Mixology is a wedding DJ company based in Charlotte, NC and serving all of the Carolinas. Owner Roman Brown became a DJ at the age of 16. In 2017, he decided that the time had come to start his own company. Roman believed that life's special occasions deserve nothing less than the very best music and entertainment. He made it his mission to give couples throughout the Carolinas a fun, club-like wedding party experience.
Mixology is the result. Roman has put together a team of experienced and talented DJs who share his passion for great music and quality entertainment. Every member of his team has at least five years of wedding experience. They know that good planning makes for great fun. They spend countless hours preparing for each event, and though they always use the very best equipment, they never forget to bring backups, just in case.
The Mixology team believes that your special day is too important to leave to chance, and they are determined to go above and beyond to ensure that everything runs smoothly and according to plan. Roman was the best DJ we could have asked for! We wanted a DJ who would mix the songs so that everyone stayed on the dance floor and he definitely delivered on that! Speaking of dance floor the brown and white checkered dance floor was the perfect addition to our day, EVERYONE raved about it and it just added extra class to our wedding aesthetic! It was super easy to make sure our DJ was prepared with all of our song requests and wedding timeline using the app that he provides! I really think I saw everyone on the dance floor the whole night, it was the perfect day! We are so thankful that we chose mixology and Roman to be our wedding DJ!

Roman was insanely good. I was very picky about who was going to DJ my wedding as I wanted someone who could feel the dance floor and mix the music, did that to a tee. Wouldn’t go with anyone else for an event ever again. Will always be Roman.

Could not recommend Mixology enough. Roman was so helpful throughout all of the planning and Eric (DJ Midas) was an incredible DJ. The vibes were immaculate and everyone had such a wonderful time thanks to DJ Midas keeping the party going. We are so grateful to have been able to work with this team for our special day. Between fair pricing, consistent communication, and all-around outstanding service and support, we couldn’t have asked for better. We also had a photo booth at our reception through Mixology and it was a huge hit!!! Everyone loved it and Roman was great at working with us to make the template perfect for our big day. We booked Mixology over a year before our wedding and worked with Roman, from the start, he was professional, helpful and completely understood what we wanted. I would text him randomly with thoughts or questions during the planning process and he always got back to me asap!
Jeff was our DJ on our wedding day and he knocked it out of the park, we had talked a few days before our wedding and he truly gave us exactly what we wanted. When talking with both Roman and Jeff, I expressed my concerns on wanting to keep the party going. And that is exactly what happened!! Our guests are still talking about how much fun they had and it’s been a month. The Photobooth was a hit and I LOVED the cold sparklers!! Mixology is it if you’re looking for amazing, reliable and incredible DJs!! They do not disappoint!!

I recently had the pleasure of meeting Roman with Mixology when I was photographing a wedding at Chimney Pond Farm, and he was so great to work with, super easy going which I know helped alleviate any stress for the couple. You could tell he really cared about the couple’s music preferences and the choices kept everyone singing and having a great time on the dance floor! The energy was so fun that I even put my camera down and did the worm for everyone at one point. If you’re looking for a DJ who truly pays attention to what matters to you and creates a night that all of your people really enjoy and will never forget, Roman and Mixology are the best choice!

We couldn’t be happier with DJ Mikey! From start to finish, he was punctual, organized, and incredibly easy to work with. He worked seamlessly with our vendor team and coordinator so there was zero hassle on us, and everything flowed effortlessly throughout the day.
His attention to detail was outstanding—he had the perfect music to keep the dance floor alive from start to finish, and he knew exactly when to play the right songs at the right moments. As an MC, he was confident, clear, and fun, reading the room perfectly and keeping the entire night energized.
On top of all that, DJ Mikey was incredibly outgoing, personable, and genuinely invested in making our night unforgettable. We’ve had so many guests rave about how amazing he was—and we couldn’t agree more.

DJ Chase from Mixology was the hit of our entire wedding! We’ve been to a ton of weddings, but we’ve never seen a dance floor this packed from start to finish. His mixes were SO good — everyone from our friends to our 94-year-old grandma was out there dancing!
We’re big into the EDM scene, so Mixology was a non-negotiable for us, and they absolutely delivered. Even with our extra-long “do-not-play” list (which Roman joked was their longest ever), they nailed every single transition and kept the energy high all night. Between the cold sparks, CO₂ cannon, and Chase’s ability to read the crowd perfectly, no one wanted to leave the dance floor — not even us. We didn’t want to cut our cake because the party was THAT good! Still getting texts from guests saying it was the best DJ they’ve ever heard.

