Michael created the most stunning pieces of art for our wedding, on envelopes! He is professional, kind and caring, and very reasonably priced. Our guests couldn't stop talking about the beautiful lettering, even before the wedding!

It was a pleasure to work with Michael at MJW Calligraphy. He was very responsive to emails and always answered quickly- sometimes in less than an hour. He finished the envelopes of my daughter's wedding invitations ahead of schedule and they were absolutely amazing! You must use Michael @ MJW. I was on an extremely tight schedule. I contacted Michael on Monday needing some calligraphy for place cards when a DIY project failed and I needed them ready by Wednesday. I gave him less than 72hrs and he did not only do an extraordinary job but he definitely went above and beyond what I expected. His professionalism was top notch. I used Michael for my wedding invitations and they were absolutely stunning. Michael created a custom font and custom gold ink color to match our traditional invitations. I was completely blown away when we received the invitations back from Michael - they are each a piece of art. I sent my invitations out about a week ago and have already received several comments saying specifically how beautiful the calligraphy is! Michael is extremely professional and provided very helpful advice throughout the process, explaining how traditional invitations should be addressed and how to correctly word titles, etc. I would highly recommend Michael to anyone looking for professional, beautiful calligraphy. Michael did the calligraphy of our names and wedding location for our invitations, as well as the names and addresses for our inner and outer envelopes. His work was superb! He was incredibly professional, responsive and an absolute delight to collaborate with through the design process. My fiance and I were in a rush to get our invitations ordered and sent, so I frantically searched the surrounding Philly area for a calligrapher. I read some of Michael's reviews on-line, as well as a couple other vendors, and e-mailed for more information. Michael responded immediately with pricing information and said that as soon as we got a proof, he would send us a sample of what he could do for our invitations. The proof he sent was beautiful and we decided to move forward with his company. Am I glad we did!! When we finally got our invitations, we dropped them off on a Saturday and Michael, knowing we were trying to rush, said he would work to get them done by the next weekend. He had them done by Thursday and they looked AMAZING. Michael matched the font of our invitation and the color of the text (a "french blue") perfectly. I couldn't stop staring at them. We had a ton of guests comment on the calligraphy, even my fiance's mother who does some calligraphy herself. She really admired his work and couldn't say enough about his talent. Bottom line is Michael is responsive, professional, and amazingly talented. I hope to go back to him for our place cards if we can find the money in our budget!!

Michael was an absolute delight to work with. From the moment I first contacted him, he was always available to answer my questions. When I finally received my wedding invitation envelopes, I couldn't believe how beaufitul the work was. When we took the invites to the Benjamin Franklin post office down in Philadelphia (a post office that sees A LOT of wedding invitations), the postal service woman said that she had never in her life seen more beautifully addressed invitations. She had to look closely to see that they were actually done by hand...that's how amazing Michaels's work is. If you are a bride looking to add that extra snap of beautiful detail to your wedding, I recommend Michael. You WILL NOT be disappointed. Also, I did a lot of reserach on calligraphers, and Michael's work is second to none win terms of value as well. He is so reasonably priced. Look no further than MJW Calligraphy. Michael was a joy to work with from the start. He was very helpful and prompt with his communication through email. I gave him the time frame I was looking to send my invites out and he even matched my wedding colors with special ink he formulated. His pricing is very reasonable for the amount of work and talent he puts into every envelope. He did both the outer and inner envelopes for me and they are beautiful. Michael worked very closely with me to make sure that everyone had the correct address and title and was very quick to respond back to my emails. I shipped out the envelopes to him and he shipped them right back in perfect condition. I first contacted Michael on a Sunday afternoon after realizing that time was running out for me to book a calligrapher. He answered the phone right away and took the time to talk with me about my wedding envelope needs. Within just a few hours, he emailed me a photo sample and I knew I wanted to work with him. He ended up perfectly matching the ink to my invites, which were a dark, dark blue, and he was always quick to respond throughout the process. When I went to drop my invites off at the post office, the man behind me in line even complemented the beautiful calligraphy. We heard nothing but good things from our guests too. We will be using MJW for our table cards and I know these will turn out beautifully as well.

I just received my package of place cards and table names from Michael after already having used his incredible talents for our invitations (inner and outer envelopes), and I cannot recommend him highly enough! He matched ink perfectly to our invitation (a tricky shade of blue), and most importantly created a perfect and gorgeous replica of our invitation cursive, with a little extra flourish that I had requested. He was incredible prompt, professional, helpful and generally wonderful with all communication, and was also VERY reasonably priced (I am a NYC bride getting married in Maine and he was literally half the price of some NY calligraphers I looked at, yet with absolutely top-of-the-line quality). We have received so many compliments from our guests on his work and are just thrilled we chose him! He was recommended to be by a friend who'd used his work and I am so happy to pass along the recommendation to others!

I was thrilled with my experience with MJW from start to finish. Michael was quick to respond to my initial email and sent me a proof via email to show me how he would like to address the invitations. He is so experienced that he anticipated every possible issue that can come up with addressing invitations properly and caught things that I had missed. I cannot put into words how much Michael's calligraphy added to our wedding. We had him address our envelops (inner and outer), write our place cards, and design our table numbers. I never met Michael in person (all of our correspondences were via email), but I had no doubt early on that he would be a great vendor based on his prompt replies, professionalism, and artistic talent. I sent him a copy of our invitations, and within a couple days, he returned a proof for our envelopes that was the perfect fit: formal, but not stuffy, whimsical but not childish, and certainly not overdone. The aesthetic was spot on, and the place cards and table numbers were equally stunning. We received countless complements from our guests, and I could not have been more pleased. Overall, I would say that Michael's calligraphy is absolutely gorgeous, and he made that step of the wedding planning process easy. Michael's work is exceptional. I had an unusual request for a calligrapher in that I wanted block lettering to match the font of my invitations. Michael provided a sample that was a wonderful match. We initially agreed to silver ink on our black envelopes. He later called to suggest his mixing of inks so that the ink would better match the matte look of our invitations. He kept in contact with my mom during th process and completed the job early, even catching an error in one of the zip codes. He is a true professional. We will be using him for our seating cards.

Michael Weinstein, who is the owner of MJW Calligraphy, is simply phenomenal at what he does. I think I set the bar pretty high, and Michael not only met, but exceeded my expectations. My wedding invitation sets were perfect. In addition, Michael is a class act- a gentleman, always on time or early with his work, a perfectionist when it comes to finding mistakes in addresses or titles and accommodating. Look no further!

I used Michael for my invitations and they were so beautiful. After I contacted him and sent over a jpg of our design, he got right back to me with two custom samples to choose from. We used navy envelopes with silver ink. It was very fast, no typos, and there was solid communication for the whole process. People have been calling to tell me how great they look. My (now) husband is a lefty with bad writing and I have the handwriting of a serial killer so when it came time to address our wedding invitations we knew we had to hire someone. We chose MJW Calligraphy and the work was beautiful, affordable and the turnaround time was quick. The amount of time saved by hiring them to do our envelopes was HUGE. However, the people who received my invitations seem to think I spent zillions of dollars on calligraphy- because it looks like I did! My mom recommended that I check the spelling and addresses before mailing because it is apparently common for calligraphers to make mistakes. DON'T EVEN THINK OF USING ANYONE ELSE - HE IS AMAZING! To work with a calligrapher online (vs. in person) I thought was risky UNTIL I met Michael. He was so resourceful (sending me examples via fax, emails) and was able to show his gorgeous, unique work without meeting in person. Via phone conversations he understood my vision and somehow pictured exactly what I wanted and went above and beyond by adding his suggestions and optimizing my vision.
