Coming from a total music snob(myself), Ephruim was hands down the DJ to exceed every expectation. I had a meeting with him on our friends/family style for music.. and he had us mastered right out the gate. I had to laugh as we are hardcore dancers and our party was exhausted bc he never played a song where they could sit down. Phenomenal! Nearly a year later, I'm still getting calls from friends and family telling me that my wedding was the best one they've ever been to. I attribute that to Ephraim, the best wedding DJ in the world. He has the ability to read the energy. My husband is Jewish and I'm Christian and I was a little nervous about preserving our family traditions, but Ephraim blended our families together seamlessly. We were married in barn which is a nontraditional venue that had a few hiccups due to rain, but the DJ was something I never had to give a second thought to, which is a big deal considering how much planning goes into a wedding. Ephraim did both my ceremony and reception, all I had to do was pick out the song I walked down the aisle to along with our first dance and Ephraim took care of the rest. We hired Mixxin Djs and had Ephraim as our DJ. There were some communication issues in the couple weeks prior to our wedding but by the time the week of the wedding arrived all the issues were resolved and he was on top of everything. He did an amazing job the day of as he was not only our reception DJ but also did the music for the ceremony and cocktail hour. He played the songs we requested (we gave him a list of songs prior to the wedding) but also played them in a way that kept our guests on the dance floor. Our monogrammed name was awesome and the up lighting was beautiful. We also had our first dance on the "cloud" (dry ice) which was super amazing. He interacted with our guest when needed and everyone loved him. All in all he did a fantastic job and we'd recommend to everyone!

Working with Mixxin DJs was one of the BEST decisions we made for our wedding day. Ephriam was professional, fun, and the best DJ we have ever experienced. He took the time to have a detailed phone call prior to the wedding, to understand our taste in music and expectations for the evening. He had the crowd dancing the entire night, it was never once dead on the dance floor. By the end of the night he ran out of business cards because so many of our friends asked for his information so they could use him in the future. Trust me, hire them!

We worked with Jason and let me tell you he was AMAZING! Jason made us feel so comfortable throughout the whole process - he knew exactly what he was doing and how to do it great. He always replied quickly - kept in touch and took all we requested into consideration and had great advice when we needed it. He met in person with us for lunch a week before the menu and we went through our whole timeline. He ensured us that if things are to change or not go exactly to schedule he will take care of it and everything will flow and be perfect - he was right! He knew exactly how to read the crowd - played a variety of mixes and always had people on the dance floor. His set up had some lights and great sound. I couldn't have asked for a better DJ and would recommend to anyone for their event.

We chose Mixxin DJs for our wedding after encountering them at the Novi Bridal Expo at the Suburban Collection Showplace. In our opinion, Jason and Ephraim did a fantastic job with everything provided - the music, lighting, and photo booth. Outside of the planned dances (father-daughter, etc), we let them handle the music and mood for the rest of the evening since that is why we hired a DJ - and they absolutely killed it. Kept it classy and appropriate during dinner and really got the dance floor going for the remainder of the evening. All in all, great experience working with Mixxin DJs and would recommend and use again for any other DJ services in the future.

My wife and I were fortunate enough to go through Mixxin Djs and have Ephraim DJ our wedding in August 2019. He was absolutely incredible. I can't tell you how many people told us, both during and after the wedding, how awesome the DJ was. Ephraim from Mixxin DJ’s was seriously the easiest vendor to work with! He made everything so easy and I felt so comfortable going into the wedding. The dance floor was full the entire night! We had an amazing experience working with Ephraim from Mixin DJs. He met with us multiple times prior to help us prepare for the vibe of the wedding and get to know us better. The music was everything we could have hoped so and more! Everyone was dancing the night away from all age groups. He also added a great light with our names on the dance floor and included songs that we requested. The photo booth was also amazing. Everyone loved being able to text it to your phone and have a tangible copy. All in all we were so impressed with his services and would recommend Ephraim and Mixin DJs to anyone in the Greater Lansing area.

Ephriam was our DJ for not only my wedding, but then also for my sister's wedding one year later. I have never been to another wedding where the dance floor was packed nearly the entire time. He listens to your recommendations to make sure he isnt playing anything you dont want to hear but then also reads the crowd after some time to get a feel for the genre or type of music people are feeling on the dance floor. He blends the songs so that there is never an ounce of silence and flows everything together. I spent nearly my entire reception on the dance floor with my friends and family and i can say i did the exact same thing at my sisters with all of the other guests at both. He is kind and easy to work with. He even created a mashup of songs that i wanted put together for the last dance i had with my dad, and it was epic. HIGHLY recommend. PS i had about 6 different people from my wedding ask for his information even weeks after my wedding had passed.

