About this vendor
II’m a wedding photographer here to document the day of your dreams, to freeze it in time for you to relive over and over again. Whether it’s an intimate elopement by an alpine lake or an epic family affair, I’ve got you covered. That means capturing every little glance in-between moments, the magic in the details - big and small - and then wrapping it all up into a stunning portrait gallery you’ll pass down for generations. Consider me your honorary bridesmaid here to cheer you on, pull the pine needles out of your train… I’m wholly invested in you having the time of your life, and capturing it for you to relive time and time again. I can’t wait to start dreaming with you!
When I connect with clients, I’m building lasting relationships that carry on long after your wedding day. I actually call myself an “everything photographer” because I don’t stop at weddings. Nothing makes me happier than capturing all the moments that follow as your life unfolds, as your family grows.
My Approach: I strive to help couples feel the freedom and confidence to be their spontaneous and authentic selves in front of the camera. The last thing you should worry about on your wedding day is feeling awkward in pictures.I’ll guide you as needed, delivering a mix of traditional, documentary, and creative images.

I won’t be posting any photos with people in them, but they turned out great. I don’t know how it’s possible but every single family photo looks really good and there are some beautiful candid shots of my now husband and I!

or themselves, but what really sets Makaila apart is her remarkable eye for capturing the raw emotions and authentic moments of a wedding day - the little moments between us when we weren’t posing, candid shots during our ceremony, our family and friends’ reactions, creative shots capturing the decor and venue. She did such an amazing job capturing not only the look, but the feel of the gorgeous natural setting (from the jagged backlit mountain peaks down to us hiking in the dirt with our fancy shoes). She really has an eye for creative compositions and shots that feel genuine, fresh, and full of life. She was great at giving us natural and romantic posing directions and yet also had an uncanny ability to catch the best candids of us, family, and friends.
She was such a pleasure to work with and has a friendly, composed, and upbeat vibe! We’re so grateful we get to relive our wedding day through Makaila’s photography. Thank you again so much again for capturing our day so perfectly!

The photos and video she captured on our wedding day were incredible, far and away exceeding our expectations. We’ve had so much fun looking back at them, putting together photo books for our families, and watching the incredibly cool video she created using an old film video camera. She perfectly captured all of the magic and moments of our wedding day.

ake my vision come to life! I can't even describe how amazing she did for our wedding photos!! Every vision I had she captured and I felt comfortable going to her with all of my ideas for the wedding day. Everywhere I looked she was standing on a chair capturing every moment. She is really good at telling you how to pose and where to put your hands so you don't look awkward as well(I was worried about that)! She is also so sweet and makes you feel so comfortable. I cannot recommend Makaila enough!

for the first time it felt like we had found the perfect photographer. She asked all the rig questions to help us understand how everything would go and really had a sincere connection. Her work is unparalleled and we are so lucky to have worked with her. Her photos were exactly as we had pictured - the use of detail, action shots, sensual shots, thoughtful shots, and editing were very much on point. I can’t say enough how awesome she is as a human and her work will leave you breathless.
