The museum was incredible! From the staff to the venue itself. Gorgeous at night and our guests raved about it all night long!!
We recently got married at the Missouri History Museum and it was absolutely magical! When deciding on which venue to select, there are several great options in the St. Louis area ...
- but the History Museum takes the cake for elegance, history and beauty! After touring the venue, we knew it was the one as it provided a mix of history and charm, with plenty of space for our event. The museum, both inside and out are breathtaking—beautifully maintained grounds, elegant interiors, and a warm, inviting atmosphere that impressed all of our guests.
Sophie and Jared were amazing staff to work with, from our final walk through a few months before to execution of our event with some pivots (thanks to the downpouring rain) - they went above and beyond on our wedding day. They were professional, attentive, and genuinely cared about making our day perfect. They worked with all of our vendors to make the day as seamless as possible. If you’re looking for a venue that combines beauty, exceptional service, and a truly unforgettable experience, we highly recommend!
Recently, I got married at the MO History Museum last month on a weekend (8/16/25). I absolutely enjoyed everything about this space! Both of the coordinators, Sophia + Jared were...
such great help in allowing me to execute my special day. A lot of guests never knew you could host such an event like this on a scale. We hosted about 130 people! Everything went smooth sailing. I’d definitely recommend this space to anyone who wants to be different instead of using traditional spaces located in STL.
The Missouri History Museum was a truly special and beautiful wedding reception venue. We were nervous about using a space that was not made to be a reception venue, but Jailan was...
extremely helpful and friendly throughout the process and knew exactly how to transform the space for our purposes. Being able to open the exhibits for our guests was extra special and something that everyone really enjoyed. The space itself is beautiful and has incredible indoor and outdoor spaces to hang out in outside the "Grand Hall"--it is bigger than you think. Would recommend it to anyone.
Just a heads up--we booked both the grand hall and the cafe because we thought we might have more than 250 guests. We ended up having almost exactly that many guests, and that fit the space perfectly--any more, though, and it might not have been as ideal.
Last month we had both our wedding ceremony and reception at the Missouri History Museum and it was absolutely amazing! We worked with Jared, who is fantastic and helped to ensure...
that everything on our special day went smoothly. The History Museum team and Jared went above and beyond and we could not be any happier. The museum is a gorgeous venue and it allowed many of our guests, who were from out of town, to learn a little bit about Missouri’s history. We received many compliments about how beautiful the venue was and how kind all of the event staff were from friends and family. We would highly recommend the Missouri History Museum to all couples who are looking for a wedding venue!
Our wedding at the Missouri History Museum was better than anything I dreamed! I had seen the Museum set up for weddings and knew it is a gorgeous space. We received so many compli...
ments from guests who remarked how they had never thought of the Museum as a venue but were really wowed by how gorgeous it was. The Missouri History Museum team were great to work with! The Museum offers a number of vendors to choose catering from, at a variety of price points. We chose Pasta House Co. I believe we were their first wedding at the Museum space. They were phenomenal to work with. Always responded in a timely fashion and had were so patient with all of our questions and back and forth. We had a full service- plated meal with passed hors d oeuvres. The pasta house team were so professional and the event was elegant, no one would "know it was Pasta House" but why would you not want them to 😉 because we received many compliments from guests remarking how good the food was. We loved variety- with the plated meal our guests got salad, artisan bread, two meats, Brussel sprouts, and pasta con Broccoli- no one is leaving hungry.
Back to the Museum. We made a "grand entrance" coming down the staircase in the Grand hall. Initially I was nervous about walking downstairs (me falling) but I'm so glad we did. It allowed us to briefly chat with guests locates on the second floor balcony, look out over at all our guests below, and I got emotional walking down the stairs and seeing the genuine joy and happiness on our guests faces. I wish I could relive that moment again. The entire Museum team was wonderful, and there is onsite security if you are worried about guests leaving. Parking isnt an issue with two parking lots on either side of the building
If you can splurge I really recommend the waterfall lights for the venue- it adds an amazing touch to an already incredible space. ❤️