Ephraim was fantastic from start to finish. He was quick to respond and put me at ease during the planning process. He offered to help with our caterers when they arrived late and kept the dance floor full the entire night!

Unfortunately, our experience with Mixxin DJ’s was very negative. We hired Mixxin DJs for our wedding ceremony and reception. There were several issues throughout the night, but there was one recurring, fundamental problem: the DJ did not listen to us. ONE. The DJ turned what was meant to be a memorable highlight from our wedding into taboo. At our final meeting before the wedding, I brought all of the information the DJ would need relating to the formal dances, etc., which included the following: Bride & Groom First Dance: Finesse Bruno Mars feat. Cardi B [CLEAN] DJ: Finesse - you guys are going to be a fun couple, huh? Us: We've been practicing our dance for weeks! Fast forward to our reception: (1) The DJ began the song before we were on the dance floor. (2) When we did get to the dance floor and he restarted the music, it turned out that the DJ was playing the version of the song without Cardi B. (3) The DJ tried again, and the next version of the song he played had a 5-10 second longer introduction than the one we had been practicing to, and we missed our starting cue. (4) Finally, in order to get the right song, my husband walked over to the DJ to direct him to the correct version, thus leaving me standing in the middle of the dance floor by myself for what felt like 20 minutes (but was probably closer to 2 or 3). Ultimately, the DJ was unable to find the correct version of our song on his system and he had to play it from my husband’s phone. While we did eventually get to showcase the weeks of practice for our guests, it was not without a great deal of embarrassment. Moreover, none of our guests have initiated conversation about the first dance with us, presumably because they don’t want to reignite the feelings of unease and anger which I’m sure were obvious on both of our faces. TWO. During our first meeting with Mixxin DJ’s, we provided a “do-not-play list” of songs that my husband and I both had complied over the years. I told the DJ that I really did NOT want to hear My Humps on my wedding day. His response was - “I would never play that at a wedding.” At our reception, four songs in (while my 7-year-old and 4-year-old were on the dance floor right in front of him) the very same DJ played My Humps. THREE. On two separate occasions before the wedding, I had asked the DJ to wish my uncle a happy 81st birthday some time after dinner, but before the formal dances (he was not likely to stay later than 8:00 p.m.). Around 10:00 p.m.ish, the DJ made the announcement, and as expected, my uncle had left hours before. FOUR. My husband is from Alabama and our wedding was in Michigan, so several of our guests were from out of state (specifically, Alabama). At our very first meeting with our DJ, we had told him that we will want to hear Sweet Home Alabama at the wedding. Halfway into our reception, the song still hadn’t been played, so my mom requested it. After 4 or 5 songs and the DJ still had not played it, so she requested it again. It took about 30 minutes and 6 additional requests before the DJ complied, and during this time he was rude to my guests, bridesmaids, and mother. FIVE. Mixxin DJs was the only vendor to tell my husband and I that our wedding was not all about us. All other vendors would say, “It’s your wedding, we'll do whatever you want.” CONCLUSION At the end of the day, it felt as though he was throwing a party, and we were getting in the way.

Jason was absolutely wonderful! We found Mixxin DJs at a Bridal Expo at the Soaring Eagle Casino. We wanted something different than what everyone else in our area uses. Even with the travel fee, it was one of the cheapest options we found. Jason played to the crowd and kept the dance floor full ALL NIGHT LONG! He was so easy to work with and gave me everything I wanted as a bride. He was helpful with the timeline of events as well. I would highly recommend this company for DJ service for your big day.

DJ Ephraim did a great job for our ceremony and reception. My husband and I really wanted a blend of Latin and English music throughout the night and DJ Ephraim did great balancing both and transitioning between them. At one point during a song transition, a guest told me "wow, you hired a professional DJ!" Ephraim kept people on the dance floor and put a lot of energy in the announcements even though he was sick. I highly recommend Mixxin DJs/DJ Ephraim!

We said during the entire planning process that all we absolutely had to have was great food and great music and Ephraim absolutely delivered on the music. We had so much fun and so did our guests, he even had my 88 year old grandmother dancing. The lighting was so fun and the uplighting was beautiful and added the overall fabulousness of the night. I honestly can't say enough positive things about Ephraim and Mixxin DJ's. I would recommend them to anyone planning a wedding anywhere in Michigan.

