Moda Bella Salon & Spa

The stylists at Moda Bella Salon & Spa did hair and make-up for myself, my mom, my mother-in-law, and my bridesmaids for my June 18th, 2016 wedding. Justine, the bridal coordinator, was easy to contact via e-mail and phone. She was flexible and allowed us to bump back our hair and make-up start times by a half hour a month before the wedding when we had a timeline shift. There is an upstairs bridal room available for rent that we rented, and when we arrived at the salon 15 minutes before our appointment, Justine had the room set up with plentiful snacks and beverages (water, coffee, tea, bagels, cream cheese, fruit). The room served as a calm, relaxing retreat when we were getting our hair and makeup done and helped me stay calm as the time crept closer and closer to the ceremony. The room had plenty of space for you and your girls to get dressed if you are headed right to the ceremony after hair/makeup. Included in the bridal package was a trial hair and make-up session, and my stylist re-did my hair until it was absolutely perfect, just how I wanted it (she then took pictures so she could copy it exactly on the wedding day). Come wedding day, all of the stylists did a superb job on our hair and make-up - I wore my hair half-up/half-down, and my curls stayed perfect through the reception. My mom's curls lasted all the way through brunch on the Sunday after the wedding, and one of my bridesmaids minor sunburn was completely disguised. My make-up lasted all day - they even remember to ask if you want waterproof mascara, and they have lip gloss/lipstick for purchase so you can do touch-ups throughout the day. The bridal coordinator wasn't available the day of my hair and makeup trial to pay in advance for the wedding day services, so I paid for the trial the day of the trial and everything else the morning of the wedding after our services were complete. It took the girls up front some time to tally up the total and combine separate tabs, but it wasn't a big deal because I relaxed and hung out in the bridal room upstairs while they figured it out. Overall, I can't recommend Moda Bella enough to brides to be in the Kenosha/Racine area!

Everything was great when I set up appointments. I Was told because my party was so big they would close the salon and each girl would have a stylist. I was shocked when the place was still open. I was told to not worry about bringing food or drinks because they would provide them with the deposit- No food (thank my soon to be sister who ordered subs to be delivered the night before). They only have 4 stylists for the 8 of us. They did not listen to me when I gave them specific instructions to start with the girls with the thick/long hair (did them last). One stylist saw another customer in between doing one of my girls hair. All the girls felt they weren't heard when they talked to the stylists. I will say, My hair looked great and I loved my Stylist, Amee. The worst of it all was they asked for photos and I agreed. While walking to their signs their receptionist stepped on my dress and ripped it. Never said sorry and minimized the situation by saying "it looks fine" One button was completely gone and there was a 4 inch gash in my dress- that everyone noticed and asked me about at the ceremony.
