- Michael WillisOwnerMeet MadMike — Owner, Lead DJ & Creator of the Signature Wedding Weekend Mike's journey with Modern Era Weddings started in 2011, when he first joined the company as a DJ in Pittsburgh. After years of perfecting his craft and building a reputation for high-energy, non-cheesy, truly personalized wedding parties, Mike took over ownership of the company in 2015 — bringing his vision for full-scale wedding entertainment to life. In 2017, after DJing one of the founder’s weddings in Miami, Mike expanded Modern Era Weddings into Florida and officially began building what would become the company’s national destination wedding footprint. Over the years, Mike’s approach has evolved far beyond traditional DJ services. His creation of the Signature Wedding Weekend system transformed Modern Era Weddings into a full-service entertainment brand — delivering multi-day wedding experiences that include professional DJs, live musicians, lighting design, photo booths, videography, and full production management for destination weddings, private estates, and resort takeovers across the country and beyond. Today, Mike leads one of the industry’s most respected luxury wedding entertainment teams, personally overseeing each client experience, coaching his DJ team, and designing custom entertainment plans that reflect each couple’s unique style, energy, and vision. Even as Modern Era Weddings has grown into a nationally recognized brand, Mike still operates by the same core philosophy that started it all: Throw the kind of wedding you’d actually want to attend — epic, personal, high-energy, and never cheesy.