I cannot recommend Mixxin DJS enough! Our DJ, Jason Slavin, was phenomenal! He went above and beyond what we could have hoped for. Not only did he help us choose songs and give recommendations but he kept the whole night moving and on schedule! He also recorded the speeches from the maid of honor and best man! The minute the dance floor opened Jason had everyone dancing until the end!! You couldn't find a more personable, professional DJ that can role with the punches!

Ephraim did not disappoint, he also provided our uplighting that really set the mood! We had several engaged guest ask for his info. Ephraim was extremely organized with great ideas to play off what music we love! He took requests and played music the crowd wanted to hear. He really had everyone in the dance floor, we couldn't ask for a better DJ

Ephraim was the DJ for my daughter's wedding and he scheduled a meeting with us the week before the wedding. He did a great job and the dance floor was always full. We had guests comment on how good the DJ was. He did very little talking and just kept the music going. He read the crowd well and catered to the mood. There were no issues with the photos booth during the reception. The attendant was available to help place the photos in the album. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is there could have been a more diverse selection of prompts for the photo booth. They had great signs, but could have had more hats or boas, just a little more choice.

I'm sorry to say that I was not impressed with Mixxin DJs. Seven days before my wedding, I had to contact the company owner Ephraim to discuss a meeting time to go over details because he STILL had not set that up. Throughout the process, he had consistently told me that either he himself or another DJ named Jason would be doing my wedding. When I looked online everyone had great things to say about both guys. But when we spoke a week before the wedding, he changed that plan and said that Sean would be my DJ. Ok, whatever, I'll go with the flow here. Well Sean turned out to be mighty sub-par. My husband and I had a choreographed first dance together. We had practiced a lot and were super excited for it. I communicated with Sean about this prior to the day but he had questions for me during my reception which he could have easily asked through text or email prior to that day. I told him it was simple- we do 3 dips throughout the song, and when we do our 3rd dip, you cut out the music. So instead, he plays some weirdly edited skippy version of our song that was nothing like we discussed. Luckily, I don't think too many people noticed but our first dance definitely was ruined for me- and that was a very important thing. Oh by the way, he also forgot to do a bouquet toss or a garter toss which we had planned out during our meeting, and he refused to do a dollar dance even though I asked him to on the night of the wedding. On the plus side, my mom said they liked the music selection and people did get out on the dance floor for a while which is important. I would not recommend Mixxin DJs based on the issues I had with them. Luckily my guests didn't notice and the wedding was a hit anyways!

DJ was fantastic - Photo Booth was down at least 1/2 the evening!!!! DJ was great however the photo booth was down at least 1/2 the evening due to the mechanics of the booth. Photo Booth attendant was extremely rude...seemed to want to be on her cell instead of attending to what she was there for. WOULD NEVER BOOK THEM for another photo booth opportunity and even though the DJ was great the photo booth flop was not acceptable. I would book elsewhere.

Do not recommend. Unprofessional. It took several months of us requesting a contract for us to even receive a contract to sign (I guess this should have been our first warning sign). They kept saying "they weren't good with paperwork". We don't live in Lansing, so we had to send the contract back rather than meet in person. Our deposit was deposited immediately, yet there was no correspondence of receipt of the contract. I had emailed the company to ask for a return copy of the contract with both signatures. Over a month went by and we heard nothing. My fiancé finally texted them. Their initial response was "who is this" and after my fiancé replied, they replied a day later saying they had received my email request and were meaning to send it back but hadn't gotten a chance because they were busy but would do so. We waited two weeks still nothing. My biggest fear was that they wouldn't even respond to simple requests for a signed contract (a fairly basic contractual thing all vendors handle), I feared they wouldn't show up the actual day of the wedding. Well worth losing the deposit to book another DJ that was reliable. Very disappointed. Would not recommend to anyone.