ughs and the day of the wedding. Everyone from the event team to security to housekeeping were so friendly, helpful and professional.
The bathrooms are spacious and sparkling clean, which is a major plus. We had hundreds of guests and there was never a wait for the bathroom which is wonderful. And the roomy stalls are something to consider if you have a big dress!
The space itself is beautiful with the stone floors and marble columns. It hardly needs any dressing up, but the events team has options for some awesome lighting and floristry. We went relatively simple with florals and candles for the tables and it looked gorgeous. I can't count the compliments we got from family from all over the country.
The event team work with fantastic vendors and were able to recommend a wonderful caterer and DJ. We already had a photographer and florist, and the museum team were happy to accommodate them as well. All our vendors were given ample time and access to set everything up ahead of time, as well as taking things down after.
On the day of the event team made sure everything ran smoothly and we really had a magical big day.
I can't recommend this place enough, I loved it!
AMAZING!!! Words won’t really capture the magic and beauty that the Missouri History Museum offered us on our special day. Our friends and family were blown away by the space! The ...
added exhibit access was also a hit for guests who could take a break from the dance floor and learn a-bit of Missouri history.
The best part of the experience was the level of professionalism and care the Missouri History Museum provided us. As I am sure you know (or may soon find out) wedding planning, coordinating vendors, communicating changes, can be stressful! The Missouri history museum was by far the most hassle-free piece of our process. The staff and team were wonderful, they made the planning process very smooth and Jared’s suggestions and guidance really helped to bring our vision to life. The staff at the museum made our big day feel special, the team went above and beyond to make sure everything was as it should and in its place. Jared even went so far as to make me tea as I had lost my voice right before I had to say my vows! I mean pretty much family at that point right?!
I think my only regret was not getting them involved in the process sooner, I cannot stress enough how much of an impact they made on making our day incredible.
This is more than just a venue, book as soon as you can, you’ll thank yourself later.
We loved the venue and we knew the moment we walked the Museum that we would have a Spectacular Event. We held both the ceremony and reception and the room swamp was effortless an...
d smooth for all the guest. We received lot's of compliments and questions as to why the History Museum and we thought it was perfect because of the "It's our Time" wedding theme and it was! Also, we were Jared's first wedding and he worked like an old pro! I was a little nervous but he was totally in control and attentive to us and our needs! Thank you!
We had both our wedding ceremony and reception at the Missouri History Museum and could not have had a better experience! Jailan and Jared are incredible! We worked primarily with ...
Jailan and she was so wonderful to work with - she is so organized, friendly, and helpful! They are also incredibly flexible and accommodating - due to an unexpected thunderstorm, we had to move our ceremony inside the day of the wedding. Everyone at the museum worked so hard to make this change completely seamless and stress-free. The venue is absolutely gorgeous and was the perfect size for our 120 guests. We opted for a lighting package through Exclusive (which Jailan made so easy for us to coordinate), and it really transformed the space. Thank you so much, MHM!
Perfect space to have a wedding reception! A caution to future 2023 brides...ask about construction around the beautiful front steps. We got married March 18, 2023 and at one point...
they said our wedding would be impacted by construction and would need a complete rework to the flow of events . They later said it has been pushed to a later date.
My fiancé and I LOVED having our wedding reception at the Missouri History Museum! Rebecca & Jared were so easy to work with and were very on top of everything. I knew we were in g...
ood hands from the start of the process - they even accommodated the few changes we requested within 1-2 weeks of our wedding! I would absolutely recommend this venue to anyone wanting a beautiful, classy, & historical event venue space!
The venue was absolutely beautiful for a wedding reception, but, unfortunately, the fountain in the front of the building was not working on the wedding day. We had planned for an ...
indoor/outdoor cocktail hour, so this was extremely disappointing. Jared and Becca were great to work with, but we had a few communication mix ups, despite multiple email confirmations. I would strongly suggest hiring your own wedding coordinator to ensure all the arrangements take place as planned. Understandably, it is a difficult venue to set up for a reception as the museum doesn't close to the public until 5, so a personal coordinator could ensure some of those details you planned for don't get lost in the shuffle. Overall, with the added lighting treatment, it was a magical and very elegant wedding venue.
Rebecca L was the magician behind our most magical day. We could not have picked a more perfect place to get married. From guiding us every step of the way, to executing the event,...
Rebecca was a true champion for us. She handled our vision with very little oversight. She worked hand in hand with all the vendors and was the driving force behind the most special day.
I truly wish I had the words to describe how perfect of a venue this was for our wedding. Becca was amazing from start to finish! (Even 9 months pregnant!) As a COVID bride, I felt...
like I had exhausted every venue option under the sun. One day I went deep down a pinterest rabbit hole and found MHM! Coming from a budget bride, I could not believe how affordable it was for what we were able to get! You are able to customize almost every part of your wedding and Becca is willing to answer every question and measure anything to make sure that you have all of the answers you need. Our wedding felt like a dream and we honestly could not have picked a better venue. We compared it to Windows On Washington and to be honest, we got a better value and a more luxurious venue. Our guests still tell us what an amazing venue it was and how gorgeous it was!
The history museum was a perfect venue for my 200 guests! Becca did an absolutely amazing job coordinating my other vendors for the big day which was so helpful as I didn’t have a ...

