my first appointment (funny enough, not a Justin Alexander dress). I was so in love with the dress, but it was a bit more than I was hoping to spend and I ended up impulsively buying another dress from a different boutique that I liked but didn’t love. I couldn’t stop thinking about the dress Tina helped me find, however, and fast forward a year later to my first dress fitting, I just couldn’t shake the feeling that this was not my dress and that I should have gone with my heart and bought the other one. Despite my wedding being only 2 and half months away, Tina answered right away when I reached back out to her and confirmed they would be able to rush order the dress I’d wanted all along. I’m so grateful that Tina and Mon Amie helped make this pivot possible, and now I can’t wait to walk down the aisle in the dress I should have bought along. A huge thanks to Tina for her patience, graciousness, and help throughout the whole process! She is knowledgable, supportive, and clearly loves what she does. Any bride would be more than lucky to work with her <3 Also a piece of advice to brides: check pictures of yourself in the dress - that other people take - before you buy! The other dress I impulsively bought felt good when I wore it in person, but when I looked back at the pictures it photographed completely differently and was quite unflattering. I learned this too late, but fortunately Tina was still able to help me rectify this (costly) mistake!

dal shop and got a good idea of what I liked and didn't like. Melissa did a great job narrowing down my taste and most importantly, asked me how I want to feel in my dress.
Melissa brought me into the dressing room and delivered about 4-5 dresses to start, and the first one she chose was actually the dress I ended up choosing for my big day - she literally nailed it!
Once I decided I loved the dress, Melissa and Megan (the manager) helped me make a few customizations to the dress order, and also worked their magic to make the dress a little more attainable for my budget. I knew it was meant to be! It took about 5 months for my dress to be made and delivered, and although I felt like it was cutting it a bit close to my wedding day, Melissa reassured me that in all of the years they've been in business, they have not missed a single wedding. They even had a showing appointment where I could come try the dress on before it goes to alterations with my veil, shoes, and jewelry! I thought it was a really nice offering as someone who was very eager to finally have my dress.
The seamstresses that work in-house at Mon Amie were so amazing and did incredible work to make my dress fit like a glove. The one note however that I have, is that almost all of my bustle buttons unfortunately popped off by the end of my wedding night, but that could also be user error (my train wasn't exactly super light and I had lots of fun dancing). Regardless, I felt gorgeous in my dress and it felt like a perfect fit.
Overall, I totally understand why so many people trust Mon Amie and I'm so happy I decided to make an appointment. Huge thank you to Melissa for helping me find the wedding dress of my dreams!

n absolute angel and gem! She took such kind and thoughtful care of me, pulling out dresses that were the style & price point I wanted, patiently allowing me to take the time I needed to say "yes to the dress," and providing such reassurance the whole process. I said yes to my dream wedding dress, and I received so many compliments!!
When the dress came in, for some reason, the designer made my dress two different sizes - with the top being two sizes two small. While I panicked, the staff at Mon Amie, especially the manager, Megan, the manager, reassured me that they would take care of everything. Without me lifting a finger, they contacted the designer and had them send me a whole new dress immediately. Throughout the whole process too, Megan was really intentional about checking in with me and making sure everything with my dress was going well!
With alterations, I was also so happy with how the seamstresses altered my dress! I specifically wanted the bust area filled in more, and the way they added the tool, you can't even tell they altered it! It looks like the dress came that way!!