We hired Mixxin DJs based on some recommendations from other people. I must tell you, we were not disappointed. Jason was our DJ for the night. I can honestly say I was SHOCKED with the service that was provided for us. Who knew a DJ could make or break your wedding reception. Jason made sure everything went smoothly. He kept people dancing the entire night. Many guests have told us that it was the most fun they have ever had at a wedding reception and I am fairly certain this is because of what Jason and Mixxin DJs did for us. We also had Mixxin DJs provide a photo booth. They sent a separate attendant to make sure everything went perfect with that and provided us with an awesome photobook at the end of the night. 10/10 would recommend to everyone

Ephraim was our DJ for our wedding reception. He gave us an amazing night and kept all of our guests on the dance floor all night long. We also rented the photo booth from Mixxin and it was a great addition to give people a quick break. They supplied numerous props for some fun pictures and was a big hit with our guests. Ephraim's music selection was of a wide variety to appeal to everybody at the wedding, couldn't have gone better. Ephraim was also very involved in the planning process prior to the wedding making sure that the small details were laid out and talked about. We were able to enjoy our reception because he basically was guiding the reception through its paces making sure that the toasts, dinner music, bouquet toss, and formal dances were moving smoothly and promptly to give us plenty of party time! We couldn't be more pleased with Ephraim and his professionalism, enthusiasm, and performance! Thank you again!

The DJs kept people on the dance floor and played great music all night long. These guys are simply amazing.

We had a great experience with our DJ. We booked with them after attending a friends wedding where they were the DJ. Jason was so nice to work with and really put forth the extra effort to make sure we had a great time. Our dance floor was packed all night, definitely played music to keep everyone happy.

Ephraim from Mixxin DJs definitely made our night! Our wedding would not have been nearly as perfect without him. He played all the songs we asked for for all of our "special" dances and he kept the dance floor packed all night! I highly recommend Jason and Mixxin' DJs for your wedding. I met Jason at a bridal show and liked his personality and energy. When meeting with him a few days before our wedding to confirm details, I once again was excited about his energy. I also liked that he reminded us, "It's your day, you get to do what you want." He played a song I requested for my new husband, and must have found a relatively "clean" version of it since he originally told me he might not be able to play it due to the language. I also liked Jason's suggestion for a bridal party dance. Truthfully, one of the things I wanted most out of our wedding reception was to have a packed dance floor all night and we got that with Mixxin' DJs. He kept the dance floor JAMPACKED and played an awesome variety of music. Jason is great at his job and I'd recommend him to ANYONE.

I was skeptical at first because I was taking wedding planning very seriously and frankly, was annoyed with the DJ when I first met him. I trusted my fiance and went with it. In the end, our reception was awesome because of the DJ. He definitely does what he wants despite your requests, but he does it to make your guests have a good time. So once we were there and I relaxed it was the best!

I was referred to Jason by a family friend who also DJs. Jason made is a great experience from start to finish and really seemed to enjoy his role during our wedding. He worked with us really well and kept the party going, often reminding us of what needed to be done. Highly recommended, high satisfied. Thanks for the great time!

We Used Mixxin Djs For our Recent Wedding, The Guys Where So Easy To Talk to, Went Out Of Their Way to Make Our Day Special, and Where an Excellent Choice! Jason Did Our Ceremony Music, and Our Reception. He Took Control over announcing things for the wedding, getting people in our photobooth, and overall made the day so much easier and less stressful for us! The Music Choices where fantastic. We did not give him a playlist, we left him in control, and he managed to keep the dance floor full all night! He played music for every age group, and Everyone Had a Blast!!!

We booked Mixxin DJs for our wedding after seeing them at a friends wedding last year. Jason performed our wedding ceremony and reception, and we will never be able to say enough good about him!! He went SO above and beyond to make sure every single aspect of our day was covered, including so many things that were not his responsibility just to make sure our day was perfect. In addition to everything else, the music was perfect, everyone danced all night and had a great time. Every song was perfect! Jason worked so closely with us leading up to the day to help with planning, and executed everything above our expectations! Jason did an amazing job, he made sure that everything was running smoothly and that I was happy all night. There were multiple times during that night when he came up to me to make sure I was happy with the way things were going, asking if there were a special song I wanted played, or if I wanted him to change to a different style. He also makes sure not to play anything you don’t want. He told me at our meeting that if there were a song requested that he even question the smallest amount he would ask me before playing it. Our guests were dancing from 7:00 until midnight which is all because of Jason.

We booked our wedding with Mixxin' DJ's because we had seen them listed on the Knot as one of the top vendors for 2009 and we couldn't be more pleased! We met up with Jason the Thursday before the wedding to go through all the details... he was very nice and very reassuring that the whole night was going to go smoothly... the dance floor was full all night long and he did exactly what he said he was going to do... the entire night went down without a hitch...