It's an incredible venue and also reasonably priced. Our guests loved it. Rebecca, Jared and all the staff were very friendly, helpful and responsive. The venue is beautiful -- we ...
didn't even need much decor for the ceremony given how gorgeous it already is. It's also cool that our guests could tour the world fair exhibit when they wanted a break during cocktail hour and dance.
Our wedding reception at the Missouri History Museum was everything I could have hoped for. Becca, our event coordinator, was wonderful to work with from start to finish. She was i...
ncredibly organized, a prompt communicator, and was very patient with my many, many questions about ever-changing COVID restrictions. The day of the event, she went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly and helped other vendors with tasks that extended outside of her job description. Additionally, the venue was so beautiful (and so different!). We had 138 guests all seated in the main area, which felt like just the right amount of people in the space. It made for such an elegant, intimate (but fun!), classic St. Louis feel and an absolutely unforgettable evening. Truly can't recommend it enough!
Everything went incredibly smoothly during the event, and Becca was great at communicating with us beforehand through a year of postponements. We are so grateful that we chose the ...

res and mandates. Having our wedding here was so special to me, as I had come to the museum all the time with my grandparents as a kid. Do yourself a favor and book the MHM for your special day!
Rebecca from the history museum and all the other vendors made my night at the museum wedding dreams come true. This place truly comes alive at night and thanks to erin exclusives,...
we had the amazing hanging lights to prove it.
Our ceremony was outside by the water fountain and I would not have had it any other way!!

t how impressed and happy we were with working with Rebecca and with MHM as our venue. From the very first email up through our wedding day, Rebecca was outstandingly responsive, punctual, helpful, professional, friendly, organized, and delivered exactly what was promised (or exceeded expectations). This was especially impressive because I sent her many emails throughout the planning process with lots of questions:). In some ways, it felt like she was too good to be true! We can’t speak highly enough about working with MHM/Rebecca. The museum was the most beautiful space to host our special day and we received countless compliments from guests on how stunning the space was. It looked and felt like we were in a dream! Rebecca/MHM were an absolute delight to work with and I would HIGHLY recommend this venue to anyone without a single reservation. A heartfelt THANK YOU to Rebecca and everyone at the Missouri History Museum for making our wedding day better than we even imaged it to be!
Having to change our reception venue to the Missouri History Museum due to COVID postponements was honestly the best thing to happen to our day! From day 1, Rebecca was amazing to ...
work with and kept us up to date on all of the changing restrictions with COVID. She was quick to respond and answer questions and helped make sure everything went smoothly. The room and museum are so impressive on their own, so any details you add only up the wow factor. We had 135 guests all seated in the main floor and that felt like a great # of people (even though I know it can seat many more). They were super gracious in letting us set up early and Rebecca even came in a day early so they could install the lighting. We got so many compliments from our guests on the venue and are so happy with our choice!

sive and easy to work with. Planning a wedding with restrictions due to COVID was difficult but Rebecca made it so easy for us. MHM is without a doubt the best reception venue!

ing due to the pandemic) here. It was absolutely stunning and we had so many guests compliment the beautiful venue and being able to look up and see the Spirit of St. Louis above us while we ate. Rebecca was an absolute dream to work with and I appreciated her promptness in emails to make sure this wedding day was exactly what I imagined it to be. If you are looking for a beautiful, unique and memorable venue, LOOK NO FURTHER! Book the museum now!!!

points. Several of our guests told us they thought it was such a cool spot for a wedding. Rebecca was fantastic to work with and helped us out a lot on the day of the event as well.
The MHM was the perfect venue for my special day! I’m not sure who the preferred caterer is for the location now, but the venue is beautiful!!
Wish I could give 4.5 stars!
I had my ceremony and reception at the history museum. We had a beautiful wedding! All of our guests loved everything and even said it was the most b...
eautiful wedding they have been to, or that the food was the best they had ever had! The catering/wedding planning department was going through some changes while we were planning, so we were dealing with multiple people, and through that, some of our details got lost, but small enough to where we were the only ones to notice. The venue did stop bar service earlier than we discussed and ran out of vodka, a little frustrating. Needless to say, it was the most unforgettable day, beautiful venue, and the food is absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend!
The History Museum was the perfect venue for our ceremony and reception. We opted to do our ceremony outside with the columns and the fountains, and it was absolutely beautiful. It...
was a little bright at ~6pm, but I would not have changed anything. Fair warning, there is usually a banner display for the current exhibit up on the columns. You don't have any control over it and they won't take it down - but it's high enough that a good photographer won't have any issues getting great ceremony photos while avoiding it. And honestly we barely even noticed it, and it definitely didn't detract from our amazing ceremony location.
The reception inside was gorgeous. The best part is that since it's a museum, it's already beautiful - no need to decorate! All we provided were centerpieces, table numbers, and a cupcake stand. We also opted for the light package, which looks pretty amazing in pictures.
The staff at Butler's Pantry, the exclusive caterer for the History Museum, were wonderful to work with. The planners we worked with responded quickly to all of our emails and provided us with everything we needed. They were so easy and fun to work with, we really had a great time planning everything. And the food! Butler's Pantry is an amazing caterer, and the food was astounding! I think half our guests went through the buffet a second time, and we were seriously still talking about the food the next day.
All around, we could not have been happier with everything at the History Museum. Our ceremony and reception were beautiful, the food was amazing, and everything went as smoothly as possible.