ering my size and the alterations department. I ordered the size they recommended and it was wayyy too big for me even at the hips which is why they had me go up so much in size. I also felt the alterations they said were possible fell extremely short and led to the disappointment. The dress didn't fit right in any spots and it was giant on me. When I went to alterations she was telling me it could be fixed. The seamstress didn't take any measurements and then said she would start with the top of the dress and we would evaluate at the next appointment. The top fit okay (nothing like what I tried on and I had to change my plans for straps to ensure it would stay up) but for a mermaid dress, the dress did not hug anything and hung off my body in a straight non-mermaid style. It also bunched in the stomach area because it was too big and there was too much fabric left in that area of the dress. It didn't look close to what I had tried on when I bought the dress and I didnt have a single clip or clamp on the dress when I tried it on. The seamstress told me there was NOTHING she could do and my hips were the problem and there was simply no fabric she could take in on the dress. In addition, the buttons that ran down the back no longer ran straight down and started to curve to the right side. I left feeling defeated and I was no longer excited for the dress I had waited so long for and spent so much money on. In addition, alterations was not cheap and it was a TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY.
I took it to another seamstress, which I should have done in the first place. She was able to take in the dress to make it look how it should and to ensure it fit right. She was able to fix the back so the buttons aligned properly. I HAD TO PAY ANOTHER EXPENSIVE ALTERATION to fix their mistakes and what they claimed "nothing could be done". I got my dress back the day before my wedding and luckily we were able to make it work since it fit much better. It was not exactly what I had imagined but it looked great and I was happy with it on the day of. My seamstress said they most likely said nothing could be done because they knew it would take a lot of work to fix and wouldn't be cost effective for Mon Aime to take the time to make it right. Unfortunately, it is a problem she sees often from bridal salon alterations.
They have a great variety of options and price points to choose from, so I would recommend taking a look. However be warned about the promises they make for alterations and the sizing they recommend you order. And whatever you do, DO NOT TAKE IT TO THEIR IN HOUSE ALTERATIONS!!!

However, when it came to alterations it was the complete opposite experience. I recommend going else where for your alterations. My seamstress didn’t measure me so when I came back the second time my dress was no where close to zipping. Mind you I ordered my dress a size bigger so I wouldn’t run into any problems. The seamstress then continued to blame me and say I gained weight (it had only been two weeks between appointments). I know for a fact I didn’t gain weight because I lost weight within those two weeks. She continued to tell me not to worry and scheduled an appointment awfully close to the wedding date. I later called back and asked for the appointment to be changed because I didn’t feel comfortable waiting that long to find out if my dress fit. When I arrived for my third appointment the dress barely zipped but I was beyond uncomfortable and couldn’t even sit in it. The seamstress then proceeded to tell me not to call the salon to change my appointment again because she’d get in trouble. Once again she booked my fourth alteration appointment two days before my wedding day. Several days later I decided I didn’t feel comfortable working with her anymore and I wanted to take my dress somewhere else. I called to pick up my dress and found out my dress wasn’t at the shop. I was not told my dress would be taken else where. So 5 days before the wedding I was finally able to get it and take it somewhere else where I was told what a mess my dress was and basically ruined. The new place was able fix the dress as much as she could within the span of two days. Thankfully Mon Amie helped me get a refund from their seamstress but it didn’t make up for the awful experience I had.

The reason for the 3 star review: alterations. I knew from picking up my dress that it would need quite a bit of work especially in the top/chest area. Knowing that, I decided to stay in house as opposed to finding somewhere that likely would have been WAY cheaper. I was assigned to Gloria who turned into my guardian angel in this store. First day of alterations Gloria made me a custom bow for the back of my dress and pinned the chest to pull it in. Based on the work needed to be done I was charged $800+ for the alterations.
Six weeks later we came back to pick up the dress and the chest was still INCHES too big. Like could fit my hand into the dress between where the dress stopped and my body began. When I brought this up to Gloria she said she would have to get her manager because what I was asking is a larger project. Instead of greeting the problem with compassion, the manager instead came in and said what I was asking couldn't be done. The only option was to pad the chest area to fill the space. When I said I didn't want that because I wanted to look like myself in my dress, she told me that most women would want the extra help in that area. We had a full 15 minute conversation going back and forth on why my body was the problem and that what I was asking just couldn't be done. When we asked why I was sold a dress that couldn't be properly fitted to my body, their story somewhat started to change, but the manager continued to be rude and lacked any sort of empathy as I started to cry in my gown just 3 weeks before my wedding.
The manager finally conceded that they could in fact do the alterations but because it was SO MUCH work, they would need to charge more to build a custom top. She stormed off and left me in the hands of my fairy god mother. I sat silently crying as Gloria pinned me once again. I knew that what needed to be done was a lot of work, and at that point she only had 10 days to get it done.
Somehow she pulled off the miracle I needed and I was able to pick up my dress 7 days before walking down the aisle. It was perfect thanks to only Gloria!! The dress fit perfect, but wasn't steamed. When I asked Gloria mentioned they no longer provided this service (though in the past they had). Something I think should be provided given the elite cost of their gowns and alterations.
All in all, I would go back there, but I would only ever trust my gown with Gloria

I thought I wanted a specific style of dress, but after consulting with Tina about my body type and style, she confirmed that I should consider a more flattering style.
Upon trying on dresses she chose for me, I found “the one” but I wasn’t ready to make a commitment. Tina was so graceful in encouraging me to think about it and keep her updated on my decision. I went to another salon and tried on more gowns, but I never stopped thinking about the gown from Mon Amie.