Hiring Roman as my DJ was easily the best wedding decision I could have made. We had an amazing day and we got so many compliments but EVERY SINGLE PERSON I spoke to told me how FANTASTIC my DJ was! Everyone danced all night, there were no awkward slow parts of the night, and every song that came on got me excited. The Photo Booth was a HUGE hit! We took almost 800 pictures and I LOVED looking through them all after the wedding. The cold sparks gave me my dream WWE feel for my reception entrance and everything combined made my night perfect!!!! Roman was so nice and accommodating, I thoroughly enjoyed my night that I planned for so long all thanks to Roman and Mixology!!!!! I you don’t book him, you’re dumb.

We had DJ Mikey for our wedding and let me tell you these guys are AMAZING. Not only did they help us with last minute changes but they kept the party bumping all night! Our guests still rave about how good the music was throughout the night. Lastly a big THANK YOU to them accommodating a last minute performance and blowing it out of the water! Not only did they bring the correct sound system but they sourced specialized equipment last minute! If you are looking for a DJ look no further than these guys and go with the full package, the photo booth, the lighting and CO2 cannon were HUGE hits with our family and friends!

We had an idea of what we wanted music wise and couldn't quite fill out the entire timeline, DJ Mikey read our minds basically and filled in the gaps beautifully!

Mixology DJ was so amazing! They were great communicators, easy to work with, and super flexible in meeting our needs and making sure our day had the best soundtrack. They even help with setting up amplification for some family members to play and sing our first dance song, which was one of my favorite memories of the wedding.

I have nothing but great things to say about Roman Brown! Everyone has been raving about him after our wedding last night. He took our vision and exceeded our expectations! Our dream DJ for sure, we asked for a lot of mixing ( big booty style) music and he DELIVERED! He is laid back and keeps on schedule. Just really great to work with! I heard guests saying they wished they knew about him when they were picking DJs for their weddings in the past. Roman DJ'd our March 2025 wedding and we cannot say enough wonderful things about him. I was my own wedding planner and he was so flexible and communicative as we made updates to timing and hours needed. We really wanted our reception to feel like a party and oh boy, did Roman deliver. Our dance floor was full the entire night!! Multiple guests complimented our choice of DJ because he really knew how to gauge the vibe based off of the short must play list that we gave him and keep the transitions and great music coming!! He was on time/early to our ceremony and was fully set up and willing to coordinate with our officiant with the sound and timing. Roman took the lead on running the dance floor but didn't hesitate to ask our opinion on timing when he thought that is what was best. I've never had so much fun dancing at a wedding! If I ever have a need for a DJ in the future, or any friends ever need to find their wedding DJ, I will 100% recommend Roman and Mixology!! Thank you!!!

Roman and Jeff did an amazing job in getting the music & phone booth ready for our wedding. We planned the wedding in 3mo so there wasn’t a whole lot of time to get everything organized, but Roman and Jeff executed perfectly. We got the opportunity to have DJ Mikey on site for a wedding at our venue, Brentwood Farms, just a few days ago, and WOW! Since the moment he arrived on site, early and promptly. He was full of energy and already so much fun! We clicked immediately, and I knew it would be a wonderful evening with him! His set up was beautiful, his sound was on point, and his playlist joined several cultures and backgrounds together with a full dance floor. We stayed in communication the whole night to ensure that the evening was as seamless as possible. If we could have DJ Mikey at venue every weekend, we would absolutely love that. I would recommend him to anyone getting married or planning an event, I promise he will bring the hype and fun energy, all the while, being a very professional wedding vendor.

Roman DJ'ed our party and did an excellent job. The planning was easy with his portal and app that allowed us to add music and preferences for each phase of the wedding. We felt confident that Roman would deliver what was promised and he did! The music was modern and fun and had the dance floor packed the ENTIRE dancing portion of the reception (2.5 hours). What more could you ask for? If you're looking for a modern club-style DJ to get the dance floor moving, Mixology is a rock solid choice.

Mixology is the best wedding DJ around!! They kept the party going from start to end and the photo booth was a hit!! They were so easy to work with and did an amazing job blending our music taste with songs they recommended for our group’s vibe. From the ceremony to cocktail hour to our sparkler exit after the reception, all of the music was perfect. I had some specific timing requests that they incorporated perfectly, and they even worked with me to include a voice recording from my grandparents who weren’t able to make it to the wedding. They were professional, punctual, and so fun to work with. If you’re on the fence about booking a DJ, look no further. We 100% recommend Mixology!!!