aying it was the coolest, most gorgeous venue they'd ever seen. Might not be the cheapest in St. Louis, but if you can swing it, GO FOR IT!

ur time spent planning more enjoyable, leaving you stress-free and confident to move on to other things that really make them stand out. The MHM is one of those standouts... a true piece of GOLD. I highly recommend Coleen. I worked with her from the start and she took care of everything (and boy do I mean everything). MHM is professional, organized, extremely friendly, GORGEOUS, insanely fun (especially with a band-the sound was excellent!), and the *FOOD* from Butler's Pantry is to die for. I'm still hearing about how good our food was! We ended the night with a late night snack, which was so delicious! Parking is also excellent for guests as well- I know ours enjoyed that! I honestly can't say enough good things about our experience. The MHM blew us away from day 1 and continued to go above and beyond on our wedding day, executing everything flawlessly. I would choose them for my wedding day over and over again.
The Missouri History Museum is clearly beautiful and elegant. What's even better than a perfect venue? An expert catering and events company like Butler's Pantry running the show. ...
We worked with Coleen Donovan from booking to finish (we're now married and very happy). Coleen was attentive, professional, and responsive. She also has a fun and warm demeanor. Butler's Pantry has an outstanding reputation and they didn't disappoint. Linens were perfectly pressed and placed, bars were set up beautifully and practically, and the food was outstanding! Each and every staff member we encountered was welcoming and kind. Missouri History Museum was the perfect place for our wedding ceremony and reception and we can't thank Butler's Pantry enough for making everything look good and taste good! Can we do it again next weekend?

ator at the museum. Coleen Donovan's work made the planning and the actual wedding day totally stress-free and worry-free. The Butler's Pantry handled the catering, flowers, all the set up. The food was delicious, the flowers for the wedding party and the flowers on the tables were beautiful. Kudos to all the staff on total professionalism.
I had my ceremony and reception here and it was amazing. The staff is very helpful and the place is gorgeous. Highly recommend it.

hing ran so smoothly. We received so many compliments from out of state guests about how nice everything was. We did a buffet and the food was good. You really have to just trust them if you go this route because the brunch they offer isn't much help as far as taste testing.

y paid off. We had such a great first impression when we met with Butler's Pantry coordinator, Liz (who, unfortunately, moved out of state) that everything felt right. My husband and I are such big fans of St. Louis and Missouri that the museum's architecture made the perfect backdrop for our ceremony and reception. We didn't have to add too much else! While we did have a slight hiccup 40 days before the wedding while they were transitioning us to a new coordinator, Coleen jumped right in to make us feel comfortable and take the reigns. Her and the Butler's Pantry staff took our decor and transformed the venue to match our style. Our guests loved the venue and thought it was beautiful and really enjoyed having the World's Fair gallery open during cocktail hour. The in-house catering from Butler's Pantry was really the talk of the night, and while my husband and I thought about doing a plated dinner, we were glad that we went with a buffet style. They tuck the tables away so they aren't disruptive, and our guests loved the food! It was high quality, delicious food and our guests were happy that they were actually full after a wedding dinner. Most of our compliments came from the food! Overall the Missouri History/Butler's Pantry was a dream of a venue and a fantastic place to have your ceremony and reception. The communication from the Butler's Pantry team is top-notch and the venue itself is classic, iconic, and unique. (And we can visit it anytime we want to say "Hey, we got married here!"

