My brother is also a professional drummer and Modern Luxe let him play one song with the rest of the band on the drums after I gave them my permission. This was the HIGHLIGHT of my wedding and I was so so happy they agreed to let my brother play. They also made sure my brother was an actual professional before he got on stage (rightfully so). Would recommend this band to any family or friend playing a wedding!

Luxe for our wedding in Annapolis, Maryland. We didn't have a chance to see them live before booking, but saw some very promising Youtube videos and decided to take a chance. And we are SO HAPPY we did! From day one, they were extremely kind, accommodating, flexible, and professional. Now for the music itself... WOW! They flawlessly executed songs from all different styles and kept our dance floor PACKED the whole night. Our wedding had a mix of friends and family of all different ages and cultures (with several relatives visiting from outside the country). We told them we wanted to go for songs that everyone would know and love, and Modern Luxe nailed it!! So many people came up to us during the wedding saying they had never danced so much at an event, and that it felt like they were at a concert. I think three different couples who attended asked us for Modern Luxe's contact information to try to book them for their next event. My mom always told me that it’s the “people & the music” that make a wedding, so I knew securing the best band was my #1 priority after booking our venue & we 1000000% made the right decision going with modern luxe. Our guests are still raving about our wedding & so many have told us it “was the best band they’ve ever heard at a wedding”. Everyone was on their feet all night long! If I could go back & do it all over again I would choose modern luxe over and over again. Stop searching & just go with Modern Luxe - promise it will be the best decision you make.

Their musical talent speaks for itself in any of the videos you can find of them online, but you have to see them in person to fully appreciate the incredible environment they make for their shows. They have a vast amount of songs, both old and new on their song list to select from and they will also learn a certain number of new songs for you as well if they don’t already know how to play them. Our music selection included a wide spectrum of genres from polka to rock and even some 90s and early 2000s crowd favorites. They were extremely easy to work with and very professional in terms of communication and accessibility. We had 2 zoom meetings with them prior to the wedding to go over the wedding day itinerary and provided us with great recommendations based on things they had seen at other weddings as well! Overall, we couldn’t have been happier with our choice of band and our friends and family are all still talking about how amazing they were weeks after the wedding!

When we reached out to inquire with Modern Luxe, we were invited to attend one of their practices, so we could hear them live and ask questions- not only did we find this incredibly thoughtful, but it truly helped us to make the decision to hire them. When we came to the rehearsal, we were most struck by was the range of vocal styles they could accommodate- Kito and Janelle are the lead singers, and they are phenomenal. But Shawn, the guitarist, and Ian (pianist and co-owner) take the mic for certain songs and genres: Ian sang some pop-punk for us, and Shawn sang some country- each has a distinct sound perfectly suited to the music they perform, which wasn’t something we had come across. Additionally, they assured us that they don’t swap out their musicians- the band you see is the band you get—this is NOT the case for many wedding bands. So, we hired them, and that was the best decision we made, by far. They absolutely killed it at our wedding—beyond our wildest dreams. We actually prefer their rendition of our wedding song over the original, because of how beautifully it was performed. To add to that, we noticed people dancing that I’ve never seen dance at a wedding! Our guests were having the best time, and my husband and I barely ate because we didn’t want to miss a song. We wish we could do it all over again, we had the time of our lives! Not only is Modern Luxe beyond talented, but they’re the kindest people, who were so patient with our indecision and requests. They were responsive, detail-oriented, and professional at all times. This band is a rare find-there are a lot of subpar wedding bands out there, but the talent and the professionalism you’ll get with Modern Luxe is unmatched.
