We cannot recommend Moments by Iaona Stavar enough! She is SO good at her craft, and makes you feel so comfortable in front of the camera. My brother texted us after and said "your photographer was SO locked in, holy ...." Her photos are beautiful, she is kind and captures all the important moments without making it feel like a chore to take photos. You can tell she loves what she does and we are so happy with our photos from her! BOOK BOOK BOOK!
We hired Ioana for our 150-person wedding at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, and we would highly recommend her!
From the very beginning, Ioana was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly generous with her time and expertise. It was clear that she truly cared about us as clients and wanted to understand what mattered most to us.
When we first met and asked to see more of her portfolio, we were blown away by how consistently beautiful each of her albums was. And sure enough, when we received our own wedding gallery, we felt the same way. She captured us, the venue, the small details, and our guests so perfectly. Every element of the day came through beautifully, and we were so impressed by both the quality and quantity of photos captured by Ioana and her second photographer.
As a bride, there is so much of the night you do not get to see firsthand, and I loved being able to experience so much of the evening through our guests’ eyes. That was especially true in the highlight reel, which brought the moments of the night to life and added the movement and energy that photos alone sometimes cannot fully capture.
My husband and I are usually awkward having our photos taken, but Ioana and her second photographer both had such a calm presence and documentary-style approach that we felt completely natural and at ease. The result was a collection of beautiful, genuine photos that really felt like us.
We received so many compliments from our guests about Ioana and her sneak peek that we decided to include printed guest photos in our thank-you notes, along with a link to the full gallery. We absolutely loved working with Ioana and would hire her again in a heartbeat!

Ioana Stavar started capturing moments six years ago. In 2024 she applied and received a U.S. visa based on her photography business. In 2025 she moved to NYC together with her husband. With this step, she is fulfilling her dream of giving back to the wonderful humans and country that changed her life for the better.