ns. I highly recommend Butler's Pantry and cannot say enough about Ms. Melody Buckner. She was a joy to work with and accommodating to all of my requests and needs she had control over.
As a bride you go through a lot of research and planning for your special day. During this process you have clear images in your head of what you imagine the venue to look like the day of your wedding. When I finally chose the venue of the Missouri History Museum I had those images.
My selection of the MHM venue was based on its amazing architectural structures inside and out. It was the perfect place to take photographs before, during and after the wedding. Unfortunately, there is no guarantee that the museum will look the same on your wedding day. What I grew to learn over the year of planning, the museum has different exhibits in which the museum likes to market through various banners inside and outside of the museum. I understand what the museum is trying to do but I strongly feel they deface the beauty and value of the venue. This is my strongest warning to all brides if you are interested in this venue - find out what exhibits are scheduled during your wedding and how the museum plans to market those exhibits. When I booked the venue there weren't any banners on the outside of the building. The day of my wedding there were banners all over the front - not the image I had in my head for my wedding pictures.
Also, find out if there are any other events planned for the day of your wedding - inside and out. The day of my wedding there was an event outside of the museum where there were three buses, a stage, sound systems, tables etc. in front of the museum. My wedding started at 6:30 p.m. and the event was over at 6 p.m. which made it impossible to take pre wedding photos in front of the building that I chose because of the architecture.
All in all, I had an amazingly beautiful wedding. Butler's Pantry did a fantastic job with the food - everyone loved, and the service - professional, pleasant and polite!
Our wedding ceremony and reception were absolutely perfect and everything we wanted! We had both our ceremony and reception at the History Museum. Not only was it a gorgeous venu...
e, we were able to capture the intimacy of a wedding and strong sense of family both of our family have.
Butler's Pantry does the catering. You cannot go wrong with BP. My guests are still raving about the mac n' cheese bar. Melody was our coordinator and I cannot say enough good things about her! Melody took care of EVERY detail for us, leaving my groom and I stress-free. It was definitely more pricey than we were looking to pay, but it was worth every penny---because Melody took are of everything leading up to and especially the day of, leaving myself, my groom and mom stress free! I would highly recommend the History Museum and Butler's Pantry (even if you don't like the HM, hire BP!)
We had our rehearsal dinner at the Missouri History Museum and it was PERFECT. The space was great! For our cocktail hour, our guests loved mingling up by the museum, exploring and...
enjoying the views. When it was time for dinner, the space where the tables were was intimate-- it gave the feeling everyone was at the same table, enjoying the meal together. The bartenders and service staff were very professional and polite, and the food (catered by Bixby’s), was delicious. My husband and I are big history buffs, so this little personal uniqueness coupled with the classiness and elegance of the space was exactly what we were looking for. We got a lot of compliments on the whole evening, and I’d recommend this venue to anyone! Thank you Missouri History Museum staff!
We got married here in September and it was absolutely perfect!!

um.
Besides that - the staff is amazing!! We worked with Samantha who is so friendly and professional. She made everything very simple and about a stress free as wedding planning can be. On the wedding day -the waiters and bartenders were great.
Lastly - the food was great. we had about 190 guests so we were worried about the food for such a large group - but it was just as good as when we went for our two person tasting. We had the sea bass and the steak.....and our guests loved it!
I would highly recommend the Missouri History Museum and Butler's Pantry for your wedding venue!

tail-oriented and quick to communicate. She responded to my infinite emails with amazing turn-around time.
The venue itself was gorgeous. The food was amaaaaazing and everything came together perfectly. We had a live band. We were concerned about the acoustics but the sound quality was great.
If I could have my wedding all over again, there's absolutely nowhere else I would have it. I can't recommend it highly enough.

e middle of the dance floor, which was up near the front part of the atrium. I was a little worried that the dance floor was going to be too long and narrow but it ended up working out perfectly. Additionally, the coordinator at the museum, Bridget, was super nice and very helpful. I cannot recommend this place enough! The one drawback was that it was pretty expensive and they only allow one caterer, however the food was absolutely fantastic, we had a buffet and many of our guests remarked how good the food was.

and they have Butler's Pantry as their in house caterer so it's a pretty seamless process using this venue. Highly recommend!
The History Museum is striking upon entrance. The building and front room, is what drew me to this venue to have my reception. We rented the front room, but were basically given th...
e entire bottom level of the building. I could not have been happier with how everything turned out. The lighting, tall pillars, life size replica of the Spirit of St. Louis, and the giant monument of Thomas Jefferson all bring a regal feel to the room while also working together to make the room very aesthetically pleasing for events such as a wedding reception. The service was top notch, and I would recommend this venue to anyone looking to have an elegant, carefree wedding close to the city located in Forest Park. The fountain out front makes for amazing picture as well!
It was classic and unique, with lots of space. Staff was great to work with.;The acoustics are tricky, as the floor and columns are all granite/marble.
Unique space. Beautiful outdoor courtyard. Fun for pictures.;Difficult space to work with sound/acoustics. Make sure the band/DJ has good experience with the venue.
