Mod Hair Salon

I didn’t go there for hair services but I went there yesterday for makeup services for my bridesmaids and I. I didn’t do a trial run because it was a last minute idea for us to get our make up done. My husband and I eloped in Hawaii and I had my makeup done without practice and it turned out great. So I just assumed that the same would happen with Mod, which is my fault. Based off of pictures, I’m sure hair services would be fine. The makeup services were not. When we first walked in, the receptionist couldn’t find our appointment, even though they called me the day before to verify. After she found it, we were sat at the makeup station. There were two ladies doing the makeup for myself and my two bridesmaids. One of my bridesmaids turned out Orange with a noticeable unblended line of foundation from her neck to chin. The lady only put foundation, liner, lipstick, and lashes on her. The other lady who did my makeup used the wrong shade and with my darker skin tone, I turned out gray. I had to ask her multiple times to do the type of make up I wanted. I had caked on, unblended concealer under my eyes and an unblended patchy contour. My eyeshadow honestly looked like I got punched in the eye. And when she was finished there was a large noticeable patch of eyeshadow fallout under my eyes. I didn’t want to rude when she was doing it and I was trying to trust her because she was a professional but when she said she was “done” and was going to but eyelashes on, I had to stop her. She started on my second bridesmaid and me and my other bridesmaid went into the bathroom. I was so upset because my makeup and her makeup honestly looked THAT bad. I ended up calling my husband,crying, and asked him to bring all of my makeup to our venue because we were going to have to do our own make up. We ended up stopping her after 5 minutes into working on my last bridesmaid because we wanted to leave. The manager did come talk to us and did offer to have someone else fix it, which I did appreciate. But I was so upset that I just wanted to leave. And the fact that we had two of their workers who did a unacceptable job, I didn’t really trust anyone else in there to do it. Everyone in there was very nice, and the salon was very cute. But I think the salon just specializes better in hair services, not makeup. I have had my makeup done a few times and I have never had it look that way. The makeup services that you can get at Von Maur, which is not really considered for wedding makeup, was better. I heard about them at a bridal show and I just really hope that their staff does more training in makeup if they are going to offer both services. I really don’t want to have another bride go through that.