The seamstress got my dress ready for me ahead of schedule because I had to move out of state. When I tried the dress on just a month before my wedding, I saw that the hem wasn’t quite right and panicked. My parents drove the dress back down in a hurry and the seamstress fixed it and had it perfect in no time. I am so grateful that I didn’t have to stress over this. This salon is amazing. Every dress I walked out in, I thought to myself “I can totally envision getting married in this but how come I have not had the moment that every girl talks about? The ‘Ahh Haa’ moment” and that was because I did not yet find the perfect dress.
Tina was such a pleasure to work with at the bridal salon Mona Mie! My family had flown in from Dallas, Texas and San Francisco, California. We had to make a 5.5 hour journey by car from Santa Barbara and back but it was so beyond worth it!
I told Tina exactly what type of dress I was looking for. I mentioned I wanted long sleeve, tight fitted in the waist, and a beautiful long extravagant train with embroidered details/lace. I am open to ideas of the opening and dropping of the back, elevating neck line, off the shoulder, completely covered of the chest, sheer but not too sheer (in only classy areas), but am positive about the long sleeves with details along the dress. She literally made my vision come to reality and found me the perfect dress! Now if that is not the power of manifesting your destiny with the help of a professional stylist who knows exactly what she is doing, then I don’t know what is. Tina was so wonderful, helpful, knowledgable, detail-orientated, and listened to everything I had to say.
Because I had e-mailed the company in advance, they got a sense of who I was and what style of dress I was looking for so they paired me up with Tina. I am so happy they did because if it wasn’t for her, I may not have walked out the door with a dress in hand that day. Oh and did I mention that the dress fit me like a glove, I may not need to make any alterations except to add a bustle to the train (excuse my wedding dress terminology as I am still learning). My dress came in a whole 2 weeks earlier than expected which allowed us more time for minor alterations. The seamstress that helped me during my first appointment, suggested that we order the dress true to my size, so that when the dress came in, it wouldn't need much altering, and that is exactly what happened! When my dress arrived at the salon, it fit perfectly with just a little adjustment to the hem and adding the bustle. Needless to say, my dress was more than ready come the day of my wedding.

y of them. Basically, I was super indecisive and tried on probably a hundred dresses at least.
The first time I went my consultant was so sweet and thoughtful. I came for the Berta trunk show and my family was super unsupportive of me trying on any of those dresses because they are so pricey (even though I was paying for my own dress). At one point, I almost started crying because nothing else was working so my consultant decided to start sneaking in Berta dresses. It really helped so much to have someone on my side with nothing invested but to make me look good and get what I wanted. It was amazing because I was finally able to try on those expensive dresses and then get them out of my head because they weren't perfect.
I came back later that week and had a new consultant (my previous one had gone on maternity leave and told me at my first appointment that Tina would be helping me from now on). I loved my first consultant but Tina was beyond wonderful! She truly listened to what I wanted and went above and beyond to find the perfect dress for me. No other consultant at any bridal salon worked as hard to find me my dream dress. She brought in things for me to try that were different from what I had in mind but were super helpful to try on. A lot places just let your entourage pick your dresses which is not always super helpful. Tina was so deliberate and thoughtful with every pick and I felt how earnestly she wanted to be the one to find me my dress.
I ended up flying across the country to get a specific designers dress but if that had not been an option I know I would have picked one of the dresses Tina had picked for me and been happy with the choice. Tina did pick out my gorgeous veil that complimented my dress perfectly.
The level of professionalism I felt from Tina was way beyond anything I experienced at any other salon. It didn't feel like it was just her job and she was getting though her work day. I felt her passion and love for what she does and how seriously she takes finding a brides' dream dress. She even came in early for an appointment because that was the only time I could make it! Any bride who works with Tina will feel so well taken care of and like she truly wants you to feel beautiful in your dress!

