Bethany runs a tight ship and is so organized, which was so important to me the day of-- I was able to stay calm and enjoy the day, while she was running around fixing minor issues that I didn't even know happened! She was always available and helped answer all of my questions throughout the process, which was over 2 years of planning and countless texts, emails and calls.

She took our debatably incoherent vision, worked her magic, put together an amazing team of vendors, and turned it into absolute perfection.

ctly what we wanted. We had our wedding at my childhood home and she turned it into an actual fairytale. From connecting us with our florist and caterer to handling all the logistics of rentals and alcohol quantities, we were never stressed. Not to mention when it decided to rain on our wedding day, Bethany pivoted our outdoor cocktail hour indoors, and then back outdoors once the rain stopped like it was no big deal. She went above and beyond on load in days (there were multiple), hanging at our house to make sure everything was going smoothly. Oh yeah and let's not forget we were planning all of this in the middle of COVID! I feel truly lucky to have had Bethany brought into my life for such an important life moment. I am so thankful to have met her and all of the amazing vendors she introduced us to. Everyone we worked with were not only masters of their craft, but good hearted, kind people on top of it.

Kicks, there’s no way our wedding would have been even close to amazing as it was. From our first phone call, I knew that hiring Bethany was an absolute must. Having someone who is so connected to all of the vendors in the Hudson Valley was an amazing asset (she’s best friends with our florist and was able to set up our after-party spot literally 24 hours before our wedding because our initial plan fell through...). She responded calmly every time I texted her with an “Am I crazy…?” and made sure everything was taken care of. She kept me on track with her amazing organizational skills (gotta love a girl who loves Excel!) and was the best sounding board we could have asked for. She was a true partner and we never had to worry about a single thing because we knew it was all going to be taken care of. Getting married is amazing but it also the MOST stressful no matter what, but having someone there to make it even 1% less stressful is 100% worth it and Bethany goes above and beyond that.

skills. We were living in another state at the time, and so most of our communication with her happened over email and the phone. This posed no problem whatsoever, and she was great about finding time to meet with us in person on the rare occasions when we were able to make the trip. Our venue was also kinda in the middle of nowhere and extremely bare-bones; we basically had to bring everything in for the event, and there wasn't a central location where our guests could stay. Bethany handled all of these challenges admirably, including coordinating a detailed shuttle itinerary and schedule to ensure that our guest could travel comfortably and safely. By the time we got to the big day, everything went off like clockwork. Okay, so plenty of wedding planners are organized--but Bethany is, like, 1000% organized. On top of that, she helped us create the wedding of our dreams. She listened closely to our aesthetic preferences, entertained our crazy ideas, helped us select vendors who suited our taste, and came up with a beautiful, unique, and stunning event. We were (and still are!) so happy with how it turned out--not just the design and visual elements, but also the overall vibe. All of our guests have said that ours was the best (most fun, most beautiful, most personal) wedding they'd ever attended. Most importantly, Bethany was also a pleasure to work with. I'm an extremely anxious and indecisive person, and I can't fully express how helpful it was to work with someone so centered. Bethany calmly guided us through decision after decision, never rushing us along and giving us ample time and space to make the right choice for us, while of course keeping us on track and on time. Many planners excel in a few areas: design, vendor selection and coordination, communication, logistics, execution. But Bethany excels at them all! And I would wager that few planners are as thoughtful, creative, tactful, diligent, and fun to work with as she. I truly cannot recommend her enough!

he easiest to hire. After hiring Bethany from Modern Kicks, everything was smooth sailing. She helped with all sorts of details I hadn't thought about as well as finding vendors to complete my complicated vision. She even found a completely new photographer after my original one cancelled a few months before our date! Bethany has a relaxed attitude but gets it all done without the drama. I also had a handful of vendors that I had already hired (my band, florist and venue) all tell me that Bethany was super professional to work with and really knew her stuff. Our weekend was absolutely perfect and Bethany played a huge role in that. Look out for my wedding in Martha Stewart Mag it was so perfect!!

r initial planing meeting, where she truly got who are as a couple, to her recommendations for great local vendors to the weeks leading up to the wedding with concerns about the weather, she set the tone for the best party we could have asked for. It ran so efficiently and we did not have to worry about a thing. We're very grateful for her attitude and talent.