We had DJ Sudz/ Jacob dj’ing at our wedding, and truly we cannot sing his praises enough. He did a fantastic job with both the ceremony and cocktail hour setups. He was super communicative with us and did a great job checking in, and handled any changes to the schedule we had with ease!
Additionally - the app they use made the process so straightforward and clear - I can’t tell you how many people I showed, I really loved the organization of it all.
As for his actual dj’ing.. he was amazing. We felt incredibly at ease and confident after our check in with him, abs were still so blown away. He kept the vibes incredibly high and the dance floor stayed packed through the evening! The dance floor actually fully shifted on its base from all the dancing that took place. She did an amazing job of finding the right vibe for us, music, wise, and spliced in any requests seamlessly. almost all of our guests have commented on how amazing the DJ was, and have asked for the contact information for Mixology. We truly have no complaints, he did an amazing job and I would recommend him to anyone I know who is getting married in the area!

We had DJ Giffdid for our wedding and he was awesome! He kept the party alive and our dance floor was full all night! He kept the crowd hyped up and even joined us on the dance floor a few times! I had some pretty specific request for my wedding and he played everything as it should! He was also very easy to talk to! His assistant was great for the day of and helped take song request! Oh wow, where to begin. My partner and we’re looking for a DJ who understood our love for EDM. We vetted several people, and settled on Mixology. We ended up with Roman as our DJ. We had a requested a polka to open up the dance floor, and the way he transitioned a polka into the dance music for the evening was AMAZING! The mixing was insanely good, and our friends were on the floor the entire night. I stayed dancing in my gown the whole time even though it was 90 degrees out. Roman was professional, fun, and obviously loves what he does. We had so many compliments throughout the night on how great our DJ was. The other highlight was that he amazing with my daughter and nephew, and let them have a chance to see what being a DJ was all about. I could not recommend a vendor enough. A must have vendor for any occasion!!!

DJ Mikey was absolutely what I was looking for in a DJ for my wedding! I loved the ease of the app used to plan the music for the wedding. While it would have been easy to just plug and play from that, Mikey spent so much time going over all of our choices and really trying to understand the vibe we were going for. We felt so comfortable with and confident in him because of the time he dedicated to us. He knew it was really important to us to have an active dance floor and he delivered! Although we originally thought we were booking Roman, we found out about three weeks before that DJ Jacob would be running our event—and he was awesome! He brought an elegant setup, party lights, his own table, and portable speakers so he could cover both our cocktail hour and reception in different areas of the venue seamlessly.
The music was amazing—it really felt like a club, not a playlist. He nailed the vibe for our millennial/Gen Z crowd, especially with early 2010s hits. Emcee moments were smooth and well-timed. One small note: Mixology also rents dance floors, which we didn’t know until after booking with someone else. It would’ve been super convenient to bundle that with the DJ. Overall, incredible energy and execution!

DJ Micky from Mixology DJ Entertainment was hands down one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! We had a planning call and he was incredibly professional, attentive, and genuinely excited to help bring our vision to life. He took the time to really understand the vibe we wanted for the day and made sure every detail was locked in. We gave quite a few must-play songs but then gave him freedom to fill in the rest of the playlist. He matched the vibe perfectly and the entire playlist flowed so seamlessly.
The dance floor was packed the entire night. Every single guest — from our friends to our family — everyone was up and dancing, and the energy never dipped. He read the room perfectly, kept the momentum going, and made sure everyone was having the time of their lives.
I also really appreciated how flexible and easygoing he was, especially with a few last-minute changes I made on the day of. He rolled with everything so seamlessly and made it all feel effortless.

We had the pleasure of working with Mikey from DJ Mixology for our wedding, and he was absolutely incredible! We chose him because he had previously DJ'd two of our friends' weddings, and the guests couldn't stop raving about him. Mikey did not disappoint! From the start, he was so kind, easy to work with, and really took the time to understand our vision for the day. He made our dancefloor LIT.
We rented the cold spark machines, which added such a beautiful touch to our photos. They were absolutely stunning and created the perfect atmosphere. We also had the photobooth, which was a huge hit! The backdrop and props were fantastic, and we were even sent a repository of all the guest photos taken—such a great touch!
I honestly can't recommend Mikey with DJ Mixology enough. He truly made our wedding day unforgettable, and I will definitely be referring him to all my friends. Thank you, Mikey, for making our celebration so special!

We can't thank Roman enough for making our wedding reception an unforgettable celebration! From the very first song to the last he had everyone on the dance floor—literally, no one left! The energy was incredible, and the music was perfectly curated to keep the party going all night long! Our guests couldn't stop complimenting how much fun they had, and we were thrilled to see people of all ages dancing and enjoying themselves. Roman created an atmosphere that was exactly what we wanted for our big day making our wedding the very best. We only wished it lasted longer!! Highly recommend to anyone looking to create an epic party atmosphere!