She talked with my mom and I and made some awesome dress suggestions -- she was walking with me around the store and said that she had a dress no one had tried on yet and she thought it would be perfect for me. When I saw it on the hangar it was way out of my comfort zone, but I put it on and I cried. It was my dress. It was the perfect moment and she made it all possible for my mom and I. It was so me and it is like she could see the real me and found a dress for my personality. My seamstress was also amazing and the whole experience was top notch. Delicious snacks (I say snacks, but you could easily make a meal out of it) and champagne/cider are provided so it's like a mini-party for your friends. You also have the luxury of Mon Amie's wonderful stylist (Tina) assisting you with dress selections. Before you even set foot in the store, a number of dresses have been pulled for you by Tina based on your personal style. How does that happen? Tina diligently reviews the Pinterest/Tumblr you send her before your appointment, and picks out beautiful dresses that fit YOUR style. (You also tell her your budget in advance to make sure your style doesn't outspend you!) The Signature Appointment also comes with a tote full of goodies.
As someone who was honestly intimidated by wedding dress shopping, I'm happy to say Tina and Beth (the manager) made my experience both fun and laid-back. To my surprise, I never felt overwhelmed, pretentious, or "not me." (They also accommodated my friend who recently had a baby with a room for pumping.) Beyond the customer service, the dress selection was GREAT. In fact, this spoiled me when I visited some other stores in the area and was great disappointed by the selection. (Do your research before showing up at stores!) Traditional, totally non-traditional, or anywhere in between - you'll find something there you love!
I highly recommend going to Mon Amie and, if possible, scheduling a "Signature Appointment." You'll love it, and so will the friends you take with you!

arianna LoMonaco found me the dress i was looking for. When i first went i wasn't quite sure what i wanted it was so hard to decide. The dresses at Mon Amie are beautiful, so hard to decide on a style. Marianna brought out the dresses that she thought would look good on me and i liked them. Tina the manager also popped in from time to time to see the dresses on me, she helped me too. Everyone is so nice.
I didn't decide right away on the 1st visit, i just wasn't sure yet. I had went to other Bridal shops and ended up back at Mon Amie. I had a great experience with Marianna and I knew she knew what dress i would say Yes to and she found it!
I never knew i would cry like i've seen other brides do when they put on that perfect dress and I did with Marianna. She found me that dress and I said YES to the dress!

e of bride that refuses to settle and was hell bent on finding the PERFECT dress, but choosing your wedding dress is a big deal and I didn't want to feel like just another bride or number. So when I met Janelle at Mon Amie it was like a breathe of fresh air! She was so patient and let me pick out NUMEROUS dresses (some of which I tried on twice to narrow down my choices, because they were all so beautiful). I never once felt like an imposition and she went above and beyond to give me and my party the VIP treatment. The whole time I was trying on dresses, I felt like I was just playing dress up with one of my girl friends. I wound up finding my dress that night, and 100% believe that the experience was just as meaningful as finally being able to say "yes to dress". Janelle, as well as the whole team at Mon Amie, made me feel heard and valuable - the way every bride wants and should feel on such a special day. If you havent been here yet, GO! And ask for Janelle if you want your experience to be as memorable and amazing as mine was !

stores and still was not loving anything. Tina was the most patient and gracious stylist, she never rushed me and I truly felt like she listened to my concerns. I went there thinking I knew what style I wanted but left with something totally different. If it wasn't for Tina I would have never tried on my dress. But you must trust her expertise! The dress she suggested was a perfect fit for my style, personality and budget. Tina is the best! If you go to Mon Amie you must ask for her, you wont regret it!

More than one could ask for. Tina was amazing in finding something gorgeous, quickly, and in my vision for our wedding on the Queen Mary. She had incredible vision and input and made me feel comfortable in the dressing room. She took suggestions well but I think a bride should go in and just trust her. She's got great vision fit and physique and I tried and loved a dress wouldn't have picked out myself.
I was nervous when I didn't get a swatch but the best thing I did was trust them. Beth was very comforting and babysat my dress for me, both Tina and Beth giving me updates all along the way. My emerald green dress was amazing and I was a princess on the Queen Mary. The skirt and sheath combination with multicolored green beading was incredible.

They get your money, put you in a time crunch and your screwed. Why risk it withh plenty of other bridal boutiques in Southern California.