something needed to be done, she would appear out of thin air and take care of it! A few months in to planning our wedding, we realized we needed help! As we had already made some of the bigger decisions, we brought Bethany on as a partial planner to help with everything else. Though we had never met her, we chose Bethany because of her great attitude and familiarity with the wedding location and surrounding areas (the Basilica in Hudson, NY). Beyond great food, great music and an awesome party, we had no other vision for what we wanted the day to be. Bethany was super patient with us as we emailed her random ideas in the middle of the night – she humored some of them, very tactfully shot some down, and worked on fulfilling our various requests (balloon installations!). Bethany was really fun to talk to, was able to handle the various family members, and wrangled the things that needed wrangling. In hindsight, a few things that might help other couples (regardless if you use Bethany or not): -I think the role of a ‘partial planner’ is tough, as it’s hard for both parties to know where to draw the line. I’d hired a planner, so I wanted to delegate everything – but wasn’t always sure if I was going too far, or if I should be pushing further. If you’re going to go this route, it’s worth having some frank conversations. -Bethany was great at offering me options, but there were times that I just needed her to give me opinion/direction (example – she provided multiple silverware options, each with their cost. It was nice to see the options, but what I really needed was for someone to tell me how much to spend on silverware!). I wish I was more upfront in telling her what I needed from her. Don’t be afraid to speak up!

much they loved the details of the day so far and things were just getting started. To this day, we want to rewind and do it all over again. “It” would not have been possible without Bethany and her team. We wanted to create a unique celebration that would be remembered forever by our guests as one of the best weddings they’ve been to. Bethany helped us deliver the dream and vision into reality. From each phone call, site visit, vision board and design update - working with Bethany was stress-free, fun and exciting. Guests even told my wife, Liz, that she was the ‘most chill bride ever’ on our wedding day and, again, Bethany deserves a lot of the credit here. Her mastery of the day-of details were impeccable. The weather threw us a curveball and Bethany figured out how to reorganize the cocktail hour in a moment’s notice. There were countless details that would’ve gone overlooked and moments not capitalized on if we hadn’t had her help on our wedding day. However, by far the best part of working with Bethany and her team was on the design of our wedding. With a few Pinterest boards, color selections and risks we wanted to take - Bethany’s vision created something we wouldn’t have thought of in a million years, turning a unique space (Basilica Hudson) into our fairytale for a night. We can’t recommend Bethany enough to all of our friends and family. From a balloon and disco ball installation above a black & white check dance floor to hidden ice cream cones in our photo booth backdrop, we’ll be dreaming about the best night of our lives for eternity.

ided that it would be worth it to not have to worry about details and logistics at the wedding. It was probably the best choice I made throughout the entire wedding planning process! Bethany has a few different planning options (full time, partial planning and then month of) depending on what you need. I went with month of but she helped to advise as I hired each vendor - giving me thoughtful opinions throughout. When she came on I was able to hand off so much of the logistical work and knowing nothing would slip through the cracks was such a relief. Beyond her organizational help, Bethany’s creative talent is incredible. She really works with the your vision for the day and helps bring that to life. I was so impressed by her past work that I knew I also didn’t need to plan EVERYTHING, that she would hop in and fill in the missing pieces beautifully. Lastly, she is also really fun and brings a wonderfully calm presence to the crazy that can arise the week and day of a wedding. You really can’t go wrong choosing Bethany/Modern Kicks!

ters wedding, the venue we booked 9 months ago confirmed that they would not be ready in time for our may 5th event. We panicked, Bethany worked. And worked and worked and worked!! Not only did she work tirelessly and efficiently , she did it all with a smile and the most calming demeanor possible. New venue, new caterer, rentals of everything including tents, bathrooms, dishes, kitchen equipment, buses etc. She also notified all previously booked vendors of changes and made arrangements for them to now work at new venue. Everyday Bethany picked away at a long list of changes and additions. She put us in touch with a fabulous caterer, Brandon from hunt and harvest, who created a perfect menu and the most delicious food. This was all done in 12 days!! She did in a week and a half what most planners do in a year or two and all the while a smile on her face. Onthe day of the wedding, the very large wedding party had hair and makeup done while Bethany coordinated the most spectacular wedding. Any glitch was met with no problem, we can easily handle this. Guests at the wedding repeatedly told us this was by far the most fabulous wedding ever! I just can't imagine how Bethany did all this, but I am convinced that she broke a record with our 12 day wedding! Thank you, thank you, thank you Bethany for giving our kids the very best day of their lives!
