Molly McElenney Photography

fect -- photos were on the top of that list, since they're the way I'm going to remember my special day forever! My wedding was in California so I initially looked at ~10 different photographers who were local to the area, most of whom were recommended by my wedding planner. I wanted someone who I knew, trusted and felt comfortable with, so I could ask them to take some shots I wanted. I also wanted someone that could capture the aesthetic I wanted for my wedding: the natural beauty of the Newport Harbor, the elevated yet casual experience on the beach, the fun little moments between myself and my now-husband. After looking at photographers' photos for hours, I booked Molly. I knew it would be a bit more expensive to hire her and bring her to California but I LOVED the photos she'd taken for other couples and since we went to high school together, I figured she'd be someone I'm more comfortable with. I was right, though I didn't have to ask her to take any shots because she had better recommendations for photos than I did! haha Working with Molly both nights was fantastic. During the night of the rehearsal dinner, she arrived on time and took photos the whole night. She pulled my husband and me aside to get moments with the sunsets and different scenes around the boat. She was able to capture all of our guests having fun and enjoying the boat ride around Newport Harbor. The day of the wedding, she brought another local photographer with her to make sure we had coverage of both the bridesmaids and the groomsmen getting ready. She spent the afternoon with us capturing our hair and makeup experience and taking photos of all my bridesmaids. She captured my first look with my dad and my husband, and had incredible recommendations on where to stand, how to pose and how to move my hair/vail to make the photos beautiful. She took photos of the wedding all throughout the night and to my pleasant surprise, started sending me touched-up photos of the wedding THAT NIGHT! I was able to make my own first social media post first thing in the morning with her beautiful photographs. Molly was able to capture all of the beautiful moments of both nights and had an extremely quick turnaround with some initial touched-up photos. I highly highly highly recommend Molly for your wedding!

is an absolute joy to work with.

t the process. Most importantly, she brought a laid back yet professional approach. We couldn't recommend her more! Thank you Molly!!

t of gold. She is everything you could want in a photographer and more! If what you seek on your special day is an experience in addition to the beautiful moment she captures... Molly is your girl!

g. She has this ability to capture every moment of your special day, moments you did not even know you wanted she got them. She is amazing at reading your mind, when I was done with photos at my wedding she knew right away and we stopped. It was so nice not having to overthink anything or stress about her, she does it all. She will capture your day in ways you did not think you wanted. The feedback from my bridal party & family was she was amazing to work with. We will definitely be using her again!

feel comfortable in front of the camera. People I haven't spoken to in years raved about the beauty of our photos when I posted some on line. We are thrilled to have so many gorgeous photographs to remind us of our perfect day. Thank you, Molly!!

ble, but Molly made me feel relaxed and made me laugh. She is so genuine and her kindness shows through her pictures. I can't imagine having anyone else share such a special day in our lives. Her pictures are STUNNING! The pictures literally brought me to tears. We love MOLLY!!!!

day, Molly truly helped make everything run smoothly and captured the most special moments. We are so thankful for everything she did, and the beautiful photos we will have for a lifetime.

knew I loved her work, but I also appreciated how much she listened and took into consideration what I wanted and needed on the day. I had told her that I was worried about having such a large family and wanting to get a lot of shots done in a short amount of time. She was amazing at directing everyone and making sure that we kept moving and did it in a kind way. Overall, not only is she an amazing photographer who gave me memories to cherish forever, but she is also a wonderful person who can make a bride feel so special and heard.
