About Me Hi, I’m Yinjie (YJ) Deng, the photographer behind MoLight Studio. I approach wedding photography as storytelling through light, preserving each moment with intention, emotion, and artistry. I studied photography at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where I developed a strong foundation in composition and visual storytelling. Over the years, I’ve had the honor of working with hundreds of couples, each with their own rhythm, culture, and love story. What matters most to me is not just how your wedding looks, but how it feels, the quiet in-between glances, the energy of the room, the atmosphere you’ll want to remember years from now. ive you a little direction here and there but never makes it feel forced or stiff. It honestly just felt like she was hanging out with us, and somehow the most beautiful photos came out of it. meaningful, we would spend the day at the Field Museum, just like any normal date, and then I would surprise her with a proposal on the lawn outside. Afterward, we had plans to celebrate with our closest friends and family at a rooftop bar downtown. Everything was perfectly planned… until the unexpected happened. Just a day before the proposal, my original photographer canceled due to a flight delay. In that moment, it felt like everything I had carefully prepared was falling apart. But capturing this moment meant everything to me, I didn’t want to let it slip away undocumented. That’s when I found YJ on The Knot. Looking back, I honestly believe we were lucky things happened the way they did, because we ended up with someone who genuinely cared and went above and beyond for us.
