Momo Shot Photography, based in New York and NJ, is a cinematic documentary and editorial style wedding photographer. Owner Momo Li is passionate about immortalizing the raw emotions shared between partners on their wedding day. With a deep passion for capturing the unique emotions of every couple, Momo will personally photograph and edit all the weddings she takes on, limiting herself to just 20 weddings per year. This allows her to ensure that every image tells a meaningful story and that the entire Momo Shot Photography experience—both the process and the final product—holds a special place in the collective memory. As a drummer and former journalist, Momo's journey into photography was sparked by her love for documentary-style shooting and deep sensitivity to art. She believes the most powerful moments lie in the details and authenticity. That's why, during each session, Momo Shot Photography works passionately to bring out a couple's real emotions, providing a professional yet relaxed and enjoyable experience.

wanted photos that would make our special day live on forever, and Momo delivered exactly that. From day one, working with her was incredibly easy—from the initial consultation to signing the contract and discussing our shot list. She quickly became the vendor I trusted the most, and that trust was not in vain; she was hands-down the best person we worked with for our entire wedding. On the wedding day, she actually arrived at our hotel before I did! Since we didn't have a wedding planner, I hadn't prepared perfectly for her, but Momo is a true professional. She made brilliant use of whatever was available, capturing stunning photos of us, our loved ones, and our accessories seamlessly. My husband and I are both quite shy and introverted, and the idea of being the center of attention in front of a camera felt incredibly daunting. But Momo has a magical way of easing all of that anxiety. Instead of forcing stiff, awkward poses, she gently guided us to just look at each other, breathe, and be present. She made us feel completely safe, relaxed, and happy. Because of her gentle approach, she captured our true selves rather than a performative version of us. The photos genuinely reflect exactly who we are and how our love feels. , took my pinterest inspo pics to heart, and most importantly, captured beautiful moments of us and our loved ones. After seeing just the previews, we told her "We absolutely adore all these photos! You and Ann (her second shooter) captured our special day so perfectly. We are forever grateful and feel beyond blessed to have you tell our love story." We still feel that way and even more after getting the full gallery. Momo even offered to retouch photos to ensure everything was absolutely perfect for us. If you are on the fence about whether to book her or not, this is your sign to do it!! The big day will pass, but photos are forever--truly the best investment. It also makes me very happy to know I am supporting an Asian Female-owned business :)

thought was really nice. Both my fiance and I are usually a little shy behind the camera but Momo made us so comfortable and it was easy to forget she was even there sometimes. Afterwards, my fiance couldn’t stop talking about how much fun he had (“I just got to kiss you for an hour!”). She was also great with our big, goofy dog. The pictures, which she sent in two days, exceeded all our expectations. They are so amazing and special for us to have, and everyone is gushing about them! We couldn’t be happier we went with Momo.

ture both occasions – and coming from a couple who considered skipping hiring a professional photographer entirely. We came across so many photographers who we felt weren't unique and/or didn’t speak to us on an artistic level. So many we came across had shots with garish lighting, felt too stiff or plain, and/or simply took up too much of your time on your actual wedding day. When we came across Momo’s work, right away, we knew she had a style that was timeless and incredibly artistic. She has an incredible way of storytelling with thoughtful shot compositions and capturing genuinely emotional moments through her lens. Her sense of color-grading and her eye for lighting always feels natural, warm, but also her own. As a person, you really get the sense that she embodies her work and you can trust her to make great art! We felt really relaxed and energized to have her and her assistants. They were very flexible, accommodating, and we never felt like she took time away from us during our wedding day. Even on our wedding day where we had torrential rain for an outdoor wedding, Momo and her assistant helped make the day insanely fun and one we will never forget. We are very thankful for her and her assistants’ kindness. We would love to work with her again should the opportunity arise! If we could give Momo a 100/10 or higher, we would!
