We wanted to find the perfect venue for us, at the same time that all the other brides were trying to move their 2020 weddings and all the newly engaged brides needed to find venues. On top of that, we now had to think of: Décor, food, bartenders, etc- you can imagine the overwhelming feeling of panic! We met with Elyse, and we knew immediately that we were a perfect fit, she was kind, thoughtful and understood our situation and the overwhelmed feeling we had. Once we hired the Modern Aisles team, they jumped in to help and make the planning of our big day perfect. Sunni created a beautiful mood board, and they understood exactly what our vision was and could communicate it better than us. They provided us an inventory list, and would check in with us throughout the planning to make sure everything was going to plan. Elyse joined us for our walk through, brought great questions and suggestions. Now.. this all would have been perfectly enough.. but that wasn’t it… On the day of our wedding, not once did we question the team’s ability to execute. Our family drove up to the venue with the décor, and then didn’t have to worry about anything else. The team set-up, took down, day of coordinated, did a mini-rehearsal to ensure everyone knew where to go and when- but most of all made sure that we took moments to soak in all the beautiful chaos. Whenever there was something that was needed Elyse was the on-it, made great decisions and if she wasn’t quite sure and needed to have a decision from us- she always provided her suggestion (which took so much thinking out of it). Elyse is able to perfectly walk the line of: Sincere support for our guests, while also having the ability to protect and advocate for us, so that we could enjoy our day. All of the people who were there with us throughout the day (our bridal party and parents) raved about Elyse and the crew. I cannot say enough about this great team. I will forever recommend the Modern Aisle team.

the pandemic. At first we throught we needed just a little help, but as time went on, we realized that we needed more and more support to get the wedding of our dreams pulled off. Elyse and Sunni happily assisted us as our needs grew and changed. They were attentive, responsive and intuitive. They even filled our car with our gifts and leftover food after the wedding so we could keep dancing. They gave us excellent referrals for other vendors too. We would give them 10 stars if we could!

2 due to Covid – Elyse went above and beyond what we contracted her for. She in knowledgeable, meticulous, patient, well organized and her experience in and out of the wedding industry makes he well suited to this work. She will bring up details and questions that would have never occurred to you in a million years. Our only regret was that we didn’t have it in our budget to hire her for a full wedding planning package. If you hire Modern Aisles, you won’t be disappointed.

at there were no other wedding planners for us. After meeting them, as Elyse said, it just felt like we were friends. We wanted a wedding in our neighborhood in South Seattle, and a reception on the beach. In addition, to be conscientious of safety, it was crucial to have everything outdoors. Our idea was to use public parks – which come with all kinds of rules and regulations to wade through and also meant bringing in and carrying out all of our own chairs, linens, food etc. The Modern Aisles team listened to what we wanted and really helped our vision come true. After many phone calls, vendor searches, and walks around the neighborhood later, we made everything happen. On the day of, Elyse and Suni were magic makers. The ceremony was smooth and so beautiful. Coming down from our ceremony we walked into an amazing transformation of our neighborhood park, complete with a lounge area and beautiful outdoor seating – with the help of “Celebrations for Every Season”, who Elyse recommended. Through unexpected life events, pandemic logistics, changing venues and tons of DIY goals – Elyse and Suni helped us create the best party we’ve ever thrown. We might sound like we’re bragging, and that’s because we are. I would hire Elyse and Suni if you want DIY magic, thoughtful and values driven wedding planners.

ree year engagement and multiple postponements due to the pandemic we worked with three different coordinators (two went out of business), and are so glad we landed with Elyse / Modern Aisles. Elyse was professional and organized throughout our time working together. I am a hyper organized person and tend to over-engage and worry a lot when it comes to planning — miraculously, Elyse kept my anxiety completely at bay and on the day-of I truly never stressed once! It was incredible knowing that we had someone making all the gears turn behind the scenes and that we could trust her completely. I even received compliments from the wedding party, family members, and our other vendors about how awesome she is. I don’t think we would have had the same event without Modern Aisles!

nted to feel like our guests were taking an active part in the celebration, but we had no idea how to make that happen virtually. Luckily for us, Elyse had so many ideas. She helped us to create the ceremony we wanted, along with a mini-virtual reception complete with toasts, guestbook, photo-booths and dancing! During the ceremony itself, Elyse and Sunni smoothly handled Zoom hosting responsibilities, ensuring that the right speaker was always spotlighted and smoothly transitioning from one part of the ceremony to the next. After the wedding, Elyse and Sunni shared screenshots of the ceremony along with the full video. We received so many compliments from our guests, many of whom commented that this was the best Zoom celebration they had been a part of! We were alone in an apartment on the day of our wedding, but thanks to Modern Aisles we felt surrounded and loved by all our friends and family.

She encouraged guests to participate by commenting in the chat and calmed their concerns when the camera would occasionly cutout (due to a Chicago downpour!). Multiple guests commented how supported and encouraged they felt by Elyse during the ceremony and what a great asset she was to the Zoom experience. We highly recommend working with Elyse/Modern Aisles--obviously for an in-person post-covid-19 wedding--and also if you would like to include any sort of live streaming into your ceremony. We incorporated slideshows, music, had various friends (screens) participate and share wishes and had music playing while walking down the aisle and when we were dancing. All of these transitions were so smooth (we watched ourselves on the recorded version the next day!). There was rain, there was wind, our families and friends were watching from all over the world, and Elyse helped our wedding day be as perfect and seemless as ever.

As a queer couple, it also felt very important to support local/queer/PoC/women-owned businesses whenever it was possible in our wedding vendor process, and Elyse was the first person we sought out with these things in mind. It was an amazing and overwhelmingly full of love night for my wife and I - and we are so grateful to truly get to enjoy it, in no small part due to Elyse's skills and experience.

On the morning of our wedding, Elyse coordinated our set-up crew of friends and family in a friendly and professional way. During the reception, when my wife got a bit dehydrated in the summer heat, Elyse found a quiet space for her to take a break, drink some water, and eat some snacks. She checked in with us throughout the day about how we were feeling and helped us follow our timeline in a stress-free manner. We have already recommended Elyse to other people planning special event: she allowed us to have the best wedding day imaginable!
