We cater to the do it yourself bride. The venue cost of $5,000 is for three days to allow you to set-up, have an amazing time, and then break down the next day. We have been helping couples stay within their budget since 2013!

Mitchell Grove is the definition of DIY wedding! Will and Julie, the owners of this beautiful and majestic space, were communicative, graceful, and very welcoming throughout the entire year of me planning my wedding. I cannot stress this enough, if you love crafting and DIY’ing, then this is the place for your special day! They have a lending closet where you can create your vision for your day, and I highly recommend using it! They have a lot of space to work with, seasonal flowers throughout the venue that really compliment YOU, your guests, and your vision. Julie helped give me some ideas along the way, and Will was very responsive to all of my inquiries along the way. They truly care about making sure that your special day comes to life. After my wedding, I spent a couple trips looking for my vow book and some crafts I misplaced, and they tried looking for them for me and let me come over to look for them myself. This simple gesture was really a cherry on top of my experience with them.
I performed my first civil ceremony for my friend in mid August of 2021 during the pandemic. The venue was perfect for the precautions required. The staff was helpful and definitely did their very best to make sure my friends had the best celebration! I would recommend this venue!
We went to almost every venue in the area and nothing compared to the value and overall comfort of Mitchell grove. They were very accommodating from day one and really went out of their way to make everything perfect for us, something you wouldn't expect from a DIY venue! Will and Julie welcomed us as often as we needed to the property to plan and take engagement photos, we even went home with a handful of apples every time. The renovations to the property are outstanding, including a brand new bar in the main hall. One of the main reasons I chose the venue was the peace of mind of having the day before to set up, the day of, and the day after to clean (who wants to worry about cleaning on their wedding day). This process was a breeze with Will and Julie always ready to answer a question or advise us and our family during a few, very busy days. Hands down best wedding venue in Humboldt, highly recommend!
We got married at Mitchell Grove in July 2017. It was an amazing venue then, and the owners continue to make improvements. One of the few places in the region with indoor and outdoor space, and there are so many ways to arrange things on the property. We really appreciated that we could have our dogs at the ceremony and cannot say enough about how much the owners work to make sure your visions are realized. Very accommodating and respectful. Oh, and the grounds are beautiful!
It is beautiful apple orchard tucked away in the redwoods. The couple who own the place are happy to assist in making recommendations and help you customize your wedding to suit your taste. They provide an archway, tables, areas to searve and eat food, an outdoor bar, a deck and gazebo. The cost is reasonable and you can choose to make cider from apples fresh off the trees when in season.
Mitchell Grove is a perfect venue for an Orchard wedding. The grounds were beautiful and well manicured and the apple trees look great year round. Will and Julie are lovely people and are very accommodating and helpful! They put in the extra effort to make our wedding as perfect as it could be. We loved this venue!
