Mikaela was a pleasure to work with while planning our wedding. She was very responsive to my many questions, and was always available when I wanted to go see the venue. We decided on Moffatt Ladd for our venue in February before we even knew what the garden would look like once it was fully in bloom. We had our wedding in August, and the garden was even more beautiful than we could have imagined. Many of our guests said it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever been to. We highly recommend Moffatt Ladd House & Garden for your wedding ceremony and reception!

The Moffatt-Ladd House & Garden is a beautiful venue. The garden is incredible and the barn is perfect for dancing. Marsha was extremely helpful and went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly. She was great to work with. I highly recommend this venue.

ve a new events coordinator as of August, that was great to work with at our final stages (Mary) so hopefully she stays a long time (they had huge turnover during the year we were working with them). If you are to use this vendor be sure to take detailed meeting minutes as the group can be very forgetful (pre-Mary). So all in all the space is beautiful and if you are organized do it here, if you aren't a project manager in your normal life or you don't want to deal with small annoyances seek another space.

The museum is in the middle of downtown Portsmouth and one would never know such a gorgeous garden is tucked away in the back of the historic mansion. It really is such a beautifu...
l spot and so romantic. The house is a museum and so their main purpose is to give tours and educate visitors, but weddings help support their mission. You have to bring in caterers, florists, a tent, chairs, tables, linens, etc., which is a lot to coordinate so if you want a one-stop-shop type of venue, this isn't for you. However, if you want a unique, memorable wedding venue--this is definitely it! The space really lends itself well to weddings with several different spots for each part of the wedding. An upper garden overlooking the space (and a small glimpse of the water), a tent fits well in the lower garden for dinner, and the barn is a perfect spot for dancing. I really felt like I could utilize the entire space and our guests kept telling us how perfect the spot was--one of the most beautiful weddings they'd been to!
