssa went from noticing a bandaid on my then fiance's finger during our engagement photos, to not realizing I had hair in my face or fixing my dress on my wedding day. Our engagement photos were posed, centered and romantic, and our wedding photos were angled, offcentered, and candid. I really wish we had the same quality, considering it was Alyssa shooting both. If you actually want an extremely artsy candid style, and choose Alyssa, keep a close eye on her prices. I had to ask her to honor our original price when we increased our package. Thank god she honored it, because I feel as if our photos did not reflect the cost we paid, let alone her new prices. Overall, I would trust Alyssa for family photos, engagement shoots, and maternity photos. However, I would recommend sitting down and making sure that Alyssa's abstract, couple-focused, candid style is actually what you and your partner want for your wedding photos.

Alyssa was spectacular! She made me feel like a princess the day of and really captured the “twilight” feeling I wanted for our pictures!

Alyssa is incredibly talented and we are so happy that we chose her to capture our wedding day. Her shots are gorgeous and she has a special intuition for capturing the emotion in the big and tiny moments through the whole day. Looking through our wedding album is like reliving our day over again and it’s the best gift we could ask for. She is also so fun and friendly while being a great director of our crazy group. We truly enjoyed working with Alyssa and she is amazing at what she does. She is so warm and outgoing that she makes taking pictures with her such a fun and comfortable experience. Problems with our hair and makeup team caused us to run 2 hours behind in our pre-wedding schedule, which was when we were planning on taking all of our wedding party and family photos. Alyssa and her assistant handled it all like pros, kept me calm, and still got us amazing pictures while being cognizant of giving us our time with our guests. We have gotten so many compliments on the quality of our pictures and I couldn't recommend Alyssa more.

I don't even know where to begin... Miss Lyss Photography was professional, friendly, wonderful, and everything in between! We hired Alyssa, along with an additional photographer and videographer, for our wedding on January 25, 2020. We experienced a big surprise when we found out our venue closed, but Alyssa immediately reached out and helped us through the process of finding a venue all over again; sending us links and photos of venues she had visited before. She went above and beyond the responsibilities of a photographer and supported us through that stressful moment in our wedding planning process. When it came to our wedding day, I was anxious about posing and feeling "awkward," but Alyssa made the entire process feel very effortless and comfortable. Once we received our photos, I was in AWE. I always had this small worry in the back of my mind that I wouldn't like the photos because I am a perfectionist and I can be very critical of myself, BUT I can't say one bad thing about my photos - the lighting, the poses, the angles: everything made us look our very best. She knows how to make you feel and look beautiful. I am, and will always be, SO happy that I chose Miss Lyss Photography to capture our special day.

Alyssa was not only one of the most fun and up beat people but an amazing Photographer. I loved working with her for our wedding and engagement shoot. Alyssa was our photographer for our NYE wedding and she was AMAZING. While I was hoping for snow, it rained, and she made sure to get umbrellas for us all and still captured the best pictures. Since it was a NYE wedding, my husband partied a little too hard 😂, and our nighttime photos were not going as planned and I was truly upset. She sent me a few the next day and OMG they are my favorite pictures of the whole day. She made sure everything ran smoothly all day and I cannot thank her enough.

We had a small intimate ceremony at a small, but beautiful chapel venue. Alyssa was so timely and worked her butt off that she captured about 4 hours worth of photos in just 1 hour. I cannot rave enough about Alyssa. We had the pleasure of working with her for our 8/3/19 wedding. Let me start off by saying when I toured and booked my venue as I was sitting in the office waiting to sign my contract, I came upon this book of wedding photographs and fell in love. I needed to know who she was immediately, and later met her at a wedding show. I knew she was my photographer but my now husband felt we should look around, we got out to the car and I was so upset and on the verge of tears, I had to book her right away, I had a serious case of FOMO. Eventually, he gave in and I booked her on the spot. I was so excited to work with her. A few months later she did our engagement photos and I knew that I made the right decision. Alyssa is so easy to work with and she just knows how to put you at ease, as I hate being photographed. We had so much fun and she truly feels like your friend from the start. She is not only friendly but so organized and she totally will scope out a place in advance if she’s not familiar with it. On my wedding day amongst all the chaos and our crazy idea for motorcycle pictures, she seemed to just know how to get that shot, the one you fall in love with. I am so grateful to Alyssa for forging through this journey with me and giving me the moments that I envisioned. I look forward to working with her in the future.

Alyssa and her team were incredible! I can’t begin to explain how happy I am with the entire experience. I had a second shooter and a videographer! I struggled to find a videographer and was convinced I wouldn’t have one until Alyssa brought one onto her team days before my wedding. Let me tell you that Rachel the videographer knocked it out the of Park. We did an engagement session it was laid back and the images were perfection. The entire team was more then accommodating and easy going. I had my wedding images and video within 12 days of my wedding! I will absolutely be booking Alyssa again for a fun fall or winter session.

What an absolute BLAST! Alyssa does great work, makes you feel comfortable, and was a lot of fun during the entire shoot. For never doing a photo shoot, she made the experience so much fun and got us a lot of great shots. Alyssa is absolutely AMAZING, she captures beautiful moments that you can cherish for a lifetime. She is extremely versatile, creative, and up for anything. On our wedding day we also had Erika join her as the second photographer. It was awesome to have two photgraphers capturing different moments. We also encountered roadblocks with our original ceremony location due to flooding caused by a storm and Alyssa was able to still make the ceremony beautiful as our original venue was much more architecturally beautiful. I am so glad we chose Alyssa, you will not regret picking her. She will add an extra "spice" to your wedding :) She even travelled to do our engagement photos on Mackinaw Island!