We used Mixology for our fall 2024 wedding and they were amazing! Roman was a phenomenal DJ/MC and I heard from so many guests that he was one of the best DJs they've experienced! There were a few tricky cues for songs during the ceremony and he executed them perfectly. We can't recommend Roman enough!!!

Mixology exceeded all our expectations. Roman kept the energy high and seamlessly mixed all our favorite songs, ensuring we never left the dance floor. Adding CO2 cannons to our "Hora Loca" was a brilliant choice that took the party to the next level. Planning with Roman was effortless—he was a true pleasure to work with from start to finish. What we loved most was how he created a club-like atmosphere, not just playing a playlist, but truly reading the crowd and delivering the perfect vibe. Roman and Mixology know their craft, and we cannot recommend them highly enough!

We are so happy to have had Roman as the DJ for our daughter's wedding. He was easy to work with and excellent in his communication and flexibility. His wedding software was also easy to use. My daughter had a smaller wedding and wanted to be sure people danced, and he kept them on the dance floor all night long! We would highly recommend Mixology!

Roman was the absolute best to work with! He was attentive leading up to the wedding, organized and communicative. He did a phenomenal job with the music, all of our guests LOVED him and had so much fun dancing the night away. We had a very small wedding (40 guests), but the dancefloor was packed! I would highly recommend Roman.

Roman did a fantastic job as a DJ, he kept the party going and made sure our guests had a great time. We had something small go with our photo-booth, but Roman went above and beyond to make this right and it didn't impact our guests' experience. Our guests enjoyed the photo-booth so much and we were glad he was able to provide it, 10/10 would recommend the photo-booth! Roman was so helpful through the planning process, being communicative and helpful with suggestions. The wedding timeline software he gave us access to was also extremely useful. Don't hesitate to book Roman for your next event!

My husband and I recently got married this June 2024 and we used Mixology for our wedding DJ. Roman did such an amazing job both at the ceremony and the reception. He was professional and arrived early to make sure he had his equipment set up and ready for use. Roman is super talented and mixed all of our favorite songs to dance to. My husband and I were so happy we chose Mixology for our wedding Dj. We danced the night away! Our friends and family continue to tell us how amazing Roman is. Do yourself a favor and hire Mixology as your Dj for your event or wedding!

ROMAN WAS AMAZING!!! The DJ was one of the most important vendors for us since we had a smaller wedding but still wanted a lot of people dancing. Roman was so easy to work with from the start and has a very laid back yet super professional attitude that made the experience great. He played the best music and had so many people dancing. There was literally not one bad or just okay song, everything he played was insane and made the night so much fun! At the reception our guests kept telling us how amazing our DJ was and I was like I KNOW! He is the absolute best. Even a couple days after our wedding, people are still telling us how great he was and how much fun they had dancing. His timing and placement of songs is unmatched. Out of all the weddings we've been to, Roman was the best DJ and we were sooo lucky to have him as our wedding DJ! If you are considering booking with Mixology just do it, you will not regret it!

From our first meeting, it was clear that DJ Roman is a true professional. He arrived early to set up and was dressed impeccably, adding to the overall elegance of our event. Their attention to detail and ability to read the crowd was impressive, ensuring the dance floor was always filled. They were fantastic in terms of communication. They were always prompt in responding to emails and calls, and they took the time to understand our music preferences and the vibe we wanted for our wedding. They also provided helpful suggestions and were flexible with any last-minute changes we had.
He also provided a Photo Booth which was a HUGE hit with our guests. This was one of the best parts of the wedding.
Overall, Roman exceeded all our expectations and played a significant role in making our wedding day unforgettable. If you’re looking for a DJ who is professional, communicative, and delivers high-quality service at a great value, look no further. We highly recommend DJ Roman!

We had a great experience with Mixology for our wedding and are happy to give them four stars. Their communication was excellent—Roman always responded quickly and was incredibly kind and professional. They were extremely flexible and easy to work with, accommodating several changes we made along the way, which we really appreciated.
The photo booth was a big hit with our guests. The package deal of the photo booth and DJ was a great value and helped us save money. We also appreciated their thorough forms, which were very reassuring during the planning process. The photo booth attendant was phenomenal, going above and beyond by assisting our wedding director during set-up. Everyone found him kind and helpful.
While the DJ struggled to be heard at times and our music selection wasn't fully followed, we believe the acoustics of the venue played a role in this, and it was something we couldn't have known until the day of. Despite this, we enjoyed our overall experience with Mixology and would recommend their services for their professionalism, value, and flexibility.
